Enjoyed this Italian farm to table restaurant on a quiet weekday night in September. We got the taglioni cacio e pepe, orecchiette with white lamb ragu sauce, and grilled artichokes with sourdough bread. We also tried orange wines for the first time! First time visiting on Valentine's Day, we were running later after the Uber driver from Hell and I called the restaurant stressed because I was worried we wouldn't make it in time- the gentleman that answered the phone was nice enough to change our reservation to a 15 minute later slot! i cannot cannot cannot recommend this place enough. everything about this place checked every box...it was an absolute spectacular experience. i had canceled a previous reservation i had at a different restaurant that i wasn't too sure about the night before the reservation was to take place, found terre and was praying they'd have availability...the praying worked because i quickly booked them for a thursday night resi at 6:30pm. i came to celebrate my boyfriend graduating his masters and wanted something romantic and definitely delicious. upon entering i was enamored by the decor, an array of wine bottles across the right wall of the restaurant. a rustic feel all throughout with wine barrels and dancing lights hanging in the far back of the restaurant. even the bathroom was adorable, a sliding door makes it much less of an eye soar than other places i've been to, it's discrete and blends well into the restaurant, when opening the sliding door you walk into a pamper room with a mirror sink soap and then to your right there is a separate room with a toilet, private and clean. terre's layout of their dining is split into three parts, a table or two in the front, a bit separated and in my opinion more romantic and secluded, they then have tables lined up against the wine wall that lead into the back dining area, a room that has about 7 or 8 tables. they also have a backyard patio for when the weather is nice. i didn't get to take a look in person but after seeing photos on like i cannot wait to dine there again and sit outdoors! now onto their food....absolutely blew me out of the water. we had their 6 selection of their artisanal meat and cheese selection...disclaimer..we did NOT know how large this would be and i would not recommend this for 2 people, but rather for 4-6 people, we know for next time lol. it was enormous!!!!! but nonetheless delicious and we took it home to munch on the following day. we also tried their traditional plate tonno di coniglio, which translates to tuna of rabbit, this was very interesting and was night and light on the pallet. the fresh spiralized carrots on top with the peppercorns were a nice touch. we also got their black truffle burrata and prosciutto (which is 30 months aged! wow) for our entrees we ordered 2 pasta's (rigatoni with lobster bisque and pappardelle with boar ragu) and one of their specials of the day which was an asparagus and taleggio cheese risotto. everything was pure bliss, the rigatoni was aldente, perfectly chewy and the lobster bisque which had loads of fresh crab pieces in jt was perfectly balanced and flavorful not too salty. the pappardelle with boar ragu was also delicious and the special risotto was out of this world. we were so full by the time it came out (our eyes were bigger than our stomach when we ordered lol) so we only had a few nibbles of the risotto before asking to have it packed up to go, but my goodness, the rice had a lovely bite to it. the asparagus mixed with the rich creaminess of the taleggio cheese was the perfect pairing. oh! we also had 2 different glasses of wine recommended by our waitress: /hostess, don't remember the names but they were really yummy! to top off the night we ended with their dessert special which was a strawberry mousse... to give you an idea, we went Thursday night, it's now Saturday afternoon and i've been DREAMING of this dessert since that night. it was fluffy, light, creamy and sweet. i'm not a fan of desserts that are too sweet and this one was perfectly balanced, it seemed most of the sweetness came from the strawberries themselves, and hidden in the mousse were little biscottini. an absolutely perfect meal. and last but not least the service. the host and one of my waitresses for the night was an absolute doll, and her name was alejandra (my girl!! same name different culture lol) she was informative, explained all specials in detail and gave her opinion on different items. helped us pick out a wine that fit what we had described we liked and just did an overall phenomenal job. but i also want to shout out everyone else who was working that night, we had multiple staff members come clear the table and bring dishes to us and check in to refill water etc. and i want to give a special shoutout to the chefs behind the scenes that no one gets to see, thank you thank you thank you!!!! food: 10/10 service: 10/10 ambiance: 10/10 we will be back! read more

DEFINITELY my new favorite Italian place! Just moved to the area and my friend and I stumbled upon here. The service and food is just a great combo! I ordered the Ragu pasta and she ordered the gnocchi with truffle butter. We also asked our lovely server to recommend the best paired wine with these dishes - her recommendation was spot on! Both dishes were highly memorable! Will be returning. I already feel like I will be a regular here.... If I could give this restaurant 6 stars, I would. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in New York City. It's charming, and homey with plenty of lights to add a magical touch. I wish I knew the name of our server, she was fantastic. Sincerely one of the best servers I've had the pleasure of meeting. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. She made excellent wine suggestions, and we enjoyed both reds she picked out. Our prosciutto, truffle burrata, and cheddar were incredible, and paired nicely with the honey and home made bread. I ordered the crab, and lobster pasta which was out of this world. Holy hell, I loved it so much. I ordered something similar at Gersi, and left disappointed, but this dish more than made up for it and was exactly as I imagined it would be. The other guests joining me also had some very tasty meals! We ended the night with a bit of coffee, Tiramisu, and Panna Cotta. Like our main courses, both desserts were dynamite. The Tiramisu had a very light, coffee/boozy flavor, which I preferred to some of the heavier boozed renditions I've had before. I can't wait to come back and try more. read more

