The shrimp was fine, but the boudin rice was mushy and honestly pretty awful; it didn't taste fresh and had the texture of mashed potatoes instead of rice. For $39, the plate felt overpriced, especially since we waited an hour for our food. Other dishes at the table were also just okay, we all agreed the food was around a 6.5 to 7 out of 10, but for me, it was closer to a 5 out of 10. We spent over $200 total, and it didn't feel worth it compared to other upscale restaurants I've been to. For example, I've had better experiences at places like 51fifteen, which is truly high-end but doesn't overcharge for something as simple as catfish. Customer service was decent (about a 6.5/10). At some point a person that I can only assume was a waitress approaches us at the hostess table asking if we had a reservation which we did and proceeds to state that she couldn't find it... any rate the hostess comes back and takes us to the bar area. At this point the evening sours as we sit at the bar for 36 mins before some one ever approaches us... during this 36 min wait a couple arrives and some how are instantly greeted by the same confused waitress that alleged she couldn't find our reservation... Mind you we were the first ones to arrive for the event. When a clearly overwhelmed waitress finally approaches...it takes forever for her to come back after she would leave our table andd it took maybe 15 mins to actually get our drinks. And the drinks? horrible. I ordered a margarita and just tasted like margarita mix with no liquor for $17. My friends french 75 also garbage. Now how do you mess that up. The next morning, we called the restaurant and asked whether anything had been turned in. We were told that nothing had been found. Using Apple's Find My feature, we were able to determine that the belongings were still at the restaurant. We returned, and only then were the items produced. The explanation we received raised serious concerns and did not match what we had been told earlier. Instead of taking ownership of the situation, responsibility appeared to be shifted elsewhere. What made the experience even worse was the apparent effort to prevent us from speaking directly with a manager who was present. As customers, we expected transparency, accountability, and urgency when dealing with valuable personal property--not conflicting explanations and barriers to getting answers. A restaurant's reputation isn't just built on its food; it's built on trust. When guests entrust their belongings to a business, intentionally or accidentally, they deserve honesty and professionalism. Thankfully, the items were eventually recovered, but only after we located them ourselves. Had we not used Apple's tracking technology, I genuinely question whether they would have been returned. Management should conduct a thorough investigation into how this situation was handled and take responsibility for improving its procedures. No customer should have to track down their own belongings after being told they were never found.
