Had an awesome time here! Took a road trip picking up my new motorcycle along the way, field is very small of course cause it's minor league but I felt like I was watching a hightail game due to the crowd. It wasn't energetic like most games I go to. It gave me the typical OC social club feel when I go to Angel games. lol no disrespect. But overall, good parking, relatively cheap food and the weather was perfect for baseball.
We visited Tempe Diablo Stadium for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. The parking was $10 and a short walk to the entrance. The stadium colors and field condition were both very nice. Visually, the place looks really cool, but there are issues. The building has a vintage design with little shade in all of the sitting areas, so a hat and sunscreen are both important. The seats are super tight making the experience claustrophobic. Try and get aisle seats because getting up from your seat and then returning is an inconvenience for the entire row. Consider buying tickets between first base and the foul pole. In this area, they have bench style seating that looked way more comfortable from a space perspective. Once you get to the concession and bathroom areas, again it is very tight and feels more packed than it really is. The service at the stadium was excellent. From the parking staff to the ushers to the concession workers, everyone was welcoming and very friendly.
Got tickets for a Saturday game and whoa was this place busy! Parking was a mess and we paid to park down the street for $25. We got our tickets scanned and made it on past the gates. This whole front entrance area was very congested and we were all walking shoulder to shoulder. We had lawn seats so we had to walk a way to get there. Once here, the lawn area was packed! We found a small spot towards the back, luckily in the shade, and we set our blankets down. During the second inning, two of us got up to get food. I ordered a bratwurst and my niece had a hot dog - paid $16. She then wanted a smoothie and that was $14. Don Julio was giving out free sunglasses and free shots for adults. The game was fun and we left towards the start of the 9th to avoid the madhouse. Angels won!
Tempe Diablo stadium is the Oldest stadium built in 1968 and renovated in 2005. Also the smallest spring training stadium at 9600 capacity centrally located within Tempe home to the Los Angeles Angels Team. Unlike other baseball stadiums, Angels are the only host at this stadium! Parking is ten dollars at this stadium. Plenty of parking. For disabled guest walk and ramp can be much. Food is carnival like. Drinks include alcohol and non alcohol. Something for everyone! Coming to this stadium, is like going to a college game. Let's play ball!
Hot. Expensive. Crowded. But what do you expect? The The Los Angeles of Orange County Angels of California of Anaheim will be doing Spring Training here through 2035. Remember: No firearms or deadly weapons, no smoking, no alcohol, no beverages (except 1 liter factory sealed plastic water), no full reusable water bottles, no cans, no glass (except Sandy Duncan's eye), no thermoses, no ice chests, no hard containers, no animals, no skateboards, no skates, no bikes, no resale of tickets, no grills, no beach balls, no signs unrelated to baseball, no signs in bad taste (so put away that "My Wife Smells Like Trout" sign), no overnight parking, no soliciting, no vehicles over 20 feet, no walking in aisles while the ball is in play, no recording, no drones, no food (unless is a clear, one-gallon bag, no unsliced fruit, no obscene clothes, no foul language, no CASH PURCHASES!, no lawn chairs, no backpacks, and no bags (except 12 x 12 bags with a single zipper, 13 x 13 clear bags). Oh, and no Shohei Ohtani.
Tempe Diablo has been around forever as the Spring Training home of the Angels. It's a solid park that embraces what it means to have a fun spring training experience. plenty of bathrooms and vendors with all different types of food and drink. It's relatively easy to access, parking lots galore but just make sure you don't park in a business area where it's prohibited- you will then be looking for your car after it's towed. A lot of the seats are in the sun which may be obvious, but a lot of people forget when they go to a baseball game, so make sure if you wanna be sitting in the shade the whole time you look at the stadium seating and when the game is to make sure you're in a shady spot, usually the higher up you are the shadier is it!
Perfect day to get out of the office and enjoy a game with friends! You work to live....not live to work....or something like that. Work-life balance always needs to be in check!
People tend to write reviews to share a positive or negative experience. I had both types of experiences while attending a Spring Training game. The negative: I bought tickets in Section 13 / Row F. Beware - there is virtually NO LEGROOM for seats in that row. The legroom in Rows E or G is adequate. The positive: a very helpful usher proactively approached us and offered us seats in a row with adequate legroom.
My family and I just recently attended the USA versus Angels last Thursday. Everything was good except for an incident with the stadium attendant. We sat in section 3 on the aisle side. We keep noticing this attendant kept walking up in down the aisle with a bag of balls. He was giving them away to several kids. My son saw him a row down from us so he tapped him in the shoulder and asked for a ball. The attendant turned around and said loudly "NO" you can not! then he offered another kid a ball. We didn't complained to anyone or the attendant. We just left it alone. I just can't forget about it. It felt so wrong how he treated my son. Racism is real and I feel that my son was mis treated because we are Latinos. This was our first spring training game and our last Angels game. We will not support Tempe Diablo StAdium ever game.
Like its "older brother" Angel Stadium, this ballpark is long overdue for replacement. The best part of the experience, besides the baseball is the friendly and helpful staff. I realize that a "brand new" ballpark does not necessarily make a better overall experience, by itself, but the design of TDS with its narrow single concourse and almost no shade from the Arizona sun creates extra crowded conditions. No one knows when or how we'll return to attending live baseball games, but when we do, I think we fans will want some options where were not packed in like sardines and to also have a comfortable experience when attending. That said, the views of the field are good from most anywhere. Sadly the view out to the outfield is very much the same as AS, with the main scenery being the freeway.
We've been coming to Tempe Diablo for years: solid ball park and always a fun time. Unlike other newer ball parks, however, TD suffers from challenging parking and cramped quarters. Main parking area is $5, and best to arrive at least an hour before game time. Otherwise, you're navigating industrial park for street parking. Narrow passageways in the park make for elbow-to-elbow transits to food/drink/memorabilia. Best to head to left-field sidelines for more open space and multiple food options. Lastly, seats are not kind to fat and/or tall Americans, and are best compared to really cramped airline seats. Otherwise, always a good time to go to TD for Spring Training. Cheers! RS
My husband plays in the Angels stadium every fall for the MSBL World Series. It's a beautiful stadium tucked up against a mountain. The stadium is nice and well maintained but the practice fields are another story. The practice fields are in terrible shape not kept up at all. In between games they don't pre the field correctly. There were huge holes at the home plate, big enough it looked unsafe the loss dirt isn't wet in field prep so it makes huge dust cloud and you miss plays because the dirt is so bad.

