I had an appointment for a basic annual AC service included in my subscription. The first words out of the service man's mouth was "Are you the decision maker in the household?" Now why in the world would a serviceman need to know who pays the bills when I'm getting a basic service on a subscription? And he asked that before he even looked at my system. My "service" was a high pressure sales job to buy $10k worth of additions for my AC. Immediately! Now! Or I could DIE! Apparently, I went from getting a AC service to being in a life threatening situation: lung disease and cancer if I don't upgrade. Or my system might have been installed upside down. My system is relatively new. I have never been told by a workman that it was installed upside down or was holding toxic black mold spores. Good try asshats. I have been trying to cancel my service for three months! I have left messages, sent emails, disputed it with my credit card company. They will not cancel, but they keep leaving messages asking if I am satisfied with their service. I have since moved out of state--and they are still charging me. My ex husband is a veteran. Normally I try to support our veterans. But even vets can be scammers and opportunists. Embarrassing for our country.

As I eavesdropped, the man told the listener how small leaks could be repaired, but only to call D & H as they were the best in Tucson. I remembered that conversation two nights ago when our house reached 85°. We called D & H and Moises and Isaiah were here first thing in the morning. They checked the condenser-- measuring outputs and levels of various aspects, and, at my request, shared all the information with my husband and me. It was apparent that our twelve-year-old air conditioner had died. Moises called his boss on speaker phone in our living room so that all of us had input on the brand we would get and how much the new system would cost. We worked out a fair deal for all of us. Imagine our surprise when Jeremy and Caleb showed up just an hour or so later and quickly got to work! These two men worked though the 105° heat with no complaints in order to give us a much cooler house that night. They double-checked their work, measuring the temperature coming from the vents, made sure the furnace worked, and, despite their exhaustion, hauled away all the boxes, old A/C unit and various pieces of trash that someone else was supposed to have done. I don't know that we've ever had better, more considerate or thorough workers than those two! I'm so glad I eavesdropped on the man in the blood test lab that day because I believe we DID indeed find the best air conditioning company in Tucson!

Other plumbers wanted to cut into the concrete an area of about three feet by three feet. This would have been impossible to match the aggregate concrete. D&H was able to remove the flap and install an entire new valve down and off the concrete. My home and yard looks like nothing happened. Everything seems to be working perfectly. It also saved me a significant cost in the overall repair itself. I am very happy with the results. The estimate was very clear and detailed as to what would be done and the workers kept me informed along the way. I am very satisfied with the results. I got three separate estimates.

Russett Southwest - New Lennox AC & Heating Systems install

    Russett Southwest

Updated review:…read more TLDR: Russett sold us a defective unit for $9,000 4 years ago, it is still under warranty, but they want $2,900 to do the repairs under warranty. Do not buy Lennox, do not buy Russett. Full story below. Unit is a Lennox, purchased from and installed by Russett, still under warranty. It stopped cooling in mid June so we made some calls. Russett didn't get back to us the first day, so we called another company to at least get an idea of what we were looking at. They sent a tech out same day and he showed me photos of a cracked coil and leaked refrigerant and oil in the pan. Short version: coil needs replacing. He uses an OEM approved part to get us up and running and says hey, just so you know, Lennox has a rough time with warranty claims. So I call Russett again, thinking that as a Lennox dealer and the original installer they will be able to make this right. I call first thing in the morning and try to describe what's going on, then ask if they can help us navigate the warranty claim process. On the other end of the line is awkward silence. Then a vague sentence about "warranty claims don't really work like that." Ok... then can you explain how they do work? So I say goodbye. I've been confused, but polite and civil the entire time. After all that and getting no help on the phone from Russett yesterday morning, a manager called me back in the middle of the day and said he'd like to "help us out." By this point our AC is out in late June and the temp inside our house hit 94. The manager refused to quantify what "helping us out" meant. Does that mean you'll just come over and fix it? "No, but we'd like to help." I say I will call him back later. In the meantime, our unit is down again, this time on a 109 degree day. So I call our other tech again. He comes by for no additional charge and gets us up and running- the temporary patch on the coil is not the problem! Now there is a cracked fan blade and a bad capacitor! He gets us running in 20 min and says if Russett won't help us he'll give a good deal on the labor to replace the broken parts. Fast forward, I called Russett back this morning. I asked them to quantify what "helping us out" actually means, because now we need three warranty parts replaced. He said the discounted labor rate for a machine they sold us and installed, still under warranty, is $2,900. 30% of the original install price to replace their defective crap. When I laughed out loud at this, the Russett manager said "We don't make them, we just sell them." I replied that maybe they should not be selling garbage to their customers. The other company is helping me with the claim and giving me a dramatically better price ($800) on labor for the repair. Original Review Below: Russet sold us a lemon of an ac unit a couple years ago. Still under warranty but springing leaks in the coil. 500 bucks in from a different company for a temporary repair. Asked russet to help us navigate the warranty and got silence on the other end of the line. Ac not working, no help from russet.

We have dealt with Russett for many years, and in my opinion, the manner in which it conducts business has changed in the recent past. On a recent semi annual service call under our service agreement. The service technician spent considerably less time than prior technicians had spent, and we question whether it was a thorough inspection. After the inspection we were presented with an estimate for work which was allegedly necessary at a cost of over $10,000. In our opinion, this seemed excessive for nine year-old units. We obtained a second inspection and were told that the suggested repairs were not necessary and that the units were in good working condition. This may have been a isolated problem, but in any event caused us to decide to discontinue dealing with Russett after approximately 15 years of having done so. Very disappointing!
