Needed to update my review because mixed has surpassed sweet green in my book. The peachy and the bacchans bowl are to die for. The sauces are unique and delicious and they go "heavy" with no extra charge. I prefer dining there. The plates are nice, but the vibes are chill.

    PUEBLA SALAD
    Kevin Y.

This is my go to spot for a quick weekday lunch when working from home. They have so many salad options with tons of customizable options so you can get it exactly how you want it. Much more flexibility than going to a restaurant and choosing from 4 salads on the menu. My favorite is the Puebla salad. If you're a valkyries fan they have a salad named after them too! Prices could be a little cheaper, but that's what you get in this neighborhood, so what can you do.

I got a make my own salad. Here's how to went: Quality: it's good it's fresh, nothing super out of this world but the quality of the veggies are good Options: plenty plenty plenty Cleanliness: the bathrooms were clean, the ground, the tables, and utensils were clean as well, the prep station was a little messy and there's definitely cross contamination but I guess it wasn't the word but definitely not the best Customer service: not good. I wanted a build my own and I thought there was unlimited toppings, I wasn't told there was a limit and I asked for more toppings and was told no he just started mixing the salad. He said it would be extra and that's fine he shouldn't have assumed. I went to pay and I wanted and they said "you paid already, went through" and kept chit chatting no you need utensils or napkins or a bag. I sat down and did some work and had to ask for a bag and they just stared at me. Idk they weren't customer oriented, not the worst but definitely not welcoming.

Mandarin Salad at home sub tofu
    Matt J.

Eating the Mandarin Salad, you'd forget you got it from a fast casual salad bowl chain (not that there's anything wrong with that kind of establishment). The ingredients are complementary but also stand out on their own, both in terms of flavor and texture. And while the pre-composed salad is excellent, the customization option is appreciated--especially being able to sub tofu for chicken. Plus, the tofu is well-seasoned and delicious, not a raw afterthought like so many tofu substitutes. While the service is friendly and efficient, I wouldn't strongly recommend the restaurant for dining in, as it's not a super warm space. That said, Mixt doesn't seem architected with dine-in in mind, so I don't consider that a demerit.

    JING'S CHILI CRISP SALAD

Ordered the chili crunch salad 1 oz of chicken, if I'm being generous Dry, not flavorful (I ordered heavy dressing - mixed in) Crispy cauliflower very good So obviously a sweetgreen copy cat, down to how they stack the salad cartons.

    Barbecue Bowl
    Weijie W.

We were close by and decided to come here for dinner. We ordered the barbecue bowl and the Dave's taco bowl with kale. I asked to substitute the cilantro lime rice in the taco bowl for quinoa and staff were happy to help me. They also asked me how much dressing I would like- heavy, medium, or light. The inside was minimalistic and modern, and there were plenty of open tables and booths to sit at. I would definitely come again when I'm too tired or don't have time to make dinner.

    BUTTERMILK WAFFLE

From Saturday, 1/20/2024: Some of the items I ordered were: - Sweet & Savory- Buttermilk Waffle - Sides- Crispy Butterball Potatoes - Coffee & Tea- Iced Latte I have always said there is something else from the menu I wanted to try. The items from my recent order were it. I like the idea of serving breakfast until 2 pm Saturday and Sunday. On a Saturday (or Sunday), breakfast after 10:30 AM or 11:00 AM? This is the spot! Service is good, staff members are friendly. Tables and chairs are available if you dine in. You can also order in person or via DoorDash for takeout.

    Roach in rice bowl

Roach in the rice bowl, which also was room temperature rice and chicken. I have liked other locations of this store but this one has seemed dirty before to me and now this.

Super fast and good size salad Don't come here for the service, This is a quick lunch CB spot with fresh greens

    SHROOM SCRAMBLE

Shroom scramble was not great. No seasoning at all. Bacon was 6.50 each for 2 pieces. Not my first choice of spot for breakfast.

    SONOMA sandwich with SPLIT FRIES
    Lauren Y.

Split is a super cute restaurant located on Polk street. The interior is modern and spacious- a great place to catch up with friends. You order at the counter and pick your seat. Sonoma Sandwich: chicken breast, sliced apple, goat cheese, pickled fennel, arugula, and walnut currant spread. I absolutely loved this flavor combination. The sandwich tasted heavenly and light. My only gripe is that I felt like the sandwich at times was dry. Maybe the chicken could've been juicer or they could add more spread or an aioli to the buns. Split fries: this was made to perfection, I love the freshly grated Parmesan that was added on top! Overall I'd definitely come back! Wish their to-go boxes were a little bigger or had a fastening feature on it because the lid wouldn't close on my other half of my sandwich. :)

I come here for caffeine and French fries. my phone service doesn't work well in the space, but hey it's T-Mobile. Is 3 stars a bad review? I like most service, the French fries are good and sweet potato fries. The eggs weren't very good when I had them as a scramble, and the chicken tenders were small with a lot of breading. But the burger was great. I should give them a 4, but can't because of the eggs. I'll be back, just not for the scramble or chicken tenders

BEETBOX, SPLIT FRIES, BUFFALO Chicken sandwich
    Tracy B.

My husband and I were looking for something new. So we found this place. After what happened I wish I went somewhere else. I got really bad food poisoning after I ate the Buffalo chicken sandwich. I am miserable. I had stuff coming out both ends of my body.(sorry for being detailed) I'm still sick. I'm thinking the chicken wasn't very fresh when they cooked it. My husband got the beet salad. He he enjoyed it. I definitely won't be coming back here again, not going to recommend this place either. I hope this food poisoning will be gone by tomorrow so I can enjoy my Thanksgiving vacation.

