We used ATS for a number of issues 2 years ago. Called again to get our Starlink installed. Mario came out, looked at the job, sent a bid which needed to be paid in full to get on the calendar. After multiply reschedules install day was arrived and a different (easier) location was selected. But could not be completed that day because of the heat. Multiply reschedules again, and John came out, completed the job. My complaint is there were pieces of equipment we paid for, but not need not were they used. I upgraded to a 4k DirecTV box and immediately realized that I also needed to upgrade my surround sound receiver to keep the surround sound system working with the 4k box. At the same time, I decided I wanted to hardwire and wall-mount my rear speakers A quick search of A/V companies in Austin led me to Mario at Austin Tech. He came over within a few days of my call to assess the job and provide a quote. I was replacing a Denon receiver and he recommended the Denon AVR-S960H Pro and a great pair of KEF ultra-thin speakers. After I approved the quote, we scheduled a time and technicians came out. The job was more difficult than it seemed, as they had to run the wire through the attic, outside and back into the wall, but they were quick, efficient and, overall, did an excellent job. Based on my experience, I highly recommend Austin Tech. I found Mario to be very knowledgeable and his technicians were friendly and professional. Mario not only did a great job with our tv mount/install, but he went above and beyond just installing our TV. He noticed my wife working on breaking down our son's large bed and stopped his work on removing the tv from our old mount to help her with the bed. He lent her tools and helped her move the large pieces, all without even being asked. That was all on top the terrific install at our new house. The new mounting location required him to remove a large rebar reinforced mantle without damaging the surrounding stonework. He applied that same finesse while installing the TV mount protecting the stonework around the mount location as well. We couldn't be happier with the installation. Hired Mario for home theater installation...big mistake, I should have looked more closely at his negative reviews on yelp before giving him the project. Very unprofessional never on time, 1 day project took 3 days and still incomplete. Never finished the work that was written on the invoice. Projector not installed properly it's at an angle to the wall and not projecting onto the screen correctly. He said that we have warranty and can call anytime, have been trying for the past 3-4 weeks and no response to texts or calls. He might be ok to do small projects like installation of tv or something, but would definitely not recommend for big projects or home theater installation. Hopefully he will be better responsive to other customers and finish projects as promised otherwise he might not have any customers soon. Glad to see you replying to the review so fast Mario, when you have not been replying to your messages or phone. Before you say I am Lying, show me where is the CAT6 cable that you were supposed to install, where is the picture and sound calibration done all of which were in the invoice. For the estimate appointment that had been canceled? that you showed up for anyway? and on top of that, showed up late? I graciously went ahead and kept the appointment, even though you had agreed to reschedule. I got out of my car, as I was leaving my home when you arrived, and walked back inside to do the estimate with you. If I saw a reply written like yours on a merchant's site, I would not do business with that person based on principle. Spell check, heard of it? In regard to the work being tampered with, how would you know? you and your crew NEVER returned to my home, even after scheduling multiple appointments and not showing up for any of them. For a guy claiming to have high standards, straight up lying in your reply is pretty low. For the record, nobody touched any of the work your crew did, and in fact, to touch the work you did, we would have to tear in to our own walls to do so. Lame.. Do you pay your helpers $200 an hour? $600 for 3 hours of incomplete work done by two helpers is unreasonable. Plus, your helpers used existing wires for most of the work anyway. When I paid you, it was understood to be a part of the payment for the work done, and the work to come. Since you never returned for the additional work, I did not feel I should pay as much as the original estimate since you in no way fulfilled your promise to complete the work in a timely fashion, or for that matter, to complete the work at all! You know my address, you could have returned the antenna at any point. You never asked to come by, so your "No response" comment is in fact, another lie. I wanted to get two TVs wall mounted and have ethernet and coax cables added to several rooms in a completed house. I got several bids and Mario was the most reasonable one I received. He was extremely flexible with my schedule and was able to start the project quickly. I found him very easy to reach when I had several questions on the bid. He returns emails and texts promptly. Once we agreed on the job he always arrived on time and kept me informed during the process. He made several good suggestions such as adding a small shelf and punch panel in my closet to help better organize my set-up. I agree to these and I think he did a great job. His team completed the job on Monday with a few snags, but they quickly made it right with out having to ask, no hesitation what so ever their part. Outstanding service! This team was able to work within my budget and provide me the professional home theater installation that I was looking for. I had 5 Bose in-ceiling speakers installed. I called around and received hesitation and high estimates from other technicians since my home is two-story, not pre-wired, and out of range from their normal commuting distance. Mario did not find any of that to be an issue. He came to the house and provided me a quote immediately. Within 2 days he got the job done! I needed Cat6 cable installed throughout my house but I wasn't up to