First visit here today and it was overall a great experience. Spacious with a good amount of seating, everything looked clean. We were greeted right away, our host/ server was very friendly and checked on us often. We ordered the chicken katsu curry and the beef guydon bow with the pork & shrimp shumai. Everything was pretty good and flavorful, only thing was the chicken on its own was a bit flavorless but obviously with the curry it was very tasty. Will definitely be back here to try out some ramen next.
Came in a Tuesday right before their lunch special ended at 2pm. The lunch special saves you a few bucks and they toss in a salad. Which really isn't anything. But then at 2 they do happy hour which also save you a couple bucks. Both aren't crazy specially but I guess you can you use those extra dollars for Tip. Since we were the only ones there most of our lunch , our server was attentive and food was spaced out instead of other ramen places where just about everything comes out at once or right after the appetizers. The place is nice and simple and it was a peaceful lunch we had with our 11 month old. We love going to ramen spots and gone to enough to forget how many we've been too. While I enjoyed the spicy garlic edamame and Takoyaki. The spicy black tonkatsu ramen was decent, the chatsu not as tender as I hoped. The whole experience was nice and we enjoyed it. It's safe to say, that this ramen place if you choose it. Is a safe bet. Not bad and not great , just one of those nice middle ground ramen places you'll leave still feeling satisfied.
Went in for a mother's day lunch!! The food was great, staff was great, and it fueled all the cravings going on in our party!
This was def a hidden spot I didn't know about in Murrieta. I love the Japanese decor inside. The Tonkotsu Black with the black garlic was delicious. There was so much ramen too which was amazing. I also tried their soup dumplings and I'll def be back to get more soup dumplings. The service was amazing our waitress was so sweet and gave good recommendations. My friend tried the chicken ramen and it had a good amount of chicken in it as well. If you are craving ramen, check this cute little spot out!
The black garlic tonkatsu was what I was craving! It was good and service was good as well. Server was very friendly. Restaurant and bathroom were clean. Price was decent.
Centrally located, close to highway 215, this place is another gem I would recommend in Murrieta. Service is top notch, decor is bold in Japanese, and good foods! Chashu Bowl's portion is massive, Ramen's broth is quite tasty (the most important element) and price is quite competitive! What else the doubt left??!!
The food is always great here. The restaurant is small and clean and service usually great. On this particular day, I felt hassled by the server because I presented a coupon for a free appetizer having full intention of meeting their purchase quota. If I hadn't intended on fulfilling the quota, I wouldn't have presented it. I think the server thought that I was going to argue with her, but I had good intentions making sure to go above and beyond the requirement for the $9.99 appetizer. My advice would be to just allow people to order and give them a chance first before jumping to conclusions. We always enjoy Tenji Ramen. It's one of my family's favorite places to frequent when we dine out.
Salt&pepper wings not as good as expected And the pork on the ramen is too thick and hard to chew and resulted as gummy
I called to order a pick up order, the gal on the phone "Nadine" was rude, said she couldnt hear me (probably because the music is POUNDING inside.),said she had to put me on hold and would be right back. I waited 10 minutes she picked up and hung up on me. i made two more attempts and she hung up two more times. So being pregnant and craving ramen, I go in, I explain to her it was on the phone she kept hanging up on, didn't even apologize, just looked at me and said "oh". ZERO STARS for customer service on phone and in person! I haven't had this bad of customer service in a restaurant in over 15 years. on my want out I asked for chopsticks, she handed me a set wrapped with a napkin and spoon, drops it on the ground, picks it up and proceeds to hand it to me. I asked if I could please have one that was not just on the ground, she rolled her eyes and then grabbed a new set while setting the ones she dropped on the ground on the food expo line. Im beyond Shocked and concerned what other health hazards she does. I have been IN the restaurant industry and as a GM for 15 years, this was the worst I have ever seen. I Was excited to find a new spot closer to home to make my new regular spot. The food was ok, but they skim on the pork belly and fish cake and for having the steepest prices in town and on too terrible customer service, I don't recommend this spot to anyone! I prefer SoHo!
I'm giving Tenji Ramen 3.5 stars. They are conveniently located off the 215 freeway in the Stater Bros. shopping center (Los Alamos exit). Ample parking outside. Their pricing is average for a ramen joint these days, although a little lower than SD pricing. I ordered the Tonkotsu Black Ramen no spice, with a "Flavored Egg," which costs an extra $2. Some of their ramen comes with it, but some don't, so you have to pay if you want it added in. I think that's kinda whack, but whatever. The flavor was okay, and I was hoping that this place would hit the spot for me However, once again, it didn't measure up to my usual spots in San Diego. Nishiki is still hands down my Black Ramen favorite of all time. Menya Ultra has a few good ones, also. The ambiance was pretty casual. I went with my friend who brought her almost 2-year old baby along. Friend ordered her food and a kid meal for the baby. At some point, our server placed the hot chili pepper sauce by the baby. We didn't notice that she had put it on the table, let alone within baby's reach. She ended up swiping it, tasting it, and ultimately cried her head off. I felt bad that neither of them were able to enjoy their food or drinks. Needless to say, the experience was ruined for them, and my friend ended up leaving because her baby wouldn't stop crying. I finished my food, paid, and left. The server apologized more than once, but it just didn't go well for my friend. I would go again for my ramen craving if it hits bad enough. The broth wasn't as flavorful as what I'm used to, but it scratches the itch. The Blueberry Shirley Temple was good. Just be careful.. if you take any littles with you, be sure to pay attention to that hot chili pepper sauce! Hope you have a better experience than we did. =/
The food was amazing! The ambiance is lively and fun, but best of all the service is incredible, such friendly and attentive staff! Cindy was absolutely hilarious and so fun to be around! Highly recommend this spot!
Great service. Great ambiance. Great food. We love the dim sum/ramen fusion. It's a great alternative than driving to Wildomar for dim sum. They even have a pretty big appetizer menu plus curry bowls, a kid's menu and even bento boxes. So there are other options besides just ramen, for those who are curious. Come out and support local, small businesses! read more

