The steak here is insanely good. It's perfectly buttery with just the right amount of peppery flavor. I loved that it's served on a hot stone sizzling plate, it stays warm and makes the whole experience feel a little extra. Service was also super quick, which I appreciated. The mashed potatoes were creamy and comforting, and the steak sauce paired really well with everything. It's a bit on the pricier side, but honestly not bad for a simple, solid steak meal. Definitely worth it if you're craving something satisfying without all the fuss.

This was my 1st time trying Piikoi Steak and I have to say it was an amazing experience. Located across from Ala Moana next to Side Street Inn, they have three stalls next to the restaurant and a parking structure across the building. I didn't know what to expect going in but the interior is simple and upscale. Luckily we came early and were seated immediately. Our server Sheva was upbeat and friendly. She explained the menu and also gave us tips on how best to enjoy the food. Their menu consists of either a 7oz or 10.5oz Beef Steak or Pork Chop, or a combination of the two. Each option comes with salad and a choice of either Japanese Rice, Mashed Potatoes or Baguette. We ordered the 10.5oz steak, 10.5 oz pork chop, mashed potatoes, Japanese rice, whipped garlic cream, pineapple sorbet and vanilla bean ice cream. They recommend the steak be rare or medium rare because it comes out on a hot plate and continues to cook as you eat. The steak was so tender and pairs well with the whipped garlic cream and steak sauce. The pork to me was tender but needed more seasoning. Next time we will order two steaks instead. The mashed potatoes are silky smooth and more neutral in flavor to contrast against the flavorful steak and accompaniments. I highly recommend adding garlic chips to the mashed potatoes to add an extra crunch and kick. Their sorbet and ice cream comes with homemade cornflake cereal that adds the perfect crunch. The pineapple sorbet is surprisingly creamy for a sorbet, super refreshing and not tart. Their vanilla ice cream is smooth and you can taste the vanilla bean. 10/10 will definitely come again!

Large table for a bigger group

The ambiance in this quaint little restaurant is casual & intimate. A great place for lunch/dinner with a friend or a date! As you enter there is a large table for a larger group. There is a little private room to the left (Not sure how many it can seat, as it was behind a curtain). The main dining area has about 5 tables that seat 2-4 people each. The menu is just 1 page. We got the large steak & the large pork chop, each came with a choice of 1 free topping. We got the garlic cream for the steak & daikon & ponzu for the pork chop. Each meal came with a salad & a drink included. The entrees came out pretty quick on sizzling platters. They smelt amazing! The toppings paired perfectly with our entrees. There was complimentary garlic chips & steak sauce on the table. I didn't know it was steak sauce & poured some in the daikon & ponzu... but, it made for a perfect sauce for the pork chop! Just trust me & try it together! The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare & the pork chop medium. We didn't get to try their homemade ice cream, because we were stuffed. Maybe next time! Overall, ambience was nice & intimate, service was very attentive, and the food was delicious! Both the steak & the pork chop were tender & juicy. We will definitely be back! Oh, I almost forgot. There are a few parking stalls right up against the restaurant. But, if those are full, there is a few street parking & the pay parking right behind the restaurant (where Ichiriki, Do Won, Airpark Karaoke, etc. are).

Stopped by Piikoi Steak on Piikoi Street for lunch craving some premium beef. Opted for what they called their Washugyu steak - the American Wagyu-style cut that's supposed to be super marbled and juicy. It arrived sizzling on the hot iron plate with that Japanese sauce, looking promising alongside mashed potatoes and Japanese rice. The steak had nice tenderness and flavor from the marbling, but it was overseasoned for my taste, and the portion felt small for the price in Honolulu. Service was quick and friendly in the casual spot, but the limited menu (mostly beef or pork) left me wanting more sides or options. Decent for a quick steak fix near downtown, but I've had better Wagyu elsewhere - worth trying if you're nearby, just manage expectations.

Overall rating: Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Food: 10/10 Me and my friends had a good time at Piikoi Steak House. Hopefully they'll continue this business since I heard this is a pop up restaurant. There's only one sever but she very friendly and attentive. They have a simple menu. All the meal comes with a set with salad and rice/mashed potato or baguette. I picked mashed potato and it tastes very smooth and creamy. The beef steak and pork chop steak are very tender and juicy. I would highly recommend this steak house.

