Focaccia used to be really busy. This is my first time back since 2020. I used to work right across the street at EC3 for 10+ years and now I'm on Battery St. Today at 12:30pm, there was only one person in line for the salad line and one other person on the hot food line. No one was in line for the sandwiches. It was pretty sad to see the employees out number the customers. I had good memories of Focaccia's food but not the service. Service was excellent today however. My focaccia burger tasted OK. It was a 1/2 pound patty burger, cheese, bacon & fries $16. It was solid. I'm going to try to come here more as I'm supposed to be in the office 3x a week.

The staff there are so kind and welcoming! I went early in the morning around 6:30 AM and ordered the Focaccia Special and when I tell you it was absolutely to die for I mean it!!! So yummy and such a great atmosphere will be visiting again.

    Baked to perfection

Freshest, most thoughtful food in fidi/downtown. Best salmon downtown- baked to perfection.

I've been working in FiDi for over a year now and just discovered Focaccia. I wish I had been here sooner. I had been getting salads from Mixt but much prefer the folks here and the prices of their salads. In terms of servings, a small salad is very filling and their ingredients are fresh. I also like the option to get a sandwich and their ready made parfaits. Another spot that gets busy during the rush so come early or later in the afternoon. Pros: Delicious and filling salads Cons: None Bottom line: Best salad in FiDi IMO

I found what appears to be an entire avocado pit in my salad. One of many mediocre lunch destinations in the Embarcadero area. Salads are decently fresh and edible - I do like the caramelized pears as one of the topping options.

My company ordered from Focaccia Market & Bakery for our weekly catered office lunch. It was Friday, February 19th and everyone got something from the boxed lunch section. Hot sandwich box: served on hot fresh baked bread with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and condiments on the side *Roasted turkey box: pesto mayonnaise on wheat bread instead of rustic bread, no swiss cheese, add Fresh mozzarella & basil *Mini caesar salad: romaine lettuce, house-made croutons, cherry tomatoes, parmesan cheese, and caesar dressing *Cookies: Oatmeal raisin Last time we ordered from a Focaccia Bakery, I got a salad. This time, I thought I'd try a sandwich. The turkey sandwich was good. Thick slices of roasted turkey. I love mozzarella and basil, so I thought it'd be a good addition. I found myself wishing my sandwich was heated more so the cheese was hot and melty. I didn't care for the wheat bread as it was too soft and light. I more of a fan of chewier breads. I ended up eating the insides of the second half of my sandwich and leaving the bread behind. The caesar salad was delicious as was the oatmeal cookie. I think I like Focaccia more for their salads. I remember the salad being satisfying and a hefty portion. Part of a good sandwich is the bread. In the end, I'm just not a fan of Focaccia's wheat bread. Maybe I should have gotten it on their namesake bread instead?

My buddy recently started a new job in SOMA and we wanted to meet up for lunch to catch up. I met him at his office and we walked toward Embarcadero, stopping at Focaccia for a boxed lunch to enjoy in the sun. I ordered the chicken parmesan with macaroni and cheese and roasted potatoes. The chicken parm was delish, but I found the macaroni and cheese really grainy and the potatoes were way undercooked. The sides were really disappointing, but I did enjoy the chicken and would get it again. Service was decently friendly and with a drink, my total was nearly $13. It wasn't the most affordable meal ever but it's on par for the area. There's lots of hot choices, as well as sandwiches and salads if you like too. Overall however, the sides were really disappointing and left a bad taste in my mouth. I'd give it another try but I'd definitely skip the mac and potatoes. Food: 7/10 Service: 7/10 Price: $$ Atmosphere: 8/10

It was probably a confluence of events but Focaccia Market & Bakery played a big role in really turning me on to salads years ago. That low fat raspberry dressing is like crack and I love it! Sweet and savory, pair it with some spinach and arugula plus fixings of fancy for the day and it's a yummy salad for lunch. What I love about this location however is the grill next door. Had a grilled basa over fresh salad and it was delicious. Nice char on the fish but still moist and flavorful. Also in the cooked foods section there's the always reliable roast chicken and sides plus daily specials. Favorites over time include the tri-tip and fried fish. Love the side dished too. I can honestly make a meal out of some mac and cheese, grilled vegetables, and spinach. Lines are insane during lunch and they snake around the store but I think it's worth it. This isn't the closest Focaccia to me anymore but this is probably my favorite location despite the longer wait. Regardless of location though, the raspberry dressing keeps me coming back for more.

