I drove about 30 minutes to check out Daiq's after seeing some great marketing around it, so I was definitely looking forward to the experience. Unfortunately, the visit ended up being a bit lackluster. When we arrived, there was no greeting at the door and it quickly became clear they were pretty short staffed and interviewing. One bartender appeared to be trying to manage the entire place by himself. To his credit, he was working hard and doing his best to keep up, so no knock on him at all. They were also out of quite a few things. Most of the alcohol options weren't available, including the shots that were advertised and even well tequila, which was surprising for a daiquiri spot. The vibe didn't quite match the promotion either. R&B was advertised, but that wasn't really the atmosphere when we were there. The highlight of the visit was definitely the wings -- they were phenomenal and easily the best part of the experience. The drinks we were able to get were decent as well. Maybe it was just an off day, but overall the experience didn't quite live up to the hype. 2-3 stars. I'm not sure I'd make the 30-minute trip again, but I do hope they get the staffing and inventory situation worked out because the food definitely has potential. read more

Daiq's is a locally owned bar located near the Bellaire area. I came here for a birthday gathering on Saturday night from about to 6:30p-9p. It has a high energy atmosphere with a DJ that played both hip hop and R&B music. As you can see from the photos it was also very red lol. The drinks were good and in my opinion quite strong so no problems there. My favorite part was that they had various board games and card games available to play. Games are a great group activity when out with friends. I wasn't that impressed with the food. Nothing tasted bad but for the prices I was hoping for more flavor. So the question why not take that off the menu if your system does not allow for you to put it in as it is advertised. So much went wrong with my visit here. Daiq's has potential, but it's so far from it right now. I came on a Sunday around Noon with a group of 8. We had a reservation, but the place was empty so it wasn't needed. I think this place opened way before it was ready. It started with the waitress who took 2 people's orders then walked away. We thought it was a mistake but she didn't come back until we called her over and her reply was "oh yeah". Next, they had no salt and pepper. We were literally told they didn't have any (and the omelette a had no taste so seasoning were needed). So we asked for some from the kitchen and we were brought the big type of salt you use for margaritas. It wasn't good with food. Someone ordered the greens and said they were extremely salty. She couldn't eat more than 2 bites. I and several others got the brisket omelette. All the omelets didn't have everything listed on the menu. Mine didn't have any kind of tomatoes or mushrooms but the person next to me had whole Roma tomato's (menu said it would be sun dried tomatoes). The only people who enjoyed their meal were the people who got chicken and waffles. And to top it off, we were given flimsy plastic utensils. There might have been a total of 5 tables with customers. She was great about handling our returned order. Besides that, smoke breaks should not be seen nor smelled. French toast & chicken Chicken & Waffles Seafood Etouffee Viet Egg Rolls These are the meals I ordered. The brunch items were good. The seafood Etouffee was salty & the fish was thin. The French Toast, Waffles, Chicken, and egg rolls were satisfying. Gratuity is added to all checks. I signed mine too quickly because as I type out this review the math is not math-ing. Before the additional trip was added my bill was 70 plus dollars. I was told there was a special promotion for the Chicken & waffles as well as the French Toast & chicken. Judging from my bill they didn't honor that promotion even though Bosy told us about it. Moral of that story, check your bill. This last Saturday, I held my birthday party at Daiqs, and they did NOT disappoint! When I say I had the best time of my life , it was epic ! First, let's start with the location. They are located in a non busy spot but close to the beltway so you don't have to worry about traffic. Parking is amazing, you don't pay to park. There is security at the door, and they check everyone ID , granny's, and all. When inside they greet you which is amazing, the lighting of the place and the decor is very beautiful. I had a session on the back left side by the DJ booth . This would fit about 15 people but thankfully the manager gave the table next to it due to my huge party. Between these two sessions, I had 1 waiter, and her name was Payton. Payton was by far one of the best waiters I have seen at a club , she never missed orders , always on time with food and drinks, and