Went for my brother's birthday last week. This was an interesting buffet style experience. The vegi option was great but the main stars are the meat. I love their picanha style and the filet mignon. The lamb leg is a little rough and gamy to my taste. Server do check on you often and ask for your need, but the request does not always come through. We ask for ribs but never got them. Which bring to why only 4 stars, the meat does not come consistently, we basically took a bite of whatever was on the plate, then sit and waited 5-10 minutes before another meat type will come, but that might not be something you wanted so you will be waiting longer. The chessecake dessert at the end was good, so we will probably give the place another try. read more

Took my husband here tonight to celebrate his birthday, worst mistake!!!! Should have gone to Gen for some korean bbq!!!! My family and I are not new to the Brazilian Steakhouse scene, but we have not had Texas de Brazil. Will not be coming back. Per the menu on their website, there should have been 14 different kinds of meat walking around. We only had 6!!!! The same 6 kept coming. Nothing new. When they first came to our table with the filet mignon, it was raw in the middle. I asked for medium to medium well. They came back with 2 pieces, mind you my table is 4, and it was burnt. Almost every meat they would bring was raw. Asked our server for medium to medium well, they bring burnt. Salad area look like it had seen better days. Rice, beans, soup look like it had been sitting ALL day or it just wasn't in the pans. So sad! We love the Brazilian cheese bread at fogo de chao. Asked if they had that, the server was like yes, you are going to love them. Nope!!!! Cold, stale and hard as rock. My daughter could bounce them off the table‍‍‍. OMG! What a wonderful way to end our week on Oahu. The night started with the server, Steve, meeting us at the table, explaining the restaurant and getting drink orders. After helping ourselves to the sides and salads the gauchos arrived with the meats. At first it was a little slow with meat service but within 20 minutes it was a steady flow of several types of meats. Surprisingly, my favorite was leg of lamb roast but majority of family fell in love with the Pichana. Ended our meal with desserts. This was me and my husbands second visit, and I need to highly praise Steven who was our server last night. Steven was very kind and not only attentive to our table but all around the restaurant. Reservations were made months in advance for Valentine's Day dinner with my husband, so we were definitely looking forward to a smooth, romantic evening. When we arrived, we were told they were running about 20-25 minutes behind on reservations and were asked to wait outside. It was very crowded, with lots of couples waiting around, which made it feel a bit chaotic right from the start. When our name was finally called, it was hard to hear, and the hostess didn't linger to see if anyone responded. I thought I heard my name and sent my husband inside to check -- sure enough, they had called us. They did apologize and explained they were having trouble getting tables cleared and reset quickly enough due to delays with bussing. Totally understandable on a busy holiday, but it added to the initial stress. Once seated, things improved. Our waitress, Kelly, was genuinely kind and attentive. We weren't initially given a drink menu, but when we asked, she seemed surprised and quickly corrected it. She explained the dining process clearly and sent us off to the salad area. The salad bar is where this place really shines. It's far beyond your standard greens-and-dressing setup. There were grilled asparagus, green beans, balsamic tomatoes, specialty cheeses, and even a cinnamon pineapple dish that was surprisingly delicious. I'd heard the lobster bisque was a must-try, so I grabbed a bowl. The flavor was good, but it wasn't very hot, which took away from the overall experience. The meat service was plentiful and nonstop. As soon as we finished one selection, another gaucho would appear with something different. It felt like you never got the same cut twice, and there was always something new to try. If you're going for the full churrascaria experience, they definitely deliver on variety and abundance. Dessert, however, felt like another waiting game. When we said yes to seeing the dessert options, it took quite a while for the tray to arrive. Kelly came back multiple times to apologize, explaining that the dessert station was backed up. Once she finally presented the tray (probably about 10 minutes later), she thoroughly explained each option. I chose the banana foster pie. It took another 10 minutes to arrive. A super large salad bar, but we weren't there for the salad. Waitresses and waiters come around in Brazilian uniforms with many meat entrees to choose from. They try to keep the meats hot when they carry them around for service. Pros: 1) Seniors get a 20% discount. 2) Large salad bar. 3) We had an attentive waiter. 4) Entrees were kept at a good temperature and not cold since they are carried around to serve. Cons: 1) They don't accept online gift certificates. 2) A bit pricey, but the senior discount helps. 