We split 2 pizzas - smoky eggplant and sausage (so we could get a red and a white). I liked the texture of both pizzas, but I think I'm more partial to the flavor of the white pizza. I liked the broccolini on the pizza, it added a different element to the dish. The eggplant one was good too - the chilis on it completed it. Overall, I would come back here if I'm with friends who like pizza - the other pizzas on the menus seemed interesting to try!

A reservation for two was easy to snag day of on a Sunday, and the restaurant was surprisingly large with a modern, casual feel. The dough for both pizzas was exceptional, as I expected, and I really enjoyed the flavor and toppings on the burrata pizza. The pesto pizza, however, was just ok in flavor. Both pizzas were very thin so I say at least 1/2 of the pizza per person is needed to feel full. Overall, it definitely feels more affordable than the other location, which is a nice plus.

I came with a group of friends who were all tourists and first timers to Boudin, and they were all so happy and satisfied with their meals. The portion size is great for the price of $15. Despite being a busy tourist destination, the cafe is very efficient with ordering and food service. They are really on top of it! There's lots of outdoor seating and limited indoor seating. There are free water cups for diners. There is a bathroom upstairs. Definitely would consider this as a must-try when you're visiting San Francisco! It's in a prime location that's walking distance to many attractions such as Lombard St and Pier 39. Along with yummy food, they also have many other pastries, including cutely shaped sourdoughs.

I was impress that it was flaming and the skilled cooks just tossed the food in the air and flipped the food in the pan that way. So, I was looking forward to coming here, the Original Joe's, the place where this famous dish started. I gotta say the parking in North Beach is impossible, especially with the big Suburban we rented, so we just Ubered over from the hotel. This is one busy restaurant. Prices are SF high as well. But this is a company paid assignment so what the heck. I ordered the Joe's Special and my friend ordered the cheeseburger. I know, kinda ordinary, but it's supposed to be really good. I didn't get to see the food tossing cooks from where we were seated, but the food came out and smelled wonderful. My friends cheeseburger and fries came out with beefy meat sandwiched inside a torpedo like French bread. My Joe's special filled the plate. It's made with ground beef, mushrooms, onions and some other stuff. I think I taste the white wine maybe. I've had this dish before at other places, but I'll say here at Original Joe's is the best I've had. It's a real experience to come here and I'd come again. I hear there's other location in the Bay Area, maybe where the parking isn't such a pain. I'd come here again, just let someone else do the driving.

I saw a "pasta lab" sign and thought - that may or may not be authentic, never heard of that before. When my fettuccini pasta arrived I thought - it definitely looks authentic - heathy yellow pasta color. The first bite was an official confirmation that their pasta is freshly made, the sauce was amazing and the Parmesan was top-notch. This restaurant does not try to cut corners on lower quality inexpensive ingredients. This was one of the best fettuccini plates I had in SF. The only regret? I ate too quickly because I was on a rush. I wish I had more time to savor the flavors. Highly recommended and I will be running (not walking) back.

When the dish landed, I was initially impressed. But after the first bite, it felt a bit like the Wizard of Oz: impressive presentation hiding something less substantial underneath. Their lasagna is a sort of deconstructionist take on the classic dish. The noodles are cooked and layered almost naked between barely any pockets of filling. There were a few tidbits of meat, maybe sauce and no cheese within the layers themselves. The noodles are then baked, cut, plated, and topped with what I'd guess was about a 6 oz ladle of their bolognese, finished with finely pre-grated parmesan. The first bite was overwhelmingly pasta-forward. It took me a moment to understand how the dish had been assembled against my expectations. Once I cut into it and spread everything out, it became clear this wasn't the kind of lasagna I think of when ordering lasagna. It didn't check the familiar boxes - a rich ragù, maybe a creamy béchamel, or the sharp, salty depth of cheeses layered throughout. The dish lacked the complexity and savory comfort I was craving and expecting. Another miss was the homemade flatbread (which I went back and paid cash for, so it wasn't included in the total). Traditional Italian flatbread is a yeast-free bread made with flour, olive oil or lard, salt, and water or milk, then rolled thin and cooked until crisp yet chewy. This version tasted like flour, lard, and water. It wasn't crisp or chewy. As soon as I started chewing, it turned into an unappetizing doughy mass in my mouth. After the first quarter-piece, I didn't eat anymore. As for everything else, I arrived around 7:15 on a Saturday night, and the inside was packed with a small line to the door. The outdoor tables weren't full, but it was summer in San Francisco, more people were jockeying for seats inside than out. But I wasn't too concerned and I got there around 7, so all that is on me. There were a few specials written on a chalkboard, and the cashier was awesome while explaining those. They were incredibly patient. I apologized for holding up the line, and in a very Italian way, they assured me it was my right to make sure I ordered exactly what I wanted. That interaction honestly stood out as one of the better parts of the experience. I grabbed a table just as one opened up, helped myself to water a few times from the station, and my food arrived in about 20 minutes which wasn't bad considering how busy they were. There's been a bit of internal conflict with this review. I usually don't like judging a restaurant based on a single dish, especially a restaurant with so many positive reviews. But I also don't spend as much time in that part of the city anymore, and there are simply too many other places I still want to try. Unfortunately, while there was some good-looking food on other tables, if a restaurant's claim of lasagna as its signature dish doesn't hold up, the first visit just didn't do enough to pull me back for a second chance.