Visited Terre for dinner and drinks on Friday night. The space is charming and the staff is fantastic, but there were assorted factors from the wine to the food to the prices to the temperature that contributed to a very average experience. Quality: Terre provided an unfortunate reminder that I just don't have an appreciation for Natural Wines. While I occasionally find a funkier wine I enjoy, the across the board nature of this style of wines is hard for me to get into. That said, I appreciated the opportunity to try a bunch to see if I could find something that suited me, though in the end I ended up selecting wines I would not want again. I also was not a big fan of them not having a current wine list, even if just a QR code. It would have been helpful to have a chance to look into the wines a little, especially since they are not as common, as well as know prices. They also need to do something about the temperature, because room temperature in their limited air conditioned restaurant in July is not correct for wine. The food was a mixed bag. I was a big fan of the Balsamic Tasting, even if it was a bit pricey. The cheeses selected were excellent, the bread was very tasty, and it was fun trying different aged balsamic. The Black Truffle Burrata E Prosciutto was excellent as well, and fit well with the tasting, even if it was a lot of bread. I was much less happy with the main courses we ordered. I would avoid the Grilled Octopus because it was prepared poorly, leaving it tough the chewy. The Gnocchi With Truffle Burrata & Porcini Mushrooms was also not very good. The thick and soupy sauce was way too much, the gnocchi was too soft, and the burrata chunks were too infrequent. Quantity: Large portions, especially for the pasta dishes. Value: $14-$24 for a Glass of Wine. $45 for the Balsamic Tasting. $25 for the Black Truffle Burrata E Prosciutto. $25 for the Gnocchi With Truffle Burrata & Porcini Mushrooms. $25 for the Grilled Octopus. Ambiance: Terre is located along 5th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The restaurant is thin and long, so it is easy to pass-by and not notice it. However, when you pass in the evening, it is immediately a place you want to visit. Brick and wood everywhere, and long shelves on the right wall filled with wine and covered in lights giving off an almost warm glow. Tables are squeezed in wherever chairs fit, creating a cozy and quaint space. They also have a nice little covered patio in the back. During our visit they were running with a Chuck Berry playlist, and oddly every time it switched to a traditional pop song, it got skipped. Be prepared in the summer, because it gets warm inside, as the fans and mini A/C unit don't do much. Crowd: We arrived early in the evening and most tables were open, so we were surprised when they were hesitant to seat us. Reservations are highly recommended because the small space fills up fast as soon as normal dinner hours hit. Service: While there were a lot of flaws in our dinner, the service was not one. Our waitress was fantastic, and I truly appreciate her willingness to provide a mini-wine tasting to try and find something we would like. Our first dining experience at Terre was on New Year's Eve. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant we felt like we were transported. The staff was warm and welcoming just as you would expect from a lovely Italian restaurant in Tuscany. We were seated towards the rear of the restaurant with a lovely view of the unique architectural aesthetic. We were tended to with great care by multiple staff members throughout our dining experience. The food absolutely will not disappoint. As gimmicky as the waitstaff's t-shirts are (stare at one if you want to learn the names of the most common pastas), the food here was wonderful. We got: Insalata di mare (salad of the sea): This had plenty of chunks of octopus, and the dressing was so vinegary and delicious. The perfect thing to get to whet your appetite for pasta. Pappardelle with Boar Ragu: This is the type of thing you'll want to get when it's rainy outside and you want to eat something that feels like a warm hug for your stomach. I devoured it. Gnocchi with Truffle Burrata and Porcini Mushrooms: Very, very creamy. Very, very good in its own right. Pretty much the opposite flavor profile as the pappardelle. While the food was great, the wine was interesting, to say the least. My boyfriend asked for something like a Pinot Noir, and what they gave him to taste was something that was much more like fruit punch than wine. Being the gentleman he was, he didn't ask them to send a different bottle so he took it. I don't know if it's because the wine is "natural" or just that particular bottle wasn't good. It was very vinegary--like it might've been sitting around for too long. Final note--I will 100% come back here one day, but I have to say that unfortunately, I will always remember my first time here as the time that the flies almost ate me for dinner. As soon as we were seated, I noticed one of the little buggers helicoptering over the table. Not two minutes later, I spotted another one crawling over the menu at the table next to us. It got to the point where every other sentence out of my mouth was interrupted by a fly swooping in to say hello. I knew it could only get worse once the food arrived, so we asked to move to a new table. The wait staff was very understanding and moved us immediately to a table in a much busier part of the restaurant where there were practically no flies. I don't know what the problem was in that part of the restaurant - maybe the plants? Maybe someone had spilled something sweet earlier? Mystery will remain unsolved. read more

