We were staying at a nearby hotel and found this place through Yelp. It was a rainy evening and there were only a few tables with diners. The restaurant is small and clean with plenty of parking in the lot. The fish was fresh and I would've given four stars except the chirashi bowl I ordered was very disappointing. More basic type fish and what really made it unenjoyable was an over saturation of sesame oil. I've noticed some sushi restaurants put sesame oil in their sushi rice, which I enjoy when it's light, but I had a very difficult time finishing the rice. I order chirashi bowls very often at sushi restaurants and I wouldn't order this one again. They have an extensive menu and the service was good. If I'm in the area again I would probably try a different sushi restaurant first before returning here.

We came here to happy hour at 2 pm and it was pretty empty. Their happy hour menu is such a good deal and is pretty extensive as well. We ordered the heart attack and deep fried California roll and it was so delicious and filling! The fish was fresh and tasty. They play football on the tv behind the bar which kept us entertained as well. The service was good and restaurant is very clean and calm.

Tera Sushi is one of those places where you walk in starving and leave wondering if you just had one of the best meals of your week. Every piece of sushi is fresh, well-balanced, and presented well enough. It's not just food, but a full experience. Coming in with an empty stomach was a great decision because everything, from the nigiri to the specialty rolls, was worth every bite. The cuts of fish are generous, and there's no skimping on quality. You'll leave full, happy, and possibly planning your next visit before you even get to the parking lot. The service is welcoming, and even during peak hours, things move smoothly. Whether you're a sushi purist or just here for a good meal, Tera Sushi is the kind of place that makes you appreciate the art of simple, well-made food.

First time stopping by for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. This place is a hidden gem. We walked in at 1215 and only 4 people were inside. Within 15 minutes, the place was packed and I can see why. The portions are generous, beautiful presentation, and the food tasted fresh. We will definitely be back to try some dinner options.

Tara Sushi in Corona might not be the biggest spot, but don't let that fool you--there's plenty of seating, and even though it was packed when we went, they sat us right away at the bar (my favorite place to sit at any sushi spot). Honestly, sitting at the bar just elevates the experience--you get to chat with the chef, ask questions, and really be part of the process. Our chef was amazing--super attentive, incredibly knowledgeable, and you can tell he's been perfecting his craft for years. Both he and our server went above and beyond with recommendations, and I had so much fun trying new dishes (especially from the specials menu). I didn't snap pics of everything we devoured, but trust me--we enjoyed everything. The quality here is exactly what I look for in sushi: fresh fish, beautifully balanced rolls, and just the right amount of rice (none of that overwhelming rice-to-fish nonsense). To top it off, I found out our chef used to work at another sushi spot I loved, which explains why everything was so on point. Bottom line: Tara Sushi is officially a new favorite. If you can, grab a seat at the bar--it's worth it for the experience alone. Fresh, flavorful, and genuinely welcoming--I'll absolutely be back.

Ordered off doordash since I was craving sushi. The baked salmon roll was good, but did not really care for the corona roll. The salmon roll had a weird aftertaste but was manageable. Would I order from here again? maybe not as there is better sushi elsewhere. Glad I got to try this place out though!

My boyfriend and I ate here after helping my friend move. Needless to say, we had worked up an appetite. Our food came out in a timely manner and the servers were attentive and polite. If you're looking for fresh, good quality sushi, this is it. I would recommend 10/10.

Great food, service and ambiance. No I didn't use the suggestions. But seriously, great sushi options. The waiters were great very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend the California Roll. I will always eat here with my family.

Got a teriyaki chicken bento box for lunch. With tip I paid $26. It was good but not worth $26. Too expensive for lunch. Service was good. My server was attentive. We've been missing out on some very nice tasting sushi. Now known as Tera, this sushi house has changed ownership and name since the last time we ate at this location. That had to have been several years ago, and we just didn't bother to give them a chance. But finally, I realized that many Yelpers were showing a liking to this business. I was needing to give them a chance. This is not AYCE. The first thing that got my firm approval was the fact that they use rice sparingly in their rolls. On the other hand, I found it very difficult to pick up each piece of my roll with my chopsticks without it deconstructing into a dozen pieces. That was the problem with one roll only, and I attribute that dilemma to a chef who had not wrapped it tightly enough and an outer layer of fish that did not entirely surround the outside. Out of necessity (and total indifference to tradition and propriety), I finally asked for a spoon and unapologetically scooped up the pile of individual rice grains, tempura pieces, and fish slices without further ado. My idea of eating sushi is not one grain of rice at a time with chopsticks. Our order was very satisfying. Of the 3 rolls we ordered, the one that excited me the most taste-wise was the Cilantro Forest Roll. Starting with a basic California Roll with crunchy shrimp tempura in the middle, then wrapped in salmon, the roll was then surrounded with a generous puddle of the most delicious citrus-y sauce. This was so, so good, I did not want to waste a single drop. And herein is where that aforementioned spoon came in quite handy. I can only regret the colorful topping, a towering haystack of raw red onion, that nearly ruined it for me. Next time, I'd prefer they just leave it off, please. We followed up with a second visit a few weeks later. Again, good food and aesthetic presentations. This time, Mr. B spent most of his "dime" on hamachi sashimi and uni. My choices included The Shrimp Tempura Roll and a Poke salad. The Poke was excellent; the chef's choice of raw fishes were ocean sweet and generous. The tempura roll was just as lovely. The tempura batter was great. My only disappointment was a Hamachi collar, a personal favorite of mine, that I brought home for the next day. It was rather small and definitely overcooked. It was hard to determine how fresh it really was. I've had better. My final takeaway is, both times we have eaten here, I have been delighted to see a lack of salty, pedestrian sauces that all but smother the rolls coming out of AYCE places. These sauces at Tera are flavorful and creative, the fish is fresh, and the menu is interesting. Good quality for the money. I will happily return.

