Service was great - Marcus was on it. Nailed the martini order, brought the Cabernet Sauvignon with the steak, perfect! Sides were great as usual. Steak was perfectly cooked. Alright...4 stars instead of three. A rare occurrence- a dessert order. Apple pie à la mode and coffee with cream. Coffee was fresh, half and half was the little plastic containers. Pie was nuked. Part of an apple had the texture of a jujube candy. Didn't need the caramel sauce. Glucose overload! Don't get me wrong. TR is very consistent in service and food quality. My first visit to Texas Roadhouse was great. Between the service and food, I expected the second time to be just as good. Unfortunately it wasn't. We had a reservation for 11 people and instead of seating us at tables that could be put together so we could sit together, they had 11 of us share 2 booths. Really leaving no room for us all to talk to each other. Now, I'm not sure if our waiter is new to the business or was just overwhelmed, but he did a few things that led me to wonder. First, we watched two other tables that sat down after us, have not only drinks served to them, but their orders were also taken and they were served bread. All before our waiter took our drink order. So now he takes our drink order, but then it's another 10 minutes before he takes our food order. And now to the part that has me no longer a fan of Texas Roadhouse. We're watching the football game on the tv over that bar and I see our waiter walking our way with a tray of food...then I hear a plate crash to the floor and he stops, someone else starts cleaning up the food. It was my plate of food. Which is exactly what I thought to myself when I heard the plate fall to the floor. Everyone at my table received their food but I had to wait while mine was remade. I ordered a 6 oz sirloin med rare, smothered with mushrooms and onions, shrimp and a loaded baked potato. My food finally arrived, on a kids plate, no mushrooms or onions on my steak and my steak was overcooked. Will I give them a second shot? Probably not. They weren't very nice, it took forever to receive my dinner, my steak was bare and overcooked and they definitely don't know how to sit a large party. read more

The service is really great. I ordered online and it was ready at the exact time it said. I got a text when reaThis place was so packed. I'm not sure if they use the curbside anymore but I had to park and walk in. All the to-gos are to the left when you walk in. I got the appetizer platter for $14.99 and honestly it's kinda better to get this than just one fried pickle cause that is 9.99. The mozzarella and potato's were pretty good. I got a kids meal which was this steak (pictured) and my side was mushrooms. They had a lot of pepper on them. Plus a small drink. Not really worth $13.99 imo. We used to go to TRH every other week and we were always very satisfied. Of late the quality of the food and service has been really poor, so much so we quit going there to eat. We tried it again tonight after about 8-10 months hiatus, thinking, hoping, that things have improved. They haven't. The service was awful and it took almost 90 minutes to get our food. We waited over 15 minutes just for the waiter to acknowledge us. I ordered a medium rare steak and it was well done and DRY but another person's food (chicken) from our party was tepid/room temperature and inedible. We couldn't find our server through this ordeal so we struggled through. As we were leaving we brought our concerns to the manager's attention and he commented that he's heard a lot of steaks have been well done but he did apologize. He didn't offer to compensate us at all for the poor quality service and food. To say we were all disappointed is a gross understatement. read more

Ordered pickup after work. Was quoted 40 minutes ready time. This would be mostly accurate as they were super busy with lots of people getting takeout orders. I walked in at the prescribed time and was told it was almost ready. The nice young fellow began bagging my order and I thought I would be out quick. It was bad when young fellow returned to the kitchen for a full on ten minutes. Clearly the kitchen forgot to make one of my items. Now my food is sitting in the bag and I'm not happy. The food overall was excellent as usual except they must have changed the chicken fried steak. I've been disappointed lately in this from several locations. The meat is supposed to be thin, pounded and big as a result. This meat was half an inch thick and tough. I'm not interested in a breaded well done steak but rather a thin piece of steak breaded and fried. There's a difference. read more

I truly enjoy coming to the Old Seward location. I've had awesome food AND service. However, the recent experience wasn't awesome. My wife ordered a salad as a side. She found a fly in the salad halfway through. We waited for our server, Nikki, to stop by for almost ten minutes. Upon seeing the fly her eyes widened. She said she'd bring another salad and that she'd let the manager know about the fly. She came back with another salad, not promptly to indicate the horror or the apology that became seemingly absent henceforth. She hadn't even offered to send us more rolls. The young couple next to us were served by another. And he had given them another basket of rolls within ten minutes of their seating. For the fly incident I expected more courtesy and apologies and perhaps even a discount. None of those were present. We ate, paid and left. This location is close to our home, but now I'm almost certain we'll be driving across town to the other location. I should have brought up the fly incident before paying. But... Friendly and quick service with ok food. Coming in was quick and no wait. Though, we did have to fold up our stroller and put it on the booth next to us. This experience not entirely stroller friendly. The service was great, bustlin' and friendly. Our server came by frequently, kept refills coming for my bottomless husband, rolls plenty and giving exactly the kind of experience I'd expect from Texas Roadhouse ten years ago. Inside is loud, lively and lit up. A signature of Texas Roadhouse and with bits of Alaskan flair to decorate the walls. One thing to note is the old days of peanut floors and buckets are long gone and plastic bags of peanuts replace them. If you've got some nut sensitivity this is still not the place for you. Now -- the food. It's alright. Yeah, yeah the rolls are good. As far as steaks go I think they go through some sort of brine. They're cooked as desired, very filling and still a good char. With all that said the steaks are on par with Golden Corral. The food is nothing special with the exception of the appetizers. If I were to choose between Texas Roadhouse and Golden Corral I'm choosing the latter except if I'm hungry for the fried onion in which case there's no competition they are wonderful and hit all the tasty points. read more

