Quad Houston earns a solid 4 stars. The space is nicely done and has a great overall feel. It was a little slow when I visited, but you can tell they're starting to find their groove. The bartenders were easily 5 stars--attentive, engaging, and on point. The playlist and live music were chef's kiss and really elevated the experience. The food I had was okay, nothing to rave about, but it didn't take away from the vibe. Nice place with a great atmosphere, but the service at the bar was very disappointing. We waited a long time just to place a drink order because the bar was clearly understaffed. The manager (wearing white shoes) kept explaining it as a "soft opening," but this isn't a new establishment--it's been here for years. And on Super Bowl Sunday, staffing should absolutely be better planned. What made it worse was the lack of support or urgency--rather than helping, we were met with uncomfortable, dismissive looks. Apparently, Quad Houston has been open for some time, but I just recently learned about it. Their space is very large. It has a huge patio and indoor seating, except I don't think their HVAC works because it was extremely warm when I visited, and there was a box fan inside the restroom. Unfortunately, there was only one waitress for all the parties there on a Saturday. She handled it very well, but I could only imagine how stressful it was to tend to all of the tables when you're the only one working the floor. I ordered a mimosa tower, which came with 16 glasses for $25. An unbeatable deal. The two bottles of Prosecco also came out with a sparkler-style bottle sign, which made it feel extra celebratory. You pour the Prosecco yourself into a flight of mimosa glasses. The flavors weren't labeled, but they tasted like peach, pineapple, and strawberry. The first tower they brought out only held eight glasses, and it was leaning, which made it a little tricky to pour. They later brought out the remaining eight glasses separately, so it seems like the towers vary by table. I also ordered the wing special with fries, which was $14. The honey lemon pepper wings were super bready, but the taste was there and they were hot and fresh. The fries were your traditional crinkle cut fries, which were nicely seasoned. I did have to ask for certain things like extra water, napkins and condiments. Again, it was just the waitress herself, so I gave her some grace there. One thing that did stand out to me is that they have a Tuesday wing special. When I asked what the wing special was, it wasn't clearly listed on the menu. It turns out it's $2 per full wing, totaling $12. For the weekend wing special, it cost $14 for six wings and fries. Another thing worth mentioning is that when I closed out my tab, I asked if automatic gratuity had been included. I was told it hadn't. But when I checked my receipt later, it had been added after all. This is something to look out for. The DJ was pretty good and played a lot of line dance music. Around 8 PM, the crowd started to shift from a 25-and-up group to an older (40s, 50 and up) crowd, which is perfectly fine. The owner, or who I assumed was the owner, came around to our table. It was a party of ten, and he checked in to make sure everything was OK. As a first-timer, this is somewhere I could see myself returning, especially for Happy Hour. Be aware it is self-parking. It was $10 to park, but there is surrounding free street parking that was easier to find on a Saturday. I can't imagine that would be the case on a Sunday when there are a lot of other businesses along the Almeda corridor with Sunday Funday events going on. read more

I didn't order food but did order one drink. The drink was pure liquor. The taste wasn't all that great but it did have me courageous enough to sing karaoke. After drinking it, I knew I didn't need another one. Shout out to the bartender, because I was one and done!! I actually had a nice time. The patrons were cool, the music was spot on, and it was an overall good spot for people in my age group (35+). I'd go back for karaoke night. read more

This was my second time at quad. The first time I didn't eat just went for a social event. The ambience was nice and it had potential, and the happy hour menu is good that's why I decided to come back. This visit I actually came with friends to eat. Let me just say service was horrible! Our waitress was swamped with another party and instead of giving us another waitress one of the busers came to " help her out" took our order. But only put two out of three orders in. By time, the third order came in the other two were done with their meal. The waitress never came to check on us, and when she noticed that my order was not in, she promised to either give me a free drink or a free dessert. I chose the dessert, and it never came. We waited 20 extra minutes after we closed out waiting for my dessert. The stuffed chicken breast was really good! No complaints there. But the service would make me not return again, which is unfortunate. And then they had the audacity to add automatic 20% gratuity!!!! the service was really terrible! While visiting Houston last month, I came here with some friends for Super Bowl Sunday. Although the music was good, I hated that music was played during every commercial break of the game. I love Super Bowl ads so that was disappointing, but I can appreciate that for that occasion, that was the choice they thought was best for their patrons. Considering that this was for a special event, many of the tables were reserved but we managed to get seats at the bar by getting there early. The drinks were good, but we quickly found that certain types of cocktails, many at the bar couldn't do, specifically Manhattans. The cocktails that we did get were good though. For food I got the lemon pepper/buffalo/parmesan garlic wings and they had a very, very unique flavor. I appreciate the ambition of Quad to mix all of those flavors together in one sauce, but it was a bit extreme. Not bad, just extreme. That's the best word I have to describe it. lol They were well prepared though. The vibe of this place was cool and it makes for a nice lounge. read more

