Wow! If you want your time respected and valued- then definitely do not go here! I waited 45 minutes for my appointment to start, and when it did after the technician took her notes, another 45 minutes locked in the office waiting for the doctor! I understand doc offices get behind a little, but that's ridiculous! The building might be pretty and new but a serious time waster. read more

My review is for the optical center. This is the first time I visited Texan Eye. I really wish I had read the reviews before choosing to go to Texan Eye - however, I will say that I was extremely pleased with Dr Kerns, her assistant, and the front desk staff. They were all very pleasant, my appointment time was on time, and Dr Kerns was very patient, I felt that she truly cared about me. I had a very poor experience with the optical center at the Cedar Park location. I have very bad vision and it's usually a little challenging to fit me for eyeglasses, I will admit that, but I am never snarky or impatient with opticians. The experience I had is a long story and I won't explain all the details, but in short my glasses needed to be returned to the lab twice. The manager must have been unable to clearly communicate the correct instructions to the lab they use and after 8 weeks we all decided to part ways with a refund. I have a really good feeling that they didn't send my glasses back to the lab on the 2nd occasion and actually just left my glasses sit in their office for 3 weeks until I called asking for an update, because when I went in to pick them up they were in the exact same condition they were in the very first time I picked them up, and the 1st change was gone. In fact the manager of the optical center told me directly that she would "not send my glasses back to the lab again if I wasn't satisfied again." I really feel like she never returned them to the lab that 2nd time just to be snarky. So after 8 weeks I'm still without my new prescription which is very frustrating. It seems like the employees of the optical center are on an island and aren't managed professionally, it's as if they think this is their own business and they can do whatever they want to do without regard to the impact on the business. I usually buy 2 pairs of glasses every 2 years and it's usually about $1,000, my out of pocket cost, then there is insurance that is filed, so the revenue to the optical center is usually about $1,300. The financial impact on Texan Eye from just me is about that, in addition to the review I am placing here, as well as my word of mouth. As a small business owner myself, I would highly recommend investing in good employees because they are your whole business. read more

Been going to Dr. Wagner for years - driving from Cedar Park to the now closed office in Georgetown. Dr. Wagner did my cataract surgery on both eyes......excellent results. Since I live in Cedar Park (Not San Francisco) I was thrilled to see the Cedar Park office open. I have been there twice.....once for the annual exam by Dr. Wagner and for a consult with Dr Khan. Both times the wait time was negligible and the front desk staff and medical assistants couldn't have more professional and friendly. As for the doctors, Dr. Wagner is simply the best. Dr. Khan just did my surgery a few days ago, so I'll do a review on that after my four week visit. I would recommend Cedar Park Texan Eye - and Dr. Wagner - to anyone needing eye care. read more

The doctors and staff at the Bastrop location are very nice. The pricing, however, is insane. With my AARP discount, a full exam was $45. Great. Love it. I injured my eye recently and the brief visit with the doctor was $87. Ok. I can handle that. The 5 minute follow up was $150.00. After complaining heartily, they bumped that down to $105.00. The scheduling also is very difficult. Count on being on hold for at least 10 minutes trying to get an appointment. read more

I wish I would have looked up a review of this place before I went there. I couldn't agree more with the other people! If I could give this place a -5 (MINUS FIVE) stars I would! Though the assistant was good (and she really did all the work), Dr. Sergeant was the worst eye doctor I've ever been in contact with. Actually, I'm not sure that I could even call what we had "contact" because she did not even address me EVER! I asked her whether my prescription had changed and she didn't even had time to answer because she was already on her way out the door after 5 mins with me! Her cell phone rang and she didn't even turn around to finish answering my question. In the end, I went there because I wanted to see and ophthalmologist and not an optometrist... I would've been better off with an optometrist because at least I would have been able to ask questions and get answers. This is a horrible place! Avoid it! Find a place where they have more respect for patients. read more

Dr. Godara helped me and got rid of eye infection and my dry eye issue. She is both very caring and was able to explain what I needed to do in plain English not medical speak to cure it. I came to this office because they are covered by my health plan; not knowing what a great doctor she is. I am so glad I came to Dr. Godara. I had gone twice to my previous eye doctor in CA who said the issue would go away and did not prescribe anything to help with the discomfort . After 3 months I still had an infection. I was persistent and determined to get this eye infection cured. If it was not for Dr. Godara, i would probably still be searching for a good eye physician. Having a good eye physician is important as you only have one set of eyes. I highly recommend her. read more

