So I hate giving negative reviews, but everyone needs to beware. Called this company on a Friday night and was grateful they came out late. But they said the compressor on our 3 yr old unit was going out. Hhhmmm for those of you who don't know, this is super rare. It can happen though. They said the part was under warranty but the labor and coolant was going to be over $4200 including service fee. And they wanted money upfront to do the work. What?! So we initially paid it, but it didn't sit well. We gave them over $4K and sat in a hot house all weekend. We called them, cancelled the service, and asked for a refund. They obliged. We had another company come out. Um 3 of the 6 wires on the unit were loose! The compressor was not going out. Wires expand when they get hot, so as the wires got hot and moved they lost connection. We sat all weekend in a hot house during a severe weather warning all weekend, and it was just loose wires. Thank goodness we got a bad feeling. So we paid the other company $89 for a diagnostic service and had AC immediately. Moral of the story, no matter how hot it is, get a second opinion, and not from ACS. read more

This AC service company cannot be trusted. Our air conditioner was working but was making a noise, we called ACS and scheduled a tech to come out and do a summer inspection. The tech found a failed capacitor in condensor. ACS charged $1200 to replace the capacitor in 3.5 ton Trane condensing unit. This charge was all put on a 95 year old senior citizen The tech and service department refused to show pricing on the Capacitor part or labor (2 hrs). Our research showed the exact capacitor part cost less than $50. We brought in another AC service company that we trusted and they confirmed we were ripped off. The repair for labor and part should have been less than $300. This company 20 years ago used to be owned by Steve Rogers and was honest. Not anymore! I would caution anyone against using this air conditioning service company. Not trustworthy, deceptive practices and not fair pricing. They target elderly people who are looking for honest help. They cannot be trusted. read more

Updated Review: 6/28/21: Convinced Sandra to send the tech out again. This time, instead of replacing the thermostat, as I insisted that wasn't the problem and had been replaced 3 times, he did a more thorough analysis of everything. He discovered a faulty wire with intermittent connection (my valve switching O/B wire). Upon swapping out the wire with another unused one, everything functioned perfectly! I don't blame the tech for not being able to immediately diagnose an intermittent wiring failure, especially after the initial replacement of the thermostat produced a false positive. However, I still believe Sandra should be fired as she does not know what it takes to handle basic customer service and pointed me out to be a liar instead of taking care of her customers. 5 stars for the tech Travis, -7 stars for Sandra. Original Review 6/24/21: Avoid. Hundreds of better businesses around. Thought it was a great experience initially and rated it 5 stars, but turns out the tech got the diagnosis was wrong. After an additional followup the tech, once again said I needed to replace the thermostat (a second time). Completed his recommendation with a top of the line Nest and it still failed. He told me it could be the reversing valve but he didn't want to go that route because it's an expensive repair. After setting up a third appointment I was told by Sandra (the person who answered the phone) that I would have to pay for 3 service visits at full price because I did not buy their thermostat which was the actual "solution" ...super sketchy. Unfortunately it wasn't until after threatening to complain to the BBB and file a chargeback, that Sandra agreed to send the tech out again. ACS did a custom mini split installation in my home that was pretty complicated and required a lot of creativity to make it work since I had such a small attic. I want to thank Ryan Foreman for his persistence and willingness to work with me and go the extra mile to get it right. I also want to give a special thanks to William Myers and Joe Miller for their willingness to spend so much time in my tiny attic to get things to fit perfectly. These guys were amazing! I am so pleased with the final result. The system is extremely efficient, keeps the place at a perfect temperature with almost no noise whatsoever. read more

