This bar is a very nice fit for a busy place like Union Station. They do have waiter service seating inside, but since all we wanted was a drink in the late afternoon before dinner and a place to people watch in the holiday decorated Main Hall, we took the option to order at the window and sit in the nearby armchairs in the Hall. The selection of many local crafted beers and some ciders too, fit our wants perfectly. I especially like it when there is a choice between a sweet or a dry cider, because often, if there is only one, it is likely to be sweet. I like dry and preferably on tap. Which is what I got. From a local just up the street, Stem Ciders. Perfect. My husband had a local Copper Ale which he had not had before and thought it was great, from Station 26. The staff was efficient and very friendly, and quite busy, though the line was not long and went quickly when we were there. Though they are working a window, do remember to tip them, there is work involved and they will appreciate it. You can leave your empty glasses on the tables near where you sit, they send staff around to keep it clean and take the glasses back into the bar. There is lots of comfortable seating in addition to the benches and the bar stool table. People watching is fun here and we even saw a former neighbor passing through the Hall and got a chance for a short visit. read more

I was really excited to visit the Terminal Bar. I came in from out of town and it had so much potential. I waited in line for a drink but after 15 minutes not one person had moved. I decided to enter the restaurant and order from the bar. I stood there for 10 minutes and not one person asked if I wanted to be helped or if I needed anything. Granted, there was another gentleman next to me they were very interested in saying hello to and conversate with however asking the party next to him seemed foreign. There's so much potential. I have been to Terminal Bar many times. They always have good drinks and a good atmosphere. I went yesterday and was very surprised by their "patio rules". If you sit on the patio, they only offer table service (You can't order at the outdoor bar and then sit down. They have to come to you). Ok fine. My friends were already sitting down and there weren't any extra chairs so I had planned to stand. I go inside to get a drink and then I went outside to see my friends. They were done so I figured I would sit to finish my cocktail and go with them. A busser told me that I'm not allowed to bring indoor drinks to the patio so I would have to leave the table. What a classy broad. Waiting an hour for our brunch plans, my friend and I sat down at the Terminal Bar for an irish coffee to start our days. It was delicious and had my stomach shaking and my voice quickening in no time. For my second drink I asked for a mimosa (it was breakfast time) with no orange juice (just being honest here!) and the bartender laughed and said this is not a place that judges. I was in town visiting and exploring around Denver when my group and I came across Terminal Bar. We got sat and looked at the drink menu, the host (supposedly new, blonde lady) checked our IDs which were all international and she took a long glare at them and walked away. 35 mins had gone by and I was about to get up and the host was pointing to us and a nice host came up to apologized and told us that the other host said they were expired ids. First off hosts tell you if that's the case and second it should not take 35 mins to handle this situation. Stopped into Terminal Bar after having lunch nearby. The decor of the bar was really beautiful (to match Union Station). We sat at the bar. I was blown away by the abundance of beers on tap. Even better? They are ALL local Colorado beers!!! They had 30 beers on tap (like I said all local). 3 of which were on Nitro. You could get a full beer, or just like any Brewery in town, you could build your own tasters (comes with 5 beers). The service was very good, and most of the bartenders stopped to have actual conversations with us. However, for the ambiance of Union Station and especially terminal bar, it is almost worth it. This bar is absolutely beautiful. The amount of detail taken in the design of everything from the booths, tables, walls, bar, etc is phenomenal. I came here on the grand opening day. It was obviously busy..but for the crowd my group was still able to get a table inside the bar (hostess will seat you) within five minutes. Outside the bar in the grand hall there is additional first come first serve seating. We got drinks pretty quick (and even additional rounds and food quickly). The service was very nice also. They were running a limited food menu due to the grand opening..so I ordered a Elk Jalapeno sausage. It was pretty good but not too spicy (I love spicy stuff). The normal menu has a number of burgers, belgian fries, and sausages. I will definitely have to come back to try out some more food! As I said before the space here is beautiful. Very vintage feel. They have the original Union Station ticket windows on the back of the bar still..you can also walk up and order beer from the windows too! One of my favorite places. I live downtown, work downtown and the terminal bar is always a great place to end up after a long day or weekend. Please be on the lookout for their "Service Charge". They include an 18% tip(service charge) on the bill without defining what it is unless you dig really deep on the last page of the menu. I was very confused as why my bill was so high and the bartender stated "There is a service charge". I added additional tip because I didn't know what a service charge was. My bad, I know moving forward. Just warning others that you do not have to tip here, because it is already included. Otherwise, the drinks were good but overpriced for the downtown hype. read more

