Went to Tesla to test drive and purchase a new Tesla. I was very excited about the opportunity. I showed up to the dealership in Seaside and could not find a parking spot. They ultimately had me park in a charging station, which were all full at the time. My husband parked in a gravel road where they had all the cars being sold or test driven. Test drove two cars. The cars were awesome. However, the car was dirty. I've never had this experience in a car dealership before in my life. Went into the restroom and it was filthy worse than a McDonald's. Just took me out of the mood of buying a car. I'm gonna hold for now. How can a dealership represent the quality of the vehicle I don't think it does in this case, but that dealership was just horrible. read more

The Tesla in Monterey is great. The 1 star reviews are nowhere near what I've experienced with Franco and Monterey Tesla. I've brought my Cyberbeast in for a few warranty issues and they have fixed them quickly and given me a loaner at times. Once, they were out of loaners but gave me an Uber ride. This last appointment to get my cybertruck Lightbar installed, they loaned me a new Model X. My wife loved it and we are ordering her one this weekend. Smart move on the service teams part! We've spent close to $230k on the 2) teslas since June 2024 I've brought a 2018 Model X, 2021 Model Y and my new cybertruck to them over the past 5 years and not had a negative experience. This Tesla makes you feel like a VIP and communication is great. Requesting service in the app is easy, they respond quickly, and are friendly. The bad reviews I think are probably 1 of several things 1- fake accounts that hate Elon 2-customers that possibly don't know the differences in Tesla vehicle sales vs dealership models. Or 3- elderly people that aren't familiar with modern vehicles. read more

OK people - My wife live in Healdsburg but were visiting Carmel for the day... My wife noticed a noise and I pulled over at 4pm on a Saturday and there was a nail in our tire. I called this location and spoke to Fernando. He said man if you can bring it in we are here until 5pm and I can take a look. We got there while our tire was losing pressure. He greeted me warmly and got to work so kindly. He told us to go chill out in the waiting area and he has it from here. 30 minutes later we were out of there with a fixed/patched tire and we had no issues on the 3 plus hour drive home. First things first. That is amazing by Fernando and the service team at this location. So kind, so easy and just the best experience I have probably ever had with a car in my life. I cannot thank this group enough. I will add we charged here while sipping on coffee in the waiting room and some snacks. It was clean and nice to chill out in while we waited. I just cannot thank Fernando and the team/service tech there enough. It made out day for sure! Thank you team! read more

Edited review. Brought my cyber beast in for four different issues. Tesla only fixed one and diagnosed the others as "they actually couldn't find a problem." They have had my vehicle for five days. Didn't fix a thing that I asked. Didn't call me to check in and didn't ask me any questions about The malfunctions. Expect me to come pick up a vehicle with their diagnosis answers...that they couldn't find a problem! Unbelievably the worst service department I've ever dealt with in the state of California. Looking to file against them with the state tomorrow. This place is a joke. Franco doesn't listen or help with anything here. Not sure how somebody like this could keep a job. read more

I don't know if it is Tesla as a whole or this location. But the service is terrible. Made an appt to get a leak looked at. Was detailed in my description. Got a confirmation of the appt along with an estimate because my Model X is about 6 months out of warranty, which was expected. Tried to call to validate the situation, but it is impossible to get service on the phone through their phone tree. Got there and the service guy just said: no we don't do that. And left it there. I communicated that I took the day off work and had told them what was up, and asked why they didn't reach out to tell me this before. He shrugged his shoulders. I've spent over 300k on Tesla cars over the last 8 years. I will not buy another one. I have a 10 year old Audi and every time I bring it in, the service is fabulous. I can call and talk to someone, they are kind and try to help. And the cars are more reliable and just better built. read more

