We first had Boris out to give us an estimate on installing all new energy efficient lighting in our store, in compliance with the rebate that TEP was offering to small businesses. While the three other contractors we spoke with gave us bids between 7 and 10 thousand dollars, Boris gave us an estimate of around 20 thousand for the same job. Several months later, we had a power outage and needed an electrician in a hurry. We called Boris again, who showed up promptly with two men. As soon as they arrived, he left his guys alone and took off. They were extremely rude to my staff, did not explain what the electrical issue was, and after spending three hours just looking for the root of the problem, they could not determine the cause of the outage, did a cheap rewire that took them twenty minutes and $45 in parts. We just received a bill for $500, most of which is for all the time his rude employees spent looking for the problem. On top of all of that, one of our customers dropped his wallet in the parking lot right next to their work vehicle, and the wallet disappeared almost instantly. The electricians claimed they hadn't seen it, but after all of the horribly rude service we received, I wouldn't put it past them to have lied. I would NEVER recommend this company when there are so many others in town. Maybe the reason they're always available is because no one calls them for work. read more

Here is a quick break down * Always on time(!) * Work quickly and efficiently * Problem Solvers- they get the job done * They really actually mean it when they say customers satisfaction is their top priority (There was one instance but not the only that exemplifies this, I was unsure of how they wanted to run wires , and they went above and beyond to do it the way I wanted) They finished all projects very quickly , followed thru 100%, with affordable rates. Boris the owner, is extremely nice and polite. He is very traditional. He showed up at my door anytime I had a question. He came by every evening after work day to see the job was done correctly, and to make sure I was happy, not only when a payment was due. I will definitely have them do all my electrical work now. My problem started with a broken water main. I went with Cummings to fix problem and then found that I needed to replace a 30 gallon electric water heater. Cummings charged me 2200 bucks to replace water main. A bit pricey for short distance to street. started water heater process with Cummings. Through the process I found that I needed a new water heater. Cummings wanted 1865 to replace a 30 gallon electric water heater. wtf???? I found that ridiculous for a 30 gallon electric water heater. I decided to research on my own and bought my own water heater. I hired Sampsons to install water heater. They did a fantastic job. After that I needed to find an electrician. I came across Boris, the owner of American Electrical. He came out and gave a very fair bid and showed how other electrician was going to do work that was going to be a big rip off to change gauge of wire that was totally unnecessary. The name of that company was JW Shaffers. They said they would give me an estimate within 2 days. I called them a couple times and was promised a call back. To this day, never heard from them. It was then that I decided to use Boris. When day of job was supposed to happen, It was raining hard and they came a day late due to a much bigger job that was an emergency. He sent Eli and Abel. They stood in pouring rain and installed a junction box to make new electric water heater work. Sadly, it didn't work. They came back later in day and found that they installed power bar upside down, and apologized profusely Due to weather conditions, I totally understood. However, they came back later in same day and found a simple mistake they made. Within a few minutes it was fixed and have had perfectly tempered water. Eli, Abel & Boris are amazing guys. Even though they were working on an emergency call, they still came back to make sure that power worked and what a wonderful shower I had later that day! Awesome guys! Visiting quest at my best friend David's who handled whole problem. Looked hard and found the perfect guys. Can't recommend them enough! read more

Great group of electricians. I spoke with Boris, the owner of A American on Monday a.m. and by Tuesday at 2 p.m. my new electric water heater had power. Boris was polite, kept me informed of how soon he could come for the estimate and when he could start the job. I was pleased with every aspect of service. He and his crew were polite, timely, knowledgeable and hard working-even crawling through a small attic. I will use them again for any electrical job at my home and am so relieved to know there are contractors like A American Electrical Services. read more

