It seems like it'd be worth getting yourself over there during the short pick up window if you want a sandwich. I wanted a salad though. Sadly I was disappointed and wouldn't get this again. It was small and unexciting. You'd think a place that specializes in salads would have more interesting ingredients. I was hoping to get some ideas, but nope. Kudos to them though for supporting this program to prevent food waste. If you are going to get yourself a salad there you would likely be able to try all sorts of interesting additions, so I don't want to discourage you. My coworker gave me a coupon he got from their Crocker Galleria location since it's closing. It says to come here for 50% off by 11/14. I ordered the turkey pesto half sandwich, but didn't expect it to be cold. It looks like they just took it from the fridge? It was only $3 something for half off of original price of $7. There is a sticker that says made today though. The pesto sauce and type of bread definitely made this more elevated than Subway. This is a good deal in expensive FiDi since I'm full from eating this half sandwich already. They also have a pair combo deal if you want to pair it with a soup or salad, which means your sandwich will be a dollar or so cheaper. read more

The salad, on the other hand, wasn't even close to a Burmese tea leaf salad. It pretty much had no flavor. The only saving grace was the chocolate chip cookie that we had for dessert. Convenient online ordering, though it's hard to call them via phone to make changes. Tried several times to make a change, but could never get through to anyone. They also do catering, which is a nice option to have. We were able to order a bunch of food for an office meeting just a little before we needed it. The proportions are fair, and food was good. Had a some sandwiches, fruit, and cookie; the cookie was the star of the meal. Sandwich wasn't bad, but nothing that stands out from the crowd. I would say they are a good choice for in-office meetings and events, and are nicer than other standard options. I would recommend this location to those who want a change from the typical boxed lunch--but not too much of a chain. When I went to pick up the order, I was told that this special is available for breakfast only so what I received was a small vegetarian bowl with no eggs. The staff then accused me of taking advantage of them as I had been "warned" not to do it again previously. First of all, I have never been to this restaurant before. They're the new 'evolution' of San Francisco Soup Company. I was hoping for just a side of chorizo protein today - since I wasn't that hungry - but the lady helping us -wasn't exactly sure how to ring it up - and so I got the next best thing - a massive big serving of moist carrot cake....cake... That pastry was huge and I could taste the granules of sugar in every bite. I think my head is still reeling from the sugar bump. The carrot cake bread was solid, but I would pass on breakfast at Ladle & Leaf again. Their healthier breakfast and lunch options sound great in concept - but the execution of them is lacking. If you're looking for a grab and go spot - there's not a ton of 'go' here. After buying breakfast items to go at a premium price, it was serendipity to stumble across Ladle and Leaf at 221 Montgomery Street. I absolutely love going there not only because the food there is truly well prepared with care, but also because of the professional and quality service from the team that runs the place. I must mention Marisol, whose genuine warmth and caring service, makes me feel special. If they are out of my favourite tuna sandwiches, she makes sure that the kitchen whips one up in record time. I came here during my lunch break around 1pm. Service: short line, went really quick to the point where I was a little rushed to order. Food: I got a soup and salad combo. I got the Indian spiced lentil soup and a pre made Caesar salad. The soup was good but had a texture like baby food. The salad was really good and fresh. The dressing was yummy and so was the Parmesan cheese on it. Later I saw that people were getting samples of the soup so if I come back I will for sure get a sample first. Ambiance: there is no tables or seats at all at this location. So plan on just picking it up and eating it at work. If I could eat here everyday I would! I used to visit the Oakland location when it was SF Soup Co in the city center. This location is in an absolutely beautiful building. It was extremely clean and the 2 workers very friendly and efficient. They added cilantro, green onions, & cheese to my soup. I got a basic tortilla soup because the specials were all sold out (it was after 3 pm) but it did not disappoint. I devoured it in about 5 minutes. The ingredients were solid and the chicken was very good quality. They offer plenty of healthy options such as bowls, salad, and drinks (I went with the tasty fresh OJ). Filling lunch & drink came to around $12. Crossing my fingers I get to visit more often to try the other offerings, everything looked delicious! read more

Great place close to our Hotel. I was craving a scooped out bagel and saw a giant bagel pic on the wall as their advertisement. They have so much more to choose from too. great salads, lots of grab and go items that look tasty. My bf saw the guy drop my bagel on the floor and then have to get a new one. When I got it back to the hotel, it barely had any cream cheese on it, I was pissed. I wasn't going to walk back there to ask for some, so I had to order a side from the hotel and have them bring it up to me. We also ordered the avocado toast with an egg. Cooked perfectly. They crack it in a pan and then out it in this oven thing and it comes out perfect. $5.50 for that was not bad. The bagel with cream cheese $2.50, not bad if it had ANY cream cheese one it.