As an owner of both a Model 3 and Model Y I will admit I really enjoy the vehicles. there may be minor peeves but the overall experience is extremely positive. Contrast that against Tesla Service and I can only say it pales in comparison. And maybe this is just my experience and expectation management but as someone who has owned high end BMW's and Mercedes and with a cost comparison that is not too far off I guess I just have an expectation of good customer service. Something Tesla lacks in spades. The staff are generally fine though even a few have rubbed me wrong. Overall my major gripe is simply Tesla policies. I drove my 2023 Model 3 off the lot and the next day found a bubble on the sidewall of a brand new tire. Tesla Service made it abundantly clear, they do not Warranty TIRES. Okay, I get that. But if I bought the tires on Tire Rack or any Tire company, or even other car companies; if the tire was potentially afflicted with a defect that seller would act on behalf of me the customer as a liaison to the manufacturer. Tesla's response, you can buy a replacement for $500. Which ohhh just for the record, is also not warrantied. I went to a local reputable Tire company, purchased the replacement for $440 and paid them an extra $82 to act as a liaison with the manufacturer on my behalf. Gee Tesla, even a paid option would have been nice if only to be reimbursed a prorated value on the defective tire. Next, as my misfortune would have it a local AG truck kicked up a rock and it targeted my Tesla Sunroof window. I pay extra on my insurance so I have the benefit of a zero deductible on windshield replacement, a huge benefit for those who commute. But Tesla adds windows to their NO WARRANTY POLICY. And I can live with that, but they take it a step further. Most major insurance carrier leverage 3rd party companies for glass replacement. And most auto dealerships honor 3rd party Glass coverage companies. After all, it just means they have to pick up the phone and get a credit card they can charge the replacement to with the 3rd party company. So maybe a couple minutes for a service staff action. Nope, they will not deal with 3rd party, it's policy. So instead a zero deductible car owner like myself must fork out almost $1300 to have Tesla (which appears to be the only company who can replace their OVERPRICED windows). And then I must pray that when I file a REIMBURSEMENT REQUEST to my insurance carrier that they will honor the bill I was charged by Tesla. Lastly, and maybe this is just me being frustrated by Tesla Service on the issues above. When i pay the ridiculous prices for Tesla Service because it's my only option, I thought naively.... "maybe they will atleast wash my car". All the other car dealers I have purchased vehicles from did. Uhhh yea not a chance. The service technician made it clear that is not a service Tesla provides. Which leaves me asking, what service do they provide??? A pack of cookies in the wait room? And why do they only service 2 windshields a day but only Monday through Friday, yet the scheduling app allows me to schedule it for over the weekend. And why when I drop it off on a weekday at 0800 in the morning and make the assumption that two windows per day means a half day of service per windshield. Nope all day, and did I mention they only issue loaner vehicles if it's a WARRANTY repair. Though to be fair they do offer Uber credits, which do little good to someone who lives 1.5 hours from the service center. So yes, Tesla Service I detest all that you fail to stand for and two stars for good workmanship is the best concession I can offer. I love my car but Tesla policies can kiss my third point of contact. read more

What a crappy dealership with poor customer service. The staff here are some snobbish people who weren't interested in selling cars. I ended up going to another dealership that had a Tesla and was unimpressed with the quality and look of this $hitty car. For the price I would buy a Mercedes, Audi or BMW. I definitely won't recommend this type of vehicle. After seeing reports on the News about fires caused by the vehicles battery I definitely would never recommend a Tesla. That's my opinion. Me and wife decided to get the tesla model 3 while they offered a discount since not to sure how the federal deduction would affect us and how much the 3 would qualify for. Went to the Monterey Tesla and was helped right away. Since so many declined pick up the one we wanted was on the lot. After an inspection we did the paperwork and drove it home. Had it for over two weeks and love it. A lot of cat for the money. Had a newer Audi and Lexus prior and this is way better so far. read more

All my contacts were amicable and reliable. The difference than when I had a Toyota is service is monitored via text (digitally). Contact at the service center was personable and efficient. I was kept informed along the way. I had to delay my service several times for personal reasons; Tesla adapted with ease. I prefer Sand City/Seaside location because I don't have to drive over Hwy 17! I would suggest the waiting area be made more homey. read more

I stayed at a hotel nearby this Tesla showroom and I knew I had to visit on my day off. So on a Saturday right after breakfast I checked the Tesla website and booked a test drive! It's a super easy process, just hand them your license details and you're ready to go on a 30 minute test drive of the car of your choice, by yourself and your guest. After signing up on the Tesla website I had Kat, from the showroom, send me a text that she was ready for my arrival. I even went in early as she was okay with that too. I picked the model Y because it looked the coolest to me and it drove super smooth and was really really cool. I'm not in the market for a car just right now but I'm definitely pretty sold on the Tesla driving experience in the near future. Maybe it might even be my next car. We scheduled a test drive of Model Y at Santa Cruz Chaminade and got email confirmation. A staff texted us, telling us to call a local 831 number when we arrived. We showed up at the appointed time, but couldn't reach a real person on the number she gave us so we texted her again. She called us back after a while, telling us that the car was unlocked. We got in but couldn't find the key card or start the car, so we tried to reach her again but could never reach her any more. We called all the numbers (local and public Tesla numbers) we could find but couldn't reach any real person. The automated systems just pushed us around. We texted the staff numerous times but she never replied again. We waited in the car stupidly for one hour, calling all the numbers we could find, before we decided to leave when our one-year old got tired and started to throw tantrum. Very disappointed. The staff texted again 3 hours after the appointment time and said that they got busy in the showroom so couldn't answer our calls or text. Oh, well. read more

