The relative dearth of reviews on this business is a shame because it really is a great business.
After moving into a new home, I realized that there were ethernet ports in each of the bedrooms. Eager to get them working, I tried to read various DIY how-to guides but didn't make much progress. At this point I decided to call around to various home entertainment companies (it's not clear who does these jobs) to see what they could do. One of them quoted an estimate of $600 to get the ports functional again after I sent some photos. I was a little hesitant at this price point, so I decided to call another company--TexaGreen. I got Yves on the phone who said Fred could come by that afternoon to look at it. A couple hours later, Fred arrives, looks everything over and then says he has an idea that could circumvent the process of threading news wires into the walls; it would cost about $250. A little skeptical, I agreed, and he came back next week with what I can only describe as two magical devices that he plugged into electrical outlets by the router and the ethernet switch. Sure enough, we suddenly had ethernet. It has persisted even when the wifi is spotty, so it seems legitimate.
This is all to say that Fred has a good mind for solving things simply and a good repository of options at his disposal that others might not have. Fred said he had 20 (30?) years of experience in the business before moving to Austin, and it shows. I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years this is a well-established business with more than a few reviews. read more
