Pride in gouging their customers is what they are. Came out quickly in PM in what was supposed to be a $79 call and diagnosis problem when all the power to our house went out. Technician said it might cost a lot to replace our main breaker fuse because our equipment was outdated, but we were certainly not ready for the $1500 quote he gave!! We are a fixed income retired couple without AC, lights, or a working refrigerator and felt like we had no choice. He promised an early morning fix... After researching the part price and the normal price for this service we found out that we had been charged about 4 times the going rate (it only took about 2 hours total to fix). When I finally got an email with the breakdown of charges, I saw that they coded it as repairs to a commercial property (not the 1500sqft home we live in), so I thought it was just a coding error. Called and spoke with the manager. No he was a-okay with what they charged us. Felt like he could charge us that because it was old equipment and was so involved. On 10/2025 Pride installed a control board on my Generac generator tranfer power box first time power went out it failed tech came out worked on the board redid a wire connector and worked on the fuze box the next power failure it did not work spoke to tech he determined the board he installed was bad was 6 to 8 weeks ago paid the first time they are now telling me to have this board installed i will have to pay again or they will not install.do business with them at your own risk! read more

Sadly, after well over 10 years of being fully satisfied with Pride Mechanical HVAC service and installation... we will no longer be using them. Previously they were always fairly priced, honest and service oriented. After Pride was sold to a new out of town owner a few years ago, we sensed a change in their people and practices. At our periodic service this week the technician recommended adding an expensive part to one of our four-year-old units to moderate the start up current drain on the compressor. We agreed to his proposal. Later that day I checked on the internet and found that the typical price for this part and estimated installation charge was less than half of what Pride charged us as a "preferred customer." I called the local manager for an explanation. He seemed proud of the fact that they charged twice what the normal installed price was for this part. We are no longer a Pride customer. read more

Pride Cooling installed my AC in 2021. It's still under warranty and pride has been to fix it six times and they still can't get it right. The lowest the temperature gets is 78 degrees and the AC won't shut down. The last time they were out the service manager came after they worked o it in pretty much told me that it's the best it's going to get. He did say he could install a valve that would cost 1460.00 but couldn't guarantee it would work. I've tried to contact them with no response back So in summary stay as far away from this company they are hacks. read more

Amazing service! We are under contract for checking our system twice per year (A/C and heat). Our thermostat went out so we asked for a service call. The technician was extremely knowledgeable (we have a complicated system) and he got us up and running. He checked everything inside and out. Best part was the cost since we are under contract. Responsible company. Called RiteWay first and they said AC condensate needs replaced but part is out of manufacture so need to buy new AC. Called PRide Mechanical for 2nd opinion. They went through 4 vendors to find part, but actually part was still unavailable so they came up with plan B. Use same size pan from another company. Overall it worked out and got my AC working. In the downtime when the AC was broken they gave us a portable AC free during this hot summer days. Price was exactly as quoted without extra charge. Very reliable company! read more

WTH Yelp??? I wanted to give five stars but it wouldn't let me. We've been having Pride out to do our fall and spring checkups for a few years. Tony is the absolute best. He's always on time or early, he's super nice and very knowledgeable. Overcharged. Paid $450 for a fan motor I could have bought off Amazon for $150. A service charge of $85 on top of the $450 for a total of $535. I knew the $450 was more than double the cost of the motor when the service technician (John) told me the cost. I was willing to pay the $450 because it was hot, he's a professional, and I wouldn't have to wait for the motor to get delivered. So I gave the go-ahead. John installed the motor, no problem. When I went to pay I was writing the check I said $450. John replies, "Plus the $85 service charge." The $85 "service charge" was just gouging. When the technician throws in those extra costs at the end of the service, that's just gouging. The job is done, are you supposed to argue with the technician? When you ask for a price you should get the whole price for the completed job. John was polite and professional, no problem there. Arrived early, all good. Otherwise, I would give them one star. I jumped the gun and should never have posted a review before these clowns left. I learned they likely overfilled my Freon because they didn't weigh anything and now everything freezes. Even better... they scheduled to return with needed parts and never showed up. They promised to adjust my dip switches and get everything working correctly but they never did this either. They promised to return to service the second unit and never showed up. I even confronted the owners brother when I saw him in public out in his van and he promised to schedule everything again and we never even received a phone call. Never showed up as expected, no follow through, never finished the job. And yes we paid the bill, gave them every cent they asked for on the spot. read more

I'm impressed all over again! We've been having issues with our heater and had a different company dispatched through our home warranty. This other company could not figure out how to fix out system. I decided to call Pride Mechanical and thank god I did. Jacob came out and explained everything he was doing step by step. I recently had Pride recommended to me by a client of mine. I have owned my home since 2005 and have never had the furnace or A/C serviced. I decided to do so and was very happy with the service and the professionalism of the technician, Peter. He was very thorough and explained to me what he and his equipment were finding. Turns out I had to purchase a compressor. Yikes! Rude awakening to have to purchase such an expensive item. Before Peter left, he called around for the item and gave me a secured quote of what the item and labor would cost me. I asked around and was told that the price was reasonable. That being said, I am really taking the time to write this review because I noticed where there were a few negative comments about the installer, Roy. I was told that Roy would be my installer and I was tempted to call the office and ask for another guy. I'm glad I didn't! Roy was wonderful! I had the compressor installed by him today, along with his assistant. He was very nice, friendly, professional and considerate. The install was done in a timely manner and I am very pleased. Can't speak for the past, but if I should need this company again, I would not hesitate to ask for Roy. read more

I had a technician stop by to check my ac because it wasn't blowing any cool. he said it just needed some Freon and told me that my unit was getting old and may need to replace soon. Even though my unit was 15 yrs old, I told him that no one is ever home so it is hardly used. He added 2 lbs. of Freon, $120, he was there about 30 mins. $67 labor and was on his way. 2 days later, my ac unit was once again blowing hot air. I asked a friend of mine if who does ac moonlighting work if he could come by and check my unit. he did. Guess what, he found a leak in one of the lines and repaired it. he recharged my unit for a nominal fee, less than $100 and now my unit is working fine. Moral of the story, don't use these people. they're either not trained or just out to make money without properly checking their units.I'm sure he does this on most of his house calls. It was just over 100 degrees today, my fiance was home sick with a fever, and I arrived home to no air conditioning. I called our property managers and the girl I spoke to who sounds way too young to be working there, informed me she would put a work order in with an outside company. An hour later I hadn't heard from anyone, so I called back. She explained she didn't know when we would hear from someone, as she just puts the order in. I explained the urgency of the situation, sick fiance, 2 long haired cats, 100 degree weather... She attempted to sound empathetic. I explained to her I was going to call someone on my own and deduct the bill from the rent, as this is an emergency. She explained we couldn't do that, and that we need to give 5 days notice. For an emergency?? I said a few choice words to her and hung up. After 3 more hours and a house now at 83 degrees, I did some research, and found Pride Mechanical. They weren't too far from me, and they offered 24/7 emergency service. It was after closing when I called, but the young woman who answered was friendly and helpful, and assured me someone would be calling me back and arriving in about an hour. Within 20 minutes I received a call from Cory, the tech, letting me know he was 5 minutes away. Cory was wonderful. Friendly and professional, he looked at our outside unit, and found the problem almost immediately. Within 10 minutes he had replaced the part and had the unit up and running again. I was so very grateful and thankful for Cory's prompt, fantastic service, and the wonderful service by the company. Thank you!!