Overall, the food at this restaurant was not good. The bacon was old, and the batter on the chicken easily falls off before taking the first bite. I also had two different types of chicken on my plate, however the French toast was good! The service was super slow, we had a very large reservation of about 50 people with only one waiter. The ambience and overall vibe of this establishment is great. There are large TVs, a dance floor and a DJ booth. This is a good place to host large gatherings if there are more waiters available. read more

Only reason to visit this place was the live music by Marium Echo. The service was terrible! We were seated by the host of the event at a table and the waitress passed by our table 15x (30 min). We finally stopped Hed and he redone was no one was suppose to be seated at the table. I asked if she had checked with the host and she said no. I asked why would she pass by us with our acknowledging that we're here. Her response was I didn't see y'all. There were tables next to us on both sides and directly in front of us so she definitely saw us. She purposely ignored us assuming we sat there without reservation. Nice spot for Sunday funday. It's located on the very popular street of Almeda so parking can be challenging. There's street parking & paid lot behind the building. I didn't eat @ the restaurant so I don't know how the food was. On one side is the restaurant. There's a bar with a small dance floor & there's an area for smoking cigars. The weather was nice so I headed to the patio where there was plenty of seating. Service was good. I didn't get a mixed drink but my date ordered a bucket of Shiner Bock because they didn't have Heineken. The music was good & overall I like the vibe of this place. Was visiting for the Bears Game a few weeks ago. And paid $35 for entry. But when we got inside and went to sit down, we were told if we want to sit down we had to spend at least $200 on food!! I felt that that should've been disclosed before I paid money to enter this establishment because I wouldn't have never supported this place. I am disabled and can not stand for long. So I had to leave. They also had a patio that doesn't have handicap access. No way for a wheelchair or a walker to enter. This owner and his establishment sucks!! read more

My husband and I attended this establishment 8/1/24 to celebrate our Anniversary and my birthday. We were hoping to have a great evening enjoying good food and entertainment. The night started off really good. Listening to people sing karaoke. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. When the food came out my husband received his complete order which was the Vegan Burger and I had ordered the grilled salmon, with a side of mash potatoes and mixed vegetables. When I received my plate it was only the salmon and mixed vegetables (which tasted like they were the frozen melody vegetables that came from Sam's Club, or Costco). I had hoped for some fresh vegetables ...SMH...When I had asked for my mashed potatoes, I was advised they would be coming out shortly. Well, after I had stated eating my food and realized I had eaten 1/2 of it and my mashed potatoes still had not arrived. I asked the waitress for an update on my mashed potatoes and she went to go check. By this time I had stopped eating my meal because I wanted my mashed. After waiting nearly 10 minutes my husband had to find our waitress. To let her know I still have not received my mashed potatoes. So she had to leave again to go check the kitchen to find out what the hold up was. Approximately five minutes after she had left from our table, the cook brought my mashed potatoes out. But by this time, I was no longer hungry and the food that I had remaining on my plate had gotten cold. Speeding fast-forward, I had expressed feelings to the both the waitress, and the Cook, of how disappointed I was with the service. The then offered to take my food back to the kitchen to re-warm it, which I was not comfortable with. Once I expressed I was not comfortable with that option and for them just to please take the plate. The cook advised he would like to offer me a peach cobbler for compensation. Again I had expressed I was not interested in any more food at this point due to my appetite was gone. So my husband and I were ready for the check. When the waitress came back to the table, she advised us that her manager took off several items from our tab, which was the mashed potatoes and 50% of my meal because I had eaten 50% of my food (I was hungry and advised the mashed potatoes were coming shortly), and they also took off the cost for one of the drinks that I had ordered. Mind you, the second drink order was supposed to be a remake because the first drink did not taste good. We were unaware that we were being charged for a second drink, due to I had only taken a couple of sips from the first drink...SMH... So I requested to speak with a manager. A first manager came to toward our table and she stood right to the left of me and spoke only to the waitress not to me. The waitress came back to me and stated that there's nothing else that they can do. I expressed concerned to the waitress of disappointment that the manager who initially came to the table did not speak with me, so she went to go get a different manager. Finally, when the second manager arrived to the table. I got an opportunity to share with her my concerns. She advised because they offered me different options and I declined them, and I had eaten 50% of the food that was on my. They were not going to offer any other compensation, other than which was previously stated. I let that manager know, in the future if they cannot complete an order, they should not be sending orders to the table. I let her know the service was not professional and I would not be back to their establishment because of the poor service that they give. read more
