I am beyond disappointed and am on the verge of rage. I arrived at 12:05 because I had a doctors appointment near by at 1 PM. I was walked through the entire restaurant and was seated, next to the restrooms, by 12:10 PM. I am an African-American female and wanted to question why I was walked by empty, partitioned, booth sand seated in the least visible/desirable location. Due to my time constraints, I bit my tongue and immediately placed my order - Harpoon, side caesar salad, and appetizer combo. Nothing fancy and food that should have been able to be made quickly. Salad and beer arrived within 10 minutes and the salad overly dressed and inedible. I picked at the croutons while waiting for my app combo. At 12:45 the server came over to apologize about the delay and said the kitchen was "backed up". To remind you, I ordered an app combo. The simplest of dishes to make. I informed my server that so had an appt at 1 PM and asked him how much longer. He leaves to make the inquiry and returns to inform me that "the app combo would be removed" from my bill. So after 45 minutes of my time, sitting in the least visible area, as close to restrooms as humanly possible, I left hungry, angry, and $16 (which includes a $3 tip for the waiter because I'm not an dick) in the hole. Went there with my brothers for my birthday on Saturday night 10/22/2022. Waitress was nice took our drink order. Upon delivering our drinks, lost control of the tray and 2 drinks soaked me right through. All we got is a couple of apologies. No manager came to see how we were doing or to offer us any type of deal for the embarrassment. If that's how they do business then I'd rather write them off. Texas Roadhouse in Danvers is the worst run restaurant I have ever been to , and I am in my 60s. Run by a bunch of young kids who would rather be on their phones and flirting with each other than making a customer happy. *Not for anyone with a peanut allergy* This was our first time to a Texas Roadhouse, which we knew was a chain. There was a bucket of peanuts on every table and shells covering every inch of the floor. For a Saturday night around 7PM we only had about a five minute wait. Our server was very attentive, but it felt like she was rushing us in the beginning. Our eyes were bigger than our bellies so we ended up taking the majority of our entrees back to our hotel. Overall we would describe the food as reasonably priced, relatively large portions, some very greasy, so choose wisely. The rolls with cinnamon butter were the best part! My mom and I came here to spend some time together before my mom went back home across the state. We were excited about the prime rib they said they had. We sat down and unrolled our silverware rolls, my forks were fine but the knife was mildly dirty towards the handle. My mom's knife looked like it just came right out of a steak and potatoes a week old and was covered in dried up chunks of food. I had never seen anything like that before in my life to the point it was stuck to the fabric napkin it was rolled up in. The fact that a person actually rolled this up and expected someone to eat with it is disgusting. There is no way on earth they "didn't notice" how dirty the knife was when they did the roll ups. The server replaced them himself with roll ups he made for us. We asked for boneless chicken with Buffalo sauce on the side, ended up getting it with sauce on it. Okay, whatever, wasn't a big deal... the blooming onion was great. The server came over to us after we ordered 10 ounce prime rib dinners. He said he checked with the kitchen and only had medium well prime ribs which was fine with me because that's usually what I order anyway, so I got it with rice & salad. My mom got a steak instead. When I got my prime, it looked okay at first glance but then I took a bite, I couldn't swallow it, It tasted JUST like beef jerky (which I love jerky but not when my steak taste like it!) It was so dry I couldn't swallow it and it had the consistency of crusty rubber in my mouth. when I stabbed my fork into the middle of it and pulled the fork out, the holes from my fork never lost form... it was like stabbing a fork into clay. I was completely disgusted by the steak. We told the server and he took it away immediately and asked if I wanted something else instead and recommended the 8 ounce sirloin steak which I agreed too because I had to eat something... I was hungry... The manager came over and said that she took the probe rib off my bill.... my mom and I thought to ourselves "uhhh yeah we better not be charged for the dried up roadkill we were just served and didn't eat..) however we were charged for my substitute steak I was served which shouldn't have happened due to the situation with my original