I love this place, but I have seen spiderwebs on the windows and the bathroom had a bug. 1 star- service- yes! Absolutely! This is a little hole in the wall diner. The waitresses will know you by name after just a couple of visits. Shout out to Tina who it excellent. The owner Nancy will even come out and chat if she is there. 1star- efficiency- service is quick and expedient. Everything is made to order, but doesn't take forever. They even serve the fish they catch. Check out the specials to see if they have any fresh fish. It's so amazing when they do. 1star- the food- 10 stars! Today I had open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and chicken gravy. I usually get the fish. Anyone can get the senior meal. It's a slightly smaller portion, but still all I can eat. I had big pieces of both white and dark meat and it tasted like it straight off of a Thanksgiving turkey. The mashed potatoes are real potatoes, so you may get a lump or two, but add the chicken gravy and it's delicious! They even toasted and buttered the bread before adding the turkey and gravy. Little touches like that matter. 1star- ambiance- Yes. It's a diner. There is plenty of seating - booths or tables. Seating is spaced well. It's a John Wayne Western theme. It's wheelchair accessible and there are highchairs for babies. So my heart wants to say 5 stars, but reality says 4. I still highly recommend for some great home cooked comfort food.

There were 9 people working in the kitchen alone, and the place was packed. Despite that, we had swift and super friendly service. The place was also very clean and I'm sure that they had to remodeled since 1966 because even though it was vintage, the vinyl and such looked new. They had fried cauliflower and fried mushrooms. Oh my! I asked our waitress which was better, and she said she loved the cauliflower. She offered to have it dipped in buffalo sauce because that's how she loves it. Well absolutely! She added ranch for good measure, and let me tell you. It was homemade and the cauliflower was spicy and brilliant. It was the perfect start to my meal. It was also huge, so I had to take it home. Oooo! Midnight snack. I'm going to the kitchen right after I finish writing. I ordered a gyro with french fries and it was perfectly seasoned and came with onions, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce. It arrived wrapped in foil like a big burrito. I was full of cauliflower and not really in the mood for fries, but they were light and delicious. I didn't eat them all, but I ate a lot more than I thought I would. Dad got the blueberry pancakes with sausage, Amy got hash browns, fried eggs and turkey sausage links, and Estelle got a Philly beef and Swiss with French fries. She said the onions and peppers were on the bottom. She said it was good, but Big John's was better. We were SO FULL. They give really big portions. In fact, when we got to Dad's, Amy, Dad and I all fell asleep in our respective chairs and slept about 2 hours. Now that's some carb loading food coma! Would I go back again? Heck yeah. I just told my son about the place.

The menu is really good it's full it offers lots of different choices for people of all ages. I got the bacon cheeseburger with french fries and a shake. The shake was absolutely delicious I could go back for just that. It was super thick not overly sweet. It came in a cool metal cup with an actual metal spoon I mean who even gives metal spoon these days. The bacon cheeseburger had crispy edges crispy bacon a fresh tomato and a soft pillowy bun. French fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I also had some fried pickles with ranch dressing. The fried pickles were nice because the batter was really thin often times the batter's so thick you can't even taste the pickle this was not the case. I was absolutely thrilled with all of my food it was tasty, it was fresh and hot, the place was clean, and the service was friendly I would go back any day and I would recommend them to anyone.

I'm sure I looked surprised to them when I said "No?" Because they let us during the last clean up and we got their parking lot and the rest of their property, they said that's what she said "NO" I just turned and walked out, My husband stayed behind to find out what the problem was and explained again we needed a couple of hours, she said oh I thought you wanted to park overnight, this was at 10:00 am! She said You can park there, but they had already been rude to me and since we have permission from MDOT to park on the side of the street during Adopt-A-Highway we just parked in front of the lot! When we were about 3/4 of the way done the police showed up and checked out the truck and left, coincidence? All she was worried about was losing a parking spot for an event they have coming up, instead they definitely lost our business and that of anyone we know and earned a 1 star review in the process, personally I will eat at a place that cares more about the environment than $40

Amy and I ordered full sandwiches and swapped halves. It was a brilliant idea! The fresh crispy vegan club complimented the Reuben beautifully. Amy ordered brussel sprouts and I ate a bunch. I ordered fries and ate them all. Those brussel sprouts though- with the char and balsamic. Oh that was decadent. It had little shavings of vegan parmasean. So amazing. I have to talk about Nikki.