This review is based on the takeout. My favorite sushi place is in Temecula, but it's always freaking closed! The reason that place WAS my favorite was because they had an amazing cilantro sauce that went with a roll. I was craving sushi today and looked up on Yelp sushi places near me and this Gem popped up and i noticed it was new! I went in to check the menu and boom, a cilantro roll with a citrus sauce. I HAD to try it, did i possibly discover a new favorite sushi place? The answer is... Yes, yes i did. The roll was utterly amazing, i practically inhaled it. My husband got some shrimp appetizer on the size and it was the bomb too. The sushi roll did not disappoint and filled that need that my other sushi joint did not! Definitely excited to go in and eat in the restaurant, please give it a chance! read more

We tried this sushi restaurant for dinner today. Since there're lots of good reviews, I expected more than what I got. First, we had miso soup, I never think this simple thing can be a problem. Look the picture, there's no toufu, no seaweed, even no green onion in this soup! Then we waited for 30 mins to get our first dish, the yellowtail fire roll, it's not bad. But again wait a longer time to have the second dish, Chirashi bowl. On the menu it says 12 pcs sashimi or fish, then I counted only 10pcs plus some crab meat. I asked the waiter and he added 3 pcs. Overall, the fish is fresh, that's why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. But it's not worthy to wait such a long time to have sushi like this. read more

Terrible service ! We stood there for a good 4-5 min. The sushi chef looked at us , said nothing , the waitress looked at us , said nothing and we waited another 2-3 min and were not acknowledged and walked out . We had been before and the food was ok, the sushi guys aren't super friendly but we were in the area so went in . We won't be going again . read more

I discovered this place a couple weeks ago. I LOVE their live halibut so much. I would love it even more if they offer live sweet shrimp as well. I love coming here after work. Chefs are very friendly and professional. A little on the $$$$ side but would you rather pay less and get cheaper quality fish? Anyway, I will continue to support them ! read more

We were in town just for a few hours and search for something close to where we were and found Tera Sushi. We loved everything we had here tonight... we had the Lemon Role, Fire Roll, Baked Salmon Role and Miso Soup... everything was just perfect... very tasty and most importantly fresh. The service was fantastic and very friendly. They came to check on us frequently however not overboard. We would definitely stop here again next time we are passing through. read more

I am HOOKED on wanting and trying everything from Tera. My boyfriend and I dined in a few nights ago. We were both amazed with how fresh the every cut of fish was. The menu is insane in the best way possible. They have a variety of premium sushi options that you won't see anywhere else. The portion sizes of nigiri and rolls are perfect. We only had sushi and beer so that's all I can really judge foodwise. The chefs and servers were awesome! I spoke to a lot of regulars at the sushi bar and had a great time sharing our dining experience. It felt very relaxed and comforting. It can be pricey getting the premium sushi but I think everything on the menu is fairly priced. You come to Tera's for quality 100%. This is for sure the best sushi spot in the I.E for me! So thankful it's not a far drive from where I live in Riverside. Might be back this weekend lol! read more

I've been coming here for about 8 years since I've moved to Corona, and the new owners has made this place so much better. Such great friendly service, quality food, and great selections. Any roll you get will be delicious, but my favorites would be the Thai Coconut shrimp roll, Corona roll, and Rock n Roll. Their rock shrimp appetizer is also so delicious! For dessert, you can't go wrong with mochi ice cream but be sure to try their Tempura cheesecake and their Banana surprise for something special. Keep in mind it's a smaller restaurant so it gets packed during the evening and wait times will be longer, but it's always worth the upstanding quality that they serve! Every one that I've brought here always ended up loving it so much and having it be their new favorite sushi. read more

I've been on the lookout for a quality sushi restaurant in the IE Popped up on my Instagram feed, They were advertising fresh Toro and my god IT WAS FRESH ! The presentation was as is on Instagram and The service was great , she guided us through their best dishes. I went with yellowtail fire roll and it was delicious, melted in my mouth. I would recommend the fatty blue fin and yellowtail and also the cilantro forest roll. If you enjoy authentic sushi as much as we do trust me, This sushi spot will not diasapojnt. Great ambience too. It is one of the Best JAPANESE Restaurants I have found in Corona since we moved here and we have tried many SUSHI places around town. Need to try. I'm sure you will agree the Sushi is more, Athenic then most place , we get sushi rolls with the sauce on the side and use Wasabi so your able the taste the sushi it's a little place and service and food was Awesome read more