order.. I'm not one to expect free food... I could care less... when I go out to dinner I expect to pay for my dinner... but when my dinner is served to me and I wouldn't even allow my dog to eat it? that's REALLY bad... I went expecting a prime rib, was served something inedible and was charged for my replacement steak that I didn't even want, but I had to eat something... that was upsetting... My mom also ordered the onions and mushrooms for her dinner and they never came to us, yet the server did put them in the order.. the kitchen never did it... The server was amazing and handled the situations. He is the only reason for the star...and the one beer each my mom and I got on draft was good. He was a great server!! Friendly, super fast with everything and genuine, I can't remember his name but he was knowledgeable, felt horrible for all the bad luck we were having and did his best with the situations that happened with us. I want to start by saying, the customer service here is amazing! My husband and I drive from Burlington, where there are a bunch of restaurants, to this place because the service is so amazing. We recently visited the Methuen location, because family was there. Horrible experience! Bad service, horrible food. The owner John and manager Jason of Danvers, make it the best. It unfortunate they don't have a Jason and John in every location! Also, bartenders like Sydney and Jeff in Danvers are awesome! The food is pretty good - had their "Country Veg Plate". I got to choose four sides which were the house salad (with Italian dressing), baked potato (with sour cream), sweet potato and apple sauce. The salad was delicious, medium sized. The baked potato and sweet potato were amazingly natural. As for the apple sauce, it was also natural tasting and was in a small dish. Our server was very nice. We had to change something in our order and she did so without complaint. I certainly was impressed with the lack or maybe it was masked but there wasn't racism. Overall, will definitely visit again sometime. Also forgot to add, I'm vegetarian and am glad that there was at least some vegetarian options. read more

He brought over a bucket which was 1/3 full maybe and said they ran out of peanuts, never even came back with more when we seen other tables getting them. Then the waiter came back, took our order, never seen him again until food came out, dropped it off and never came back to see if everything was ok or we wanted another beverage or anything. I am sick and tired of people thinking that is ok to nolonger have hospitality beings this company is labeled as Texas meaning it should have southern hospitality but clearly they yall don't. I own a small business that eats at Texas roadhouse once or twice a week with my employees and this location twice this week has drove me crazy!. Example today we checked in and where waiting outside until it started to rain since doors are locked we are unable to go inside. So we went to our cars. When my table was ready we came inside with 3 of us and fourth guy was not answering his phone. So they refused to sit us. My only option was to walk in rain to get him or not eat. So they had my guys wait at front stand while people had to squeeze past them not social distanceing. My problem is they know it's raining and could of sat 3 of us until he answered his phone or i could of got him while my guys are sitting. All tables that can sit 3 can sit 4 but instead we need to stand and wait. This is disrespectful and would never happen in Texas where true southern hospitality exists. I know! read more

My family comes here pretty often and on Sunday when we went we were not satisfied! My steak was all fat and my mother got a completely different meal than she asked for. When we asked to speak to the manager she said we'd have to keep our meals even tho what my mom received was more expensive than what she ordered. Also I love the roadie which is no longer on the menu but most of the bartenders will make it for you! Awful experience last night... Four fat guys and not one of us ate even 1/2 of our entree. I'm a big fan of Texas Roadhouse and I visit the Brockton location once every two weeks or so. I'm very familiar with their menu, service, etc - this visit to the Danvers store was just sad. I'll never go back. What a waste of $100. I started with a Caesar salad. It had one crouton. A single crouton in the entire salad. It wasn't even a whole crouton; it was a half of a crouton. A broken piece of crouton. One member of our party had the same salad - his had three croutons. We laughed at this, and didn't think much of it. "Damn, they must be running out of croutons or something ha ha. Maybe that's where the money is - these guys must know their bottom