Cool little daiquiri spot with a fun dive bar feel. They have a small parking lot next door and I managed to get a spot in there no issues. They have food and I tried the boudin balls which were delicious! It was quite busy in there and they only had 2 bartenders so service can take a while. All in all I would Deff go back again.

    Rotating Tap Cali Green IPA

Nut allergy warning: be careful of almond liqueurs. I kept to beer to be cautious. Indoor is large and outdoor has a few tables. Parking is street or a small lot with about 20 spots. Fun little dive bar. Two pool tables, air hockey, a photo booth, and some different seating. Large tater tots took about 20 minutes to come out, so food will be a little while if you order any. The tots were decently crispy and definitely sharable. Shrimp was OK. Drinks are fast if there's no line. Very reasonable drink prices ($6-9 for a 20oz goblet, $12-15 for frozens), and eight frozen cocktail options are great. The rotating IPA was the Brash Cali Green while I was there. After tax and tip I paid about $40 for three goblets and large tots. I would recommend they make bathrooms gender neutral or make it clearer if they are... Surprising line for male restrooms in the evening. Obviously, depends on the crowd. Great for a date, hanging out with friends, or anything else.

    Banana Hammock

The Banana Hammock was absolutely delicious. Was cautioned they could only make one more, I kept at the opportunity and it was worth it. The food was mostly great. The shrimp with hush puppies and tater tots was very good and beautifully seasoned. The eggroll was nothing special in a good way, it satisfied exactly the craving I had for it. Although the bread and trimmings on my PoBoy were lovely, the debris itself, while a beautifully rich texture, was very underseasoned. Would I go back, though? Absolutely.

Food...I was highly disappointed by my meal...the fried shrimp batter fell apart and was not seasoned. The drinks were not good but looks pretty. Service was ok, very much a dive bar. Ambiance was dirty needs cleaning. Not returning.

I enjoyed my first visit to this daiquiri drive! They have pool inside you could play, a nice amount of seats as well, and a bar area of course. The service was pretty good, my bartender was attentive and she was friendly. They have lots of different drink options here, I didn't know what to choose! Our food was pretty good, no complaints there. I noticed there was all types of people here, I mean alllll types. It was pretty cool to see quirky, rockstar, hipster, and the too cool crews all in the same place. There is outdoor seating available!

Fried and blackened chicken strips with tots, fries and hush puppies $10.68 whichever basket. Crazy cheap

Voodooo is a real laid back bar, food is really really good and super cheap. A must try is hush puppies and chicken strip baskets. Fried and blackened are great giant strips and very juicy. Easily beat strips I've ever had. Also play good music have pool tables and a ski ball table. Gets busier around 10:00 - 11:00

Only one size of daiquiri: Boo! At least it takes great.

We stopped by last Friday since the Cidercade had a line that was not even worth waiting on. We rolled in around 9:30 and it was decently crowded, but not too bad. The wait on drinks however was unacceptable. So slow. When I tried to get the larger size for the daiquiri they told me they only do one size (the small one). I asked about the bigger cup next to the one he had grabbed. He informed me that it was only for mixed drinks. Seems like a lost revenue opportunity and also a way to keep their line shorter. The daiquiri itself was pretty tasty, but I'm pretty sure it was a lack of alcohol and a good amount of sugar based drink. Will I be back? Possibly for one drink for the night if I'm on that side of town. Not making a special trip across town for it. I did like White Rhino across the street a lot better.

Low key bar with good eats. Patio seating, billiards, TVs, drinks, and food. What more could you need? Food / Drinks They have an assortment of drinks, but clearly their specialty is in the name. They have a load of different mixes of their base offerings including shots to add. We had the Tamarindo Breakfast and Rogue Wave. Both were delicious and refreshing on a hot night. We also tried their grilled chicken po boy and the Cluck Yeah chicken sandwich made Nashville Hot. Both hit the spot! Service There was a line to the bar, but it moved fast. We placed our order within 10 minutes of arrival and had our drinks in hand to boot! Pricing This is always in the eye of the beholder, but IMO the prices are very reasonable for what you receive. Portions were decent, drink sizes as well! Overall This place is definitely worth a visit and is right across the street from another joint that didn't live up to what we had hoped to find. If you are looking for some nice frozen cocktails and some good grub, give it a go!

