    Eggplant Beef Stew
    Janice O.

Ordered takeout through Doordash. No problems ordering or receiving order in a timely manner. I ordered the eggplant beef stew which was good. I thought at first there was too much rice, but it really wasn't. Stew was nice and I would order again. Also got the arugula salad which has red pickled beets on top. Did not come with dressing. Happy to find another wonderful food place in San Francisco.

Perhaps they enforce more strictly for dinner? We shared the traditional salad, French dip, cheeseburger, and key lime pie. Salad was pretty good, we enjoyed the mustard-honey dressing. French dip was good but not super mindblowing. I wasn't the biggest fan of the cheeseburger because the yellow mustard gave it a cheap deli vibe. Fries were great though, the beef tallow taste was noticeable and the texture was similar to In N Out fries. Key lime pie was solid, loved the crust. Service was professional and they checked in frequently. Overall I feel like the food was decent and we enjoyed the ambiance which felt like an upscale diner during the day. I can imagine the dimly lit ambiance at night would be very nice.

My order was messed up, and once they finally came around to see how things were I let them know about the mistake. No worries, mistakes happen. Once the replacement arrived I finished the entire meal before I saw her again. She was cold and acted like me eating there was an inconvenience for her. You know you work in customer service right? The ONLY reason this isn't a one star review is because of the manager. She came over and noticed something was wrong, I explained the situation and she went out of her way to fix it. Well done. I'm frankly surprised a place could have such lousy servers but such exceptional managers. It's a real head scratcher...

My wife and I love this place and eat here frequently…read more Everything we've had here has been wonderful. Tonight we had the meatballs and a gluten-free Conrad. If you haven't tried their gluten-free pizza, I recommend giving it a shot. It is a "Detroit-style" crust and it is amazing (if you like that sort of thing). It's a mix of crunch and airiness. It's the closest thing to Portland's Boxcar Pizza, and IMHO is the best pizza in the Bay Area. Service is always good, and tonight Jordan took care of us and he did a fine job. It's a great place for a casual date or to bring the family. The place is clean, there's a chatty energy, and it seems a place where everyone is welcome.

CORN RIBLETS! 4.3…read more North Beach, a happy, vibrant neighborhood, sits in a hilly pocket of sunshine in San Francisco. During our weekend stay, we ventured out in search of pizza. In North Beach, aka "Little Italy," pizza spots abound. We decided to give Flour + Water a try and made reservations ahead of our visit. The restaurant was bustling, lively, and packed with patrons. We ordered: Corn Riblets ~ crema, ricotta salata, cilantro, Calabrian chili. This is corn-kernel crack! Hawaiian Pizza ~ capicola, pineapple, fresh mozzarella, pickled Fresno, chili crisp. A playful twist on the traditional pineapple pizza, with the addition of Fresno chiles, which bring a fruity, smoky flavor. I especially loved the texture of the mildly spicy chili crisp. A few things that make their pizzas special: * The dough: They use naturally leavened dough made from locally sourced organic wheat. The wild yeast and beneficial bacteria ferment for at least three days, creating a crust that is light, airy, and easier to digest. * The layering process: First, a little aged Parmesan is sprinkled over the flattened dough, followed by a layer of sauce, then the toppings and cheese. The dough was good. I could taste a little more salt in their crust compared with some other pizzerias, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It definitely enhances a pizza with lighter toppings. Service was good and efficient. As busy as they were, there wasn't much opportunity for chitchat, but everything moved along smoothly. We scored a good pizza, but even better was the discovery of the corn riblets. Those alone are worth a return visit! We'll definitely be back!