3) Dessert is not included. Would I go back? Yes, even with the price of dinner. This was our second time eating here and my first commen,t is that the service was way better than our 1st experience. Our waiter was very kind and attentive to our table, even after it got busy. He also did his best to get our favorites to the table. I'm not much of a beef eater and it seems as though the mostly cater to beef eaters. You can request items, but each time we did we had to wait a good amount time my husband requested the picanha multiple times after seeing it come out and never making it to our table, it didn't make it until we were ready to leave. Definitely a different experience from eating at Brazilian steakhouse's elsewhere, specifically Texas. I do want to be fair, my 3 star review is not because the place is terrible. This was our 3rd time visiting Texas De Brazil in Honolulu (we're locals). The first time with a large ground was actually awesome. The second time though as a couple, we had an efficient, but VERY grumpy waitress. She snapped at us multiple times and made every request seem so annoying. We decided to go last night for another try & while our waiter was cheerful, he was so neglectful of our table while focusing mostly on his larger tables. We barely got served the potato and cheese bread sides. No fries at all. And no side refills were offered. My husband was sadly still hungry near the end of our meal. Then we had to wait nearly 30 mins for our waiter to come back to order dessert and get the check. It just really sucked and is supremely disappointing to have had bad service 2/3 times when we're paying $150+ for a fancy date night meal. The food is yummy, but we've sadly decided now not to return due to the terrible service compared to the cost. My friend wanted to try this place out. It was his first time there. We went on a Tuesday for the kamaaina deal. I recommend to make reservations since it does get packed after 6:00pm. The meats were delicious. It was fresh and hot. I do prefer the cook on my meat to be medium to medium well and they were nice to accommodate that. Made a reservation a couple days in advance for 7pm and were seated a couple minutes before. Nice! and at that time, they were pretty bumpin already. The salad bar had a lot of choices. There were a lot of different things that I wanted to try, but had to make sure there was space for the meats. I'm not a big mushroom person, but I really liked the ones that they had. They also bring you some sides to the tables (fries, mashed potatoes, and the most delicious platanos ever. And they gave us a refill on those too. I tried about 9 meat items. I think I saw at least 12 being offered (declined trying the lamb items). I liked all the ones I tried.... the favorites being the flank and this other beef one that starts with a "p". That 2nd one every time I saw the gaucho walking by I had to flip my card to green. And to top this review off, the service was fantastic. I said I'd return when I was back home and I did! You're not currently able to make to-go orders online for the Hawaii location so we called in our order. I must say... the young lady who assisted me was the sweetest and was very courteous. While ordering I asked about the Brazilian cheese bread that comes with the to-go meal. She later called me back to advise that they were no longer including the bread with the meal so you had to order them separately (1/2 dozen, etc).. I mentioned that their website states that they come with the meal so I felt like they should honor that but she sweetly apologized. I understood that it wasn't her decision and ordered a dozen. She later called me back and informed me that the chef decided to not charge for the bread due to the issue and I really thought that was great of them to do that since it was advertised as such. We ordered 2 Churrasco Plate meals which start at $19 and come with your choice of 2 meats (some premium meat options require an additional cost), your choice of 2 sides and chimichuri sauce. As I mentioned, it may or may not come with a couple Brazillian cheese breads so you'd want to confirm. But if you have to pay for them I recommend you do so because they're yummy. For meats we selected Picanha, Garlic Picanha and Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon (all of which were additional cost). For sides we got Potato Salad, Scalloped Potatoes and Feijoada (Black Beans). Everything was delicious. I feel like their to-go plate option is great for the cost but that can increase depending on your meat selection. My absolute favorite meat selection is the Picanha so that was an extra $3.50 each and the Filet Mignon was an extra $9. My only thing is that I would've appreciated a little thicker cut of meat. read more

I have never left a review, this made me want to... I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, especially if you've been to other Brazilian steakhouses like fogo de chao, or cowboys. When we arrived to speak to the hostess about our reservation for 6 at 7:45pm she was scrolling through personal photos on her phone in very clear view. After being seated our waitress greeted us she was kind and did the best she could to help satiate us by continuously asking if we wanted more sides, but like most people that come to these, we wanted meat - that wasn't necessarily in her control. A man came by with a free drink for my brother because he had made an extra by accident, and the waitress came by asking to remove it from the table or we would pay for it? Which was just a really strange and confusing interaction. At some point a man came around who I can only assume was the manager? He told us that we should take our time and that we'd surely be filled before leaving. We