Nice cozy ballpark. Great sight lines. Lots of happy fans. Good snacks and drinks. Great friendly fans and staff. Parking was easy and inexpensive. I think I need to do this every year! read more
This is the third spring training stadium I've been to since I moved to Arizona. The stadium is relatively old, and I think the concession area design can be better, but overall, the staff is very friendly. I would definitely think the stadium can use some renovations read more
Top notch stadium, facility, area, and parking. Very convenient. Prices are good. Very reasonable. Staff is very friendly. My son got 13 autographs including photos with players. I really enjoyed the location and convenience of everything. It was intimate and lots of fun. read more

Not exactly a premier stadium you'd want to chill out at for spring training. I found the amenities for coming to a game here probably the worst in the Cactus League. A truly outdated relic of what stadiums were like 35 years ago. Yet the Valley of The Sun and home of the Cactus League for Major League Baseball this stadium has scene better days and nights. It's time to tear down these walls Artie and build a first class stadium for the ANGELS like the other teams play ball in. It's time for an upgrade to a modern field with parking, not only for the team but THE FANS! So let's discuss parking first. Most of the parking is in an industrial park and you'll 3 to 5 block journey begins. Now having elderly parents I'm offended by the parking situation. Once I made it into the stadium well let's just say the leg room factor is nada.. You'll either bang your knees sliding into your seat or step on everyone's feet. Your body is so cramped in the seat you wish you had slummed it and brought a towel and laid on the grass in the outfield. Food well it's ball park food so you either love it or hate it, I'll leave that for your taste buds. However beer is plenty full to enjoy on a hot day so drink up... Well, if you read what I said and still desire to go , then it's on you! This is my game experience and I'm sticking to it. AND GO DODGERS read more
It doesn't get much better than this. To be able to see the heart of Angels team in a setting like this is such a wonderful experience. Diablo isn't as nice as Camelback but it's a smaller stadium so my view from similarly priced seats was quite a bit better here in Tempe. Plenty of concession stands all over the stadium. Easy access to restrooms but they are smaller than Camelback and not kept up quite as well. Handicapped access is more difficult if you require that due to a large staircase leading to the main entrance. You need to go around the side of the stadium in order to access ramps leading into the stadium. They do have golf carts to assist those with limited mobility to take you back and forth from the parking lot. The stadium staff is extremely friendly and helpful so don't be afraid to ask for assistance if you're not familiar with how things work here. Most of the seats are in the sun for day games with limited seating in shady spots, at least for the first few hours so bring sun block. It's only late February today but it was plenty hot already. Check the MLB website if you need information regarding what you can bring with you into the stadium or miscellaneous information regarding autographs, access to batting practice, etc. if you love baseball or even just LIKE baseball, you should make the journey to watch the pre-season games and gain a new perspective & appreciation for this much loved American pastime. read more

