I've enjoyed trying ten seconds in other cities before so I was so glad they finally opened one in Austin. Both times I ordered the "make your own" option, which allows you to choose what type of meat and soup flavor, and it comes with like a dozen random toppings in cute tiny plates. Then you toss it all in and after 10 seconds you can eat! I love the flavor of the broth here, it's rich but not too heavy. On a cold day, it really warms the soul. SOUP-er tasty!! If you're looking for a flavorful, filling, and healthy hotpot noodle soup, this is it! We came a couple days after opening and it was already super busy. So busy that the ingredients for the soup were already put in the soup instead of allowing you to put them in yourself, which was fine by me. Our party of 3 waited 30-45 minutes, and there was a wait for the food as well. Worth it though. The shared strip mall parking lot was really full so it also took time to find parking. I got the make your own hotpot with green pepper broth and beef slices (~$15). There are lots of veggies and other ingredients included. Portion is big and will definitely satiate you. So glad to have more authentic Asian food options in Austin! I tried the build your own, the sauerkraut fish soup and the calamari and they were all yummy! I do wish the soups had more flavor, esp the sauerkraut fish was a little bit lacking. They did give a lot of fish in the soup and the portion sizes were quite large - the meals are a great bang for your buck! I didn't have to wait when I came, but some people after me did. Most of the other hotpot places in town right now have been kind of a letdown for me, but Ten Seconds was fabulous! The service was friendly and very attentive and the ambiance is a LOT better than when Tokyo Sushi and Ramen occupied the same space. It's got a really warm, cozy vibe with some beautiful accents. Several booths for 4, and a long table in the middle that can accommodate larger groups or be split up for smaller ones. The food was definitely the star though, as it should be. My friends got the chicken rice noodle and mushroom rice noodle soups from the middle of the menu. Both were happy with their meals, but the friend who tried my mala hotpot said it was the best thing on the table. (The items in the middle row of the menu come out pre-cooked with all the ingredients added into the broth, while the menu items on the left come out with steaming hot broth and individual ingredients that you can add to your hotpot as you please.) The Szechuanese mala broth was incredible. It had the same tingly spice that you get at other places like Soupleaf, but the flavor was a lot richer and more complex. I'm guessing it has some beef broth or pork broth as the base. The toppings were also surprisingly good! You get tofu, corn, cooked greens, scallions, a qual egg, nice chewy rice noodles and some other stuff, and at least 5 slices of the really good thinly sliced brisket that melts in your mouth. More toppings can be added for an extra charge. I debated adding on more beef because it was SO yummy, but ended up being full with what I had. Price-wise, it was also definitely cheaper than other similar places, so wins all around! read more

This is a really delicious place. Just be careful with the piping hot bowl that comes out with all the ingredients for you to add. I had my friend's baby in my arms so the server offered to make it for me. Thank you for doing that. You just throw everything they give you into the broth and then eat! I love the green pepper broth. But to get beef, you have to opt for the traditional, which is only 5 pieces of thinly sliced beef. The schezuan was mouth numbing and not for me but my friend enjoys it. We also got the fried bun with sweetened condensed milk. It's listed as an appetizer but we ordered it after the meal. I loved the story of this Yunan noodle dish printed on the wall. It's a small space so be prepared to wait but overall quick and yummy place to get warm with a bowl of noodles. I selected this place for department lunch. They don't do RSVP, which is a annoying. So I had to come about 20 mins early to get a table for over 8 people. The interior was nice, but nothing to take a date to. It clean and has decorations representing their food, which I like. The waiter was very nice and explain everything to me on the menu. She explains the steps on ordering customize noodles and what's the recommendations. She also explains how busy it gets during lunch, and that's why they don't do RSVP. The food came out fast and I like everything that we order. Soup was hot and the ingredient was fresh. I really enjoy the meal there. All my coworker really enjoy experimenting with the food they eat. Overall, nice place to go. The waiter explains to my coworkers on the food and pay attentions to their needs. This is not a big restaurant so might be a wait when you visit during weekends but definitely worth the wait. The service is spot on and very charming décor all around. If you want to check out a unique Chinese cuisine this is the place. It's specialized rice noodles from Yunnan. The noodles are made from rice flour so it's gluten free. It is chewy and silky. It absorbs the flavor so well that you can't stop eating it. But the appetizers are great too. Appetizers: - Popcorn chicken is a must have - good ratio of batter and meat - Brown sugar rice cake - so good you will want to order a second for dessert - Takoyaki - This is technically Japanese apps and it was not the best I've ever had Rice noodles: - Spicy beef tripe rice noodles soup - If you love spicy food, this is it. But considered yourself warn. The mala peppercorn will numb your tongue if you have never had Szechuan dishes before. - Fish fillet with sauerkraut rice noodles soup - Great flavor if you like sauerkraut. The rice noodles and soup truly warm your soul on a cold winter night. I've visited their locations in Houston before and love this place. You can't really find Yunnan rice noodles anywhere else. I love getting their mala soup base, but it honestly felt a little too salty today. I usually get the sliced beef but decided to try the stewed beef today. The stewed beef was a little chewy, wouldn't really recommend it over the sliced beef for an extra 3 dollars. I tried my partner's fish and that was amazing. I'll probably choose fish as my protein next time. Wood ear mushrooms were great and had a perfect balance of vinegar and chili oil. Seating is limited and they did just open, so getting a table could take a while at peak times. read more