the task. I contacted Austin Tech Services and Mario came by the next day to take a look and give me an estimate. He and Jordan did a fantastic job running wire through the attic and into all of the rooms. I realized how difficult a job it was when they had to cut drywall and drill through multiple studs in order to run cable to the first floor. The job was top notch and they even swept and cleaned up after they were finished. I plan to contact Mario in the near future for speaker installation and anything else I can think of. I'm giving one star because I dont have an option to give less than that... One of my friend contacted Mario via Amazon services and he came to do their work and my friend gave Mario my contact because I was also looking to get Home theater setup. Mario immediately called me next morning and informed me that he spoke to my friend and is willing to come over and take a look at what needs to be done at my work and give me an estimate, he comes and takes a look and gives me an estimate. I accepted what his estimate (that includes home theater wiring and he said he will purchase Router and infra-red remote). He sent 3 of his guys to my house to start the work on 31st Dec, they did not speak english and it was very hard for me to communicate. They started work and after installing speakers, they were Idle and when I asked them why they are not working, they mentioned they are waiting for Mario to come to move forward, Finally Mario arrives at 2 PM, by the time these guys were hungry, looking at them I offered them food, since it was Dec 31st mario said they will leave at 4PM, and he asked me for some money so that he can pay them..I gave him 50% of agreed cost and also accidentally i ordered extra projector screen which I asked if he can take it, he offered me half the price which I agreed to because I didn't want to go through all return policies. He took money and screen and said workers will come back on Saturday (Jan 2nd). I waited for them to come on Jan 2nd, I sent him multiple text messages, calls no response, finally he calls me back on tuesday and says his guys are no longer working for him and he will get back to me...days pass by, he never calls me, i tried to reach out to him, after several deadlines and missed appointments, he comes to house at 4 PM on Sunday (thats a week after) he comes his nephew...try to remember what needs to be done, tries to hook up projector and says he needs some extra parts to buy..and he asks for more money (infact he wants remaining balance), I said i cant give...he says he needs cash..I made a mistake and gave him half of remaining balance, he says he will purchase some more items and get back to me next day...that day never came...I call him multiple times and text messages...finally he responded saying he could have come if I gave him remaining balance money!!! What a Joke... I know I have been cheated, but just wanted to get this review out so that everyone is aware of what happened...please be cautious. Mario - I know you have a business, I hate to write negative reviews, but what you have done is just cheating...Do question me if there is anything that I mentioned is wrong. I would have given this company ZERO star but Yelp does not have it! This company is a very bad, inexperienced, and terrible one. Stay away and run as fast as you can! My nightmare with Mario began on 2/3/2016 right before the super bowl Sunday. I had planned to invite a group of friends coming over to have a Superbowl party and watch it on a big TV, which projects images upside down. The TV is tied to a crestron system which sends signals to a few TVs in the house. I called Mario who assured me that he is an expert of the system. Saturday, 2/4 Mario shown up. Not only he has NO clue how to fix the problem, he literally ruined our entire system meaning that the entire house have no TVs. Our family ended up canceling the party. I demanded that he would back to fix his mess and get our TVs back. He promised me and said, oh, my programmer can come next week to fix it. What is worse is that Mario is a pathetic liar. Since 2/5, he would call or txt me daily and said we are coming to fix it. I left work and went home to wait on 2/6, 2/7 and 2/8, he did not show up. I called and txt him, he would say, oh, I will be at your home at 3pm, never shown up. He kept leading me on by calling me and txting me that he would come tomorrow. Tomorrow came, he did not show up. When I told him that I would share my nightmare on Yelp and other online places, he would txt me again and promised to come. Lie, lie and lie. Never show up. I'm genuinely glad everyone else here apparently had a good experience with this company; unfortunately I did not. I was supposed to have just an initial consultation on a Saturday with Mario just coming to my house to look at where my Cat 6 cable was to be installed, etc. Installation would take place later that week. I understand it was raining pretty heavily that Saturday, but he made no effort to proactively call or text me saying he was running two hours late because of another pending job. I totally understand delays due to circumstances like that, but *I* had to text, then several minutes later call, him to find this out. Then a couple of hours passed after that, then finally he texted me saying it was raining too bad that day, but he offered to meet me the next day, Sunday after church, around 12:00 or a little after. NO WORD from him - not a text, call, nothing, from 12:00 PM to the end of the night. Totally unacceptable. So I totally fired this company (without bothering to say a word, I think they deserve the same treatment) and went with a competitor, who was able to schedule me in the same day I was planning the installation, emailed me right away with an estimate (no need for a separate in-home consultation as my project is very basic and cut-and-dry), indulged me to email them in advance with a list of questions, and the owner called me back the day before the installation and graciously spent about 30 minutes on the phone answering all my questions. Assuming the installation goes well tomorrow, THAT company will be getting my five-star review. read more
