I waited about a month before posting this to give the company time to 'make it right'. As you can tell by my star rating, I am less than satisfied. I'll start off by explaining that I am a repeat customer. I purchased an AC unit from Temperature Control about 8 years ago for a condo I owned at the time. I had wonderful service and the tech was extremely informative. So I made a mistake by using them again without reading recent reviews. Temperature Control has zero accountability for their mistakes. I purchased their top of the line 19 seer Bosch unit. They came out two days later to install during a heatwave. The technician came inside multiple times not looking all that well saying "I am not doing well. I need to sit down". I told him to take a break, gave him water and his response was 'boss doesn't let us take breaks' walking back outside. The job was finished 2 hours earlier than the time he told me it would take and the metal bracket that the unit sits on was 2 hours late. However, I was satisfied... until it rained. The following day we had monsoon rains and it rained down my walls, out of air duct vents and was coming out of the baseboards. I spent a couple hours mopping while waiting for a Temperature Control tech to come out. The tech gets here and takes a look at the install. Immediately he comes inside to show me photo's and said "this is my fourth call today from a bad install". The photo's showed 1 inch gaps in the roof of my house and air duct where the water was pouring in. In the following weeks I had Steamy Concepts out almost everyday to check the moisture in the walls. They left 5 huge blower fans which had to be powered on 24/7 for a little over a week pulled out baseboards and took a chuck out of my wall and ceiling. They also can't schedule those visits so they only give a 20-30 min window before arrival. On multiple occasions I had to drive home to meet the Steamy Concepts technician. After Steamy Concepts took their equipment back and said someone would come out to patch the walls and ceiling and reinstall baseboards. Two days later I had to call to ask when they were planning on coming out and I got a call the following day scheduling the work. The company that does the renovation is Royalty Renovations. They were the only positive part of this experience. The guy was nice, respectful and repainted when I asked him to fix the paint drips all over the place. It has been a little over a month since the initial install and the company does not care about the time/money I lost/spent cleaning the mess caused by their technician. Installation Manager, Tony told me to text him directly for any problems but he doesn't respond. The General Manager, Jason called me and asked what I think is an acceptable price that they should pay for what I am out of pocket. I told him that I can't provide that until the problem is resolved but he pushed for a price. The amount I gave him was about 5% of what I paid and he came back saying that they would do 2.5%. Not interested in the back and forth, I declined sticking to the 5% as that was much less than lost wages and time I spent driving to and from my house for all the appointments. This should have been complete in 3 visits by Temperature Control but instead took 16 from 3 different companies. Anytime I ask Temperature Control why I am the one having to follow up they push the blame to Steamy Concepts and Royalty Renovations saying they should have contacted me. I called on 7/30 and spoke to a receptionist explaining the situation and also told her I would like a refund for the duct blast($428) and duct cleaning($495), since that is a service I paid for and never received. I asked about it on three separate occasions and nobody had gotten back to me to set that up. She told me she would reach out to Jason to let him know and that he won't be in office until about noon since he is offsite. I said that was fine and here I am sitting two days later still waiting for a call. The company is just not what is used to be. I would be hesitant to recommend Temperature Control even as a last resort.

Not a good thing when temps on the horizon are projected to be at 100 degrees or more. I did some self-diagnosis and changed the fuses in the outdoor disconnect box, replaced the capacitor with an Amrad (US-made, high quality), and installed a new contactor - all the common failure items. No luck. I'm wise enough to know that going up in the attic was a no-go at my age, so decided it would need the services of a pro, and did I ever get one! I had previously read a glowing report on social media about an HVAC company here in the area, so after reading their Yelp reviews, I gave them a call. Kyle from Samson & Sons Heating & Cooling came out the following morning, and before beginning, we discussed (and he really listened to) the steps I had previously taken, which helped him to decide where to start, and that was the air handler in the attic. In less than five minutes he had discovered the burnt remains of electric power wires at a burnt wire nut. Thank goodness it was all contained inside a small metal connection box, where charcoal SHOULDN'T be!. Since Kyle has previously worked as a journeyman electrician, he knows how to properly make connections using wire nuts (think twist wires together first), so that problem is highly unlikely to reoccur. This HVAC failure is complements of the original DH Horton HVAC sub-contractor, which I won't mention in text. Kyle told me he knew who the installing contractor was before I told him, as he had already noticed the ALUMINUM refrigerant lines crossing the attic. I believe they're supposed to be copper, but you KNOW which is cheaper! Kyle pointed out the electrical tape wrapped around the ferruled tubing connector, supposedly to keep air from oxidizing the aluminum tubing, which (after a long time) eventually creates a refrigerant leak (think dis-similar metals). In time, everyone in our development will likely have a problem with this. And so, we again have cool air inside, accomplished at a reasonable cost. These guys KNOW THEIR STUFF, and the science behind providing a quality job! Please, Mark, remain an independent, and don't sell out to "private equity" in my lifetime! You guys are a true Tucson Treasure!

The air flow from the registers read 80. I had a very positive experience with Todd from Rincon. When I showed him the figures, he speculated my AC was low on refrigerant. He gave me a price estimate assuming refrigerant had to be added to the AC unit. After checking pressure readings on my AC unit, he added two pounds of refrigerant to the AC unit and the air flow temperature started coming down. He then checked for possible leaks and found one which he was able to repair. During the time he was working, Todd answered my questions which helped me better understand what to expect regarding my AC unit. I am delighted to report that the inside temperature eventually dropped down to the thermostat setting and the air flow coming from the registers was 20 degrees cooler than the inside temperature. Todd indicated that is what I should expect. The next day everything is working as expected. The Inside temperature matches the thermostat setting and the air flow from the registers is 20 degrees cooler than the inside temperature. Todd was easy to communicate. He was able to repair the leak and didn't charge me for it, which I appreciated. I will be requesting him for any future servicing my AC might need.
