Excellent service. Shandon was professional, on time, and really knew what he was doing. A previous electric company (Volt) in Tucson came out, charged me a fortune and did not fix the problem. The microwave kept tripping the breakers. Modern Electric took 15 minutes to test various outlets and the microwave and I'm not kidding, the charge was 1/10 of what Volt charged. I cannot recommend Modern Electric enough. Honestly goes a long way. read more

Shandon was so helpful! We hired him to install an EV charger in our garage. It wasn't super straight forward, as our electrical panel was not on the same side as the garage. He did a great job. Was punctual and considerate of our time. He cleaned up after the job and didn't leave it a mess. Overall great experience and would recommend! read more

I'm visiting Rio Rico, staying as a guest at a friend's house, and I drove to the area in my EV, hoping to be able to charge from a high-voltage outlet at the house. Arrived to find that the car refused to connect due to improper grounding in the outlet, with the nearest fast charger being in Tucson. This was a major handicap for my plans for a week of touring SE Arizona. Since I'm already here, my need was urgent. I Yelped for local electricians and made calls, and the only one who responded at all, and within two hours of my call, was Shandon, the owner of Modern Electric. He was already booked with jobs, but, sympathizing with my situation, he offered to come down late the next day after wrapping up on his scheduled job. After good communication, he arrived at the agreed time and tried to correct the problem, but was unable to do a quick fix due to the poor original wiring job (i.e., would have required running another wire in the house, bigger job). But he improvised a solution on the spot, modifying another available outlet so that my car could connect. Very modest charge. Shandon really saved my vacation trip, and was very personable and obviously a full-on pro. Highly recommend. read more

I wanted to install a "generator inter-connect" so that I could hook up our portable generator during any electric company power outage. Running the refrigerator, the freezer, along with a modest number of other 110V items was my desired end result. Unfortunately, our 50-year-old electric service box did not have a main disconnect switch and therefore would not support a generator inter-connect system. We called Shandon Wynecoop, owner of Modern Electric LLC who responded immediately to my request for an estimate. He visited our home, inspected the service, we discussed my desired end result and he submitted an estimate to complete the work. We accepted his proposal. This project went very smoothly. Modern Electric contacted the electric company to 1) schedule a full home electric outage, 2) acquire any needed permits, schedules, and other associated requirements, 3) ordered and received the needed equipment, 4) on the scheduled outage day came and completed replacement of the entire service panel with new, modern equipment including the generator inter-connect equipment, 5) coordinated the power company inspection and re-energizing of the new equipment, and 6) completion and final testing of all equipment and work. Modern Electric did not consider the work was complete until I was totally satisfied. Their rates were in line with and slightly less than other proposals we received. The project was completed smoothly and easily by Modern Electric for the agreed upon price. Shandon Wynecoop is a very nice young man and a pleasure to work with. We give Shandon Wynecoop and Modern Electric LLC 5 stars all the way on our review. We would highly recommend that you consider them for any electric project work around your home or business. Shandon and his team helped out with an EV charger install and I had gotten a quote from a number of other companies and his was the most reasonable. I hired Modern Electric to install 2 Tesla Wall Connector chargers in my garage. I was able to email the owner, Shandon, high res. photos to get an estimate without needing an on site visit. The price of the estimate was very competitive and I should know since I contacted over a dozen companies to get estimates for this job. Many electricians are not familiar with install EV chargers. Shandon, the owner, came his two other electrician employees to complete the job. They arrived promptly and did very professional work. Once the work was complete, I received the bill and it was significant LESS than the original estimate. The owner explained that they were able to get the job done in less time than expected and passed the savings on to me. Finally, the owner used a leaf blower to clean out my garage after finishing - WOW!!! After they left, I followed the charging instructions on my phone to complete the commissioning step. Hiring Shandon at Modern Electric has been one of the best experiences I have ever had in working with a contractor, and I have worked with many. I give Modern Electric my strongest recommendation and will hire them again if I every need any future electrical work. read more

This business never responded to my message. After a week of waiting I hired another contractor.

Needed to replace three pendant lamps in our kitchen. Decided to get bids on Yelp for the job. Modern electric submitted the lowest and most reasonable bid. Anthony came out in a few days and had the job completed within an hour. He was very friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend Modern for your electrical job. read more

Very responsive and timely. Helped me with quite a few projects I had around the house for a good price. I had a light fixture/ceiling fan, several smoke detectors, an automatic door lock, and smart thermostat installed. Shandon was very pleasant to interact with, had all the jobs finished in a good time, and made sure I was happy with the job before leaving. I would definitely recommend him as well as hire him for any additional jobs I have in the future. read more

Did not chose them to do my electrical work. They provided me an extremely high proposal for simple work at my home. Obviously not interested in the smaller jobs, so they throw out unreasonable estimates. Very unprofessional. Beware to new customers to get 2-3 estimates before selecting an electrician. I selected an electrician that was 3 times less then the Modern Electric. read more

Shandon came to run a 240V line from our panel to our carport to install an EV charger. He installed the conduit running all across the side of the house but managed to tuck it discreetly behind the fascia so as not to affect the aesthetics of our home, all while keeping the end cost below what was quoted. If you're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and sees you through to the end with an iron fist, look no further. Shandon is the owner and he's who helped me during the whole process and he made it as painless as possible. You can tell when someone is good at what he does when he takes the time to show you how things work and enlighten you on the process. I needed a 220v outlet installed for an electric stove and needed my tankless water heater rewired and he did it like he was graded by God AND was the first to one to reach out to me on yelp when I posted the project. After living in our new home in Quail Creek for a year, we realized we needed to add some comfort and convenience items that required additional electrical service. I called Shandon at Modern Electric after seeing his A+ rating at the Better Business Bureau. He came to our home the same morning and gave us a fair estimate for the work needed and a convenient start date. Work included several new multi-gang outlets, a new 230v service for a mini-split heat pump, and replacement of a faulty wiring installation to the irrigation controller. Shandon proved to be personable, very knowledgeable, and his workmanship is first-rate. He was a pleasure to do business with and we will call him again when we need help with electrical issues. Shandon was quick to respond to my request for a temporary fix of my landscape lights. A wire was accidentally cut through by an installer for another project. Shandon completed the temporary fix at no charge since I decided to have him replace & upgrade the entire system. He was very reliable, professional & reasonable. Shandon & Anthony did an awesome job burying the lines and replacing all the gravel. Love the new lights but they were a little dimmer than expected. Shandon offered and replaced the bulbs for a brighter effect without charging me an additional fee. Super hard working nice guy. Highly recommend Modern Electric. read more
