Ughhh that was pretty brutal. Wife and I came in for a late lunch/early dinner. We sat at the bar and it took about 10 min to be greeted. A lot of staff standing around, the one working was getting annoyed. She ended up helping us when she had a moment. Ordered drinks and an app. Then we were ghosted again. Had to flag someone down who was in the middle of a conversation with a coworker. We ordered a burger with avo and bacon, and a burata salad..... you guessed it, burger came out with no avo or bacon. I watched the server go to the computer and talk to a coworker. It clearly wasn't entered correctly. Then we had to flag someone down again for the check. My wife and I were laughing like we were getting punked or something. We sat at the bar to get good friendly service. No one was friendly. Didn't ask how we were doing or even try and chit chat a little. It seemed like we were an annoyance. 2 stars bc the burger and fries were good and maybe it was an off night. But idk if I'll be back to test it out. That was pretty rough. read more

Service was poor. We placed our order and waited 35 minutes to receive it. We received our food first and not our appetizer because the waitress forgot. Every time I asked for a coffee refill it took 15 minutes. My sister asked for over hard eggs, she got over easy eggs so we asked to cook them longer. We walked in at 12:30pm and walked out at 3:00pm. The food was good or I'd give a lower number, but the poor service was the biggest complaint and left the biggest impact. read more

Every time I go I say never again but this was the last straw. The chef neglected to put the dressing on our Caesar salads, which were made with some kind of limp greens that did not seem right. My friend ordered a drink with Aperol and they said they just ran out of it, so she ordered something else, but then they miraculously found a bottle of Aperol minutes later. They did not bother to garnish the drink. The server gave us the wrong menu for the time of day and she had zero enthusiasm, which is quite unusual there. All in all a really crappy experience. read more

This farm-to-table restaurant located at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown is gorgeous, especially the outdoor patio where we dined. The patio is partially covered and has fans blowing, so it's protected from rain and heat in the summer. Indoor seating is just as beautiful! The food is fresh and delicious. For lunch, I had the Whole Wheat Campanelle Pasta, a tasty combination of pasta, kale, zucchini and cheese in a light tomato butter sauce. The servings aren't stingy; I took some home to enjoy the next day. We ordered a plate of truffle french fries for the table; they were very good, but a little bland for my taste. The freshly baked bread is served in the terracotta flower pot it's apparently baked in. Nice touch, and tasty bread served with basil-infused butter. Service is a bit slow but the staff is very pleasant. I look forward to returning. read more

The ambiance here is great! It's attached to the store so it's fun to walk around and shop after. We came for brunch this time and I really enjoyed our drinks. The omelet was good, but pretty standard. The complementary bread was great! read more

I'll start by saying that the food was okay. I ordered the short rib with poached egg. It was decent. To drink I had the sea salt caramel latte, which was very good. Our party was *generally* satisfied with the food, it was fine but not stellar. We had an issue with seating. We were a party of 5, and were sat outside, which was fine. However, we were all stuffed into a 4-top because they couldn't put two tables together due to fire code. Ok fine, we made it work. My main complaint was the attitude of the staff. My daughter requested to subsitute caesar salad for the salad that came as a side. The server actually *snickered* when she asked, and said oh no we don't do that. That is unacceptable, and was very offputting. A polite denial would have been nice. She went on to explain that they could do caesar dressing, but not an actual salad, which was fined. Later, after our meal, we chatted for a while with our group, since one of us had come in from the west coast. At one point, my other daughter noticed the server consulting with the manager near our table. Shortly after, the manager asked us to vacate the table because someone else with reservations was coming in and they needed the table, even though almost every other table outside was empty. She politely told us we could move to the bar. No thank you. Maybe you should retrain your servers to refrain from the snooty attitude, unless that is part of your brand's image. I choose to spend my money at estabishments where I am appreciated and treated well, so I will not be going back to Terrain in Doylestown. read more

We were here for a wedding and it was incredible. During the wedding, we ended up with some hangry guests and they delivered great customer service and prevented multiple meltdowns prior to the wedding. The food was also delicious. Cannot recommend enough! read more

This place is worth the trip for the shopping experience and ambiance. Food is decent, nothing I'd rave about, though. Service is also decent. Can't wait to visit in the Spring when there is outdoor seating read more

I've eaten at Terrain several times, and can honestly say that this is one of the few places I simply do not like in Doylestown. The ambience is crazy cute, but the food is consistently...subpar? Overseasoned? Something about it is just not my cup of tea. I'm not someone who writes reviews frequently, but I felt the need to after having my 4th meal from Terrain and ultimately being dissatisfied. There are many other places in Doylestown I'd recommend before Terrain. read more

I wish it were possible to give more than 5 stars for this experience. The atmosphere, ambiance, aesthetics are breathtaking. The staff were all nice, every single person we encountered! The cocktails - divine! The food, oh the food! So fresh and delicious. Menu items had: Brussel sprouts app, the kale salad, and the whole wheat Campanelle. My co diner had the scallops which were divine. My favorite part of the meal however was the flower pot bread with the maple brown sugar butter. Wow. I brought home leftovers and bought a flower pot bread making kit; it was that good. Special shout out to incredible service at the bar by Diana and team, and our server Lucy who was an angel. I can't wait to go back. Just an amazing experience in every way. Thank you read more