I keep writing reviews in hopes that it gets posted. I wish I would have read the reviews before going to work there. It would have saved me a lot of time and I would have been able to spend more time looking for a better place to work. I don't doubt that the Dr's are good, but, I witnessed on the other side, (business side). The people in charge are very unprofessional and are rude to customers, and employees. It is just a cattle call or better yet an assembly line operation. They only want to get patients in and out as fast as they can so they can say we saw 112 patients before lunch. YES, 112 patients before lunch.....Not to mention what that does to the front desk people working there, and the stress. As for their training, the techs have no eye experience before they work there, It is OTJ training. I don't know about you but, I would like to know that they have some experience, at least some friendliness training. They are so stressed to see so many patients, they don't have to time to hardly help the patient with concerns. Don't go there and certainly don't work there. read more

I had cataract surgery on both eyes and had lenses put in; one for distance and one for reading. I could not be happier! Dr. Tom Walters did an outstanding job and even did some follow up work to clear my vision further. I had been wearing glasses for over 60 years and now don't need glasses at all. i highly recommend Texan Eye and Dr. Walters. They are true professionals. read more

I have been using the same Opthalmologists for about 20 years. I loved all the Drs. ( Plunkett and Wollan) as well as the front desk people and techs. Everyone was welcoming and so easy to deal with. Unfortunately, I had to change to a different insurance and could no longer go to Eye Physicians of Austin. I picked Texan Eye because it was close to home. Today I went to my first apt. The woman at the front desk was really sweet,welcoming and just what I expect at a Dr. office. The tech that took care of me was also friendly and seemed to know exactly what she was doing. Dr Marquis was also nice. I guess over the last 20 years or so I was able to build a relationship with Dr. Plunkett and Dr. Wollan. I hope that I can do the same with Dr. Marquis. My only issue here was with the person that checked me out. I have NEVER had to deal with insurance " referrals" before this year. Dr Marquis wanted to see me back in 6 weeks. He said that he didn't think that I would need another referral ,but to be sure I asked the lady at the desk. She did say that my authorization ran until Dec.31. I understood that, but as I was checking out, I did ask to be 100% sure that I would not need another authorization. She seemed to lose patience with me, became irritated, turned around and made a copy of the prior auth. from BCBS. I apologized, I told her that I haven't had to deal with prior authorizations before. She told me that "The Dr.should have given me the paper". I just felt that I was bothering her. Actually the very first thing she said to me was," It's going to be a long time until someone can call your prescription in". I said that was fine,and her reply was "Well,just in case you thought it would be ready in an hour". As I said earlier, everyone at the office was friendly enough. It is a nice facility, but I realize that it takes some time to get to know each other. They were satisfactory for a first timer. The only negative was the lady at the checkout. I hope she was just having a bad day. I am a retired RN. I DO UNDERSTAND that sometimes people ask what we think are stupid questions. I just wanted to be certain that I didn't show up at my apt. and be surprised that I had to pay a large fee at Christmas time. I honestly hope that today was just one of " those days" for this lady. read more

I agree with the other reviews- this place is pretty terrible. We see a lot of specialists between my son and I so we know what's up when we visit an office. We waited over an hour in the waiting room- which by the sounds of the other reviews is typical of this place. I have never waited an hour for an optometrist. Ever. This is poor scheduling and management that could be easily remedied if they cared. We finally get called back- not even a hi or sorry for the wait. The assistant is cold and even huffs when I ask if my two children could wait by the door during one of the exams. We get pulled back to the room to see the doc and same story. Spends about a minute and a half in the room- doesn't ask if I have any questions or concerns and leaves. The only reason this place gets one star is because the second test they did was handled by a different assistant- and she was really friendly and awesome to the kids. The receptionist is also very nice. Overall- steer clear of this place. You can do so much better. We go to so many healthcare offices and the coldness from the employees here is just so atypical. read more

This was my first eye exam in 2 years and I went to a different place this time since it was close to my new job. The Physician I had was very friendly and helpful but I wish I could say that about all of the staff. The woman at the front desk is not only unhelpful, she is just down right rude! She seemed like she didn't want to be there and that she had other, more important, things to attend to. On top of that she was eating food at her desk while the lobby was full and customers were coming in, not sanitary for a medical facility that preforms surgeries! But to put the cheery on top, the billing and insurance communication between the office is far below par. I went in and handed them my medical insurance card and told them, "I do not have vision insurance but that I should have some coverage, can you check this for me?" She did and told me all I had to pay was a $50 co-pay. I did and proceded to continue with the exam. 2 weeks later I get a bill and it says I owe $30 and there is no explaination on the bill. I go in to discuss it with the office and all they can tell me is that it is a "refraction" fee. I asked why I was being billed again since I already paid and I was told it was because my insurance did not cover that portion. Never have I had an eye exam that billed me 2 weeks after the fact. Besids that, not once was a bill breakdoown given to me for services that were preformed and after doing research of my own most medical insurance policies DO NOT cover refraction fees. So why is it no one expressed this ahead of time? The place could use a morale and management boost. This was not my first eye exam and wont be my last, but it will be my last one here! read more
