Made an appointment with MacForce and when I got there to explain my problem they recommended that I speak with a senior Apple advisor, gave me the number and explained why calling them directly may help. I called the number they gave me, got connected immediately to a senior advisor who help me troubleshoot my earbuds but to no avail. Then directed me to visit an Apple Store where they can run a diagnostic. The Apple advisor gave my expired warranty an exception like the guy at MacForce said they may... and boom got my faulty earbuds replaced for free same day. He also recommended replacing several current apps with ones that would do a more thorough job in my system. Throughout our appointment he explained in terms I could understand exactly what he was doing, but left all decisions to me. The work was completed remotely at an incredibly reasonable price. In fact, I wanted to pay him more and he refused. I highly recommend his work.
