I came to Doves with a group and had a mixed experience. The cornbread was a standout. We all loved it. My lychee blush was also pretty good, and most of my party enjoyed their food (the oxtail ramen and calamari were solid). I had the salmon over mashed potatoes. It was good, but I did not like that substitutions were not allowed. I would have preferred a vegetable instead. Service is where things fell off. We waited about 40 minutes for food, and only half of our table was served at first. It also took a long time to get the bill, and we had to ask multiple times while holding our to-go boxes. I also didn't like they didn't mention anything about the happy hour to us and seemed confused when we mentioned it to them. & what actually was on happy hour was very unclear. The space is very dark, and while I understand the vibe, it felt a bit too dim. They do offer hookah, if that is your thing. I did appreciate the lavender scented warm towels at the end. That was a nice touch. Overall, it had some highlights, but I would not go back.

Opelousas Pasta $40. Great but very small portion.

I attended a birthday dinner here this past weekend. Parking is atrocious. I called ahead to ask about valet parking and was told it would be $15. When we arrived the Valet told us they increased the price to $20. We found another place to park. Inside the atmosphere was beautiful, we were seated promptly and our waiter was sweet. The food ranges from a minimum of $40 and up. I ordered the Opelousas pasta and it was good, portion was a bit small, but overall good. Drinks start at $12 and up. They include a gratuity on your bill if you get a table, no matter how many people. Only complaint is that the music is played so LOUD every time they announce someone's birthday, anniversary or special event. You literally have to yell to talk to anyone in those moments. We had about 8 loud moments over the course of our dining experience. Overall an 8 out of 10.

I had an amazing time at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the live music really set the perfect mood for the evening. The bathrooms were spotless and elegantly designed, adding to the overall ambiance. Speaking of which, the atmosphere was just right... elegant yet relaxed. Service was good and the drinks were pretty good as well. Everything arrived quickly, fresh and well plated and prepared. While it is a bit on the pricier side, I definitely think the quality and experience make it worth the cost. It was a slower night, with only a few couples around, so the vibe felt intimate and exclusive. I recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great meal in a beautiful setting with good service!

The ambiance was nice and the service was great. Destiny was our server and was very friendly, she checked on us often and was very attentive. You got a good amount of food for the price. Lastly the food and drinks were delicious. I definitely recommend coming here.

The $3 lychee martinis on happy hour were a winner for me. I also had the pagoda shrimp on happy hour, and while they were tasty, I don't think I'd order them outside of happy hour. My friend also had an appetizer that she felt meh about. For the price of the food, you can definitely get better quality elsewhere. The staff was very nice and attentive however!

Stopped here for my friend's birthday, and everything was amazing. This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous on the inside, and the owner Adrian is very attentive. The food was well seasoned, and we didn't have to wait long for it. Add this to your list!

A Vibe, A Bite, and a Whole Lot of Flavor Booked a last-minute anniversary dinner at Dove's before heading to a concert nearby, and let me tell you -- it did not disappoint. Shoutout to their staff for squeezing us in because this spot is that girl when it comes to vibes and flavor. Let's start with the Etouffee Wonchos: sautéed shrimp and crawfish tails, creamy chipotle sauce, mozzarella, smoked gouda, and crispy wonton chips. It was giving bold, creamy, and crunchy, everything I didn't know I needed in one bite. And bonus: not messy! We demolished it. I ordered the gem wedge salad, which was cute... but came missing the croutons. No hard feelings though -- probably a sign I didn't need the extra carbs since I fully committed to the lobster mac & cheese for my main. Creamy, rich, and indulgent, a total comfort dish done right. My husband went with the orange chicken, and y'all... the crisp on that chicken was perfection. Light, airy, almost like it was air-fried. Flavorful without being heavy. He ate in silence, always a good sign. Major love to our server Nina she was such a sweetheart! Friendly, warm, and gave genuine recs (which I always appreciate). Servers like her make the experience even better. If you go, ask for Nina! Docking one star because listen... if we're calling this fine dining, I need cloth napkins and silverware switched between courses. That's the standard. But even with that tiny detail, I loved the R&B playlist, the laid-back lounge atmosphere, and the entire experience.

