I have never left a review, this made me want to... I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, especially if you've been to other Brazilian steakhouses like fogo de chao, or cowboys. When we arrived to speak to the hostess about our reservation for 6 at 7:45pm she was scrolling through personal photos on her phone in very clear view. After being seated our waitress greeted us she was kind and did the best she could to help satiate us by continuously asking if we wanted more sides, but like most people that come to these, we wanted meat - that wasn't necessarily in her control. A man came by with a free drink for my brother because he had made an extra by accident, and the waitress came by asking to remove it from the table or we would pay for it? Which was just a really strange and confusing interaction. At some point a man came around who I can only assume was the manager? He told us that we should take our time and that we'd surely be filled before leaving. We got served maybe 6 total times, the flavor was alright, the meat was tough, but honestly I'm not picky just hungry, but it was just the fact that the frequency for what we were paying for made no sense, almost 80$ a person (tip/tax included) and we got next to no meat and a salad bar that was at best wilted, the best thing we had was bananas. At some point our waitress did ask if we wanted any more meat, and we did, she went to the back to talk to the servers and they returned with 2 sausages for a table of 6. I have no idea if this was some kind of joke but writing it down now I have to laugh honestly, what a wild thing to do. I just hope that this review makes it to people before they eat here, you should go anywhere else if you're looking to get quality food and fill up -- I highly, highly recommend Shabuya for that! It's hot pot, located in the same mall and you get plenty of food! The last thing I'll say about this place before I offer suggestions since it's asking what could be improved, when the manager came around I let him know about how little we were given all he could say was he was sorry and it was too late for him to do anything, he was hoping we would leave saying "wow". Huge fan! Located on the top floor of Ala Moana Center. You'll get seated fast on non-busy days and the staff roared frequently to give us different cuts of meat. If you've been to fogo de chao, this is very similar. In my opinion, better! Salad bar is always stocked and the staff and manager check on you for any meat requests that you want to try more of. I was starting to get a little irritated when I kept seeing our "meat" person walking by. Also I ordered a highball...but pretty sure I got a tequila on rocks. Reservations were made months in advance for Valentine's Day dinner with my husband, so we were definitely looking forward to a smooth, romantic evening. When we arrived, we were told they were running about 20-25 minutes behind on reservations and were asked to wait outside. It was very crowded, with lots of couples waiting around, which made it feel a bit chaotic right from the start. When our name was finally called, it was hard to hear, and the hostess didn't linger to see if anyone responded. I thought I heard my name and sent my husband inside to check -- sure enough, they had called us. They did apologize and explained they were having trouble getting tables cleared and reset quickly enough due to delays with bussing. Totally understandable on a busy holiday, but it added to the initial stress. Once seated, things improved. Our waitress, Kelly, was genuinely kind and attentive. We weren't initially given a drink menu, but when we asked, she seemed surprised and quickly corrected it. She explained the dining process clearly and sent us off to the salad area. The salad bar is where this place really shines. It's far beyond your standard greens-and-dressing setup. There were grilled asparagus, green beans, balsamic tomatoes, specialty cheeses, and even a cinnamon pineapple dish that was surprisingly delicious. I'd heard the lobster bisque was a must-try, so I grabbed a bowl. The flavor was good, but it wasn't very hot, which took away from the overall experience. The meat service was plentiful and nonstop. As soon as we finished one selection, another gaucho would appear with something different. It felt like you never got the same cut twice, and there was always something new to try. If you're going for the full churrascaria experience, they definitely deliver on variety and abundance. Dessert, however, felt like another waiting game. When we said yes to seeing the dessert options, it took quite a while for the tray to arrive. Kelly came back multiple times to apologize, explaining that the dessert station was backed up. Once she finally presented the tray (probably about 10 minutes later), she thoroughly explained each option. I chose the banana foster pie. It took another 10 minutes to arrive. Again, apologies were offered -- and appreciated -- but by then the momentum of the evening had dipped. The dessert was good, but not something I'd rush back specifically for. Overall, Texas de Brazil at Ala Moana delivered on food quality and selection, especially at the salad bar and with the continuous meat service. Service from our waitress was warm and professional despite clear back-of-house bottlenecks. The holiday crowd and delays took away from the romantic flow of the evening, but the core dining experience was solid. Was definitely great for a date night. A super large salad bar, but we weren't there for the salad. Waitresses and waiters come around in Brazilian uniforms with many meat entrees to choose from. They try to keep the meats hot when they carry them around for service. Pros: 1) Seniors get a 20% discount. 2) Large salad bar. 3) We had an attentive waiter. 4) Entrees were kept at a good temperature and not cold since they are carried around to serve. Cons: 1) They don't accept online gift certificates. 2) A bit pricey, but the senior discount helps. 3) Dessert is not included. Would I go back? Yes, even with the price of dinner. This was our second time eating here and my first commen,t is that the service was way better than our 1st experience. Our waiter was very kind and attentive to our table, even after it got busy. He also did his best to get our favorites to the table. I'm not much of a beef eater and it seems as though the mostly cater to beef eaters. You can request items, but each time we did we had to wait a good amount time my husband requested the picanha multiple times after seeing it come out and never making it to our table, it didn't make it until we were ready to leave. Definitely a different experience from eating at Brazilian steakhouse's elsewhere, specifically Texas. I do want to be fair, my 3 star review is not because the place is terrible. There were a lot of different things that I wanted to try, but had to make sure there was space for the meats. I'm not a big mushroom person, but I really liked the ones that they had. They also bring you some sides to the tables (fries, mashed potatoes, and the most delicious platanos ever. And they gave us a refill on those too. I tried about 9 meat items. I think I saw at least 12 being offered (declined trying the lamb items). I liked all the ones I tried.... the favorites being the flank and this other beef one that starts with a "p". That 2nd one every time I saw the gaucho walking by I had to flip my card to green. And to top this review off, the service was fantastic. I said I'd return when I was back home and I did! You're not currently able to make to-go orders online for the Hawaii location so we called in our order. I must say... the young lady who assisted me was the sweetest and was very courteous. While ordering I asked about the Brazilian cheese bread that comes with the to-go meal. She later called me back to advise that they were no longer including the bread with the meal so you had to order them separately (1/2 dozen, etc).. I mentioned that their website states that they come with the meal so I felt like they should honor that but she sweetly apologized. I understood that it wasn't her decision and ordered a dozen. She later called me back and informed me that the chef decided to not charge for the bread due to the issue and I really thought that was great of them to do that since it was advertised as such. We ordered 2 Churrasco Plate meals which start at $19 and come with your choice of 2 meats (some premium meat options require an additional cost), your choice of 2 sides and chimichuri sauce. As I mentioned, it may or may not come with a couple Brazillian cheese breads so you'd want to confirm. But if you have to pay for them I recommend you do so because they're yummy. For meats we selected Picanha, Garlic Picanha and Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon (all of which were additional cost). For sides we got Potato Salad, Scalloped Potatoes and Feijoada (Black Beans). Everything was delicious. I feel like their to-go plate option is great for the cost but that can increase depending on your meat selection. My absolute favorite meat selection is the Picanha so that was an extra $3.50 each and the Filet Mignon was an extra $9. Honestly, having been to quite a few Brazilian steakhouses, I have a standard for the kind of service you usually get at these places. Unfortunately, this visit just didn't hit the mark. The service felt off from the start, even just waiting to be seated felt like a hassle. Once we were actually at the table, it didn't get much better. It felt like the staff was genuinely annoyed every time we had a request, which made the whole meal feel awkward. To top it off, we could literally hear the servers complaining about having to stay late and questioning why people even come in that late... which is pretty frustrating considering the restaurant is the one letting you book a reservation for that time in the first place. The food was decent, but the vibe was just ruined by the service. If you're looking for that high-end "experience" you usually expect from a churrascaria, this probably isn't the spot. read more