We are compelled to give this restaurant a one-star rating, which reflects our deeply unsatisfactory experience. My wife and I visited Anchorage for her upcoming surgery on February 13th. Since she would be in the hospital on Valentine's Day and her birthday was just a week away, I wanted to make our dinner special by treating her to a steak. Upon arrival at 6:15 PM, the host took my name and instructed us to wait by the rib-eye sign, assuring us that our wait would be about 5-10 minutes. However, after us, a couple arrived and were told their wait would be 10-15 minutes. To our astonishment, they were seated before us, which set a negative tone for the evening. Once we were finally seated, it took 15 minutes for our waiter to bring water and inquire if we were celebrating anything special. I shared that my wife was facing surgery on Friday--Valentine's Day--and that her birthday was the following week. It then took another 15-20 minutes for him to take our order. After a further 30 minutes of waiting without any engagement from our waiter, we had to flag him down to ask about our salads. He returned with just one salad--one! Meanwhile, we watched him diligently serve other tables, completely ignoring us for 55 minutes. I made eye contact with him as he stood nearby, but he abruptly darted away to the kitchen. Eventually, another staff member delivered our steaks, but to our dismay, everything was cold--steak, potatoes, and vegetables. This was a truly disappointing dining experience that we will not soon forget. We hoped for an enjoyable evening but left feeling neglected and frustrated. I spoke with the manager, who genuinely wanted to resolve the issue. The options were to return the steaks to the microwave, which wouldn't improve their quality, or to place a new order, which would take another 45 minutes since we were in the busy period. After considering the choices, we decided it was best to leave. I appreciate the manager's efforts, but I hope future improvements can enhance the overall dining experience. read more