It would have been a 1 star if not for the great installation they did years ago. My problem now is after a few years of scheduled maintenance, they messed up the last call and performed a lower grade maintenance than the contract I paid for on the last call. I was going to call about it but before I did I got a bill for the maintenance even though I paid for a contract on the last call. They asked for a copy of my receipts since they didn't have them due to a software change they made. The person on the phone said she would look into it and call me back. So, two weeks later after no call back, I get another bill in my email for the same thing. I call back and explain it all over again. She said they found the problem and she would call right back with the options I would have to resolve it. A week later, no call again, and I get another bill for the same thing. So, I filed a BBB complaint and the day they receive it I get a call right away. I thought we resolved the issue when she said they would send the check out to me. After some messages on the BBB site, I replied I would accept the resolution if I get the check. Well, weeks again and no check, even though I called a couple weeks ago and she said the check on was his desk waiting to be signed but he was out due to having a child and he is the only one that signs the checks. Looks like another BBB complaint on the way, I am tired of the runaround this place gives me. Sure, they did a great installation, but trying to get money back they owe you is very frustrating. I get they made a mistake, but how can they treat people like this by not calling back and not sending out money they owe you. read more

ACS replaced our heat pump on a hot July day. The installers were considerate and friendly. They provided two portable air conditioning units to get us through the day and those worked quite well. They were experienced and knowledgeable, giving the impression that they'd done this many times before. They had everything done by late afternoon. The new system works great! read more

As a 3+ year customer, very happy with routine maintenance and new AC/furnace unit installation. We just had Manny over for the half-yearly maintenance. We called several companies, including ACS. The ACS team were by far the most professional and knowledgeable, and unbelievably responsive and courteous. We finally made the decision in 2017 and installed two 20 SERE Trane units. Dustin and his team are outstanding and they truly know what it means to do a professional install. They improved my utility closets and even improved my hot water heater installation to make the closets clean and to code. I have even taken house guests out to see their workmanship. Its that good. We have had their service plan and their support team is on the ball. We have had no system issues other than standard maintenance. They provide excellent advice on the care of the machines and how to set them up. The entire organization is professional and courteous. You will not find better in Tucson. read more

They left portable units for us to use over the weekend which was a life saver. Ryan came out Monday morning & we picked out a new system. My husband and I close on our new home Monday, we were trying to get ACS to come out for a​follow-up​ inspection; unfortunately,​ all phone numbers listed for ACS on google, facebook, twitter, ​and their own website give the message when you call, "this is not a working number." Forgot to leave a review years ago about these guys. Ubreliable, and not worth the money. From wrong holes cut in the roof, mistakenly removing an entire duct from the home (didn't find out until we realized the upstairs wasn't cooling) and then sloppily repairing another whole in the wall they cut by mistake. My ac went out at the worst time, Saturday evening. Thought for sure I was out of luck til Monday. Where do you turn... Yelp of course. Found these guys and they looked legit, and had a contact button for 24/7 service. OK, that's me. Also felt comforted my yelp friend also posted a good review, hat tip Robin. Called and talked to what I could tell was an after hours answering service, so was a little nervous but they assured someone would call me shortly. Within about 5 minutes Peter called and gave me a time. He showed up on time, friendly, professionals, quickly diagnosed the problem, did a great job explaining the issue and had me back up and running in no time. We recently moved from California to Arizona and have been here less than six months. The home we purchased is approximately 17 years old--it has had two previous owners, the second family occupied the residence for a short time before we purchased the property. It is safe to say that there were things that were original to the home and that included the HVAC system. We were not having problems with the unit but we felt that it was only a matter of time and opted to be proactive and replace the unit. My husband obtained several quotes, met with several sales people and heard several sales pitches, some better than others. We went with the last company that came to our home and that was ACS. The sales person, Arin was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, experienced, patient and was able to answer any and all questions we had. ACS was comparable in price with some of the other outfits but they were not the least expensive. Even with the rebates and other considerations, it was an expense but we felt that the benefits would validate the cost.. There were problems encountered during the installation. Much of this is very technical and has to do with boards not being programmed, a thermostat not working properly, a hall register that was replaced did the fit the opening properly. The installation took longer than anyone expected. Through it all, however, every single phone call we made, every single contact we had with the technicians and the sales rep who we met with initially was 100% satisfactory...this company went to great lengths to deliver what they promised. At one point, the general manager, Dustin came out to the site to personally extend his apologies and a day or two later, the technician that came to the house presented us with gift cards. The problems with the equipment were glitches that could have happened with any company but how they were handled sets ACS well above most. They were sensitive to our needs, understood our concerns, took care of the issues and remained courteous and amiable. ACS excelled in providing great customer service from the women in the office to Arin, our sales rep, Dustin and Peter (techs), another Dustin (general manager). They were professional and hardworking and excellent troubleshooters. They were able to diagnose the problems and fix them in a timely manner. We would highly recommend ACS for all your HVAC needs. read more