Popup till end of 2025 so go check them out before it's gone! I hope they find a permanent spot because I enjoyed my meal there! Definitely casual steak because the cut wasn't anything fancy, as reflected in the prices. The decor inside looked fancy though as it's formerly a high end restaurant that specialized in truffle dishes. However I had a great experience still even though I had better steak elsewhere. I love how it's served on a hot iron skillet with paper wrapping around it containing the splatter. The corn that went with it was such a great side dish. Salad was ok, the dressing was too vinegary for me. Don't forget to get their whipped garlic cream! Goes so well with the steak and everything! Also appreciate how the rice was delicious too! The lady who served me was very friendly. Even though she's a native Japanese speaker who spoke broken English, she's very nice and tried to make a conversation with me too. Great spot for a $25 steak that you don't have to grill yourself!

Tried this pop-up steak spot and was seriously impressed. For a pop-up, the quality was top tier--the steak was cooked perfectly, juicy, and well-seasoned, with a great sear and lots of flavor.

Limited alcohol options, service was ok. Parking situation sucks maybe 5 stalls at best, you may get lucky with street parking. My steak and pork combo was ok, the valentines day 7 oz steak was great. Interesting presentation for your sides, I had mashed potatos, and the wife had rice, you'll have to experience it to see.

Always want to try new place. This place opened former(?!) Margotto( which had a problem and closed but they said renovation and gonna reopen, I'm not sure it's true or not) and Japanese style good price steak restaurant. They don't take a reservation, so I and my friend arrived just five minutes before they open. As a name, this place is located on Piikoi St. and easy to find. Inside is still looks like Margotto( even mini sign was still there), cozy and simple. Their menu is very simple, beef steak (two size choice), pork chop(two size choice?, and combo. All plates include fresh salad, original steak sauce and one side of your choice: Japanese Rice or Mashed Potato or Baguette. We ordered beef steak 7oz(200g) with rice and Da Hawaii Life Lite LagerBeer. The staff (I saw only one gal) is very friendly and nice hospitality. (Japanese standard customer service) Beer and salad served shortly. And our steak came! Very sizzling (came with cover) and pour the steak sauce on the hot plate. It was so fun! The rice is Japanese rice and good match with steak! The beef steak was little tough but as this price, no complain. It's not high end steakhouse. But I think some people is going to complain about beef quality. So, if they do Japanese style steak, what about Hamburg steak!? (Grind this steak meat and make) Japanese Hamburg steak is the best! And their steak sauce is also good match with Hamburg steak. There are some steak plate lunch in HI but I don't know Japanese Hamburg steak restaurant in HI. Anyway, price and service are very good. So, I'd like to come back and try to Pork chop next time.

$35 for a 10.5 oz Steak on a sizzling plate that comes with rice, salad, Japanese steak sauce, garlic chips, and garlic butter.

This popped up on my IG feed and it looked great. My family and I decided to try it while we were on vacation. I'm glad we decided to go. When you walk in, the ambiance is a modern steak house feel, but the prices are affordable. The 7 oz steak was $25 and a 10.5 oz steak was $35. It out on a sizzling plate that comes with corn, rice, salad, Japanese steak sauce, garlic chips, and garlic butter. We ordered a side of mashed potatoes, which was smooth and creamy. It tasted great especially the price that you pay. The service was excellent. Our waitress was super friendly to our kids and was fantastic with everything. If you're in Hawaii, check this place out. It's fantastic and worth a Lyft ride over.

    A small salad included

The taste and quality of the steak was only average, but it's good value for money. I wish there could be an in-house sauce going on top of the steak because it was not juicy and even a little dry. Side dishes were also limited with no green vegetables to choose from. Server was attentive but a little pushy.

Combo of pork and beef steak with corn on the side.

Best Japanese style steakhouse in Hawaii. It's a cozy setting with a few tables. They have either beef or pork steak. Their sauce is superb. A Japanese take on a grated onion soy sauce given to you and you pour it onto your steak on a hot cast iron plate. It's delicious. Get extra rice because the portion of rice feels a bit small. Very attentive service. I recommend highly if you're ever in the mood for steak (beef or pork they're both absolutely scrumptious).

Not only did they offer a beat-up chair that he could sit directly on, they gave him ICE water and his own chopped-up plate of steak! It looked so good my husband wanted to sneak a bite, and it was enough for a large dog, so my puppy made a 'doggy bag' and ate it over a week! We knew this was the spot to have his 1st birthday party! Booked a table, and again he got his doggy chair, water, and steak! I'd say to plan ahead and order as soon as you sit down because the food did take quite a long time.