I consulted and contracted A American to fix my retail store's backlit signs. I had the signs installed on an older building about 8 months ago, and one stopped working within a few weeks. Multiple trips from the sign company...they just kept replacing the ballast. Then, it would fry in a a day or two. Then, I scheduled an appt with another electrician on my own dime, and he called in sick on the day he was supposed to come. THEN, I hired another electrician (possibly unlicensed) to troubleshoot it...and it helped...for a few days. Then, the sign crapped out again. $500 down the drain. Meanwhile, my store had been open on Broadway with 55,000 people driving by a DAY, so maybe 20,000 at NIGHT...having a sign not working is BAD! FINALLY, I called American. Boris answered promptly and showed up to meet me at my store in about an hour. (I was amazed). This was on a Friday afternoon, and he said that they would be here Monday at 11 (when we open) to start work fixing the signs. Lo and behold, they were a few minutes early waiting for me on Monday. They found all kinds of shorts and problems and ended up rewiring everything top to bottom. They replaced the bulbs and fixed EVERYTHING. All I had to do was let them in the maintenance room. The price was a tiny bit higher than I was expecting (but not much), but he had 3 guys working on it for 2 days straight (which was more than we expected), and they troubleshot and found all the little problems and shorts that were screwing up my system. There were a LOT of problems...(sign company gets a BAD review) And it WORKS now, AND he has guaranteed his work for 5 years! Time is money is business, and having a sign that lights up like it is supposed to is worth a LOT of money. I highly recommend this electrical company. Timely, licensed, experienced, and WORTH every penny. I WISH I had called THEM earlier, instead of dealing with all the others. Boris and his team are very nice, show up on time, and DO THE JOB WELL. This is quite a well-run outfit. Boris, the company president, is a prompt and courteous, professional in every respect; a very knowledgeable and skilled, licensed electrician. He arrived at my property (an assisted-living facility) on the same day I phoned in for an estimate, quickly assessed my issue (a blown electric box, in need of replacement, as well as an upgrade in service), calculated my estimate in 3 seconds, and told me when the work would be completed. A American Electrical Services made good on all of the proposals: 1) The evaluation (and plan) - It certainly was not difficult to assess my situation. I had no power. The giant master switch on my 1960s box was burnt-up. TEP came to the property, cut the power, took down their meter and told me to get electrician to set-up service before they would return their meter and restore my service. That's easy. The hard part...and this is where the less-experienced fall short, is deciding what resources were needed to implement a plan, most important being "time and money." A American gave an accurate cost and completion time in our 2-minute face-time. The written estimate came later, but that is simply a formality. 2) A American's proposal was the 3rd estimate I called; cutting the 1st one by SEVENTY percent, and the 2nd one by over 40%! Mr. Electric and Sovereign Electric respectively. Why such a huge discrepancy?? I don't know, because I am not an electrician. My guess is probably some combination of dishonesty, inexperience, lack of knowledge/skill. All the things I would NOT hope for in a contractor for service Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend A American Electrical Services. 2-thumbs way-up. Boris! I've used A American Electrical Services twice now and both times they responded quickly, resolved the problem quickly and the billing was very fair. The most recent time I called when I noticed a series of plugs did not work, and when I flipped switches in the electrical box one made a sizzling burning sound. They came over that afternoon and had it fixed in an hour - and showed me why it happened. The previous time I used A American I was very impressed because I had already had a cable tv guy come out and paid a handyman and another electrician to find out why, when I turned on a cable tv box, the lights in that room would dim and flicker, and other times the electricity would just slow down with the ceiling fan slowing and lights dimming. The other electrician, the cable guy and the handyman did not resolve the problem, but A American did. They also charged me a reasonable fee to change out all of my fuses. If you have an electrical problem, I recommend skipping the step where you are tempted to call a handyman because you think it will cost less. Call a skilled electrician who might cost more by-the-hour but who can: A. Actually figure out what the problem is quickly, and B. Solve the problem quickly. Plus I like that both times I was followed up on with a phone call. Good job Boris and your field workers. read more

We have over 60 year old breakers in my complex so I figured it would be worth it to have someone come out and replace what I assumed was a bad breaker. Boris answered the phone and said he'd call back in an hour which he did and then he was here in 10 minutes. He had it all done in short order and answered a lot of questions I had about or complex's systems being so old. Not only very helpful but real old school friendly as well. He said he started in the trade right out of high school in 1976. The price for coming out and doing the work seemed to be about right and he was able to take credit card info so that I will receive my paid invoice in my email. 5 star all around. read more

Not only was he very knowledgeable, I could tell he genuinely cared about my safety. He gave me some pointers on how to stay as safe as possible while operating appliances until I can move into a new residence next week.
