I came here from out of town and let me just say I was so happy to stop by here before a night out! This place definitely has all the pregame vibes! There were people watching sports so this is more of a sports bar/hookah lounge type of place but the food and drinks were great! The blacked seafood platter was very flavorful! Every bite was full of deliciousness. I will say I have a slight sensitivity to salt so it felt a littttllllleeeee salty but otherwise it was packed with great flavor! Service was great! It is New Year's day and no restaurants are open but the Locker Room is. I learned about this place through IG food reviewer. The food looked delicious in video. We arrived shortly after opening and was greeted. Although there was open tables for seating, we chose to sit at the bar. To our surprise we arrived during happy Hour which was from 5-8pm. I believe Saturday's Happy Hour starts at 9pm. We ordered a couple $6 HH drinks along with the seafood egg rolls which were so good, 9/10. I also got the seafood platter with mac n cheese....10/10!!! My fish and shrimp were fried to perfection. Crispy and flavorful! The mac n cheese was also fire. As the night went on we continued with HH and vibing to some great music. Stopped by The Locker Room in Houston's 3rd Ward for a brunch pregame before catching the Detroit Lions face off against the Houston Texans, and I have to say--it was the perfect kickoff! This sports-themed bar near TSU has amazing vibes with lively decor, great music, and flat-screen TVs everywhere so you can catch any game you're into. The brunch menu was solid. I ordered the French Toast Breakfast, which came with two perfectly fluffy French toast slices, eggs, and my choice of bacon or sausage for $17. Delicious and satisfying--I devoured it like I hadn't eaten in weeks! My brother-in-law got a mimosa tower, but since they'd run out of towers, they set us up with a bottle of champagne and some OJ so we could make our own. It worked out just fine! We also ordered a hookah for the table--$40 for hookah on weekends, with free coals and $20-25 for refills. The setup was smooth and added to the laid-back vibe of the place. The servers were awesome, too. Things got a little busy, but they still checked in on us whenever they could, making sure we had everything we needed. They've also got a cool outdoor patio area, which adds to the relaxed, social atmosphere. Overall, The Locker Room is a great spot for sports fans or anyone looking for a good time with good food. Honestly! The locker room was so good! Food was a 10/10 and it was so cute in there. Decorated really nice. They had a red scenery and the walls were decorated so cute! The security was nice and our waiter was nice as well. We started with lemon drops and then we got a few French 75's and we were good to go. I ordered the fried fish and grits via Uber Eats for about $26. The images show what I ordered vs what I received. The fish portion was significantly smaller than usual and the grits were runny undercooked. I went to The Locker Room hoping they would remake it... instead they made me wait 23 minutes before refusing to remake it. The chef claimed the fish is 14oz, claimed there's nothing wrong the grits. The chef accused me of consuming half of it because of its size. I told management i ate 2 bits and it was originally a small portion. The Locker refused to rectify the situation. The table next to me while i was waiting sent their fish and grits back to the kitchen. I asked them why and they said the exact same reason. Management denied what I witnessed. I also informed Management that I have ordered this dish many times and have been a loyal customer, and shared my picture as proof. The Locker refused to give me anything to make it right. This is an excellent spot for Sunday Funday. The drinks and food were amazing! I ordered the lemon pepper wings with cheese grits. The wings were superb and the flavor was just right. I also ordered a frozen cocktail, Skittles. The drink featured multiple flavors of Vodka. I truly enjoyed every sip. My only concern was I noticed a lip stick stain on my glass half way through my drink and I wasn't wearing lipstick. I alerted my server and she replaced my drink in a disposable cup. I really wanted to like this place, but our experience was awful from start to finish. We thought The Locker Room was a restaurant, but upon arrival we were asked for IDs just to get in -- not what we expected for dinner. Once seated, the service was extremely slow or nonexistent. Our waitress even told us we needed to "check out before our food came" because she had to leave for another job. That should have been the first red flag. When the bill came, I found out there was a mandatory 20% gratuity, which wasn't mentioned upfront. On top of that, I had already tipped an additional 18% before realizing it. I asked for an itemized receipt, but never really got clarity on the charges. The lamb chops were terrible -- absolutely no seasoning outside of the jerk sauce. I asked if they could just add some seasoning, but the manager offered to cook them over instead. After an hour of waiting, another