I cannot stress enough how fantastic our experience was here!!!! We found Tera through Instagram and took the chance for dinner- everything was made super fresh and the staff was so lovely and accommodating. We learned that their sushi and seafood is mostly all shipped in from South Korea alive to ensure freshness, insane!! We arrived and it was very busy, this place is very much a local gem. Don't hesitate to try them out! I recommend any of the carpaccios, specifically the Yellowtail. read more

This is my husband and I's go to sushi spot! We've been religiously going to Tera for a little over 6 months since it changed name and ownership. We are absolutely obsessed with the food, ambiance, and staff! We lived in corona for a little bit, and recently moved to Rancho Cucamonga and still make the trip out there every week to every two weeks because it is quite arguably the best sushi place that we've ever been to. We have been to numerous sushi spots within the area as well as outside the area, and nothing beats the quality and service that we receive every single time that we come here. Their rolls and appetizers are also highly customizable to each and everyone's liking. This place is QUALITY and the staff members make you feel like they are your family and treat you with great service and respect. Sushi quality and presentation are top notch! I had the blue fin toro sushi and carpaccio, it was fresh and delicious. They had Spanish mackerel on special, which was excellent. Nujabes soundtrack playing helps set a nice ambiance. read more

We ordered takeout from this restaurant and were not disappointed. The quality of fish on the rolls was good and they packaged it well. We ordered 5 rolls and the total was about $90. We're paying Orange County prices but the quality is slightly below that. With that being said, however, I would say that this restaurant has one of the best quality of sushi I've had in the Corona area. Granted, it is an apples to oranges comparison as the places I would go to for good sushi are: Sushi Wasabi, Oshima (Orange location), and Sushi Shunka. But if I don't want to make the trek out the OC area, then this place will do fine. Granted, we didn't try the nigiri, but the fish from the rolls we got tasted pretty fresh. Yoshioishi Sushi & Ramen had solid reviews, so we decided to pivot and give it a try. First impression: the menu is extensive. It's one of those places where you almost don't know where to start. The fan favorites are marked with a red flower, which helped narrow things down. We also asked our server for suggestions, which made it easier to navigate. We arrived just before 5pm and there was only one other table. We were told to sit anywhere we'd like. By the time we left, the restaurant was filling up and it seemed like there were quite a few regulars coming in. Here's what we tried: Salted edamame: Just average. A bit limp and not as crisp as I'm used to, so they didn't feel especially fresh. Gyoza: Really nice flavor and the dipping sauce was well balanced. These were solid. Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi: This was different in a good way. It had cilantro and a slightly sweeter sauce instead of the traditional garlic ponzu. Unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. Crispy chicken karaage: Slightly over fried but still flavorful. The dipping sauce helped. Crispy rice with spicy tuna: Just okay. One piece barely had tuna on top. Not bad, but not something I'd reorder. Cucumber salad: Served on a bed of iceberg lettuce, which surprised us, but the dressing had great flavor. This disappeared quickly. Nigiri: The salmon was incredibly fresh and one of the highlights. The albacore and toro came topped with fresh wasabi, which was a nice touch. We really enjoyed the salmon and albacore. The toro didn't quite melt in your mouth like we hoped. It was a bit chewy. Crazy Salmon Roll: Good flavor, but note that the salmon on the outside is fully cooked. We expected raw, so just something to keep in mind. Snow Mountain Roll: A fan favorite at the table. Great texture and flavor. Plain udon and plain ramen: Both were excellent. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the portions were generous. We definitely over ordered, but we left very full. One small detail for fellow tea lovers: I always look forward to hot tea at a Japanese restaurant, especially when it's served in a small pot you can refill at the table. Here it was hot water with a tea bag in a metal cup, which was too hot to comfortably hold, and there was no teapot provided. Not a deal breaker, but next time I'd probably skip the tea. Service was strong. In addition to our main server, two other team members checked in and refilled water regularly, which we appreciated. Overall, I'd call it a 3.5 if that were an option, so I'm landing at 3 stars. The food was decent, the atmosphere comfortable, and the service attentive. It didn't completely wow us, but we're glad we tried it.

Our son loved the staff as well, and he always gave them smiles back in response to theirs. The ambience was more of a local/casual sushi spot, rather than somewhere fancy, which my wife and I greatly enjoyed since we like dressing comfortably in just t-shirts and joggers. The tables, seats, and utensils were always clean when we went there. The men's restroom wasn't the cleanest looking, but given the location it was understandable. This last visit (April 18) was the worst yet. The drinks are actually great, the bartenders know what they're doing. That's the only redeeming part of this place. It was mostly shrimp, not even a mix, and to make it worse, there was visible shrimp vein (yes, the poop tract) still in it. It also took another hour to get just three types of sushi, and the yellowtail was cut poorly, chewy and full of muscle, not clean or fresh. At this point, this isn't a one-off experience, it's a pattern. I've given this place multiple chances, and the food quality and timing consistently miss the mark. If you want good sushi, skip this place. If you want solid cocktails, sit at the bar and leave it at that.