BE CAREFUL TRUSTING THIS COMPANY! I had a scary encounter with one of the drivers from this company. It was my turn to go on the Valencia i10 ramp and one of their Cars was beside me, about 3 cars from that side had already gone before me so i decided to pick up my speed so I wouldn't miss my turn again and when I did the ACS delivery decided he didn't want to let me go so he steps on his gas and literally almost touches my bumper and makes it seem like he was going to hit me. He also slams his horn the entire time. I look at my rear view mirror and this guy then decide to flip me off with a nasty face. Flowing that he tries to drive next to me while giving a ghetto death stare. It's like he forgot he was in his work car. I called the company to report him and the"manager" girl seems just as unprofessional. Her whole tone was that of "so what?" Choose wisely, this says alot about this company. read more

Daniel to the rescue! Once again ACS comes through for us. Since my last review on 7/6/2014 ACS has replaced our old aging Trane with a new one and they did an excellent job at that time for which I wrote a detailed review of the event on their Facebook page. We couldn't have been happier with the work and Arin & Daniel were awesome as was the crew. This year and to no fault of theirs I apparently didn't clean out my P trap drain well enough to remove some debris that had started to build up in the trap and caused the unit to shut down due to heavy condensation build-up that would have caused water damage had it not shut off. I had to call the 24 hour on call person who was very pleasant since I woke him out of bed in the middle of the night. He helped me get the unit going until we could call in the morning and schedule for someone to come out on a "Friday" and take a peek at the issue. Well as always Daniel shows up between 2 & 4 pm and resolves the issues in a few minutes. Daniel is awesome and what I appreciate about him the most and with all of the ACS team is that they will educate you as to what you problem is and they take their time. They are the best in communication between professional and customer and that says a lot about the superior quality of serves you get with ACS. The Rogers family has certainly done their due diligence in hiring the best of the best in HVAC repair. **** It should be noted that we found ACS by trial and failure with other HVAC companies (even the ones with local celebrity endorsement) and would NEVER want anyone to go through what we did trying to find the right company to service your HVAC unit. These guys are horrible. Don't trust them. I got a new AC and they completely scammed me. They told me I was getting a loan and came replaced the AC. Turns out was a lease not a loan and paying over 12,000 for a 4,000 unit. They lied and sad part is my elderly mother was sitting there while they lied regarding the terms. My mother has end stage kidney disease and they scammed her to. Who does that? Do not use this company. Someone with kidney disease has to stay cool and hydrated to live and they preyed on that weakness to make money. Makes me physically ill that they used my mothers illness for money. I was referred to ACS by another company who would not take new customers during the summer heat emergencies. I called them at 8:15am and by 9:15am I had cool air. The service tech, Peter Herb, was friendly and efficient. What I appreciate the most is that they didn't over-charge me when they easily could have on a Saturday with temperatures forecast to be 106 degrees all weekend. Their diagnostic fee was actually less than the company I originally called. Well Done!!! I will be using them for routine servicing going forward! read more

I just replaced home HVAC. After going out for bids, I selected ACS because they explained what needed to be done and what a good installation would require. Several of the other bidders were very hard to pin down, in fact one I never really ever get a quote from only rough estimates. Of the 7 vendors who bid, only 2 mentioned that a permit was needed and that they would handle the permit. After checking, I found out that the others do not apply for permits ... They know it is your responsibility even if you don't. Also, only two of the bidders were able to provide the energy star rebate thru TEP. One said you just apply after we finish the job. I checked with TEP and found out only contractors on their approved list can provide those rebates, that contractor was not on the approved list. Daniel, the installer, did a very nice install significantly improving on the previous install. He also sealed the ducts and balanced the air flow. Excellent work. I'm impressed with ACS, hoping for 10 or more years of trouble free performance. read more