I confirmed my 3.24% APR rate through the Tesla App last week, my account status changed from 'Go to Account' to View necessary documents to get ready for delivery, then two days after it said I need to reapply and changed my rate to 4.49 and today it even increased to 4.79%. My car is set to be delivered in two days and I've left messages at Santana row location, Monterey, and sent emails through your website. Someone needs to correct this and your lack of support is horrendous. The overall customer experience is a 0/10. read more

5 Star update... Wyatt, thanks for your time on the phone and trying to get Kevin to help me. I understand he was talking to someone so couldn't talk to me. Kevin thanks for trying to get my call. FERNANDO thank you so much for being patient and listening to my concerns. Mainly, my vehicle has lost power and function once while on the freeway at night and nearly killed my family. Then recently lost power and couldn't go into neutral on the highway - which is when I saw the lady get hit with the semi - but it was my tesla's fault for losing power and function. So me and my family and friends have been through a lot. Towing fees, emergency towing, stopping suddenly on freeways and highways, witnessing someone get hit. Yes. This all happened and I was VERY FRUSTRATED. It's not Fernando's fault. He had never met me nor worked on my car (actually, now I think about it, I'd probably been charging there before and he took the time to ask how we were doing). MY POINT IS THAT I CONTACTED FERNANDO AGAIN TODAY, AND AGAIN UPSET ABOUT WHAT MY CAR HAS BEEN DOING TO ME and FERNANDO DEMONSTRATED THE FOLLOWING PROFESSIONAL AND EXTRA-MILE CUSTOMER SERVICE: I know he's extremely busy, but he took the time to talk to me. I was actually already considering legal action against Tesla, but Fernando's care and personality put me at ease. I feel like someone actually wants to help me. Fernando actually fixed a couple issues already. So Sunnyvale Tesla actually took around 18 months (I can go back and check). It was like 18 - 24 months AND THEY STILL DIDN'T ORDER THE PART THAT WAS BROKEN WHEN I GOT THE CAR BRAND NEW. I know Sunnyvale is trying their best - but that's the kind of history I experienced. So where it took well over a year to get parts for my car at Sunnyvale, here Fernando was fixing issues WITHIN DAYS!!! I'm really troubled that Tesla in general seems to lose the "really good ones." And I will do what I can to make sure Fernando STAYS AT TESLA. Elon Musk, Tesla -- I'm not saying this because "it's a thing to say on yelp." Wyatt told me, "We don't really let test drivers try that out." He's a liar. - I asked him if Tesla will be introducing new features for the model in 2021. His response was, "Oh that's not how Tesla works." I responded, "Oh but your website says that the 7-seater will be available in 2021." Then he replied, "I don't know - who knows if that's actually going to happen." Whaaaat??? - Car was not cleaned prior to us test driving it. Tesla is lucky their product is good. Never go to this service center if you have another option. I've used this service center three times and they've been bad experiences every time. The service people are rude and condescending, They'll quote you one price on intake and then increase the price after the service is all complete without telling you or talking to you about it. My wife and I drove from Sacramento to Seaside to pick up our new X. After waiting a couple days to pick it up and driving 3.5 hours the car wasn't even fully charged when we arrived. The car was also extremely dirty inside (dust and leftover water bottles). We also discovered recently that the falcon doors only open about 90% of the way. Sooo, already taking it to get serviced for that. We reached out to this location and asked about them paying for a detail...which should have been done prior to us picking up the car. But, no response. They aren't interested in customer service. read more