line; couldn't we each get TWO croutons? Damn crouton inequality." Then came the entrees. I ordered a fried steak, my usual at Texas Roadhouse. I've had this dish at least twice a month for the last year, with rare exception - I know what it is supposed to be, and what it isn't. The steak is supposed to be from 1/2" to 3/4" thick, and it's supposed to be tender. What I got last night was a hot mess (except it wasn't hot). The steak itself was less than 1/4" thick (we measured) and tough as shoe leather. The breading was burnt to a crisp and flaked off in massive chunks. With most of the breading falling off, what was left looked like beef jerky, except jerky is more tender. My steak knife would barely cut it. I had one bite and abandoned the rest of it. Two of my party got burgers medium-rare. They were "well-done", to say the least - burnt is more accurate. One had a few bites and abandoned the rest, the other said "screw it" and ate the whole crunchy mess. The last member of my party had chicken, and he to left more than half of the plate because it came out cold, and only got colder. We didn't bring it up with our waitress because she had a terrible attitude, and we were quite sure that when we sent back ALL FOUR ENTREES what we got back would be more spit than food. After we got our check the person bussing asked about my "steak" and I told her it was awful, she looked at the mountain of left over chicken across from me and said we should have mentioned it to the waitress... If the food wasn't absolute garbage, we would have spent another $50 on drinks. Your crappy kitchen and staff are costing you money, Texas Roadhouse. At the Brockton location I have never had a meal where the manager didn't visit my table personally and ask how things were going - in Danvers, our waitress was too thick to notice that the entrees weren't eaten and the manager was nowhere to be seen. This is my husband's favorite steak restaurant. Each entree includes 2 sides - eg a salad served in a refrigerated bowl, baked sweet potato, baked potato, steak fries, chili, french fries... And all the peanuts you want to eat. Their dinner rolls served with sweet whipped butter are addictive too. Our most recent visit was on a Friday night. At 6:30PM, their wait was about 45 minutes. We made use of the call ahead and got a number and an approximate time. After we got to the restaurant at 7:10, we only waited about 5 minutes before we were seated. We had a 12 oz ribeye steak and a 12 oz prime rib, a Cesar salad, garden salad, a bowl of chili, and baked potatoes. Both steaks were tender. The salads and the sides were good too. Bad Bad and Bad! At first walking in they have you pick your piece of meat like this is to make you think WOW, this place is cool I am so impressed. Nothing could have been less true. Watching a group of stupid people hovering over a meat case made me want to turn around and leave. Sorry, I go out to eat so I don't have to go through that at the market. After the initial confusion of getting your "meat ticket" (Like I would even know if it was the same piece after being cooked and coated in giant granules of salt). It was about an hour wait to be seated. This was double what they told us it would be. Maybe that's because they want you to empty your pockets on drinks. Not even half done with my first margarita and I have a waitress telling me I'm ready for another. Finally after being seated. Daughter ordered kids ribs it was her birthday celebration and I got the full slab. The BBQ sauce was tangy and the meat was SO SO salty it was overwhelming to the point that it was not edible to me or my daughter. Mashed potatoes were the best part of the meal other that the rolls and honey butter if that is infact what the butter is. They are also very stingy with the rolls when they take you to the table and don't bring you more unless you give them your first born. At least that is how it seemed..... My daughter ate half of my moms plain chicken breast which happened to be the most "bland" main course. It was not bad but who goes to the Texas Roadhouse for a plain chicken breast? Server didn't care that 75% of my ribs and my daughters remained to inquire if something was wrong. She just wanted to flip the table to get a drinking crowd into our seats in my opinion. Four words, "Don't Mess With Texas"!!! Shame on these people for calling what they put on my plate "food" none the less "Texas BBQ". This crap belonged in the toilet and not on a plate and I couldn't wait for it to make it to its proper place. I am a native Texan and know that what they serve at this place is about as Texan as Osama Bin Laden and its nearly as offensive. I have eaten at some of the best BBQ joints in the South and am not expecting it