    Shrimp basket
    Lorece S.

You wouldn't normally expect to get good food at a dive bar, but let me tell you: Their baskets rival any place in town. Where else can you get a combo a crinkle fries, tater tots, AND hush puppies fried to PERFECTION! I mean seriously. Can't go wrong with the chicken strips or the shrimp. Only $12. It always tastes hot and fresh. Perfect for late night bites. The daiquiris are ok and of course the atmosphere is what it is. But I come for the baskets.

    chicken tender basket
    Daysi L.

Delicious Food and delicious drinks. I got one of the $11 daiquiris and man that shit was good. Super fresh and not too sugary. I didn't even taste the alcohol but it hit me halfway through. Plus it comes with a cool souvenir cup. I tried my friends "fresh juice" that was like $13, but I hated it. The chicken basket was amazing! great portions of everything. Big ass chicken tenders, and enough fries and hush puppies for 3 hungry girls. It's a chill place I would only come here to drink and eat with friends. They have pool and air hockey but you have to pay to play both and they stay pretty busy. Also, i hate that there is only one bathroom. Don't get the po boys, they're more expensive and not nearly as much food.

Its "Dark Tiki" ambience is a chill, weird vibe (in a good way), with intriguing artwork everywhere you look, and the fresh ingredients put the cocktail program up there with Lei Low and Pineapple Parlor. We first had the Saturn (with non-alcoholic gin) and the Puka Punch, and then the Kobra's Fang and the Bay Breeze (made with non-alcholic vodka). Both were just SO delicious! If you're a tikiphile, make this a regular location for your nights out. The only recommendation I could make to management is that our table needed a wipe down (there was a light dusting of something grainy on the surface), and the menus were a bit sticky, but the experience was so wonderful I consider that a small inconvenience and nothing worth missing out on this fun venue for! The staff is really nice and the decor is extravagantly kitschy reminding me of the waiting room in the Beetlejuice movie. Which makes sense given the headshrinker in that movie. Being a tiki bar, there's a vast selection of drinks ranging from $18-42 depending on the size. They gave us a complimentary entry drink and I think there was a two drink minimum. I had a Bay Breeze and a Bitter Bird. Tasted the Silver Surfer. All were okay, but I haven't been impressed by too many sweet cocktails.

The team behind the popular restaurant Nobie's opened up this tiki inspired restaurant. Tiki bars happen to be one of my favorite varieties of bars so I was more than excited to finally check it off my list. I had recently seen them on the Food Network as well. They share a lot with another popular dining spot so parking can be a little difficult in their lot. You can find street parking or park across the street in an overflow lot. Customer service was great from start to finish. We had just ate next door and our intentions were to come in here just for cocktails, but I couldn't leave without trying some of the popular items. I wanted the most tropical drink I could find on the menu so I started off with the Blue Hawaiian. I saw fire on the description so my extra self needed to have it. I'm a big rum guy so this drink was right up my alley and very boozy with two types of rum. It was very coconut forward with pineapple being the secondary flavor. One was enough for me to feel just right. Since we had just ate, we decided to share the World Famous Cheeseburger. This was a great burger. I don't know if they were going for the smash effect, but it had smash burger characteristics. It had all my favorite things that are musts on a burger like American cheese and red onions. It also had a very nice chili aioli that added great flavor to the burger. I came on another stop for a drink visit shortly after and tried the pork dumplings and popcorn chicken. Cocktails arrive balanced and deliberate, built by hands that understand restraint as much as flair. Nothing shouts. Nothing apologizes. The staff moves easily, quick with wit and generous with attention, treating regulars and first-timers as if both had already earned their place. The decor tells its own quiet rebellion. Mismatched, layered, worn just enough to feel lived in, it carries the sense that stories have been told here and will be told again. You can even see the owner there working and contributing to the vibes. Their cocktails are about $16 so very standard pricing and the chocolates come with a drink. The drinks were tasty, even the Old Fashioned (probably the best one I've ever had). Plus they close even later than described with "no official close time". As our server described, "they close when the vibes die off ... typically around 1AM". So I'll definitely be back and you should definitely check them out. It's also close by to Houston high society, neighbors, and eighth row flint which are all amazing bars with perks of their own so it would be great for even a bar hopping date night.