From the moment we walked in, the entire space hummed with that rich, classic energy--a vibrant dance between the busy bar upfront, the lively dining room, and the open kitchen working in seamless harmony. Being seated right in the center booth gave us a front-row seat to the whole grand show, an absolute perfect vantage point to take in the warm, nostalgic atmosphere (complete with framed vintage photographs that instantly transport you back in time). Even with the Sunday rush in full swing, the hospitality was nothing short of effortless. Carlos at the host desk welcomed us with such a genuine, warm smile that any wait felt practically non-existent. There's a rare, old-school kind of care in how he handles guests--attentive, gracious, and completely unflappable despite a packed house. It's no wonder this was my fourth visit here; people like Carlos are what transform a great meal into a cherished ritual. When someone takes the extra moment to make sure you're looked after--even offering a direct connection to their Walnut Creek location for future tight reservations--you know you're in special hands. And then, of course, came the table full of pure culinary delight: Caviar + Chicken Tower ($60): The absolute showstopper of the afternoon. Crispy, golden-fried chicken paired with cool, delicate dollops of crème fraîche and rich caviar, resting atop a mountain of parmesan-dusted fries. It was indulgent, playful, and completely unforgettable. The Pizza Salad ($22) & Marry Me Farfalle ($33): Everything you want from a classic Italian-American lunch--vibrant flavors, incredible richness, and comforting soul. Drinks & Libations: Perfectly crafted from start to finish. The Watermelon Hugo Spritz ($17) was refreshing and bright, while Elena's Espresso Martini ($17) provided that smooth, decadent kick. The N.A. Citrus Spritz ($14) and a warm Cappuccino ($5) rounded out the table beautifully. Mini Bombolini ($15): A heavenly finish. Warm, pillowy Italian fried doughnuts tossed generously in sugar--the ultimate sweet high note to end a perfect Sunday feast. It was, start to finish, a deeply satisfying experience--the kind of afternoon where great food, wonderful energy, and true hospitality meet. A absolute favorite spot that never fails to impress!

We got there pretty early, around 9ish and waited about 15 mins to order and another 10ish for our name to be called. They usually sell out of the two better ones early on. We shared the chile verde. I've had the short rib before. Both early bird favorites that sell out. Both are EXCELLENT. The perfect size burrito. Equally distributed ingredients throughout the burrito so every bite is deliciously filled. No mouthfuls of just tortilla. The sauce is a must. It gives the extra little kick you're hoping for. When people said they found one of the best breakfast burritos at Bodega I first thought they must not be from San Francisco and they must be somewhere in Eastern United States where they call any corner store a Bodega. Then I was thinking they were referring to Bodega the Vietnamese restaurant in SF. I then thought it couldn't be the Hummus Bodega on Geary boulevard or Coffee Bodega in the Marina. I then thought the most of these best breakfast burritos are in the Mission District. I finally got to find out it's a bar called Bodega North Beach which sells breakfast burritos only on Saturday mornings. On a Fall stroll on a sunny morning I landed at the North Beach a pickle ball throw away from Washington Square Park and lots of restaurants with Angel hair pasta. There was no inside in the morning because it's all to go orders. I decided to try their chorizo and sausage breakfast burritos. The sausage breakfast sausage with avocado ,eggs, and a bit flakey potatoes like some in SF. The chorizo breakfast burrito was savory but a bit tangier and the sauce enhanced the burrito flavor. It's one of the top breakfast burrito in SF but it's a worthy contender and easily a top ten in the city. Wish it was more cheesy like some in SF. San Francisco is a city is small in size but when it comes to restaurants it packs a punch that's "mega "there is always good food from Chestnut street to Van Ness to Irving and "Noriega" which is a block away from a street called " Ortega" but you won't find this salsa in a jar because their salsa is made in house at a bar which sells good breakfast burritos on the avenue of Columbus called "Bodega" Bodega North Beach is located a few blocks where Bruce Lee ( RIP) was born who also played on TV the character "Kato " if you go to North Beach in SF you will find dozens of restaurants that offer Angel hair and fettuccine "Alfredo"the breakfast burrito at Bodega has a bit of egg ,avocado, and "potato" and a hint of "tomato "