waitress told me it "takes that long" because I ordered medium well. When they finally brought the plate back, they had shorted me a lamb chop, and the mac and cheese and collard greens were cold, even colder than before. I didn't eat another bite. My son's chicken was okay (he never complains), but on the way home he mentioned his waffles were cold and that he'd ordered pound cake but was given cinnamon cake instead. Overall, the food, service, and experience were all extremely disappointing. Between the poor communication, slow service, and subpar food, this place is definitely not worth the hype. Went in on a Friday for lunch and were the only customers in the place and yet somehow had awful service. We were seated given menus, no napkins or cutlery. The waitress was nice she took the drink and food order. Btw, no lunch menu and the brunch menu which doubles as the lunch menu is ridiculously priced for a weekday lunch. Food, which were appetizers, took forever to come out,, again we a party of 5 were the only ones in the place. When the food finally came out we asked for small plates an d were told they didn't have any but had to go containers, really?! Had to ask for silverware napkins which was to go plastic ware. My friend had to send her drink back to be remade which took forever. The service was just slow and again we were the only customers in the place. They include an automatic 20% gratuity on all checks so better service was expected. As we were closing out our bills we noticed that they they charge more for credit card vs cash which they do not mention anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu like they do the gratuity. We called over asked for the manager to come over to voice this concern who was a young girl. She ignored our request and went out of her way to greet another party that came in and do other things than come speak to us. By this point it was very clear that our business was not of importance. Hear me out..... This place is super small and not quite a dive bar/ restaurant but also not far off. My only complaint is that the place is small so it's always packed. You have to wait for someone to leave to get their table because there is not really a hostess. The food is really good. Every time I try something different and I'm never disappointed. This time I tried the loaded seafood baked potato and it's probably one of the best things I've had here. The crawfish is great, fried shrimp is tasty, and the catfish is delicious. Decided during our break to head-over and thrilled at the vibe on a Sunday night that was going on. Sooo...this month Sis planned girls day out! She asked us if we wanted hood or boujee and we chose to be a little hood and went to the locker room. They have a small parking lot you can pay to park in for 10$ or you can street park for free!! It's not a huge spot, but the vibe is just right. The dj was ! He was jamming! The service is kinda what you would expect.... very slow ...so patience is needed! Please don't come here in a rush! Let me tell you about these frozen side cars that had me sweating...whoooweee! My friends and I stopped in for brunch before the TSU PV game under the impression that the advertised brunch specials would be honored, however that's not quite what happened. We were seated by Havi who was sweet checked on us periodically and handled our food with care but when we asked about the advertised specials that were listed on their website she told us those were not accurate or available even though we pulled it up on our phones to show exactly what we were talking about. She made about 3 trips between our table and the manager (who never came to speak to us herself) before she took the phone over to the manager with the clearly marked ad for that date stating hookahs were $20 and mimosa carafes were $10. After she returned she informed us the manager would only offer the specials for the 1st round of drinks and hookah but after that it would be regular price. The food comes out and everything tastes fine nothing is cold but we ended up canceling the hookah because it was taking too long to come out. The food is good but it seems like we were baited in with false advertising or shady business practices. As soon as the manager agreed to honor the special they had up it was scrubbed from the website by 11:35am, keep in mind we arrived and were seated about 11:15am. I had a reservation for brunch for my birthday. They had no record of it, but agreed to accommodate me and honor my deposit. We sat outside in the heat for about 30-45 minutes. We had to ask for water. They finally seated us... It went from bad to worse. We ordered drinks...and waited. It was busy, so I understand...but the drinks never came. Our food came first. When we asked about the drinks, we were (rudely) told that the drink order had been put in & they were working as fast as they could... The hookah was DISGUSTING, and we ordered 4 for a party of 12. I tasted every single one, and every single flavor was nasty. The food was terrible. It was bland and tasted like air. The shrimp & grits literally tasted like NOTHING. The drinks were mediocre.