The cafe is beautifully decorated and the hostesses and servers were very friendly. This a great place for brunch and breakfast. I've been to dinner once with a group of 7 people. I have to say the experience was very disappointing. Service was mediocre and the food lacked presentation. Lucky for me, I ordered the safest item in the menu ....burger with fries, meat was cooked to my liking, juicy and well seasoned. The rest of the group didn't have much luck i.e., scallops, pork chops etc., etc. You The description of the dishes was too verbose but not much clarification of what it entails. You make sure to study you're French dictionary to figure out what they are talking about. The waiter had to look it up when we asked him about the ingredients in the scallop. I think this is a case of "trying too hard to be fancy" restaurant. There is not much to choose from in terms of desserts, so I ordered the safest since I know it's OW WOW ice cream. I ordered the 3 scoops since it was my birthday, it looked like whoever was preparing it in the kitchen was doing in the dark. It was all clumped together and couldn't taste which flavour is which. Pay attention to the plates presentation makes a big difference. Other than that, we will be back hopefully this review makes a difference. read more

We had a great meal here in early June 2025. We enjoyed our Tuna + Soba noodles, lasagna, chicken pot pie and a loaded burger for me! Excellent service from Caroline. The food was good, and I love that they give BIG PORTIONS. I'm a big eater. Most restaurants of this caliber serve portions which could only satisfy a hummingbird. Thanks Terrain, we'll be back. read more

I came on a Thursday evening and it's unbelievably busy. The parking lot was packed and I had to park on the grass. Even with a reservation we had to wait for a table, I'm guessing they seated too many walk ins. The waitresses were extremely slow, rarely checked up on the table and everything took way longer than it should've. The food took an hour to arrive which is ridiculous. The pork dish was tasty, meat was tender and the grit cake was nice and soft i especially liked the sauce it came with. The arugula salad was odd, the cheese tasted more like whipped cream which was a bit off putting. The food was nothing too special, not worth going out of your way for. The aesthetics of the restaurant is nice, I'm assuming that's what attracts most people since the food is mediocre. The location in Devon is less packed from what I've seen. The whole meal took 2 hours when it should've been closer to 1. read more

Terrain Cafe is located near Delaware Valley University. This location is stunning, so plan extra time to wander through their gift shop and plant areas. As for the cafe, my group had a reservation for 3:45 and we were rated promptly. The brunch service switches over to dinner at 4:00. After ordering, the table receives a fun flower pot bread and a strawberry butter. This butter was fantastic! It had a subtle strawberry flavor that paired beautifully with the bread. The meals and drinks were all fantastic and beautifully presented. I was impressed with the service, they had a lot of staff members working and all needs were taken care of. I can't wait to come back again! read more

Great addition to the area and the university campus! Reservations via opentable.com are a definite as they are the new hotspot! Farm to table and delicious food and drinks. There is something for everyone! I have been there twice so far and excited for the 3rd! Are there some growing pains as a new location? Yes, but they are better each time! read more

An apology and a gift card later I don't know if I will go back. Considering that the price is a reflection if quality ingredients put together and well presented, great ambiance and good service then the place is overpriced... only because the service was really bad. The kitchen seemed overwhelmed and when servers came out with the food they were asking patrons if the order was theirs. It took 3 servers and a manager to get desert and coffee. The drinks are good though. If you decide to dine there just be aware that you will probably pay more than what it is worth... at least not for now. read more

This is the second time we've dined for dinner, only to be told 15 minutes after we ordered our entrees that the kitchen was "all out" of the dish. Instead, the maitre'd hovered over my spouse as she quickly decided a new dish, only to hate it after it came. When she told the waitress she didn't like it, she was met with an "oh", and that was the end of the service. No apology or nothing to make it right from the host -- again! It's a beautiful restaurant with very nice dishes, but you're really spinning the roulette wheel when you dine for dinner. You have no idea what will happen. read more

I'm really disappointed. I popped in for brunch the second weekend they were open and had a meal at the bar. It was great but looking back, I think that was 90% the bartender (Rebecca). I took my best friend and her two kids for dinner tonight and it was supremely disappointing. Minimum 30 minutes btwn the app and entree arrival. Server did not get us another round of drinks, ask, or even notice that they were empty. One of the kids dinners was completely wrong and by the time the correct order came, we were done. It wasn't removed from the bill, disappointing. Some dishes were pretty good; the mushroom soup being one. But the lamb app was subpar. They were meatballs and were not listed or described that way. Other kiddo had the burger, a flat, seemingly pre-frozen patty suffocated in bread. Really underwhelming and disappointing. read more