got served maybe 6 total times, the flavor was alright, the meat was tough, but honestly I'm not picky just hungry, but it was just the fact that the frequency for what we were paying for made no sense, almost 80$ a person (tip/tax included) and we got next to no meat and a salad bar that was at best wilted, the best thing we had was bananas. At some point our waitress did ask if we wanted any more meat, and we did, she went to the back to talk to the servers and they returned with 2 sausages for a table of 6. I have no idea if this was some kind of joke but writing it down now I have to laugh honestly, what a wild thing to do. I just hope that this review makes it to people before they eat here, you should go anywhere else if you're looking to get quality food and fill up -- I highly, highly recommend Shabuya for that! It's hot pot, located in the same mall and you get plenty of food! The last thing I'll say about this place before I offer suggestions since it's asking what could be improved, when the manager came around I let him know about how little we were given all he could say was he was sorry and it was too late for him to do anything, he was hoping we would leave saying "wow". We did not, no where close. Horrible experience dining here, please save your money and go anywhere else. For improvements, I think really it was the frequency the servers or gaucho need to come around more often, if 7:45pm is too close to closing time which is 9pm there should be some type of disclaimer when making a reservation warning guests that they will be served a much more limited menu, perhaps adjusting prices for that? There are lots of improvements to be made here, but I think that's bare minimum. When the manager said he wished we left thinking wow, I just wish we left feeling full. $70 for ayce steak. This was my first time here, or a Brazilian steak house in general I think. We made reservations for 5 at 5 on Friday night and it wasn't busy at all. Even though we were 20 mins late - traffic!! - they still saved our table. Our waiter was very nice and gave us the run down of how things worked. They are constantly bringing around meat even if our cards were flipped to red! I wanted to try everything and I purposefully got very little from the salad bar but I was so full after about 30-45 mins! The flank steak was my favorite. I thought everything was well seasoned, cooked well, and fresh. Nothing was cold - besides the salad/side bar. I think them bringing French fries, mashed potatoes, cinnamon sugar bananas, and cheese bread to the table before the meat comes is just over kill. It's wasteful. I got the alcoholic Brazilian lemonade and their signature cocktail. They were strong but went down like water. My bill was $102 for ONE PERSON!! That is INSANE. I visited this restaurant for my last birthday, and I am so glad I did. There is an extensive salad bar, including cheese and cold cuts! The meat selection is also varied and delicious. I liked the steak/beef selections the most, especially the picanha. The trick is to limit the carb intake so you can partake in the protein!!! The service was good, in that the servers came around with the meats pretty consistently. I had no issues with getting enough to eat or drink - in fact, I was very stuffed and satisfied heading out of the restaurant. Service was friendly, especially the servers handing out the meat! The interior of the restaurant is really pretty, and I felt like it was roomy enough for us on a date night. I can see how it can feel a bit cramped if you have kiddos or a large party, but it was fine for us. Fantastic service, great salad bar selection, and meats were so delicious. My favorite is the garlic picanha and house picanha. We got seated at the back table by the server's come out and it was the best seat in the house as we were getting all the meats right of the rack. Some notable side dishes were the lobster bisque, the house cheese bread, roasted garlic, the banana dessert, pineapple slices. The price is on the high side but you pay for what get and I do feel it is worth the price. I wish the desserts were included but they are an extra charge. Will definitely be returning! Ambiance The restaurant has a modern and stylish interior that creates a comfortable yet upscale dining experience. Food We chose the buffet and all-you-can-eat meats, and it exceeded expectations. The buffet was full of fresh salads, sides, and plenty of options to complement the meats. The lamb was the highlight of the night--tender, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We enjoyed it so much that I found myself skipping the beef just to have more lamb. Unlike some churrasco-style restaurants where servers can be slow or portions feel limited, here the meats came out generously and consistently, which made the experience even better. You definitely get your moneys worth! By the end our meal we were all too stuffed to even think of deserts however our waitress came by, showed us all of the desert options and said if we're too full we can take home! I was way too full to even think of it but all four of us chose one to eat the next night! So nice! Service The service was outstanding. Our waitress, originally from Argentina, was incredibly attentive--she checked in often, replaced our plates with clean ones, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. On top of that, the manager came by twice to ask how we were doing and even offered to bring out specific cuts of meat for us.
