This place does not get enough attention. It's a very unassuming location with a homey feel. It shocked me with the flavor and authenticity of the food. There was no line at all, which is shocking for 8pm on a Friday night. I entered, ordered, and received my food in under 10 minutes. The staff were also very friendly. The flavor is what surprised me the most. The carnitas were crispy on the outside and juicy on the in, plus packed with a fantastic pork flavor. The tortillas were grilled perfectly, and the refried beans tasted like something that a family would make. Each bite also had a bit of each ingredient evenly distributed, the mark of a great burrito. Stopped at this taqueria for a taco run and it hit exactly how it should. I ordered 4 Asada tacos solid size, fresh, juicy and packed with legit flavor. They set you up right from the start with complimentary chips and salsa while you wait The salsas they serve alongside the tacos are straight fire m, balanced and exactly what tacos are asking for. The spot itself is clean, bright and loud with colorful walls, that actually lives up to the menu. Staff are on their game too friendly, attentive and quick to make sure you're good. My first but certainly not last visit here! I am in the neighborhood and have been missing some good Mexican Food here and with fresh salsas made in house delicious. Definitely want to try the sopas very soon- maybe tomorrow! The aqua frescos taste fresh as well I am trying the mango tonight. Friendly service from Johanna and the ambiance is like a small cafe or taquería. Well it's the 4th of July! The only thing I can think of celebrating is our dear neighbors so I went back today to try their Menudo. Loved this place. Happened to be walking nearby and saw it. The inside is clean and uncluttered. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. I had a question about the refried bean (are they made with beef lard) and the gentleman working the register asked multiple people in the kitchen to make sure that he had the right information. He was very patient as I went through the menu. Food was fresh and delicious. Portions were very good. I got the regular shrimp burrito and it came with chips. It was more than enough food for 2 meals and there was a lot of shrimp in it. The staff was very generous with salsa. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to people. read more

Low carb diet I got the Aguachile verde! It has a whole lotta of avocado cucumber and shrimp! The red onions and the verde sauce give it a great crisp bite (like a good vinaigrette)! Perfect after workout food! Will try the Torre de Mariscos next time with shrimp and Octopus ! The portion is HUGE! Like 6-8x the size of what you'd get at La Mar! Reminds me of Cabo San Lucas! Rating simply for the fish tacos! We're from Chula Vista (hella close to the border) so always apprehensive when it comes to trying new taquerias but we were pleasantly surprised with our fried fish tacos. What's super nice is they ask you what kind of beans you want, in SD they don't do beans in tacos so this is different all together. We got refried and it was super yummy. Service super fast! It might be authentic, but if I'm going to place an order, that's what I'm expecting and I'm paying for. I went to the counter Laura. It says on my receipt took my order. I repeated it. It came out and it was wrong. Two things I asked for how I preferred it made -guacamole no salsa no sour cream and I said please can you cut it in half no problem. However, there was this older white man who, very straightforward, asked my group of friends and for a picture of us to send to his friends. We told him "no" and he got offended. Even after we told him no, he kept addressing us and making us uncomfortable. We let the workers know, and they said because he ordered food there was nothing he can do. Despite the fact that he made a group of 5 young women feel very uncomfortable. I'm upset they didn't do anything about the situation because he gave them money for food, benefiting their business.
