Ultimately great service and yummy food. This is my go-to spot during lunch. I regularly enjoy their soups and kids size meals since I can't finish their large portions. You can download the app for rewards and quick access. It's cute inside! They decorate for the holidays and there's indoor or outdoor seating. A lot of people tend to pick up orders. The bolognese was really good, they have a vegetarian option available as well.
on two separate occasions, i picked up salmon salad and chicken pesto pasta from tender greens. the salmon salad was decent, the piece of salmon was not very big and there wasnt much special about the rest of the salad. the chicken pesto pasta was really good, but note that there's a lot of oil at the bottom. the chicken was cooked well though and the flavor was amazing. would definitely order again from tender greens!

How little quality control would it take for a restaurant called "Tender Greens" to serve a $20 lunch with dirty sand-laden salad greens? Absolutely disgusting and inedible. I went ahead and washed the lettuce myself because I hate food waste, but I'll never eat here again. The Mozzerella tomato sandwich was soaked in oil, add some gritty, unwashed lettuce and a cookie and charge $20? Insane. And my whole office was served these sandboxes for lunch. Nice work, Tender Greens. If a kitchen staff is inclined to serve food that is not properly cleaned, what does that tell you about the establishment?
came here for a late lunch and ordered the chicken pesto pasta, salmon bowl with grilled veggies and roasted potatoes, a side of mashed potatoes, and some lemonade. lemonade was nice, fresh and not too sweet and the entrees were pretty standard but tasted great. service was excellent- the lady who took our order was helpful and talkative. lots of indoor seating with well spaced out tables and light music in the background. would definitely come back!
I've walked past this restaurant a hundred times but never really gave it a chance. I finally decided to give it a shot and I wasn't disappointed. This place is great. My wife and I ordered the Grilled Salmon Salad and the Chicken Harvest Salad. Both of the salads were equally tasty and surprisingly very filling. I'll definitely come back and explore the menu for other yummy dishes.

I ordered the Cobb Salad and my friend got the Grilled Salmon plate -- both were super flavorful and generously portioned. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the grilled bread was perfectly toasted. The side of veggies was a nice touch too -- cooked just right with a little crunch. Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that the wait was a bit longer than expected, but the food definitely made up for it. Overall, a great lunch spot with healthy options that don't compromise on taste. Will definitely be back!
Review is purely on the food -- loved this bowl and will order it again very soon. Steak was cooked great! The balance between the steak, freshness and citrus from of the lil salad, and warmth of the sushi rice with toasted coconut shavings on it was perfect. Generous portion of steak, I'd say about 6oz maybe a little less. Normally bowls like this skimp out on the protein so I was very happy with it. They have a nutritional guide available online! Perfect for someone like myself because I track all my food (as much as I can). I will probably come here over Sweetgreen next time around

I don't know why I just assumed they were nationwide because there are so many in SoCal - but I was in SF with a bunch of colleagues from all over the country and they hadn't heard of TGs. At this location there is seating indoor and outdoors and is very walkable if you're nearby. Be careful during lunch time - literally right when we sat down the line was all of a sudden out the door and tons of people crowding to grab their pick up orders. The chaos was real. Still, the staff were calm and kind. Their menu is full of fresh, super tasty, healthy meals. I got the tomato mozzarella sandwich with roasted potatoes and agua fresca. The potatoes lacked flavor but the sandwich and agua fresca were excellent!

It came with some type of chipotle crema, which really tied the entire bowl together. The potatoes were the perfect balance between soft and crispy. I also got the carrot cupcake which was just okay. It was kind of dense and felt more like a muffin. A nice sweet treat nonetheless. If you're in a hurry be sure to get here just before the lunch rush which seemed to be right at 12:00. Arrived at about 11:55 and as we were waiting for our food, I looked up and the place was packed out of nowhere: They were moving pretty quickly though, so you may be okay even if you are short on time. Although the portion was big, I didn't feel too full or gross after my meal.
If you're looking for healthy food that's fast and casual in downtown San Francisco, you've only got a few options--and one of the best is Tender Greens. I like the health consciousness, greenery, and organic produce over at MIXT a bit better, but here they've got many more options. In particular, they offer several different types of healthy protein, including decent salmon, and they also include the calorie count. It's also a really cool atmosphere, with lots of cartoons on the walls and bright lighting that gives it a lively, fun vibe. The staff isn't super friendly or warm the way they are at MIXT--a relatively small point, but worth noting. And special bonus: super healthy purple potatoes
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I ordered lunch for 15 people via UberEats 4 days prior to the meeting date. Delivery was supposed to be today, between 11:30 am - 12:00 pm. No phone call. No email. I checked the order status, and the order was cancelled at 10:45 am. Seriously? I am an Exec Assistant and if I don't come through, it reflects terribly on me. I could get fired. Let me say it again - I could get fired for not providing lunch to 15 people, which included my C-Suite. I will never give my business to Tender Greens again.

