Great people, clean, friendly, best pie in the world! We are locals and eat here all the time!

Had lunch here and was not impressed. The place was crowded with tables, barely room to walk. They brought me coffee in a chipped mug and when I added creamer to it it curdled. I ordered scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, toast and sausage gravy. The portion size was very small and the food was luke warm. The bacon was hard and tough and I couldn't eat most of it. The toast had globs of butter on it and was only barely toasted. I don't think I'll be back. read more

The banana cream pie is the BEST banana cream pie I have EVER eaten!!! Service was small-town friendly, but not overly invested in a stranger such as I. It was clean and outdated, but not uncomfortable so. The restroom, however, was a place I would not return except out of desperation. I had breakfast (and took the pie to go), which was standard - good, but not remarkable, and nothing at all was seasoned with salt or pepper. I was disappointed in the selection of cheese for my mushroom omelet. I will likely return as the location is convenient in my work travels a few times a month, but I'll avoid omelets, know to salt and pepper my food, and I will always order pie. read more

Potato corn chowder was lukewarm; would have been better if hot. Hubs and I shared the pot roast sandwich which was underwhelming. One medium-thick slice of meat with cheese & grilled onions. No gravy or au jus . Up charge for a few onion rings was $6 for basic fried-from-frozen. Not impressed. read more

I recently moved to the area and have been here numerous times. Every single time I've tried something different and have yet to eat something I didn't like. Breakfast is great, especially the country ham and scrambled eggs. They make a great lemon pepper chicken for lunch. The best thing is the pie...it's to die for! This was my 3rd time being here and my 2 times experience was a but this time I give it a 1 start because my burger was over cooked but the service gets a but everything else gets a . But we all give 2nd chances so I would recommend 1 star here read more

I love this place! My family and I live just down the road and come here quite often. Same for me and my boyfriend. Food is always very good, staff is wonderful, and the sense of community is lovely. I have never left unsatisfied. I recommend the dough balls, philly pita, and coconut cream pie. read more

Let me start off by saying, I'm a great big ole fat guy that loves good food. This place has the BEST fried/broasted chicken I've ever had. This is the food of the gods. When God told Adam, "Don't eat this apple bro" what he meant was The Lennon Cafe's broasted chicken. This chicken makes Popeyes, Frankemuth, Ida's, Chic Fillet and KFC taste like cardboard. The chicken is seasoned PERFECTLY, breaded/battered and broasted to perfection. We're talking like, this chicken is juicier than National Enquirer gossip. John Goodman needs to do a Michigan Col. commercial for this place. It's THAT good. Come to think of it, EVERYTHING on the menu is good. The ribeye omelette is awesome. The pies are to die for. Even the mashed potatoes were heaven. Seriously, the next time you ask your ole lady what she wants to do for dinner and she reply's "You pick" or "Aww Geesh, I dunno" do yourself the favor, get into your whip and hightail it to the Lennon Cafe. Treat yourself to the greatest 4 pieces of poultry you will ever taste. This will be the pinnacle of your existence. You will leave depressed because your life will be downhill from this point on. You will become addicted. You will ask yourself, "Is this chicken laced with opioids or cocaine? How is it possible that I've woken up in a puddle of cold sweat, shaking and scratching at myself at 3:42 in the morning, craaaaaaaving The Lennon Cafe's broasted chicken?" It happens folks. The waitress didn't fill my water or check on me once. And it wasn't because they were busy. She dropped my food didn't ask if I needed anything, never seen her until I had to walk up to register to pay my bill. I am also a server and it don't take much to get a 5 star review from me because I know how it is in this industry. I don't know if it's because I'm in my 20's or what but that's what it seemed like. I eat 1 to 2 times a week at this restaurant. I work very long hours. Lennon cafe are best food for this not making dinner girl. I just call up order . Never disappointed . We were trying to avoid the construction on I-75 and decided to cut west and take back roads to I-69 on our way home yesterday, and what a great idea that was, because not only did we avoid some horrible traffic congestion, we found a wonderful cafe in Lennon to have a late lunch. First off, this is a little charmer of a building. It's older, full of character, and they've added more to it with the decor - lots of retro, sassy signs, but unique, too, not just the generic "assorted crap on the walls" decor scheme that many chain restaurants have adopted. The staff is SUPER friendly, and even though we were clearly out-of-towners, we were made to feel very welcome. The menu has so many options from which to choose - I settled on the Bavarian Ham and Cheese sandwich - it is grilled on their homemade bread, and I am not kidding when I tell you it is hands-down the most delicious grilled ham and cheese sammich I've ever eaten. You can just taste the quality of the ham and cheese, and the bread is thick but tender, with the grilled bits being just crispy and wonderful. My husband went for the American Steak Sandwich: sliced ribeye on another type of homemade bread that was like a very thick pita and helped to hold in the meat juices. Their fries are cut with the skin still on and cooked to perfection. We indulged ourselves in desserts, because I could not resist the lure of homemade pie. Most of the varieties were sold out due to a large group that had ate in their banquet room before us, but one of the two choices I had made was available: banana cream. WOW. Again, this pie was the best piece of banana cream pie I can say I've ever had. Such a unique crust - thin, but that elusive perfect mix of tender and flaky. Real banana slices! Wonderful creamy texture mixed with the quality whipped cream on top just made for a divine dessert experience. My husband had Amaretto Cherry ice cream and really enjoyed that, too. He's usually strictly a chocolate, or chocolate and cherry ice cream kind of guy, so this was something new for him and he really enjoyed it. Their prices are beyond reasonable. Our bill totaled $23.xx dollars with soft drinks (free refills), two sandwiches, one deluxe with fries, a large piece of pie, and a generous double scoop of ice cream. We left a huge tip because of the great service, too. We will make it a point to visit the Lennon Cafe again, even if we are not in the area for other business. This is one of the best restaurant experiences we've had in a LONG time. read more

