Okay, so I'm ashamed to admit that after living here six years I never heard of the place. This review is twofold. The store we stopped in a couple weeks ago. A friend was in town and someone suggested that we go to the store, her being into gardening. What an exceptional place. The store was loaded with gifts and holiday decorations. If a staff member sees you with items in your basket they offer to take it to the counter and set up another basket of your items so you don't have to carry them around. EVERYONE that worked there was accommodating to the point that one staff member climbed on a table to cut down a display ornament because they were unable to locate any others. This week we decided to return for lunch. The restaurant is beautiful like eating in an outdoor garden. The staff, again, was exceptional and the food excellent. I would highly recommend it. I cannot wait for summer to see what they do then. read more

My mother and I dined outside as it was a beautiful day. Our server, I can't remember her name ( brain fog) but she has a beautiful snake tattoo on her upper right arm/ shoulder, was excellent! The hostess with the blonde bob haircut was also super friendly. Although it was busy, our server was on point and super personable and knowledgeable about the menu. The bread in the flower pot was super cute and the butter was orange and thyme infused. It was super yummy! We had the cheese plate, quinoa balls, mushroom soup and the shashuka. All were absolutely delicious! We had a few cocktails which did not disappoint! We ended with the perfect dessert, the chocolate terrarium. I came on a Thursday evening and it's unbelievably busy. The parking lot was packed and I had to park on the grass. Even with a reservation we had to wait for a table, I'm guessing they seated too many walk ins. The waitresses were extremely slow, rarely checked up on the table and everything took way longer than it should've. The food took an hour to arrive which is ridiculous. The pork dish was tasty, meat was tender and the grit cake was nice and soft i especially liked the sauce it came with. The arugula salad was odd, the cheese tasted more like whipped cream which was a bit off putting. The food was nothing too special, not worth going out of your way for. The aesthetics of the restaurant is nice, I'm assuming that's what attracts most people since the food is mediocre. The location in Devon is less packed from what I've seen. The whole meal took 2 hours when it should've been closer to 1. read more

An apology and a gift card later I don't know if I will go back. Considering that the price is a reflection if quality ingredients put together and well presented, great ambiance and good service then the place is overpriced... only because the service was really bad. The kitchen seemed overwhelmed and when servers came out with the food they were asking patrons if the order was theirs. It took 3 servers and a manager to get desert and coffee. The drinks are good though. If you decide to dine there just be aware that you will probably pay more than what it is worth... at least not for now. read more

Terrain Cafe is located near Delaware Valley University. This location is stunning, so plan extra time to wander through their gift shop and plant areas. As for the cafe, my group had a reservation for 3:45 and we were rated promptly. The brunch service switches over to dinner at 4:00. After ordering, the table receives a fun flower pot bread and a strawberry butter. This butter was fantastic! It had a subtle strawberry flavor that paired beautifully with the bread. The meals and drinks were all fantastic and beautifully presented. I was impressed with the service, they had a lot of staff members working and all needs were taken care of. I'm really disappointed. I popped in for brunch the second weekend they were open and had a meal at the bar. It was great but looking back, I think that was 90% the bartender (Rebecca). I took my best friend and her two kids for dinner tonight and it was supremely disappointing. Minimum 30 minutes btwn the app and entree arrival. Server did not get us another round of drinks, ask, or even notice that they were empty. One of the kids dinners was completely wrong and by the time the correct order came, we were done. It wasn't removed from the bill, disappointing. Some dishes were pretty good; the mushroom soup being one. But the lamb app was subpar. They were meatballs and were not listed or described that way. Other kiddo had the burger, a flat, seemingly pre-frozen patty suffocated in bread. Really underwhelming and disappointing. read more

I've been to Terrain twice now. Visually, the restaurant is really just in a class by itself. I don't know who the Genius was who thought of putting a Restaurant in the middle of a garden store, but it really was inspired. The service both times was impeccable. Very solicitous. The first time I went with two other women and we all asked for alterations of our meals. Everyone of our request were honored and the food came out right the first time. I didn't love my meal, but it wasn't their fault, I am not a big cumin fan. I didn't realize that everything on my plate had cumin as a seasoning. However, I tasted everybody else's meal, we all agreed that the portions were large, and the food was delicious. The second time around, I was much more careful about my order, and ended up enjoying every single bite. Go for the amazing decor! read more

A go to place for consistently good food and reliable service. A bit loud but the ambiance is classy.

Super cute place! The best decor that makes you feel like you're eating in a Green house or garden. The wait staff was so nice and attentive. The food was amazing! I had a mushroom fritata, it came with breakfast potatoes and a light salad, and I got a side of fruit because it looked so fresh at another table and it was. My friend and I each got our own coffee drinks and split another because there were so many options that sounded delicious. HIGHLY recommend going here for dates, hanging out with friends, or even just going out with the family. There were 2 little girls having the best time a table over and it was such a happy thing to see them enjoying themselves there as well! read more