We had a craving for a meaty pasta and found this place on a whim. We didn't have reservations on a Sunday night but got here pretty early and seemed to be the last walk in table seated. The place is really cute and cozy. There wasn't a lot of staff so service was slow but super friendly and it's the kind of place you want to take your time anyway. Wine list was great, we got to try a few glasses, and when I ordered something that wasn't available the server recommended some similar wines and brought some over for me to try. We had the burrata and prosciutto to start and both agreed it was the best prosciutto we've ever had. For dinner we each had a pasta ragú, one beef and one boar, and they were absolutely delicious. The bruschetta bread was burnt and the pasta portion was on the smaller side. I had a huge party, about 16 people. they were so accommodating, the waiters were so tending to us. I loved where we were seated, in the corner in the outside space. ambiance was great! This place is so awesome I almost don't want to share it with anyone and keep it all to myself! The food is amazing. I tried the lasagna, truffle gnocchi, creme brûlée and chocolate soufflé--all of which were delicious! I've never had orange wine until tonight and it was amazing. I wasn't sure which to order, so the waiter brought out three different bottles for me to taste. The staff here is really friendly and welcoming! Plus, they have heat lamps outside. Outstanding. Our favorite restaurant in Park Slope. The food is outrageously good, and the wine is absolutely delicious. Taste the orange wine even if you're on the fence -- you won't regret it. You can really just tell that the ingredients are fresh and extremely high quality. The waitstaff is amazing and outstandingly friendly, helpful & knowledgable about the menu. We went during phase 2 of reopening from COVID to celebrate our anniversary and felt that the restaurant was super clean, we were far enough away from others to social distance, all of the staff were wearing masks (i never once saw them take them off), we really just felt like they dealt with it as well as, or better than, any restaurant ever could. We ordered the artichokes (ok), truffle burrata - probably the highlight, 3 pastas to share- papparadelle with boar ragu, tagliatelle cacio and Pepe strongly caution this is for blue cheese lovers and not a traditional parm, and another pasta, along with the veal cheeks which we all agree was very tender. While the entrees were tasty, I gave 3 stars for a couple of reasons. When the server finally asked us what we wanted to order, we started with the olive oil tasting dish. 15 minutes later, we received a pile of burned bread cubes with two small dishes of olive oil. I thought a tasting would have at least 3 oils. About 45 minutes later, we received our two of three entrees. After placing the first two entrees, he walked away without explaining that it will be another 5 minutes until the final entree was served. My daughter had to get up to find someone to ask about it. No explanation and no apology. We were never checked on. Had to ask for water twice and everything moved like molasses. For the price we paid for pasta dinners and burned bread, we paid too much and this isn't a place I will return to. read more

Excellent food, hip vibe, with very interesting decor. I had octopus which was grilled to perfection. It was a tad chewy but that may have been due to how fresh it was. Later that day, I ate octopus elsewhere and could tell that the other restaurant had used frozen octopus not so at Terre. It looked like we're the oldest people in the place though, lol. read more

We had dinner at Terre recently. The ambience was nice but it was quite loud (need to shout at your partner to have a conversation loud). What really ruined the experience was the ridiculous wait - there was a one hour gap between appetizer and entree. Food was so so - there are much better Italian restaurants around IMO. There was nothing particularly memorable about the flavors. Food was definitely overpriced (and I don't mind paying for good food). Perhaps if they stopped overbooking the service would be better and the kitchen would have more time to quality control the food. Will not be going back. read more

SO unbelievably great! This restaurant is so cute, and the food is so good. My friend and I popped in for a late dinner on a Saturday night. We got seated at a tiny table with beautiful dishes. Our waitress was so friendly and bubbly and kind! I don't know her name but she had really awesome swirly green earrings. Between the two of us we got two glasses of wine, bruschetta, and the terrelle al ragu pasta. Our waitress had us do a mini wine tasting at the table before we chose our wines, which was nice because the menu doesn't really give any info about the wines! She clearly knew her stuff. The bruschetta was so good. I do not know how they make the tomatoes taste like that -- they had such a rich, deep flavor and bright red color I kind of wondered if they were canned tomatoes (which I love), but they also tasted incredibly fresh. I loved sopping up the tomatoes with that amazing bread. The pasta was also fantastic -- the noodles were the perfect chewy texture and the sauce had so much flavor (I got a lot of rosemary and I loved it!). All around the experience was wonderful.