It's one of downtown's more unique bars because of the history of the location. It has a really cool, nostalgic feel to it. I think that's where my "compliments" would stop. The staff appear to be tired, overworked, and generally in a perpetual bad mood. Every man and woman I've ever dealt with here is borderline rude but always 100% disconnected from the customers. I totally understand it's a very high-volume bar but does that mean all customer service and manners/politeness are out the door? Also, be prepared to wait in line if you use the walk-up window. You will wait. Getting a table in the bar is probably out of the question altogether. All drinks are moderately over-priced. read more

We come here about once a month on a Friday for a few happy hour drinks. The specials are always good($4 draught local beers) and the service is always top notch. They have plenty of bartenders so you are never left with an empty glass for long. Bartenders are friendly, and the beer list is almost 30 beers long and mostly local craft beers. Extensive wine and spirit list, too. It can definitely get busy on a Friday (or really any day between 4-6 as Union Station is busy with local public transit commuters) but their staff is always on top of it. we love coming here! read more

I like the atmosphere, but I am a lot less impressed by the food. They serve fast food from next door, (burgers come on a tray, fast food style). The fries were good but over salted, my burger came without any sauce so was very dry (it was not a mistake since my daughter ordered the same one and there was no sauce either). And for fast food burgers not even that good, it is quite expensive, mine was $9.50 plus $3 for the fries. Drinks were fine, but is it really that difficult to put a price on the cocktail and beer menus? This place might be fine if you just get drinks. read more

My boyfriend and I live in the area and usually stay out of downtown, but I am a christmas tree freak and heard the tree was up at the station, so he humored me and we rode our bikes downtown. Love the new bar in Union Station. We've been here twice and have sat inside the bar once and out in the lobby most recently. Service is very prompt regardless of where you sit and very friendly. Their menu recently changed as they got rid of some of the cocktails that were taking epic prep time. That being said, request the raspberry lemonade as it's absolutely delicious. It's muddled fresh raspberries, vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and soda water. It's not very sweet and is unbelievably fresh. If beer is more your thing, they offer tons of options and are quick to provide you with their feedback on your choice. Tap pulls are numbered vs being company branded and my husband thinks that's the smartest thing in the world. Overall, this is a perfect spot to stop while downtown. A wonderful setting for a bar. Tucked into the front of the (converted) Bus Station you can sit in front, inside and in the Terminal. They serve light food, which Unfortunately we not hungry for. Great place for a drink... The revamped Denver Union station is not to be missed. The entire common area has been refurbished with solid selection of food/drinks. The crown jewel of the station is the terminal bar. This used to be he ticketing area of the train station but now serves up a large selection of Colorado's finest brews. The price point is reasonable and the staff friendly and willing to provide guidance on their go to brews In short -- have a drink before you head home! This place is awesome and quite the hot spot. We snagged a booth and didn't even have to start a tab to have a server wait on us! If you're coming through Union Station or just spending time in the area, this is a stop worth making. Union Station offers food, shops, and of course this really cool bar where you can sit and people watch while enjoying their delicious drinks. We went there before grabbing some dinner in the area. They have a great signature cocktail list with unique ingredients that make you want to try something new. I was a big fan of their selection of whiskeys and an even bigger fan of the strength of their drinks. I had an old-fashioned and followed it up with a manhattan. Located within Union Station, it really puts New York City's Grand Central Station to shame in terms of the scene to grab a drink. CUTE! This narrow, Gatsby-esque bar is just stunning. It makes a great spot to meet up with your friends or make it your night cap. Order a drink at the window below the light up sign and take your drink to a couch in the lobby, the shuffleboard table, or one of the few wooden picnic tables. Or sit in the actual bar. It's charming, but a bit intimidating if you want a beer (so I have never ordered a beer here) they have plenty of options, I'm just not sure how to actually order one from here haha, it's just oddly fancy. Horrible service, we are prior restaurant servers and my husband and I have friends from California that we are visiting with, we came in and sat around for about 20 minutes before we saw a anyone, well this woman with long brown hair and highlights, maybe crappy extensions?, comes over in a huff while we are all laughing, and quietly says "how's it going" as she through our coasters at us. No one responded right away, and we are talking about two seconds, and she responded "ok great" my husband began apologizing and saying we were fine and she stormed off in the middle of his apology and didn't return to our table. We eventually left and went to Mercantile which was awesome. I will add the couple next to us was there before us and also left when we did because they had not been served. No water no drinks.