Perfect for a cold rainy day (or any day, really). The seats filled up pretty quickly after 6:30 on a Tuesday night. The interior is really cute and explains the history of this specific noodle dish from Yunan, which I grew up eating versions of it in Taiwan. It's very much comfort food for me. They still have a couple items missing from the menu since they just opened recently, but I'm mainly here for the soup noodles. We got a couple appetizers like the smashed cucumber ($7.99) and spicy fried tofu ($8.99). Both were good but the tofu was labeled crunchy and it's not really crunchy it's also the kind of tofu that has a nice chew to it and not like "real tofu" if you know what I mean. Tasty tho! I got the fish maw chicken soup ($20.99) and it was a rich yellow color that was collagen-packed. The flavors are good, a bit on the salty end, but I liked it a lot. The noodles got a good chew & the chicken is nice and tender. It was a generous portion too and I took some to-go. Tried out the newly opened Ten Seconds Yunan Noodle for lunch today after hearing about it from social media! This is a popular chain from China that is starting to open up quite a few locations in the US. They specialize in a Yunan dish called "Crossing the Bridge Noodles", which is a noodle soup meant to be served with the soup and ingredients separately for the customer to assemble mix together themselves. The reasoning for this is to keep the texture of the noodles as fresh as possible, and the name is attributable to a popular story where a wife had to travel quite some distance - including across a bridge - to bring her husband lunch every day. To prevent the noodles from getting soggy, she carried the soup in one container and the noodles and other ingredients in another so that her husband could enjoy her cooking as if he was eating at home. We ordered two crossing the bridge noodles - both with beef slices but with different soup bases - and an order of the fried mantou. One thing to note for probably the first few weeks is since they are newly opened, they told us the everything would come precooked and already in the soup as they are really busy and still figuring things out. So pretty much the same as ordering a regular bowl of noodles, which is a little disappointing but not a big deal. Crossing the Bridge Noodle with Original Pork broth and beef slices: Each order of this dish comes with rice noodles, lettuce, fish tofu, tofu skin, ham, corn, and a quail egg - all topped with some chives. The only thing you choose is your protein and your soup base. The pork broth was both light and yet still savory which I really enjoyed. The rice noodles felt a little overdone, but still paired with the soup quite nicely. The rest of the ingredients were pretty typical of what you'd find in hotpot - nothing special but decent. Overall a pretty good bowl of rice noodles, with a pretty large serving of noodles and lettuce - 7/10. Crossing the Bridge Noodle with with Hot and Sour broth and beef slices: Pretty similar comments to the other noodle dish - only difference was the broth. This broth was much bolder than the pork broth with the sour notes associated with suan cai (pickled mustard greens). Very reminiscent of the suan cai beef slice rice noodle dish from Julie's Noodles - 7/10. Fried Bun with Condensed Milk: Now for what we thought was the best dish of the meal - this was a plate of six fried golden-brown mantou with condensed milk to dip in. The mantou was lightly fried to have a nice crisp on the outside, while the interior remained light and fluffy - somewhat like a beignet or donut. We just got back from New Orleans last weekend, and, as sacrilegious as this might sound - I'd honestly say I preferred this over the beignets we tried there. The condensed milk and mantou pairing is classically Chinese, a little decadent and yet not too heavy on the stomach (depending on how many you eat and how much condensed milk you add of course). Perfect dish to close this meal out with - 9/10. read more

Ive only ordered from ten seconds through uber eats. My partner and i really like the fish maw soup and the pork broth. I think the fish maw soup is the golden chicken broth which i have only tried in a different city and ive been looking for it ever since. Im so happy i can finally get it from ten seconds. I like how the soups came with meat and veggies. And the portions are pretty big. Their tofu is really smooth and has a nice chewy texture. Dont forget to order the brown sugar mochi dessert! Tried this place out after seeing popcorn chicken on the menu. The appetizers were pretty tasty, popcorn chicken, calamari, and brown sugar rice cake. I was expecting the popcorn chicken to be a little different breading, still enjoyed it though. We weren't a huge fan of the ramen or dry noodles as much, but it's not bad. Maybe it's from preference. I like chewier noodle and these noodles weren't as satisfying to eat. We didn't end up finishing our entrees. Although my friend liked her hot pot. I had been a long time customer at Ten Seconds Noodle in Selma for many years, I was elated to hear they were in Austin so went to try today not during busy period but in between lunch and dinner. It was a big mistake. We got seated and water quickly but after that there was nothing. I can understand if there were may tables but there was not. I can understand under that circumstances. The waiter was wiping plates and the two other waitress of staff bth looking down at register instead of seeing if tables needed to take orders or existing customers needed something. Saw a customer waving his hands to get attention. pries are not cheap either and for my monies not worth it. I have no issues paying $25 for a bowl of noodle soup but when I do not get service that is the end of it. There are so many Chinese noodle restaurants in Austin. Many cheaper or equal to this one. Being new in Austin and trying to get customers to come in is not the way to encourage business. I was in Selma just two days ago, one waitress 6 tables and she took care of al the tables. Four wait staff at this restaurant and apparently not enough staff to handle such a small amount of guests. If you have all the time in the world and do not mind waiting forever or having to wave to get service this is the restaurant for you. Have told all my friends to avoid the restaurant and if they really want good service to look at Selma branch or elsewhere. Would have liked to have tasted the food to see how they compare to Selma but guess was not meant to be. There loss. read more