It took a lot of mishaps to add up before I wrote this review. I wanted to be fair and give the technicians and advisors the benefit of the doubt, but at this point I've become certain that I have not been getting fair service. Rather than go through each mishap in detail I will summarize with these thoughts; 1. They will mislead with you with claims that are untrue to get you to spend more money 2. They will not honor benefits that were previously offered to you, stating that they never have offered said benefits. I will share two stories that I believe will prove these claims. 1. I brought my 2013 Tesla Model S in for an alignment. It was diagnosed that my tie rods were frozen, and that I would need to purchase an entire new steering rack (~$4000, not including labor). I asked what steps they took to try and get the tie rods unfrozen. The service advisor didn't know. I asked if they tried applying heat (a common practice), they said that that was outside of their service specification. I asked if installing a new steering rack involved removing the old tie rods (yes), and if they were seized, wouldn't they have to take them off anyway for that job? The service advisor said "That's true..." This obviously wasn't going to fly with me, so I took my car to a local independent shop for a 2nd opinion. They successfully aligned my car for $130 and I was on my way (Thank you Newton Bros). No steering rack needed, and no lies. 2. I took my Tesla in for door handles (anybody with early model S will know that eventually they all need replacing). I'll admit it annoyed me that all 4 of my door handles had broken within the 1st year that I owned the car. When I the first one broke, I scheduled an appointment to get it fixed thru mobile service. I was given a cost estimate for parts (~$150 or so), and a time estimate of a couple weeks. This part ended up being backordered and taking much longer to come in than quoted. To their credit, they offered me a discount (~50% or so) on the parts saying that this was not up to their standards. Eventually, the part was installed, and everything was fine. For another door handle (I forget, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th), a similar situation happened. I believe that this one was more important to me, since it was the driver's door handle that had become inoperable. Their timeline kept being pushed back for the part, again, and again, and again. I eventually took time out of my day to go to the service department in person and ask if they could give me an actual reasonable estimate, and if they could offer me a discount like they had in the past. The service advisor told me it was impossible to offer discounts for the part, and that they never did that. Well...his tone didn't change much either when I told him that actually yes, you can offer discounts, because you have offered discounts. They also told me that they couldn't offer me a loaner vehicle because my vehicle was no longer in warranty. Well....actually yes you can offer me a loaner vehicle because you have offered me one in the past. So now it's clear that smoke has been blown up my ass on multiple occasions. My thought is that they take advantage of many people, often with no repercussions. I plan to avoid the Seaside Tesla Service Department as much as possible. I advise you to do the same if you want to hold onto your money. read more

So we picked up a nail in our tire on our Tesla during a long drive south to LA. Luckily we were only a couple of miles from Tesla Monterey when the low tire pressure warning popped up on the screen. We drove over and they took us right away. Stephen in service was awesome. He recommended a plug and helped us get back on the road fast. We had no appointment but he made sure we got in and out so we could continue our journey. The price was reasonable too. Highly recommend. read more

From the very beginning, the associates are giving me updates and have always greeted me with a smile on their face. Fernando, you're AWESOME! Both times my car has been fixed and all under warranty. 06Jul2020 The one star is for the friendliness of staff at Seaside. Where they fail as a company is taking care of the safety concerns of the customers/others. I have a Tesla Model X. On 24Jun2020, while driving on the freeway with my 13 old son, we heard a huge thug from the roof, it was scary! I parked on the side of the freeway and had my son looked at the roof. The two roof pieces blow off the car. I could not believe it. Called Tesla number right away, a typical Tesla, no one answers because they want you use the app to make a service appointment. Made the service appoint and of course not until 02Jul2020. Tesla finally called on the 25Jun2020. I explained my concerns about the roof, and they should escalate for a recall as it is a safety hazard and could cause major accident. I'm so surprised that they did not ask me to bring the car to the dealership right away. Instead they rescheduled my appointment to 06Jul2020 and advised me that parts were ordered. Again, I explained multiple times the importance of the problem, but nothing was done on anyway. Brought in my car on 06Jul2020 and explained everything all over to the manager and advised to escalate and let the company know. He said everything is noted and will be forwarded. I asked him if he could contact and ask anyone so this could be investigated. Same results. "I can't do anything else from my end". He advised me to email customer support. I told him as well that I'll post on my review and report to National Highway Traffic Safety. That's all I can do. No quote was given prior and told me over the phone since its a rare occasion that Tesla should be taking care of it. When I got to my appointment they charge me $1400+ even though it's a manufactured defect and told me they would take care of it over the phone. I had no choice to pay and get it fixed. Tesla needs to fix their policy and processes ASAP. Come on Tesla, don't wait until it's reported to NHTSA. To top it off, after the job was done (drop off 8:30am, picked up 4:30pm all day", glued/grease was left off my doors, roofs, and a little on my white seats, sides etc. I had to ask them to clean it. Wing doors and trunk did not open correctly as originally brought in. Luckily from my experience, I now try to check everything before I leave. They cleaned the glue and reprogrammed the doors but not the trunk. read more

My car has need of a few suspension parts to get out of the repair storage yard where it has been for weeks, but the parts are not available. For a 1 year old car they should be. I live less than 30 minutes from the factory where they are producing more than 400000 a year. Just watch the Wham Bam Tesla Cam channel and you will find reports of months and months wait for repair parts. read more
