I was asking to be seated on a booth with a window and so I noticed there were a few available but they said I had to wait at least 10-15 minutes. We left the place ultimately. Good hometown BBQ place. Has all the Southern Fixins, including garlic toast, bbq beans, southern style green beans, cole slaw, mac n' cheese, corn on the cob. You have all your BBQ favorites, from ribs, beef and chicken. It is a very family oriented atmosphere with Southern decor. A lot of funny sayings on the walls. The staff are friendly and will explain what they have on the menu and give recommendations. My only qualm was the amount of sweet potato fries I was given. The food was just okay. The ribs weren't out of this world, I probably could've cooked it at home with the same result. The Mac and cheese tasted boxed which was a huge disappointment because I loveee Mac and cheese. The only thing I liked here was the onion ring appetizer. I personally think their menu is over priced for what you get. Our server was really rude. She had a attitude entire time and if we ran out of water we had to chase her down for a refill. I asked her if she could give me a plain bread for my 9 month old son and said they didn't have any plain breads only garlic. I usually love talking to people and getting to know them but she had no intentions of talking to us and just brushed us off whenever we tried getting to know her. Y'all know Im a Design District / Beach kind of a guy. Broward is a roadtrip for me:) However, I had a few trips earlier in 09 for work (construction project) and ended up doing a few lunch only roadtrips later in the summer! Their best dish is in their name. The ribs are MUCH better than the chicken, which was a little dry. The ribs reached that juicy. "meat off the bone" Holy Grail. The corn had plenty of sweet butter to be the pinnacle of cholesterol Southern Food heaven. I loved their Sweet BBQ sauce (brown jar). The corn bread though was meh. None of my reviews would be complete without dessert. The Key Lime pie is the best! The free Coke refills are great too. A word of caution: The drive is long down I-75 from Miami, though you can stop by halfway at a rest plaza. The real traffic caution is the CR29 exit. It's a country road, one lane each way and a 45 day / 25 night (yeah) speed and traffic enforcement is heavy. The drive and food coma is certainly Worth the Drive and 5 stars! The sunset off the Everglades on the way back are awesome as well. read more

I've been to plenty of rib cities out here in Southwest Florida. By far this one is the worst one when it comes to the food, portioning service, and cleanliness. Staff seems to be very irritated when you come in the restaurant and restrooms are atrocious. This is coming from somebody who really enjoys rib city. read more

First time at Rib City. It appears to be a local chain. I had the brisket and pulled pork. Both were tender and tasty with very little fat. The sides were equally good as we're the sauces. This has been the worst food restaurant ever for brisket, oven roasted beef and turkey. The brisket, beef, and turkey were slices of deli meat, they also appeared to heated in the microwave. I would not even give my cat the food that was served today. The slices were about 16th of an inch. The coleslaw and Mac n cheese were decent. It's overpriced. This is a chain rib restaurant. The theme is country, country, country. Now on to the food. Typical rib/bbq place. No real surprises here except for the lack of vegetables on the side order menu. If I'm going to eat 5lbs of meat with sugar sauce on it I want to feel at least a little balanced with some green beans. But no, I get french fries and macaroni. This Rib City has always perplexed me. I've been to many of these establishments in my day, but this one just sort of looks like the inside of somebody's house. After reading reviews we were excited. We got 3 meals and a kids meal, Take Out. There was no BBQ on the BBQ pork dinner or pork sandwich ordered and none on the side. Our pork didn't taste smoked or BBQ, with a red ring around the outside that didn't taste good and there was a lot of fat to be pulled off. The corn was good but the garlic bread was soggy with fingerprints in it. Our son loved his kids ribs so that saved them a star. It was 6:30/7:00 pm and when we tried to order dessert they said they had none left in the building, no pies, no anything. I have been to several Rib City restaurants and love them. This is the worst! Besides being dirty the service was horrible.