to match up with those places but I DO know what this food is supposed to taste like and these people are not only not in the same ballpark...they aren't on the same planet. A Texas steakhouse and no brisket??? I came to be thankful that they didn't have brisket because I'd hate for them to ruin such good meat. I walked into this Disneyesque faux Texas steakhouse with my girlfriend to not be greeted by two teenaged girls that seemed distracted with texting. Once I took the seat I wanted, I was then greeted by the one decent thing about this place...a nice waitress. My girlfriend and I ordered one of these "giant" margaritas of which you have a choice of 4 tequilas, Patron, Cabo Wabo, Cuervo Gold, Cuervo 1800. I would of hoped for more options given the fact that 2 of those options are utter garbage, leaving me 2 choices for my drink. The drinks came and they were large but not "giant" and they were decent but nothing to write home about. Again, I have had some of the best margaritas in Los Angeles and know what they should taste like...these are just ok. On that note I want to restate that "big" doesn't equal necessarily "good", just as "original" doesn't necessarily equal "best". A few minutes later the waitress brought out a basket of buns and butter, these were actually decent. I ordered the "Country Fried Chicken" ($9.99) that came with two, what they call "legendary sides", of which I ordered chili and mashed potatoes. My girlfriend ordered the "Grilled BBQ Chicken" ($9.99) and she got the mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. A few minutes later I was brought a cup of chili that appeared to be from a can but might not of been but if it wasn't...it may of well have been. The first bite came with some kind of piece of bone...no idea from what...a couple bites later it came with a piece of what I believe to have been a Brillo Pad. I have made and eaten a lot of chili in my life but I've never known a recipe that included steel wool, but then maybe that's what makes this "legendary"! Shortly thereafter came the entrees, mine was a piece of boneless chicken breast pounded paper thin about the size of the plate and covered in a white gravy. This thing was bizarre and nothing like I had pictured. The mashed potatoes where fine, not good and not bad just ok and slightly too salty. When I looked at my girlfriends BBQ chicken I thought to myself, "what a joke." She then informed me that it wasn't very good, which based upon my experience so far...was not a surprise. It was what appeared to be a baked chicken breast that was thrown on a grill for a second to give it some marking and a overly molasses flavored BBQ sauce dumped over the top of it. This not only tasted like crap but also is a joke to actually call this BBQ. Thankfully, because of the Legendary Brillo Pad Incident, they comped my meals which eased the pain in my wallet a bit but did nothing to ease the pain in my stomach. Will absolutely not be returning to Texas Roadhouse. Came in for dinner on a Saturday night and the four of us were seated right away... and that's the highlight of this review. Service was not good - our waitress was super slow taking our orders, and messed up EVERY ONE of the four orders we placed. Drinks were way heavy on the sweet and sour mix (emphasis on the SOUR, blech). One in our party got the steak tips, well done. They came out medium. They were sent back and came back as hockey pucks, probably as retribution for sending them back in the first place. My boyfriend ordered the pulled pork, which was delicious, but she never brought out his side of corn. I ordered the salmon with a loaded baked sweet potato. Apparently "loaded" on a sweet potato means MARSHMALLOW, Maple butter, and cinnamon. Nowhere on the menu does it state this... it says "LOADED! $X.XX more! Potato, Sweet Potato, French Fries, Steak Fries". Not what I wanted at all, so I asked for a regularly loaded sweet potato, and got a loaded regular potato. Our server was just not listening. Fed up with the crappy service, another in our group said something to the waitress about the continued errors. The waitress apologized, but nothing was taken off our bill, and she avoided our table like the plague for the rest of the night, literally RUNNING from the table as we were still mid-sentence with drink refill requests, water requests, etc. At this point it was just adding insult to injury. The food was alright, but nothing to write home about (except the bread, which is always phenomenal... but what does that say about a restaurant if the bread is the best part of the meal..?!), the service was terrible and the accuracy was atrocious. There is always a surreal quality to going into a place you have only eaten once in 5 years and 3,000 