My AC stopped cooling and I called ACS at 11, on the recommendation of my parents. They were there by 1:30, within the time frame they'd originally quoted me. I was so pleased as I have pets and was worried about going without AC for any length of time. Manny was very up front about the work my previous AC company should have done and he explained everything in terms I could easily understand. He pointed out several problems that my previous company should have told me about and corrected, especially considering that if not fixed, the problems could cause me to need a new AC compressor and/or unit. I am extremely happy with the service tech (Jake) sent to help me when my AC failed, he was efficient and knowledgeable and got the job done! I am less happy with the business practice of ACS. Let me repeat, thanks for getting out to help me and for getting my system back online for $357.... I think that is a fair price but it needs to be sold in a fair way. 1) When I call for service they asked me if it was an emergency (it was 110 degrees out and expected to be over 100 every day for the coming week). I presume this was how they determine the cost of the visit.... I said it was not an emergency (I have a camper with AC and we moved into it for the next few days before the service call. 2) When I said it was not an emergency they said someone would call me to schedule the repair. When they called several hours later they asked if I needed it fixed immediately. I asked what difference that made. They said they would send a tech out to fix it at the overtime rate that afternoon ($135 for showing up, plus repairs), or I could wait until the next day and it would be $85 for the visit (plus repairs). I chose to wait till the next day. 3) I pointed out that the system had just been installed 2 years and 1 week ago by them.... they said the warranty was 2 years on repairs, 5 years on the hardware - but that since I was out of warranty (1 week) I would have to pay for the visit ($85) and labor on repairs but possibly not parts 4) I had a bad capacitor on the compressor. My choice was that they would replace the capacitor for free (warranty) - however I still needed to pay the $85 visit and $135 for labor on the repair..... or they would sell me a better capacitor ($268) that rarely fails and waive the labor - but still pay the $85 visit Making the total cost $357. This is what I did. 5) After they left I walked in and logged onto Amazon.com - the OEM capacitor is $18. The better capaticor is $55 Bottom line: Thanks for the service and getting my system back up on a hot day, however: I would have gladly paid $357 if it was sold as $57 for the capacitor with $300 for the visit, diagnosis and installation..... but using the mark up (500%) to hide the labor cost is just bad business.... And finally the fact this this was done exactly 1 week out of warranty leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I will hand it to these guys-they are the best. My AC went out about 8pm on a Friday nite. Great! I looked up multiple companies in Tucson and found that 24/7 Emergency Service means that an answering service will answer the phone but you won't get service until they want to come over. ACS clearly has an answering service and actually came out THAT nite! Within an hour and a half, the technician Patrick was at my house and had my system running! To all you AC companies in Tucson---THAT is 24/7 Emergency Service- take a lesson. I can't say enough about them and how happy I was with the service I received. Patrick--you are awesome and thank you for helping me out. On top of all that, the prices are great. Ok, full disclosure- we have been friends with the Rogers Family for like 7 years. Our kids are best friends. So naturally when we bought an older house and it needed new ACs and duct work redone, we called ACS. But doing business with friends can be tricky- what if the employees are rude or the installers/techs don't do a good job? Oh my gosh I worried for nothing- they were AMAZING. I mean really amazing. We just had our floors redone and ALL the dudes that came out (and sometimes there were like 5 guys there at a time because it was a big job) were super respectful of our home and of me, wore booties on their shoes, etc. They never showed up late, never promised anything they didn't deliver- it was awesome. Even the ladies that call to set up appointments are super friendly and nice. I felt so comfortable with the installers that I even let them in to work when I wasn't there. Did I kind of expect star treatment since we're friends- totally. But the funny thing is I never felt like they were acting like "oh geez-best behavior- she's friends with the boss." It was just like this is how they operate and they were just doing their job like they normally do. I literally have nothing I could complain about- not one thing. One of the units had an error code when they installed it, and I got a prompt phone call from the office scheduling a tech to come fix it, which happened within like 2 days even though it was right after New Years. So, crazy long story short- ACS is awesome all the way around and I wholeheartedly recommend them. read more