Great meat and salad bar options. The meats were seasoned and cooked to your preference. Majority are cooked medium rare to medium but they can be prepared to your liking upon request. Service is good. Very attentive and friendly. A great all you can eat steakhouse in Honolulu. read more

My husband and I when on a sporadic early date night and decided to eat here. We came for an early dinner and the restaurant was not that busy yet. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the hostess lady, she was very nice and welcoming. We were seated immediately. Our server was a young gentlemen, excellent recommendations which we took into consideration of the alcoholic drinks he recommended. The food and the buffet off to the side was good but it was pretty pricey. Luckily the servers came around just in time when we were ready for our next meat to consume. I've been to Texas de Brazil twice now, and both times were absolutely amazing! My mother-in-law first introduced us by gifting my husband and me reservations, and the second time we went as a big family group with my brother and his partner, my husband, and my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. It was a fantastic experience both times. The meat literally never stops coming and it is always cooked to perfection. If you prefer your meat cooked differently than medium-rare, they will happily fix that for you, and if there's a specific cut you're waiting for, they will have it sent straight to your table! The salad bar also has an incredible number of options. For drinks, I tried the chocolate haupia martini and it was so ono--I absolutely recommend it! Even though the restaurant was packed during both of my visits, the servers were incredibly attentive. Salad bar had a lot of selection and dishes were frequently refreshed. However, the meat offered was disappointing. Lamb chops had literally 1/2" of meat on them. The other beef options were raw (not rare) inside. When they cut the meat from the skewers, the oils and juices splash on your clothing so be prepared. read more

TLDR; I don't recommend this place for groups of large families/friends based on my experience. Food; if you like really spicy food & really strong flavored food, then go and enjoy. Ambience; it's as loud as Cheesecake Factory. Service; only visit if you can sit as a small group of 4-5 people. There was much left to be desired but it was still a pretty good experience overall. Kelly helped us but we can tell genuine kindness vs "end of the day,i'm tired from working" mood. Whatever- at least she smiled. My irritation came from her taking away a utensil & drink set (which she was going to bring a plastic cup for the toddler but didn't) & she blamed us later saying it's probably on the table somewhere. She didn't even remember which person ordered what drink. Just bc the large parties (6+ ppl) automatically are charged 18% tip, doesn't mean we deserve less effort. But I digress- Let's just say it was the first and last time I'd be going. Not that the people were more terrible or the food was bad- it's just I think Brazilian bbq (maybe Brazilian food altogether) doesn't match my palate. I did try the dishes I wouldn't normally go for since it's the 1st time I tried Brazilian food; I had plenty of the salad & hot bar options. Idk if it was worth the AYCE pricing but let's just make it clear that it was obvious when people didn't want to deal with our size of group (11). We weren't louder than the other groups, the guac kept bringing out spicy picanha, Parmesan crusted chicken & picanha to us by randomly. She said she can bring out specific meat if we request but it's not like I saw her come by more than the guachos/gauchos. For the majority of our group, those dudes allowed 1 pc per meat choice per person. read more