had a beautiful personality. MY HAT GOES OFF TO HER BECAUSE SHE WORKED MY ENTIRE PARTY BY HERSELF !. The food their was okay , I had their boudin balls and their frech fries are small square fries . Their hookah was really good and was not harsh. The Dj played great music the entire night and had everyone turnt up . Before I had my session booked . We had a party of about 10 people. The service was good as well. I recently came for a night birthday event. The DJ was good. It was fun, not crowded, and our waitress was wonderful. We tried this place for Sunday brunch. Parking was no charge & convenient. AMBIANCE: The ambiance was nice. Music was good, but the DJ played music uncomfortably loud for the size of the intimate environment. We couldn't hear each other talking at the table & had to holler. We were served food on real plates, but given packaged to-go plasticware to eat with. 1st time I've experienced that while dining in anywhere. It was challenging to eat on the unbalanced bistro table which tilted every time we tried to use the plastic knife to cut anything. It felt cramped once our food had to be sat down. We were worried that our food or water carafe would fall & spill, which is what happened to the guests at another the table. FOOD: Boudain balls were good. Wings were good & flavorful. French toast was ok. Maybe because it was cold. Pork chops were thin, over fried & shriveled up on the plate. Red beans & rice was good. Mac & Cheese had a very prominent tang flavor & we didn't like or expect macaroni & cheese to taste like vinegar. Greens had a random piece of food in them & had to be replaced. The replacement tasted okay. Cajun shrimp omelette was bland & could've used more flavor. Grits were savory, but very thick & stiff. SERVICE: It took a while to get plates after the appetizers arrived. We ordered non-alcoholic beverages. One was never received & the other one sat on the bar counter with the ice melting for the duration of the visit. The waitress finally picked up the drink from the bar just before coming with the handheld device to collect payment. The waitress just told us an amount to pay with no receipt. The amount was significantly high, so we asked about it. The waitress offered to split the payment on 2 cards if that would help. We requested to see the bill. After review, we discovered an item was charged twice, the to-go item (previously requested to be billed separately to-go) was added to the bill, & nearly a $100 fee was added to the bill with no description. 18% gratuity is automatically added, which we expected because it's mentioned on the menu upon ordering. Gratuity is fine with me, but the service must warrant said gratuity amount. As stated above, the waitress was polite, but it was difficult to get her attention throughout the visit. She was often conversing with a man at the bar & allowed our drinks to water down as they sat on the counter waiting to deliver to our table. The auto gratuity also added up with the bill having extra items & a random fee. Eventually the double billed item was removed along with the random fee. The to-go item was still included in the dine in bill thus collecting the auto 18% gratuity on the dish. I'm not sure if it was miscommunication, distractions, or coincidental, but I would suggest requesting a copy and reviewing your bill before paying just to make sure everything is correct. I would't dine in again, but I would maybe order the wings via grubhub. read more

I wanted soooo bad to give this place a great rating. We went there for a birthday gathering and when we entered it was a whole vibe! People were happy and dancing, the music was jamming, the employees were smiling. As soon as we sat down a waiteess and a bartender was ready for our orders. The side cars had us warm right away which meant they were good! We didn't eat there but decided to order food to go because the food on the tik tok videos look sooo good. I was excited to try it out and be able to post about it. The bartender let us know after about 30 minutes that they ran out of to go plates because they had a big party. That was a first..never seen that happen before. So she said it wouldn't be long since they went to pick up more. We continued to wait and after the 45 minute mark, the bartender said..let me just refund yall..I have no clue what's going on. Mind you that we prepaid the bill and already tipped her $20.00....but we only got the refund for the food back. I believe in second chances, so I will likely try again...but they have to fix that. The plastic utensils weren't really good for cutting my waffle. Our server took our order, disappeared, and didn't check in on us for close to an hour. Which would be understandable if there was a rush but that wasn't the case. Wasn't a fan of the location either. I wouldn't recommend this spot to any of my friends in the future. read more
