Our washer needed a new drain pump, and I also thought the drain hose was full of gunk enough to go ahead and change out as well (since the machine was getting opened up already). He didn't have a hose on hand, but made a second trip (without charging extra for the additional drive) and got it all taken care of for a reasonable price.