Great service! The young ladies were all very sweet, friendly, and attentive. They made sure we were taken care of throughout our dinner. Now for the food... Gyudon: Our favorite out of everything we ordered! The rice was fluffy and not soggy, there was the perfect amount of sauce, and the balance of sweet and savory was just right. It was so good that we ordered another one to go! Salt & pepper wings: Very good! Great flavor and crispy without being dry. Salt & pepper ribs: Not much flavor, but they were very tender. BBQ pork buns: They were okay. Pork bun: Would've been better with less sauce. Overall, we would definitely come back for the gyudon and hopefully try the ramen next time read more
My daughter and I stopped in here for the first time after an event. We both ordered the chicken ramen and bao dumplings. The place is on the smaller side but was clean. There were only a handful of other people inside eating at noon on a Friday. The waitress told us to pick where to sit and was very attentive. I had browsed the menu prior so I kind of already knew what we were getting. My issue with the service was similar to other comments about the constant push for other sales even though I said what we wanted to order followed by "that's it, thank you." But she continued asking if we wanted so and so or even if we added to add on more ramen for another few dollars into eating our meal. We eventually got our food. The dumplings were delicious but the ramen was just....meh. It was our first ramen experience and I expected a little more taste I guess? The chicken was bland and just tasted like it seasoned with pepper. The broth was just simple watered down chicken broth. There wasn't much about it that I couldn't recreate at home and for much cheaper but I'm sure I could enhance the taste a lot more. To be honest, the "Top Ramen" packets at the grocery store that college kids live off of have more flavor than this place did. :/ After today I unfortunately wouldn't return. I took a star off for the pushiness and a star off for the bland ramen. The dumplings are keeping the rating at 2 stars. read more

This Japanese restaurant in Murrieta is my daughter's favorite place for her "before-archery" dinner, or any time she wants a father/daughter dinner. Her regular meal is chicken katsu with a delicious curry sauce, over rice. She's improving her chopsticks use. I typically have a ramen "soup" filled with numerous ingredients varying from chicken, beef or pork, noodles, onions, mushrooms, and other vegetables. It's wonderful. I have tried a few Bento boxes as well. They offer rice bowls, many other chicken or pork entrees, add-ons, and desserts. The service is excellent and the kitchen is fast. Everything is made to order, fresh. Prices are very reasonable. It's a small restaurant, with pleasant decorations and a comfortable atmosphere. We always find an open table for two. We visit Tenji weekly and still enjoy Tenji Ramen in Murrieta every time. read more

We decided to try Tenji and was glad we did. They're located in a big shopping center at the far end, north east corner. It's a sit down and take your order. We both had the pork chasu ramen with crunchy mushrooms, good noodles and tasty broth. The bowl was big and fair priced at $14.95. We finished off with a cappuccino flavored ice cream macaroon. Good stuff! The service was very good and they came by often and checked on us. read more

Everytime I come to Tenji I'm never disappointed. I always get the Korokke, spicy Tonkotsu black, add corn & it's always amazing but I tried the Pork Katsu Curry Bowl and some soup dumplings for dinner and I must say it was delicious. Honestly I don't think the curry needs the pickle radish but overall it was a good dish. Friendly service definitely adds to the ramen experience. read more
This is a Japanese eatery so the vibe is very casual and nothing too fancy. Food is good but not too great. My husband and I ordered the pork chashu plate, Takoyaki and Tonkatsu Miso ramen, as well as their Matcha cheesecake. I like the taste of their pork chashu plate with curry but it doesn't look appealing. The ramen was a little bit salty for me. Takoyaki was delicious, I really like it! Our biggest disappointment was their matcha cheesecake, it tasted flat and not creamy at all, it was very dry. Service was excellent even though they were busy on a Friday night. I will still give this place another chance, and maybe we can order something right next time. read more
Solid 3-3.5! I ordered the Tonkotsu Black. Probably not too many good ramen options in the area. The chashu pork was very lacking... the meat itself was 2/5 at best. Didn't care for the bamboo in the ramen either. The broth itself was flavorful and saved the meal. I'd probably eat this again if I was in the area. read more