Went to Terrain Cafe for the first time yesterday. The place is beautiful, and the atmosphere is amazing. The food was great, the drinks were delicious, and everyone at our table liked the food. Our only problem was our waiter needed to be more attentive and welcoming. He took our order, and we barely saw him after, we had to ask someone to get him numerous times if we needed something. When we went to pay, he never even asked about our meal or thanked us for coming in. Not very friendly at all. We went into the store after; what great things they have there, and the ladies at the register were so friendly, fun, and welcoming. I would give it a try again in a few months, but I hope they get the service issue figured out or at least train their employees to be more attentive to all the tables they are waiting on and be more personable. My daughter just had her wedding April 25 at the Terrain in Doylestown. Everything from the setting up till the end taken down was phenomenal. Madison and her assistances Had things very organized. The food was amazing not one complaint! I loved every appetizer, dessert and entrée .The place was gorgeous. Everyone from the people at the bar the people setting up to the waitress and waiters did such an amazing job! We also have rehearsal dinner there and same thing food atmosphere top-notch. Everything is hit or miss with this place. This is the 4th time I've come and each time it flip flops either the service is atrocious or the food is mediocre at best. It is November and they had outdoor as an option, most places that do this locally have heaters and closed patio with some type of lining. We arrived and the hostess laughed that we had an outdoor reservation. We walked outside and there were no heaters on and completely outdoor patio. It was 42 degrees. They should not be accepting those reservations. They were able to seat us inside - so all was fine. The food was mediocre at best and it took an hour from ordering to receive our entrees. Entered the restaurant at 645 and left at 815. I keep trying to give this place other chance since the indoor is so pretty and we had a great experience opening week but since then kitchen has been behind every time. The staff seems to be constantly unable to keep up. With such a small menu and quick cook items, there really shouldn't be a reason they cannot keep standard industry pace. read more

Our server was great! Food was just okay. But, as a former server for more than 20 years, I could see how poorly the restaurant was designed in terms of efficient traffic flow. From talking to other diners about their service it's clear the staff training is poor. The interior designer neglected to reduce the decibel level of the inside dining space. It was deafening the day I had lunch there. The ambiance is nice, however, but unless I can sit outside I wouldn't dine there again. This place straight up doesn't care about food - it's just for "vibes" It's deceptively cute and has potential, it's just not good - the food is forgettable at best (the truffle fries look like something that would be served at a bowling alley), expect to have a drink spilled or some error with your order. On my first visit, the server took our IDs to his manager because he "wasn't sure they're real" (we're in our 30's lol). Oh and the signature bread in a terracotta pot tastes soapy. read more

Had the best birthday dinner with my best friend tonight. We couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate our birthdays. It's absolutely beautiful inside. The decor and charm is perfect. I loved the inside so much. It was beautiful and welcoming and comfortable. The food was delicious. We had the Brussel sprouts for starters. So good! She had the halibut and I had the salmon and it was delicious. We cleaned our plates. The garden spritzer was also delightful and very welcomed. I love seeing mocktails on the menu- thank you for having a nice variety! I had the apple caramel cheesecake for dessert which I absolutely loved. Our waiter was Jordan and he was great! He made the whole experience even more enjoyable - he's got a great attitude and his personality was just what we needed for a quiet, lighthearted, easy going night for our birthdays. Actually- the entire staff was wonderful and kind and engaging. It was a great experience!! I see on other reviews, patrons complained about the slow service. I have to touch on that - the service was slow, but not out of being ignored by wait staff. Dining out is an experience. I hate to be rushed. Our food orders were taken promptly And our food came out as it should. One of my biggest peeves about going out to eat is having servers bring me the next course while I'm still working on my current course. Let me eat. Let me enjoy it. Let me digest it. We ate at Terrain cafe last night with friends. I had the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. It was standard. Nothing special. I ordered it because everything else had beets or goats cheese and I'm not a fan. My husband had grilled salmon with a beet sauce and said it was fine. Nothing to write home about. Decor is cute. A little too bright and a little too loud. Kids running around everywhere - I think from the reviews here we were expecting something more atmospheric, less reminiscent of Cracker Barrel. The bread in the terra cotta flower put was cute. Cinnamon sugar butter was fine. I'm not one for over the top service but half expected the server to come back once or even twice to check on us - nope. Half-heartedly, she took our order and someone else dropped it off. There was virtually no salad dressing on the salads which my friend quickly noted and immediately requested extra be brought to the table. It took its time getting there, and in the meantime we gnawed on the overcooked chicken. I think, actually, the biggest break we had was that our server didn't check back on us...because if she had we each might have ordered a second glass of wine in an attempt to wash down the dry chicken and salad. Glad we didn't - we noticed on the bill at the end that a glass of white wine was $19. I've paid that much for a glass of wine before - I mean, I live in London for crying out loud! But the overall impression I was left with was this place is trying to be something it's not with its overpriced wine and over frou frou beets and goats cheese laden entrees and its underdressed salads and it's ho him wait staff. I mean I didn't hate it - please enjoy you people whose cup of tea it is - but I most adamantly will never return. Wife got a Ceasar Salad with chicken. Again pretty bland with store bought dressing. If you want to lunch with the Doylestown ladies then this is your place to be seen. The cafe at Terrain has a beautiful ambience, and the Golden Oat Latte was delicious, but that's about it. The service is very slow and on a 100 degree day I had to ask for water, as did two other nearby tables, on the OUTSIDE patio after being seated for 15 minutes with no server coming to my table. The food is tasteless and inconsistent. A cute planters pot (there is an attached garden center) held a loaf of bread, but the bread was flavorless, verging on stale, and the salted butter had much too large salt crystals making it inedible. It's tough to mess up a grilled cheese sandwich, yet somehow they managed to serve a bland sandwich on bread that was not the advertised sourdough, had none of the promised rosemary, and the cheese was not melted. If only the fries could save the day. Sadly, they were limp and reminiscent of day old microwaved fries, loaded with salt. Will not be back. read more

I was really looking forward to this dining experience and was really let down! Of course the environment was absolutely beautiful, and the drinks were fantastic as well, but the food was not good. My guy and I could cook so much better at home and certainly save a lot of money. I got the mushroom frittata which was bland, wrapped it up and doused it with ketchup at home! My guy got crab quiche, small portion, fishy taste, not good. Don't need to return unless we want to splurge for drinks at the bar. Good luck if you jump in to try! Hope for better for you! read more
