Superb eatery attached to the Best Western in Keene. And across the street from a Hilton property. Excellent bar setup where I have savored cocktails and local beers before events. This time I came over for lunch before a meeting and it was magnificent. A salmon salad the size of a serving platter with a huge, deliciously crispy, salmon fillet with apples, raisins, cranberries, lettuce, tomato, walnuts etc, that made a solo lunch into an epic meal. Had lunch there for the first time this summer and loved it. That being said we went back this yesterday and, well,.... not so much this time. Got the shrimp platter and it was worse than frozen quality accompanied by "green bean and onions" (aka: canned beans and sliced raw onion) and "maple glazed carrots" (watery overcooked carrots with syrup poured on them) Arguably one is the worst lunches in recent memory. With cheesticks with 2 beers the check came to almost $50 I tipped generously out of courtesy but may never return. A far cry from what they were as "Jim eddys" Oh, and the server left our glasses empty nearly the whole meal even though there was hardly anyone else there. my wife and i usually go to Temptesta's every couple of weeks. food has always been good and consistent, last night we tried the beef brisket platter for the 1st time. We had the salad bar 1st and our meal was brought out before we were even 1/2 way thru our salads. Onion rings were overcooked and crispy. There were only 2 thinly sliced pcs of brisket on the platter. several People around us had the prime rib and there plates were plentiful. We stopped in for dinner based on the generally positive reviews and trying to avoid the nearby chains. Service was prompt and pleasant. The food was absolutely terrible. We got the meatballs and gnocchi, the brisket and chicken tenders. The meatballs were bland and did not taste like beef- we didn't eat them. I wanted to try a few times before I reviewed. The interior is really nice and the staff is mostly very friendly although one waitress is obviously impatient under the friendly tones. Chop suey here was horrible. Tasteless and the pasta was soggy. My daughter in law tried one of their special soups with a cornish hen on top that she thought was pretty terrible. They do have a great salad bar and I've not had a bad experience with the fish n chips but most everything we have tried is bland although portions are huge. Beautiful interior. Adjacent to a hotel. It would be great to come for drinks. Extensive menu. Very friendly staff. I had the French onion soup. It was pretty good but not much broth. Clam chowder was not authentic as it also had shrimp in it. It was pretty tasty though. They have a salad bar that was nice but downside was they served it with packets of Ken dressing. That's just not very classy. Chicken sub was flavorful. All in all, great place if you are staying at the hotel, otherwise, too many other options to come back here for another try. read more

Some how, some way the Vibe leads me to such places. Tempestas is attached to a hotel but, by far, not a hotel restaurant. They had an amazing set for specials... and like an old mentor used to say, specials are special and the way to go. I had the stuffed flounder... not usual being so far from the coast but came out epic. Service was exceptional... Did I see twins working the bar? Or one person working three times as hard? My husband and I went for lunch and both our meals were awful.Turkey and Pot Roast. To add insult to injury when we got our bill we were charged more than listed on the menu. It was explained they raise the price for credit card and take 3%off for cash. That seems sleezy if not illegal You charge the listed price and then give a discount for cash. First visit to the new Jim/Eddie's which is now Tempesta's. I like the new spot and it is the same look as the last restaurant that was in the location. Guess it made it easy to make the move to a new space I wasn't very hungry so I ordered an appetizer for my dinner. The Buffalo Chicken Tenders which were good. The tenders were indeed tender !!! My husband had the Smoked Prime Rib. He asked for it Med/Rare which it was. He said it was good but not great. Cooked to his liking but tasteless. The service was very good .... Had Tempesta's cater our son and daughter in laws wedding. Long overdue review. Sorry guys. First off, my family has been visiting Tempesta's since they were in the Gomarlo's building in west Swanzey NH and have always enjoyed the food and hospitality. They knocked this one out of the park. They came to our venue very early in the morning and began the cooking process which lasted almost ten hours of cooking and preparing. Not a person left hungry and most went for seconds. This family-owned business is not just friendly, but they become your family as well. It is like it's their family's wedding as well they make everything so special. Little Jimmy can cook just as good of a meal as his famous dad. If you are planning a wedding event or just family event at their beautiful location in Keene, we highly recommend this family for all your family's needs as far as food and beverage goes. There prices are more than fair, and they treat you with respect and dignity normally reserved for the high dollar places. While the food is good, please educate your wait staff on etiquette. Yes, we had good service, but please, we are not your honey's. We all have names. The women's bathroom. The stalls are incredibly narrow, not to mention the toilet that is at an angle. My sympathies for those who are pregnant. Also, fix your faucets. They either do not work, or come out at such a force, it makes a total mess. Please stop calling the customers honey or sweetie. It is very disrespectful. read more

Great place to have a delicious casual dinner I was staying at the Best Western and relished the idea of having dinner at a restaurant without abstaining from drinking at dinner so as to not have to drive and drink. Turned out to be a great choice. The service couldn't have been better: friendly and attentive. Dinner was delicious (I had the fried clam bellies) and the bar tender makes a mean Manhattan.