Tenji is a delightful japanese spot that offers a good selection of dishes from appetizers to entice the buds, to rice bowls like gyu don and katsu curry, and of course ramen tonkotsu, shio, shoyu and vegetable. I forgot to ask if they make the noodles in house or not, but it was delicious and portion was a bit smaller than other ramen-ten. They do have a simple menu for the lil' kodomos :) I tried the tonkotsu miso which comes with pork chashu, flavored egg, green onion, bean sprouts wakame, wood ear mushroom. Presentation was lacking and the temperature of the broth was not as hot as I'd like. Ramen is served in typical melamine bowls and don't hold heat too well. Bummer (hence-1 star) but still delicious nonetheless. The broth was perfect for me although I can understand why others are saying it is "bland". My son had the karaage bowl and he said it was good, but was missing something. Perhaps if served with veggies, either a napa cabbage sesame slaw or pickled daikon? Aside from water on the rocks and hot tea, they also serve Japanese beer, Shirley temple with flavors, and macaroni ice cream. Win! Gochisousama, arigatomas! read more

It was a cold day out and we wanted to try some warm ramen. We were close by and decided to check this place out. We tried the ramen soup (not pictured), chicken katsu bento box, veggie egg rolls, shrimp tempura, potato shrimp and a kids bowl. It was all good. My girls, husband and I ate it up. The server was nice and efficient. The location was a good size. The food tasted yummy. Was given forks upon request. Will return to try more options... the matcha cheesecake is on my list to try next! read more
Tenji Ramen is a nice new addition to the small Asian restaurant scene in Murrieta. The ambience is new, clean, and simple. There is a colorful flair and a nice Japanese motif wall treatment. The Ramen was good as well. We had the 'black' and the 'miso' and some harumaki egg roles. The miso ramen was good- but i can see why some reviewers called it 'bland'. The flavor is a bit delicate. The pork belly slices are bland and undercooked... this may a traditional approach- but i found myself wishing it were more flavorful, and a bit more well done. The staff was helpful, and the place was clean and bright. I'd go back- for a quick lunch there. read more
What a huge surprise! The ramen noodles were cooked to perfection but the broth and toppings fell excessively short! No flavor, no seaweed, one piece of free onion, and no sprouts! Too much oil in the broth, did not resemble Japanese ramen because the press was terrible. If you never visited Japan you would maybe like it because Japan is in fashion and everyone wants to experience the lifestyle. Oh...and the Gyoza was raw!! I even requested they cook more and no imp. Way over priced too! Small half empty bowls. $50.00 Not recommended. read more
Nick, you did it again. You opened another delicious restaurant with excellent tasting food and fabulous service. I enjoyed the black garlic tonkatsu ramen with extra noodles. Delicious brother with very authentic spices and flavors. My new best ramen spot Love it love it Restaurant is clean and modern. Service is excellent and better than most places. Plenty of pork plenty of noodles and plenty of delicious tasting ramen It's always about the broth read more
This is a really cute little Ramen place. They offer Ramen and along with rice dishes. We got two different types of Ramen. My husband didn't care too much for his he said it wasn't a lot of flavor or spice. I really did like mine. He got the tonkotsu with spicy and I got the tonkotsu black. I did feel like there wasn't enough noodles in there. Next time I would order an extra side. read more

Wanted ramen and our usual ramen place was closed so decided to find another one and came across this place. Place is small but staff is very friendly and attentive. All the food we ordered came out quick! And fresh. I had the spicy miso ramen with pork belly mushrooms and egg. The pork belly was kind of tough and not super tender which is why I gave 4 stars. It was a bit disappointing but just on that and then the spice level also was a bit disappointing. But the noodles and broth were spot on! Delicious and the eggs rolls were very good. Shrimp tempura was ok the batter was a bit thick. Hubby had the pork fried rice which he loved! Ate most of it. My mom just had plain miso ramen with meat on side and she loved it. Overall, we would still be back and price wise, very reasonable and worth it! Thank you! read more

We tried the Ramen, the broth was spicy and flavorful! The appetizers were just ok... They actually forgot to put in our Ramen order so we had to wait longer. We asked for radishes and they said it will be extra charge for that so besides having to wait longer for all of our orders to come out we weren't compensated for the extra wait and forgotten order of our Spicy Ramen. Came all the way from Temecula to try this new place! Hoping it would be good and it was good but, not great. It has some potential so hoping they will keep on improving their food and service. As for now, I would totally recommend driving all the way to San Diego for Raki Raki ramen in Mira Mesa. I'm always cheering for all businesses to succeed. I hope my critic will help their business grow. Goodluck Tenji Ramen! Happy eating everyone! read more

Went in today to get my standard order (fried rice, and gyzo). First the server was extremely inconsiderate making a customer wait at the register to put in a togo order, whike she ran around the restaurant take other customers orders. Then they forgot to make my order. Next they did a rush job to fix it. But the quality was horrible. (whitest fried rice I've ever seen). Finally it end taking them almost 30 mins to get me my food. this is not how you treat frequent customers. read more