It's a shame that the service is so horrible here because the food is actually not bad at all! My company uses their catering service quite often & I have been the one placing the orders for it lately. My co-workers & I know how frustrating it is to deal with them, but everyone in our office loves their breakfast offerings, so that's why we still use them. They have once before been over an hour late for catering to be served to a very important meeting. After that, they seemed to have improve, but by coming 20-30 minutes before the requested time & even then the breakfast sandwiches were warm (not hot) at best. They can't use "anticipating traffic" as an excuse because our office is located across the street. I always put on our Seamless order too, which is faxed to them..to cut the pastries in half..yet, they NEVER EVER do it. When confronting the manager, he told us to give it back to the delievery guy and have them cut it if it every arrives like that (which it still does). Do you think that's reasonable to have someone bring back a tray of pastries to their restaurant, wait for them to cut it, then bring it back, all when we have a time sensitive meeting that's going to happen?! Their pastries & fruits are always fresh. The crossiant breakfast sandwiches are pretty good, but contain a little too much egg and processed cheese. They do however seem to be inconsistent. Usually the sausage sandwiches are a patty but last order it was one skinny link. Lunch there with a friend today was the final straw though. I told the guy behind the food counter that I wanted the 1/4 chicken. And I thought he said back, chicken 1/4 (he did have a fairly strong accent), so I said yes, & instead he handed me chicken curry, but my friend took it because that's what he wanted. I got my 1/4 chicken with mac n cheese & mushrooms since it came with 2 sides for $6.95. However when I got up to the front the cashier was charging me $8.95 plus tax. I told her it's only a 1/4 chicken and was listed at $6.95. She talked to the other cashier and came back & told me that this time she'll charge me $6.95, but that when food is in the container it was in, than that means it's $8.95. How am I supposed to know that? It's not self service, and if there was really some stupid policy about that then the server should have known that. And to top it off I saw a shiny dot on part of my chicken skin & a mushroom..it looked like aluminum foil! I don't even want to deal with them anymore, but I'm sure we can't brush them off that easily for work; I just know that personally, I won't walk back in there for my own lunch. If needed though, I'd rather walk to the other location than deal with this one in hopes that their customer service isn't just as bad.

I saw the reviews about the long lines, so I waited until after 1pm before setting foot in here. Today's downpour of rain kept the crowds away, so I had a much more peaceful experience :) My crab sandwich was heavenly. Nestled between fresh ciabatta bread, cole slaw, cajun mayo, with red onions and tomato on the side, it was perfection. It comes with a choice of side (I chose tortilla soup), all for only $10. I've paid upwards of $15 for a crab roll at other places. My hubby picked up a tuna melt with a side of the house-made mac and cheese, also for $10. It was the perfect comfort food for a rainy day. Foccacia has two parts: The door on the left is the "Market" with gourmet sandwiches, paninis, burgers, and salads. The door on the right leads to their bakery, where you'll find scones, cookies, a salad bar, and lots of prepackaged lunch options. They're open for breakfast, too. Their specials change regularly, so I'll be looking out for that crab sandwich again.

Solid lunch spot to satisfy all my hot lunch plate desires. Focaccia is pretty meh when it comes to its sandwiches and salads. But what converts me into a loyal repeat customer are the hot entrees - they have delicious rotisserie chicken, chicken picata, sides of rice, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. Clearly these aren't the healthiest entrees to feed your bellies, but my oh my are they good. The only downside is the food coma you're left with post the ravenous lunch. But wait, it gets even better - you can grab a free slice of focaccia bread (you have a choice of wheat or white but seriously, if you're going all out, might as well do it right and get the white) on your way out. This small touch gets me every time as the bread is seriously addicting, exactly what one would expect from a place named Focaccia. The next time you're craving a nice hot meal during lunch in FiDi, give Focaccia a try and I guarantee you won't regret it. Happy Eating, Yelpers!

4-Stars all the way...awesome food, great salad, great selections. Their grill is awesome too. I forgot what I got in the past & I forgot to take pictures. And unlimited focaccia bread!! HAHA...to me it's unlimited, because my chinese tendancy kicks in. They are not a 5-Star because their prices at the grill is a tad much. From the very first bite, I knew I had found the IT bagel spot in the city. I ordered one pumpernickel and one poppyseed. I dubiously asked if they had any vegan cream cheese fully expecting the answer to be no, as I didn't see it listed on the menu, but she confirmed instantly that they do offer vegan scallion cream cheese and added a compostable tub of it to my order. She also directed me to the canister of compostable knives available for takeout. I was in and out quicker than I expected. While waiting for the bus, I used the plastic knife I picked up to slice one of the bagels and slather on some of the vegan scallion cream cheese. I was impressed by how glossy the bagels appeared on the outside but how soft they are in the inside. The vegan scallion cream cheese really elevated the bagel to the next level. Idk what they put in it, but it's crack. It doesn't taste anything like the original Kite Hill spread I've gotten elsewhere. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical because it only came with two tacos, and I was starving. I almost ordered a second serving, but I'm so glad I didn't... or maybe I should have because they were that good. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and you could actually taste the hot honey without it overpowering everything else. It paired so well with the corn, slaw, and sauce, creating the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and fresh. And that squeeze of lemon on top? It brought everything together. Easily one of the best specials I've had in a while. One thing I also appreciated was how extensive the menu is. Since I almost always order a burger, I hadn't realized how many options they offer. My friend and I came with our kids, and everyone found something they were excited to eat, which made ordering easy. We grabbed one of the outdoor tables since we stopped by after the lunch rush on a weekday. The seating itself was nice, but be prepared to share the space with some very bold birds. One especially large bird was absolutely determined to steal our food. Obviously that's not the restaurant's fault, but it's worth mentioning if you're hoping for a quiet, uninterrupted meal outside. I can also see this place getting pretty hectic during peak hours, so if your schedule is flexible, I'd recommend stopping by outside the lunch rush.