Meh. The good.................. - Free parking. Not sure if we scored it or what, but we drove up right to the front of the gates, drove in, and found a spot about 500 feet from the entrance. It looked like a "valet" area, but we were able to score a spot, and nobody was there collecting money for parking. - Nice entrance up to the stadium with the stairs and cool sign out front. - Decent smattering of Angel fans who really like baseball. - Right off the freeway, very easy to get to. The bad................... - Clusterf#*#* of a "promenade". Right when you walk in, you are bombarded with nowhere to walk. Their "standing room only" section behind home plate and along the baselines are literally right in the area where people walk. They have a painted line on the ground stating where you can/can't stand. People buck up to that line to watch the game, thus leaving only a small area to actually walk by. If you are claustrophobic, you will not enjoy walking into this stadium. - Ticket prices. Technically, I got these for "free" through a work rewards program, but even then, they were more costly than other stadiums. SRO tickets were $21.00 I believe, and that is pretty steep. - Minimal shade. For most of the game, we hung out under the beer tent just for the shade. The last 2 innings we went down to our "seats" and even then, still in the sun. Overall, meh. Too much of a cluster, too hot, too expensive. Glad I saw the stadium once, but I am not coming back. read more
This is a decent spring training baseball stadium but in need of some updating for sure. From what I've read it hasn't been updated for many years and it shows. The views around the stadium of the mountains are phenomenal also. The pros-not a bad seat in the place. No matter where you sit you'll have a good view. The even offer lawn seating where people spread out on blankets to enjoy the game. The ushers and vendors are friendly and prices are average for most items (not all, see below). People were nice and there were fans from so many teams represented, not just the Angels and Cubs, which was cool to see! The cons- the bleacher type seating is painful. While it's great they have backs it seriously hurts your bum! The food choices are limited and pretty much basic ball park fare, don't expect a lot of the new aged options you see at the MLB parks. The alcohol prices are outrageous, $12 for a beer! Back home at Comerica Park a beer is $9 and that's a major MLB stadium! read more
I came here for an Angels Spring Training game and had a great time! This was the first time that I had been to Tempe Diablo Stadium and I was very impressed! I loved all of the flowers in the front, they were gorgeous! It does get quite toasty out there so definitely be sure to bring sunscreen, a hat, and any sun protection gear of choice! My shoulders got quite red! :) Parking is $5 so be sure that you have cash, otherwise you can park alongside streets a few blocks away! The good news is that there was plenty of parking, even for a sold out crowd! They had a decent amount of food options. I got chicken tenders, fries and a sprite for $15 but I must say, they gave me a TON of food {like 8 BIG tenders!}! I shared with my friends and we still didn't finish it all. I will definitely come back again! read more

I've been to multiple stadiums, and this one was very small! It was difficult to find the entry to the parking lot too. Without a reliable GPS system in the car, there was absolutely no way of finding the entrance. You end up zig zagging throughout a strange industrial area with road closures and narrow streets. It seems sketchy and then you are dumped into the entry way for the parking lot of this stadium. Just weird! read more

Every year around spring training I seem to watch a game on TV where some asshole is sitting in the 80 degree sun drenched outfield grass section with a beer. Its usually raining here at that time. I curse him up one side and down the other. I have not even met his mother but she gets a little bit of bad mouthing too. This spring training, I am that asshole. (But please don't talk about my mama) My first introduction is being 5 minutes away out of a 40 min drive and realize i forgot the tickets. No worries. I bought them on line and a guy named Brian in the ticket office saved my butt a long drive back to get them. He reprinted after he asked if I bought them online. I did and he checked it out and i was good to go. You saved my trip and my experience to this ball park. I appreciate you. The stadium is small in comparison to major league parks and I loved it. The staff is made up primarily of retired folks and they could not be nicer. The lines go a little slower because they BS and make jokes. It's all good. Loved it. Except the 70+ year old man that was trying to take a run at my girl. Back it up old man. I will push you down. Its all fun and games until someone breaks a hip. Food is better than big league parks in LA and beer is way cheaper too. Everyone seems to really enjoy the Cactus league when it comes to town. I had a great time and if my girl can promise to behave in the future, I will take her back with me. Either way, I'm going. read more
A hot day in AZ in March, but our seats were awesome. They were located behind the upper home plate. This was a blessing for us since it was so hot. Shade by about the 3rd inning. There were some people watching from the hill located next to the stadium for free. I call this "Tight Wad Hill", lol. A lot of LA Dodger fans attended this game. read more
I came here for Spring Training (GO Angels!) with my family. The stadium itself is fabulous. Great size, lots of grass area for the cheaper tickets. Just bring a blanket and sunblock, and you're good to go! We came earlier than the game start time, so we had an opportunity to tailgate for a bit. The lot appeared to become quite crowded after some time, so I'm not sure that parking is plentiful. The staff were great, and allowed us to drink/eat in the lot. The only problem was that there are NO available restrooms/port-a-potties outside of the stadium. So unless you have an RV with you, you can't drink too much - otherwise, you're not going to have a place to take a leak. I did see several men taking trips behind a large cargo bin at the edge of the lot, but certainly no women. My sister-in-law and I had to shmooze some of the TV crew to let us use their own special port-a-potty because there was no other option. Aside from that ordeal, the stadium is roomy, clean, and sells plenty of food and booze. The views are beautiful, and the vibe is awesome. Looking forward to making this an annual trip! read more