My coworker & I work around the corner and were craving something fresh for lunch-- we were excited to try our first meal from here but it was sadly disappointing :( We were both very let down by the portion sizes to price. The servings seemed like a kids plate. We would've loved a bit more protein, especially the shrimp serving size. They also got my order wrong with my sides. I've been coming here for a long time, they cut the portions in half for the same price, half bread, half steak, and half fries even the salad is less. I come here regularly but looks like they're cutting down portions for the same price. Never ordering from here again, so disappointed. A solid place for a quick lunch break in Downtown. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Bowl. Katsu was juicy and crunchy. The ginger dressing was really good and using sushi rice was a great idea. I wish there were more than 4 pcs of katsu but the bowl overall was tasty, hearty, and a well-balanced meal. This place is on the pricier side though, especially given that it's super casual. Got the tuna nicoise, and grilled salmon plate with romaine hearts and roasted potatoes, for dinner on a Friday evening. The roasted potatoes were a tad salty, but otherwise, all of the items in our dishes were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Service was incredibly slow, the guy at the register seemed lost as if he was not trained properly. But he was friendly when serving the food at our table. The limited days/hours of operation for the SF location are a bit inconvenient, but I'm a fan of Tender Greens, and this restaurant had the same clean and inviting atmosphere you get at other locations, along with consistently tasty menu options, which I appreciate. read more

Decent place to grab a quick meal. Inside is spacious and clean. Food can take a while, so I usually pre-order through the app to pick up ahead of time. There's a lot of customizations you can add to your plate. You can pick the protein and all sorts of sides. My favorites are the salmon and potatoes. The fried chicken sandwich is also amazing! This time I got the salmon with side salad and mashed potatoes. Accidentally mixed up the salad dressing with the gravy, but hey still tasted good. Lettuce leaves were fresh. The greens were in fact tender. Just the bread wasn't great. It was too oily and grey-colored? Overall, it's not bad. Fives words to make a rainy day in San Francisco a little more comfortable: Chicken pesto and tomato soup. The sandwich will fill you up for your busy day in the city and your soup will warm you up. Trying to find a place you can get in and out quickly during a power lunch can be a challenge but Tender Greens made it easy. The counter line was a bit of a gaggle but other regulars will direct to where the line starts. When you order, they give you a table topper and someone will come find you when your food is ready. Despite the busyness I felt like the service was quick. Really enjoyed the lunch vibe and would consider coming back in the future for a healthy, hearty lunch spot near Salesforce. read more

Ordered via Doordash, The way this gave me the craziest food poisoning, I got this Thursday and it's Saturday I am still dying. This was the last thing I ate, initially it was so yummy but maybe because the cauliflower was blue-ish/purple due to oxidization or whatever the case may be. I woke up Friday feeling absolutely terrible. I used to love Tender Greens but this right here was the nail in the coffin. I write this review with so much gratitude! Had snafu while hosting a company happy hour today; 11 minutes before 100 people arrived I found out our food order with another company fell through. I ran to tender greens and explained my situation. Within minutes their entire staff was packing plates, silverware, the best bbq chicken I've eaten in long time, along with shrimp, steak, veggies, Mac and cheese and cookies. I was able to quickly rush back to the office and set up just 20 minutes into our event. We got tons of compliments on the food and our attendees didn't even know about the snafu. I can not thank their staff enough for saving the day with amazing food and great service! Highly highly recommend tender greens! Next time I'll order catering here! read more

Came here for lunch and got the wrong sandwich. I ordered the CHIPOTLE BBQ CHICKEN and got the FRIED CHICKEN instead I had a work meeting and so I didn't have time to return it, which I wish I did because the sandwich itself was soggy and very dry, I specifically didn't want fried and that's why I got the CHIPOTLE BBQ CHICKEN but they mixed up my order. I thought, based on the photos, this was going to offer vibrant, filling bowls of healthy eats with options for people of all diets. And maybe that's true based on what you get? But The Happier Vegan bowl was pretty anemic. It comes with "baked falafel, farro salad, hummus, pasta pearls, heirloom cherry tomatoes, baby lettuce, and sunflower seed pesto". Only the falafel were small, soggy patties that had no flavor (I've actually never had falafel that tasted quite like this or had this kind of gooey interior consistency); the farro salad and pasta pearls were also flavorless and somehow the same exact texture as each other; the baby greens was mostly inedible core; and, the avocado I added for nearly $2 was four nickel-sized pieces. The whole dish was underwhelming and incredibly oily due to the pesto (I'm glad I used it sparingly). In my experience, there are better lunch options for quality, price, and dietary restrictions in this area of SF! read more