Great small town diner with everything from full entree's to home made pies. Everything I have ever had here has been outstanding. It is always great to see the business support the community. Just recently they had a pie eating contest at the Baker Insurance car show. I recommend this place to anyone that wants that extra something that you can't find in the large chains these days. read more

This is a pretty nice little diner. I usually go for breakfast, I'd say a little above average on the food. The few times I've had lunch the food was really good. My favorite thing about this place is getting a slice of homemade pie to go, the pies are amazing. Service can be a little slow at times, but nothing that would make me not want to come back, everyone is always very polite and friendly. If you're in the area I would say this is the best choice around for a descent meal. read more

We had the 2-piece baked cod dinner, with baked potato, coleslaw and vegetable, which was canned peas. Cod was very good with lemon-pepper seasoning, although the pieces were small. The negative was that the plates were cold, as if they'd been in a refrigerator. Service was good. We also got a slice of cheesecake, coconut cream and raspberry cream pies to-go. These pies are not homemade. They used a prepared crust, a few fresh raspberries then a mix of what appeared to be cool whip topping and raspberry jello. Found a long hair in one of the pies. This place has terrible food. I read the review, and my son in law liked it so we tried it for breakfast. I had biscuits and gravy, with scrambled eggs. It was passable but then its hard to make a bad breakfast. So we pressed on and returned for dinner, twice. The first time I had the fish and chips The fish was breaded but not completely cooked, I sent it back, when it returned it had a funny taste like the grease it has been fried in was used to cook something unspeakable. I let it lie. My wife had the hamburger steak with mashed, She too complained of "OFF" flavors. After this we would normally not return but we were with my daughter and she convinced us to try in one more time, So, this time I would try the special item on the menu, the broasted chicken, cooked in a pressure cooker. Had to be good right? Nope, it was bad, the skin was so hard it could barely be cut with a sharp knife, inside it was just tough white leather. I did try the mashed potatoes that came with the dinner and was just as disappointed, Watery tasteless instant! Yuck. I don't know how this place go so bad so quickly, It has traffic, just not sure why. This was the not the worst place I have been lately(that would be another local just opened joint, JTS). read more
