I first used Revive Auto Care to replace a control arm on my Infiniti QX60. I found them on Yelp, appreciated their positive reviews, and liked that they communicated over text. That repair went well, so when my AC started blowing hot air, I decided to return. They initially charged me $100 for diagnostics and a refrigerant top-off, then told me I needed a new compressor and quoted approximately $1,200. I dropped the vehicle off on Tuesday. By Wednesday and Thursday, they still had not identified the issue, but they continued replacing parts including the compressor, condenser with receiver drier, premium line kit, secondary rear AC expansion valve, blend door actuator, cabin filter, and recharged the AC system. By Friday, the vehicle was still not repaired, and they ultimately determined that the battery was bad and not providing enough amperage to properly run the AC system. They replaced the battery and told me the issue was fixed, which naturally made me question whether all of the previously replaced parts were actually necessary. The total had also increased to approximately $2,500, and at no point during the process was I contacted for approval on the additional repairs and charges. When I picked up the vehicle Friday evening, the AC was still blowing hot air. In addition, the vehicle was revving abnormally both while driving and while sitting in neutral. It is now Tuesday, and my messages have gone unanswered. On Saturday, I brought the vehicle to Infiniti for another opinion. I was told that the AC system had been overcharged by 1.73 lbs of refrigerant, which they said was causing the issues I experienced after picking the car up. I understand that diagnosing AC problems can be difficult and unexpected issues can happen, but the lack of communication, failure to request approval for major additional repairs, and returning the vehicle in worse condition than when it was dropped off made this a very disappointing experience.

The repair itself was not the only problem. The bigger issue was the lack of ownership and follow-through. I noticed a bumper fitment issue before leaving the shop. They acknowledged it and attempted to correct it with an OEM replacement bumper. When that didn't resolve the issue, additional parts were pursued. The problem remained unresolved for nearly three months, with me repeatedly having to follow up for updates and coordinate return visits. There were recurring staffing and scheduling issues, including a scheduled vehicle pickup that the shop failed to make. I understand employees get sick and staffing issues happen. What I don't accept is the customer repeatedly having to absorb the consequences. When I finally asked Travelers to move the repair, the larger Caliber location near I-17 and Bell took ownership of the situation at my request. They independently evaluated the vehicle, identified that the fitment was not acceptable, and ultimately completed the repair correctly. A repair can encounter problems. What matters is how the business manages those problems. In my experience, I had to repeatedly chase this repair rather than having the shop proactively manage it. The contrast between the two Caliber locations was striking. One required nearly three months of follow-up and escalation; the other took ownership and got the vehicle properly repaired. I don't expect every repair to be perfect on the first attempt. I do expect a repair facility to communicate, keep its commitments, and take ownership when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at this location.

DO NOT USE THIS SHOP! They are dishonest. I had 3 other estimates after this shop did their…read moreestimate. The other estimates were all under $6000. Caliber's estimate was over $14,000. They fraudulently stated I needed to replace gas cap and housing, roof racks, quarter panels, spare tire, etc. It was all lies. I needed NONE of that. Then they refused to let me pick up my car saying it was not drivable and I would have to have it towed. Also a lie. I went back into their lot and drove my car out just fine. They padded the estimate in order to claim my vehicle was totaled so they could fix it and re-sell it. Horrible. Do not trust this shop.