miles away. The first time in 2009 the place was dead when we went in. This time we waited for about 40 minutes for a table. The steaks were good and came out quick, there isn't much more you can ask for. Well, other than you want them cooked right, which they were. Our server kept the refills coming which is the next important thing. We have had such a wide range of experiences at TR that you just never know what you are getting into. This place definitely sets itself apart from the other steak/rib/chicken chain restaurants in terms of the party-like atmosphere it fosters. Dancing waitresses, "birthday" celebrations with the birthday boy/girl forced to sit on a saddle while the waitress coaxes the entire restaurant to yell YEE-HAW, tossing empty peanut shells on the floor indiscriminately... you get the picture. It's a WOOOOOO time. If you're looking for a quiet evening, stay far away from this place. With the background noise as loud as it is, one would think that this is the perfect family restaurant. However, I would caution parents with kids under 4 who are prone to meltdowns when their senses are overwhelmed to think twice about coming here. I saw lots of toddler-aged (and younger) kids crying their heads off and lots of parents failing to soothe them. They, unfortunately, did not appear to be having the aforementioned WOOOOOO time. I really enjoyed the soft sweet warm rolls. I heard that TR is famous for these and I can see why. If you order a steak, you get to walk to the refrigerated display case and pick out the exact steak that you want them to cook for you. That's a nice touch. So, if you like big chunk of fat in the middle of your rib-eye, you can go for it. We picked one that was nicely marbled for our son. Next time, I think I'm going to request that they just season it with pepper and a touch of salt. Whatever their house steak seasoning is, it's very salty. My wife had the ribs, and they're about what you'd expect from a chain restaurant. I had the fried catfish, which were kind of like fish sticks covered with cornmeal. They were fine, but I don't think I'd order them again. We ordered my son's steak medium-rare and it came to us medium-well. The server offered to take it back to the kitchen, but asked first that our son try it to see if he still liked it. He still liked it, so we kept it. If it were any cut other than a rib-eye, we probably would have had to send it back. All the fat in the rib-eye helps to mask problems like this one. For sides, we had sweet potatoes (can't really mess those up), fresh steamed veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, and carrots), steak fries (too salty), and green beans (southern-style in a cup, wet with bacon and onions). Would I go again? Sure. But not for the food, I'd do it for the atmosphere. It's more of a cultural experience, with the dancing, the loud country music blaring, and the constant YEE-HAW'ing. I mean, how often can you go out to dinner and yell "YEE-HAW" at the top of your lungs (literally) at least half-a-dozen times and not get kicked out of a place? This place makes an awesome steal if ur looking for something good and under $25. I see people complaining its dirtyy.... You throw your peanut shells on the ground... This isn't an upscale restaurant its a family spot. They do line dances for gods sake ( entertaining the first time but easy to ignore after that) People complaining that this place calls itself a steak house, if you want a real steal house u are going to have to pay for it. This place actually has an awesome prime rib. But the last 2 times I've been here they've been out of prime rib. Not late on a Saturday or something. I mean it's Monday @ 9 pm. I mean don't tout yourself as a steak house and be out of your specialty at 9 pm. The bartender thought it was funny to boot. This place has become our Friday night post Martial Arts go to. Full disclosure, I am NOT generally a fan of chain restaurants. One quick look through my reviews will tell you that I usually trash them for sub standard food and service. This place, though, has proven to be an exception. We;ve been here at least 6-8 times and each time has been great. Service has always been super strong. Every waiter/waitress we've gotten has been very attentive and the manager has always come to the table to check and make sure that the experience has been pleasant. Food has been surprisingly good! Salads have a bunch of veggies, are always crisp and cool. Steaks have been really good (if a bit over cooked) and the kids have always liked the burgers and hot dogs. The one thing that blows my mind is the cost. It seems staggeringly cheap. 2 adults and two kids can eat here for under $50 (no booze mind you). That is incredible. read more
