Due to the cutout in the counter, this brand was our only option. Come to find out...this particular cooktop would not be available until the end of March. That was *until* calling Larry at Hurst TV & appliance. Larry had taken my name and number and was going to see if he could order one for me. We were getting so desperate we were going to redo the granite in our kitchen and get another brand of cooktop. Larry calls and asks if we were still looking for a cooktop! I told him we were installing granite in the kitchen *just* to get a cooktop. He offers me his floor model. Then he apologized for not thinking of it earlier! We were floored (no pun intended). It was by far cheaper than another brand we would have pick too!!! The gentleman Keith who installed it for us a few days later. What a delightful man too. Since I saw that Conns had a lowest price guarantee, I brought a printout to see if they would honor their pricing guarantee. The sales guy reminded me of a used car salesman at a low end car lot. No product knowledge evident here. He confirmed my credit line but with a different amount that the original lady I spoke to last week. After some back and forth with his manager (just like a car lot), he told me that he could honor the lower price. He tried to get me to pay the listed price and said that I could come back within 30 days for an extra 10% of the price difference (about $9). I guess he gets a better commission if he does not have to honor the price guarantee. I then asked about how I would make payments on the credit account. Their accounting system is straight out of the 1980's. Mailing a check or bringing a check to their store are their preferred methods. No internet payments here. I then asked about their free delivery. It's only free if I pay for it first and then mail in a rebate form. Since this rebate game often results in lost or misplaced forms, I don't care for this nonsense. Overall, Conns is like a low end car lot. I took my business elsewhere.

Our washer needed a new drain pump, and I also thought the drain hose was full of gunk enough to go ahead and change out as well (since the machine was getting opened up already). Went to get my clothes from our dryer only to find them still wet no heat at all. So I called Sears…read morewhere I had bought it from. They seemed pricey and would take 3 days to come out. So I found HEB appliance repair called Jacob he asked me a few questions about the dryer. And told me what was most likely wrong with it and the reasons the heat might have failed and gave me a estimate before hand. He came out fixed the element and even told me about the importance of good air flow from the dryer. He noticed that my dryer duct hose was way too long cut it down to a shorter size and hooked back up for me. His service was much cheaper than the quote Sears had given me previously. He will be my go to guy the next time I need my washer or dryer repaired.