A few girlfriends of mine came into town during the week. They chose Doves as a belated birthday celebration for me. Location was easy to find. Street parking can be a bit hard to find, so I opted to do the valet parking for $15. It was basically just a small parking lot where you park yourself, but just pay and leave your keys with the attendant. It was a short walk to the front of the building to get into the restaurant, so that was nice. Food wise we chose to start with the shrimp appetizer and we all liked it. Good flavor and good shrimp size. For entrees, I did the salmon. It was a little on the dry side but flavors were good. My friends did the lamb chops, sea bass, and the orange chicken. The lamb chops were great, the sea bass was some of the best I've had, and the orange chicken looked fantastic. For drinks, I did an espresso martini and the Christa Dior which were both great. My friends did some sort of mocktail and they both loved it. The decor is really cute, music is just right, and the service was amazing. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The other female employees were also just as friendly/sweet. Would definitely come back to try a few other items and their brunch menu looks really good. They surprised us at the end with a complimentary slice of bday cake and a bday song which I appreciated. The cake was actually really good and I would order it next time.

I dined here for a friend's birthday dinner. The parking was inconvenient. There is street parking, but not close or safe to park and walk. Valet is $15 and they ask for a tip when paying upon leaving. It is hard to leave the parking lot, because the cars that cannot fit in the small parking lot are parallel parked on both sides of the street making it a one way street when leaving. The restaurant is small, two levels, and patio dining. The restrooms are unisex and there is a male bathroom attendant. He provides you soap and a paper towel for drying your hands. There are mints, gum, and mouthwash for use. I am not sure if it is complimentary or a charge. There is a jar for tips. The standard restroom stalls are small. Your knees touch the door when sitting. The restaurant decor is nice and chic with warm lighting throughout. The stairs to get to the second floor is slippery. There is no elevator for handicapped patrons dining on the second floor. Once on the second level there is a DJ who was playing good music that night. The upstairs is narrow and gives an intimate dining feel. There also was a costumed dancer on a platform downstairs that night. My friend had reservations for 8:45pm on a Saturday. We waited for an hour before being seated. We had to continue to ask for an update on our table at the hostess stand. They kept saying they were waiting for a large party to leave. Therefore, I am not sure if there is a dining time limit of 2hrs here. People kept coming in who did not appear to have reservations and were being seated before us. Once seated our waitress was friendly and efficient. Her name was Unique. We ordered various dishes for the table gumbo, general Wilson's wings, étouffée wonchos, orange chicken, hoisin smokehouse ribs, and Brussel sprouts. The gumbo in some of the women's opinion was watery and lacking flavor. The orange chicken batter was too thick. The Brussel sprouts were dry and could use more sauce. The étouffée wonchos were lacking flavor. The best dishes were the wings and the ribs. The dishes were pricey especially entrees. Overall taste of the food, price, parking, restroom, and dining experience I rate this restaurant a 3. I personally would not go back.

I went with my friend to have dinner before our play at the Ensemble Theatre and we were very impressed. The service was exceptional! The food was flavorful and came out fast and the ambiance was 10/10. I definitely will be back.

