So sad to say this place disappointed us in every way. Granted, we were a party of twelve, but that wasn't a problem when we thoroughly enjoyed our visit last August of 2021. This time, there seems to have been some sort of staffing shortage, because our waitress took our drink and appetizer orders, then disappeared for twenty minutes. She brought our drinks in two shifts with five minutes between, then brought out the wrong appetizer. Ten minutes later, we got our correct appetizer. It was another fifteen minutes before she took our food order, then disappeared again. The first five plates of food arrived after an hour and a half of waiting. All the food was room temperature at best, and the next six plates of food came out thirty minutes later. The last member of our party did not get his food until almost an hour after the first member did. None of the food was hot. We then waited another fifteen to twenty minutes for our checks, having spent nearly three hours over a cold, unsatisfying meal. Several of the checks were wrong and we had to argue over clearly marked prices. Once we all finally managed to pay, we left the restaurant feeling disappointed and angry. If the waitress had told us the problem and been honest with us about the potential wait, we would at least have had the option to go somewhere else. We will not be returning and recommend that anyone who wants to eat at Rib City in Estero, Fl. ask about the kitchen staff before committing to a meal there. read more

Ha! Their "Rack" must've been cut from a baby pig. If I brought a rack that size to Michigan (or many other States), people would laugh like hell. Two of the other diners with me said the St. Louis ribs were very tough and dry. I realize that their called, "Baby Back Ribs" but I never took it literally. Never again. read more

Been here 3 times and it's so good. I tried a couple other bbq places in the area and this is a winner. Sauces are GF and so is their meat, most sides and their sauces. Their Chicken is moist and delicious, Ribs just fall apart and are amazing, the smoked beef is so good. I am also a huge fan of their beans and their HOT BBQ sauce is so good I bought a bottle to take home. I'm glad they don't have one on the east coast and if they do don't tell me, I'd get fat! read more

We were really craving ribs and gave it a try for the first time. I have to say they were the best ribs I've had in a long time. Not fatty, nice and tender, etc.. the server was also very attentive with refills, clearing finished plates from the table and didn't have to wait for our check. Had a really good late dinner here on a Saturday night. They closed at 9:00 so we only had 30 minutes to eat & go. Seems really stupid to close early on a Saturday night as customers were still walking in up to the last minute. Also the hostess walked us through the entire restaurant all the way to the back past several empty booths that were dim lighting for couples (which we were) to the brightest part of the place and sat us down next to families with screaming children and babies.....UNBELIEVABLE!! We got up before reading any menus and asked to move to the front door in the nice and quiet dimly lit booths we walked past earlier. We've been to other Rib City locations so we knew we were down for sharing the 1 1/2 rack of the baby backs. Damn those ribs are awfully good!!! The waitress was very friendly and attentive the entire meal and all the food was really good. Overall we enjoyed coming here after ironing out a few wrinkles. read more

Had friends over for dinner- we both have small children and figured ordering the bigger family style meals would be best. Once we arrived home and opened them, everything was in order, plenty of meat...however the sides were ridiculous! We ordered 2 meals that say they serve 4-6, so let's just say 4 to be on the safe side. Each meal came with 2 sides, which were about the same size that would come on a single platter in the restaurant? We ended up cooking mac and cheese for all of the kids and splitting the sides between the adults (with all of us taking very small portions) Food quality was amazing...but for $75 I would like to have a full dinner next time not a snack! read more

We've been many times, brought lots of people, always liked the food. This time we did not like the food at all!!! Ribs were tough and not very meaty! The green beans were too spicy! Mac and cheese was mushy. Brought to the attention of our very nice server. We were given new ribs...not as tough but still not meaty! The manager came to discuss our issues and was also very nice. Obviously, there is an issue with consistent products. We were offered a dessert on a house which was nice! Very disappointed and will not come back! I use to be a director of guest services for a major hotel and brand trainer! We trained our staff to fix the problem and add value! My husband felt we should have received a discount on our meal along with the free dessert (add value) Our server was very nice! Your kitchen needs help! read more

Having lived in Memphis for several years I am very selective when it comes to ribs. I have found very few chain restaurants who meet the standard that I am accustomed to, Rib City was at best average. They advertise their ribs as fall off the bone tender, they were. However signs of real smoke were rare, either visually or by taste. The baked beans were boring, but the beer was cold. I was really disappointed in the sauces available at the table. Two of them almost tasted the same, the waitress assured me they were not. None of the three really had any kick, heavy mustard and vinegar taste. The big disappointment came with the Key Lime pie we ordered. I know, it is a rib joint but the pie did not have any, and I mean any, key lime flavor. We actually asked the waiter, she was outstanding, and she assured us it was key lime. She offered us a coconut cream pie (we thought she had goofed), it wasn't bad. They are trying a bit to hard on the decor. Goofy sayings and junk on the walls were distracting. Our waiter was great, bright spot of the night. read more

This is a tourist restaurant.You will try it once, find out that its not worth the effort,(unless you drink alot of beer) and not go again until the next time you return to the area, to give them a second chance. I've had better ribs at Chilis, and even Applebys. It's a long slow process to cook ribs tender, but you have to add moisture, supplied by water or sauce, or the ribs will dry out. Thats the problem with rib city. they are overcooked dry, and smoky, and they don't have any of that saucy flavor that only basting can provide. The sauce is an afterthought, and added too late to keep the ribs from shrinking and drying out. Sorry ribcity, but you are a chain, and while the original owners may have the formula, the hired help does not. They are there to seat you, look cute, and bring you beer. read more

I'm visited the Florida location in Estero, as I asked the receptionist if it were any good because it's super convenient from the Embassy Suites. Well, the server was nice and friendly, the girl up front was easy going and nice to talk to as well. But the food was (and I'm so sorry to say this) just horrible. I wouldve easily paid what I paid for a McDonalds cheeseburger or just anything I guess. I ordered a combo plate of Brisket and Ribs w/ a baked potato and BBQ Beans which included a slice of garlic bread. First, everything was cold, there might've been like 15 seconds a microwave time for the beans, but that's it. Even the warm sour cream wouldn't melt on my baked potato. Ribs were small at best, Brisket was tasteless. My Sprite was great however. Now I'm spending my last day in Florida reviewing my horrible meal ‍‍. I'll never forget this one. read more

We went to Rib City since we always pass it and thought to give it a try. When we walked in I started to have second thoughts since it was a Saturday night before 8pm and there were maybe 3 people in there. I might have given it 3 stars if they didn't overcharge me. The food was just "ok", not bad but nothing to write home about. I ordered a bbq beef sandwich which was served as described on the menu. When the check came it said I had a brisket sandwich. It definitely was not brisket. I lived in Texas for five years and know what brisket is. I brought this to the attention of the server, Hilary, who said "you got brisket". It was no use to argue. I love this place. My server Jessica was the bomb. My drink came out so fast I think it teleported out.. My food came quick and when I say my fries were hot and crispy I mean hotter than satans ass crack and crisper than a Canadian on Ft Myers Beach.. My coleslaw was creamy and sweet. Buffalo chicken sandwhich was perfect moist and crispy. Being that I haven't had a carb in over 1 month I decided on some dessert too.. Go big or go home. We tried a special that they had today which was amazing! It was rib meat on a sandwich with 2 sides for $7.99. Our waitresss really talked it up when we were ordering and it just seemed too good to pass up. The coleslaw was perfect and the sauce on the rib meat was everything! The lunch portions and prices are decent. The best part of the restaurant had to be the decor. All around the restaurant are quirky quotes and jokes. My least favorite (also why I only gave 4 stars) was the hostess.