Okay, so I'm ashamed to admit that after living here six years I never heard of the place. This review is twofold. The store we stopped in a couple weeks ago. A friend was in town and someone suggested that we go to the store, her being into gardening. What an exceptional place. The store was loaded with gifts and holiday decorations. If a staff member sees you with items in your basket they offer to take it to the counter and set up another basket of your items so you don't have to carry them around. EVERYONE that worked there was accommodating to the point that one staff member climbed on a table to cut down a display ornament because they were unable to locate any others. This week we decided to return for lunch. The restaurant is beautiful like eating in an outdoor garden. The staff, again, was exceptional and the food excellent. I would highly recommend it. I cannot wait for summer to see what they do then. read more

I've been to Terrain twice now. Visually, the restaurant is really just in a class by itself. I don't know who the Genius was who thought of putting a Restaurant in the middle of a garden store, but it really was inspired. The service both times was impeccable. Very solicitous. The first time I went with two other women and we all asked for alterations of our meals. Everyone of our request were honored and the food came out right the first time. I didn't love my meal, but it wasn't their fault, I am not a big cumin fan. I didn't realize that everything on my plate had cumin as a seasoning. However, I tasted everybody else's meal, we all agreed that the portions were large, and the food was delicious. The second time around, I was much more careful about my order, and ended up enjoying every single bite. Go for the amazing decor! read more

My mother and I dined outside as it was a beautiful day. Our server, I can't remember her name ( brain fog) but she has a beautiful snake tattoo on her upper right arm/ shoulder, was excellent! The hostess with the blonde bob haircut was also super friendly. Although it was busy, our server was on point and super personable and knowledgeable about the menu. The bread in the flower pot was super cute and the butter was orange and thyme infused. It was super yummy! We had the cheese plate, quinoa balls, mushroom soup and the shashuka. All were absolutely delicious! We had a few cocktails which did not disappoint! We ended with the perfect dessert, the chocolate terrarium. The food, ambiance and service were excellent and we will be back! read more

It was. Look at the menu before you go to make sure you like the food. Services were good. Very pretty dinning area and great gift shop.

A go to place for consistently good food and reliable service. A bit loud but the ambiance is classy.

Super cute place! The best decor that makes you feel like you're eating in a Green house or garden. The wait staff was so nice and attentive. The food was amazing! I had a mushroom fritata, it came with breakfast potatoes and a light salad, and I got a side of fruit because it looked so fresh at another table and it was. My friend and I each got our own coffee drinks and split another because there were so many options that sounded delicious. HIGHLY recommend going here for dates, hanging out with friends, or even just going out with the family. There were 2 little girls having the best time a table over and it was such a happy thing to see them enjoying themselves there as well! read more

2nd time at Terrain in Doylestown, the 1st time was very close to startup so we thought it would get better. Ambiance, Service and Drinks were great but the food was a disappointment. Went to Terrain Cafe for the first time yesterday. The place is beautiful, and the atmosphere is amazing. The food was great, the drinks were delicious, and everyone at our table liked the food. Our only problem was our waiter needed to be more attentive and welcoming. He took our order, and we barely saw him after, we had to ask someone to get him numerous times if we needed something. When we went to pay, he never even asked about our meal or thanked us for coming in. Not very friendly at all. We went into the store after; what great things they have there, and the ladies at the register were so friendly, fun, and welcoming. I would give it a try again in a few months, but I hope they get the service issue figured out or at least train their employees to be more attentive to all the tables they are waiting on and be more personable. The 3 stars are for the lack of service. read more

Everything is hit or miss with this place. This is the 4th time I've come and each time it flip flops either the service is atrocious or the food is mediocre at best. It is November and they had outdoor as an option, most places that do this locally have heaters and closed patio with some type of lining. We arrived and the hostess laughed that we had an outdoor reservation. We walked outside and there were no heaters on and completely outdoor patio. It was 42 degrees. They should not be accepting those reservations. They were able to seat us inside - so all was fine. The food was mediocre at best and it took an hour from ordering to receive our entrees. Entered the restaurant at 645 and left at 815. I keep trying to give this place other chance since the indoor is so pretty and we had a great experience opening week but since then kitchen has been behind every time. The staff seems to be constantly unable to keep up. With such a small menu and quick cook items, there really shouldn't be a reason they cannot keep standard industry pace. read more

Our server was great! Food was just okay. But, as a former server for more than 20 years, I could see how poorly the restaurant was designed in terms of efficient traffic flow. From talking to other diners about their service it's clear the staff training is poor. The interior designer neglected to reduce the decibel level of the inside dining space. It was deafening the day I had lunch there. The ambiance is nice, however, but unless I can sit outside I wouldn't dine there again. Restaurant: Impossible's Chef Robert Levine would have a field day here. read more

This place straight up doesn't care about food - it's just for "vibes" It's deceptively cute and has potential, it's just not good - the food is forgettable at best (the truffle fries look like something that would be served at a bowling alley), expect to have a drink spilled or some error with your order. On my first visit, the server took our IDs to his manager because he "wasn't sure they're real" (we're in our 30's lol). Oh and the signature bread in a terracotta pot tastes soapy. read more