I'm only giving it a 3 cause our waitress was really good. To start the parking is terrible. $15 for them to park you on the street and $30 to park you in the lot. The line was long for parking and very unorganized. I checked in and was supposed to get a text for parking and did not. There was issues with my seating and had to get a manager. I was not happy. They was not ready for their crowd, The food was good but over priced. The place is beautiful and looks upscale until the bottle girls come out for your birthday to ratchet music . It was confusing cause after that it goes back to being upscale until the next birthday which is every 10 minutes. I ordered peach cobbler to go and it was a total rip off! It was a hot pocket with fruit in it. The smallest ever and no icecream to go even though it comes with it. My bill for only me was $165 and not worth the hype. I hate this for them. I wanted more

***New Restaurant alert*** Perfect for date night or girls night. It's downtown so we already know the parking situation.. 15 to valet or Uber. When you walk in you are greeted by the sweetest smiling faces and the lead you behind the curtain. Behind the curtain is the cutest ambiance coupled up with a dj. We made reservations and were sat right away. We ordered the gulf coast and the side car because that's my drank. The side car was good..but I loved the gulf coast so I changed it up. The shrimp appetizer was awesome! I had the salmon and he had the thick pork chop. Both were very good. The mac was sooo good. The Brussels were a little too crispy tho. That's my only complaint. Our waitress name was Bolboa I think..or aka Lashon. She was great. It is a BO restaurant with an Asian fusion twist. Loved the concept and will be back soon..like actually...really soon.

First, the vibe. It is warm, stylish, and very Montrose in the best way. It feels elevated but still relaxed enough to just sit, talk, and enjoy your time without feeling rushed. We came during happy hour and it was such a great deal. I ordered the Sweet Like Peach Tree, which was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with the peach and ginger. My husband got the Frozen Paloma and it was just as good, super smooth with the right citrus bite. We also shared the churros and they were honestly a must order. Warm, crispy, and paired with Nutella and caramel. What really made the experience stand out though was our bartender, Manny. He was incredibly welcoming from the moment we sat down, had such a great personality, and made the whole experience feel personal. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and that kind of service is hard to find. He also told us about their upcoming two year anniversary party on May 3rd with rotating live DJs, which sounds like it will be such a fun time. We will definitely be back. Considering the recent shutter of other places (#2) within the hospitality umbrella, it's not too big of a surprise that Wooster's would also be in the crosshairs. The space was always a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, which combined with its dedicated parking lot made this an easy drinking outlet for all kinds of occasions. The intimate indoor space was lovely and well ventilated, and it felt like there wasn't ever a moment where the bar wasn't slammed. The outdoor space was much of the same, with lots of tables and chairs, and even the trendy swing chairs facing the city. The only thing that was a little bit of a liability were those open flame heaters; it would only take on person to accidentally walk into one or trip onto it. For libations, the drinks were well priced, well made, and always potent. I appreciated the aesthetics, as well as the bartenders who made them. The only part that wasn't exciting was the limited food menu, which did its part as munchies for the drink heavy crowd, but was mediocre otherwise. Each glass feels considered, as though the bartender paused just long enough to ask what kind of night you were hoping to have, then answered without speaking. The staff moves easily, quick with wit and generous with attention, treating regulars and first-timers as if both had already earned their place. The decor tells its own quiet rebellion. It looks like the drink that I ordered is also no longer on the menu. The bar prides itself on having a rotating meal changing menu so I think that's a lot of fun when it comes to trying new drinks and new combinations and it truly shows the artistry of the bartender. There was the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior was more of a dimmer, elegant and darker tone. I can see it being pretty classic if you were to go at night time. The bar set up was really beautiful and they had different 2 to 4 seating wooden tables. Overall, the inside would probably only fit around 20 people. I was very sad because we couldn't sit outside. The day before it had rained so every outdoor seating was wet. But I was told that they had a beautiful seating outside with a garden and a pool. Service was good. The bartender came out of the bar to take orders, give menus and give you the check. I will say that it got really busy at the end and it took a while to get our check. There's only one or two bartenders working at one time so if there's multiple people with different drinks that are ordered, it will take a little bit longer. There is both valet parking and also street parking in the neighborhood nearby.

Drinks (3/5): Bar No. 3 is known for its cocktails so I focused on the cocktail list. The list isn't large but it features a nice selection. Like the food, you're going to pay a premium. For Bar No. 3 to be the only hotel bar on Houstonia's top 50 is a feat in itself.