So I got to the Texas Road House near Sportsman's Warehouse this afternoon about 330 pm. When I pulled up I thought they were open. The parking lot near the Resturant was full for about six rows. I get out and walk to the door to find the sign says closed and the door locked. Then a girl parks next to me and gets out in her Texas Roadhouse I love my job shirt and walks to the door and is let in. Maybe it's just me, but it seems the employees should be leaving the parking nearest the business for customers, but who am I, right?? Anyway. I won't be back. The service was great, we got seated right away - we went the moment they opened so not too many people for lunch. Got our drink order promptly && bread basket. Once we ordered, the sides and the appys came very quickly. The quality was sup par. The salad was good && HUGE! The onion blossom was good as well. We also ordered wings because the husband && I love wings as you know. I didn't know they were bone out... I wouldn't of ordered them if I read the description that they were bone out. When I got my steak, the fries were cold so they got me new fried and they were luke warm. I love fries but only if they are hot - so I didn't eat many. The steaks were tasteless&& I loooove stakes! Always cooked excellent! Friendly staff and service is great even if busy. I found this location hell a better than the one at Muldoon. I know because I went there and wasn't really impressed. The smoked au jus was too watered down and the meat was overcooked. This local is VERY consistent. 4 days straight proves that. And every time one of the key mgrs showed up. First of all we checked in via the app, txt message received at 6:04. Finally sat down at a table at 6:44. It wasn't busy. Just disorganized. Server finally came to us after 20 min ordered food and drinks. During the process last minute notified us of being out of ribs. Whatever. We were on the waitlist which was convenient but they didn't honor the timing, a little later than what was expected. Maybe I shouldn't choose to go on a busy day to celebrate Mother's day next time. Tables were clean. I ordered a 12oz prime rib medium rare and goodness.. it was tough, not juicy or flavorful. I didn't send it back because I was already very hangry. I ate what I could. We stopped for dinner at the Texas Roadhouse and have to say the 12 once Ribeye was one of the best steaks I have had in a while. It was hot along with the baked potato. We've visited here a few times. I'd say this is one of our family's go to steakhouse. I always get steak and it's usually cooked well to how I like it (medium rare). The only time there was a little hiccup was when a new trainee wrote my order wrong and gave me a larger size steak. I mean, more for me, but the manager came over and told me that they were only charging me the price for my original order, which was really nice. We had a great early dinner at this south-side Texas Roadhouse. Coming soon after opening, during the week (4pm) seems to be the best time to visit. We received exceptional service. Drinks always filled before we could ask. Very efficient server. My spouse and I both agreed it was the best quality and presentation of Texas Roadhouse food we've ever experienced, and we've visited locations in the lower 48. My only regret? I wasn't able to capture photos. We are waiting for a replacement phone for my spouse, which meant I had to give up my phone for our sons entertainment purposes. Next time. My friends and I had lunch at the bar and our bartender was Nicole and she was awesome and friendly. Even though it was busy she still made it a point to interact with Everyone. I would like to share with you the experience that we received today from your service manager named Shawn. My family and I are regular customers of Texas Roadhouse, from the low 48 and now here in Anchorage, and today we decided and chose to have dinner in one of our favorite restaurants, TEXAS ROADHOUSE. Everything was great we received our drinks quickly, our appetizer and our salads on a good time until our waitress comes over and said that we have to wait 5 minutes for our steaks, and those minutes turn in probably 20 minutes, our waitress come again for second time and apologized for the tardiness of the service but for us was not a big deal because enjoying the family time; well... the steaks arrived and surprise! My husband's steak was cooked wrong, and our waitress agreed when she asked him to cut his steak and make sure it was as he requested, also one of my sons didn't receive his second side (cheesefries). Rachel our waitress so attentive, and courtes she told us that will communicate to the manager, and effectively few minutes after Shawn arrived, and as a family We let my other son talk and explain the problem, as waiting long time, received an steak wrong cooked and his brother missing the second side. Well he told us that he will do nothing about it, either eat or leave but he will not do anything. As a manager he has to take care and provide good customer service but instead he refused and directly verbally told us that he will not do anything to take care of us. We met a few girlfriends here for drinks and appetizers on a Friday night. Be advised: The doors don't open until 4 pm, and there's a line! The wait was only 10 minutes or so, and they were kind enough to seat 4 of our party of 6 while we waited for the last couple to meander in a bit late... We started with margaritas all around - definitely recommend the legend, with Black Sea salt on the rim and an extra shot. Normally, I'm not a salt on the rim kinda gal, but I really enjoy the milder, less tangy Black Sea salt that goes with a well balanced and smooth margarita. With margaritas, we opted for 3 decadent appetizers: the blooming onion, jalapeño poppers and fried pickles. All were served piping hot and delicious! The blooming onion, while not quite to Outback Steakhouse standards, was a delicious substitute. Personally, my favorite was the variation of jalapeño poppers - they were deep fried balls of cheese with diced jalapeños inside. A fun and interesting take they called rattlesnake bites, and for those afraid of the spice level, these were deemed easy enough on the jalapeño for everyone at our table. Pickle chips were the least appetizing, not their fault - they were just pretty standard fare. A fun evening, though service was a bit hit or miss and we had drinks and food that came out haphazardly with no real order to them. I do love coming to Texas Roadhouse, it has to be said. An English person (like myself) would find the whole Yee Haw thing very quaint and quirky, and i do get right into when they sing the song, and do the dance, and I'll shout Yeeeeeee Hawwwwww. Ok, Ambiance etc. Lots of tables, in a quaint decor, our Texas Roadhouse is flavoured with some Alaskan type art and stuff, as well as the other Texas type of stuff. There are a LOT of staff, and they have the whole deal down to a fine art, it's a well oiled machine, you're greeted at the door, asked how many of you, and USUALLY led to a table straightaway. I've only ever had to wait once, and it was maybe 10 minutes. But waiting is NOT a problem when there's a gigantic barrel of peanuts for you to monch on. And you can throw the shells on the floor. Nobody looks at you like "Hey, clean up that mess!!" Even if deep down inside, you feel like a naughty child, dropping those shells on the floor. You are led to your table, by another host/hostess, who carries your steaming hot, freshly baked, buttery rolls for you. You arrive to your table where there's a full bucket of peanuts, all for YOU, and an empty bucket for the shells, as well as your hot, buttery, bread rolls and honey butter. Incidentally, i hate honey butter, so i always ask for regular butter as well. Your server comes and takes your drink order, and comes back with that, and takes your dinner order - I usually get the country veg plate - which is basically 4 items from the sides menu, and it's only 9.99. That's a total bargain for the amount of food you get. And i ALWAYS get a bowl of (in my opinion) one of the best chilis in Anchorage, a Caesar Salad, A bowl of mashed taters, and some unseasoned fries - I've found when they bring seasoned ones, they're overly fond of the salt - i prefer to control my own blood pressure, and only add a little. I choose these sides, because i love to have fries with salad, and mashed taters with chili. I can eat a lot of food, but i can't eat all of this. Husband likes to switch it up a bit, but i usually get the same. Except sometimes I'll opt for the beef tips, but i get those less often, because i find they lack consistency when cooking the meat. I've asked for medium before, and it was rare - to the point of blueness. I've asked for well done, and it was medium well (perfect) but today i asked for well done, and it was overly well done, even a little tough. I don't like well done. SO I'm kind of confused how to get the beef to the colour i want. I think I'll avoid getting it in future. It won't stop me going, as I'm a big fan of it. Yeeeeeee Hawwwww read more

Spent some family time in Alaska this past week. Brother-in-law wanted to go here, so we did. Parking wasn't easy to find close and at -17 degrees, it was a chilly walk. Restaurant was super packed for a Thursday it seemed. Waited for about 30 min for a table, but that is usually the norm at TR restaurants. Food was good as expected. They play their music really loud in there so it was difficult to converse, but there were a lot of people there too, every table full. I would say it was about average, nothing better than normal, but nothing too horrible either. read more
