Visiting spring training for the 1st time and this ballpark was top of my list. Being a newer park, it was clean and beautiful. I enjoyed the layout and fan activities. There really is no bad seat. The smaller ballparks provide an up close experience at a more affordable price point than during the season. I will definitely return to this park for another cubs game! read more

This review of Sloan Park is for Breakaway Festival, a two-day EDM festival that was held on the grounds. While you could pay for parking at the venue, I'm not about that life, so I found parking in the residential neighborhood that's close to the Park. It took me about 10-15 minutes to walk over. First off, let's talk about the main purpose of Sloan Park: spring training for the Chicago Cubs. I know spring training is a big deal in Phoenix, but I was impressed with how nice this stadium is. It may not have the history of Wrigley Field but it's a super nice venue. As far as the festival experience, everything was smooth. The grounds were well maintained, getting in and out was relatively easy, and I didn't run into any issues. Exactly what you're looking for when you attend a music festival. I'll have to stop by for a spring training game next time around! read more

Doing tourist things and Sloan was on the list of to-do's .....Great place to catch a game! Not a bad seat in the house in my perspective. The food stations had a variety of menus and pricing wasn't expensive.. The beverage stands both adult and kid friendly had reasonable prices and I was pleasantly surprised. The parking is super close to the main gate - I am in firm belief that the overall planning and logistics of this stadium are professionally done and handled well! What a fun time at Sloan Park. Recent transplants from Chicago, we had to catch Cubs vs. Sox during spring training. This game was nearly sold out. Our section was filled with Indiana people, which was fun. How often do you sit next to people from Fort Wayne and Crown Point. Which is great to me since I used to spend summers in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis as a kid. Anyway, clean stadium. Lots of Chicago food. My husband grabbed an Italian Beef, they tried to make it wet (dipped) but not the true Chicago style, probably for sanitary reasons. I got a Chicago dog to include celery salt. All the true Chicagofood here. Only thing I didn't see was a Pizza Puff. We really enjoyed our time here. Recommend on busy games that you take advantage of parking at Riverview or Tempe Marketplace. One it is free, and two it was easy to get out. Very fun first full weekend back in AZ. White Sox's crushed the Cubbies and we had a nice day enjoying the sunshine. Big bonus to this stadium for allowing you bring a water and small snacks. We had our water and some pretzel to keep our stadium food cost lower. Went to the Cub's 2026 Spring Trainer opener against the Chicago White Sox. We parked in the Mesa Riverview Shopping Center and took the free shuttle to the park. After the game we ended up walking to our car, since there is only one shuttle and the wait can be up to 30-40 minutes, more time than the walk. Sloan Park is a beautiful park, and has many features similar to Wrigley, including dimensions and food! It is not an inexpensive experience , tickets, food, drinks and merchandise are not cheap, but it is a great experience. read more

So I didn't come to Sloan Park for a baseball game. I was here helping out for the 2026 Mesa Marathon and what fun it was. There were tons of volunteers and vendors talking with the over 10k runners that came out this year to run. The event organizers had an everything well organized and was executed well. Everyone was really nice and polite. By the looks of this stadium it's well maintained and kept really clean. My next step at some point is to co.e back for a spring training game with all of this beautiful weather that Mesa has to offer. read more

This review is solely for the team store. Let's be for real right now - as a lifelong Cubs fan not only have prices and the experience gone up exponentially but so has the merchandise. What used to be what would be considered an affordable experience especially for a family is now an expensive outing. I did not attend a game this time at Sloan. I was across town at Surprise watching them lose against the Texas Rangers. However, I did stop by the team store because I was looking for something specific and I wasn't expected to be in Chicago anytime soon. Aside from the merchandise being very basic including the spring training items. All of the items are excessively expensive. 30+ dollars for a basic T-shirt 50+ dollars for a hat. Now, I'm by myself so imagine a family of four going in there to purchase some merch to support their team that could be several hundred dollars. That's my biggest complaint. Hopefully someone will read this. Customer service is very nice. Do you want to mention that. It's a little tricky to get over there on a game day. I believe I entered the Rio salado streets and then was directed to the parking lot directly in front of the team store because I did not need to pay for parking as I was not staying for the event. Oh, and by the way, parking was $12. It was free across town at the Texas Rangers Stadium in Surprise. Will I come back? Probably to see a game. But I might just end up saving my experience when I'm back in Southern California or back in Chicago. I don't expect my review to have any impact on the pricing levels, but it should be noted that merchandise and/or an experience at Sloan Park or even Wrigley is going to end up pricing out a lot of people. read more

First of all- Go WHITE SOX! Had a great time at spring training. The stadium was clean, easy to get around, and overall just a really fun atmosphere. We decided to park off-site since the stadium parking felt a little steep, and that worked out totally fine. Concession prices were about what you'd expect at a ballpark (no surprises there), and ticket prices were actually pretty reasonable. All in all, a really good experience and a fun day at the park. Was able to watch a game here and had a great time. The Cubs prospect team was playing the Angels prospect team and it was great. Cubs won! It was open seating for GA so we picked a spot on the far left of the field. Here we were entertained by the jumbo screen and the kids body slamming each other for the flyway balls out on the grass. Bought a bag of kettle corn for $10 and the worker was nice. Security and police were all over the premises so we felt very safe. Shuttle service from Riverview must've not been running on this day because we stood at Riverview along with 40 other people and it never showed up. We ended up leaving after the game had already started. We ended up finding a spot at the park and walking over to Sloan instead. We did check online for any shuttle update but none was posted. read more

First time to Sloan Park, not the last. Nestled in W. Mesa, we arrived right in the thick of Spring Training. Sloan Park is the home of the Cubs Spring Training. Although less than half of the size of Wrigley, you can still feel the love for the game here as much as Clark and Addison. You have plenty of Cubby fans, local beers, Chicago dogs, Taste of the Windy City, and ... when the occasion arises, Clark flies the big W banner here. We parked in the general admission lot in front of the Courtyard Marriott and walked over and entered via the right outfield entrance. Along the way we passed the Cubs Store, and the Spring Straining Marquee. The bathrooms are clean, the beer men are readily available and engaging. The travelling concessions make frequent passes, as do the folks pushing the 50/50. WARNING: Concessions will be charging airport prices! As with anywhere We got seats right behind home plate. My daughter was amazed at everything she could here, between the zipping of the pitches, the pop of the catchers mitt, or the crack of the bat. We were saved by the net a few times, but it was very safe and the fans around us were super cool. If you can get there early, you should do so to avoid the parking situation. The parking is organized but moves slowly because of the congestion, but it moves...of course, if you get in the wrong line , you may have to circle again. If we come tomorrow we will try to take the shuttle from the shopping center. It was fun. My kids enjoy following this team and enjoy watching the players and singing during the 7th Inning stretch. After the game we walked over to the outfield lawn and hung out there while the kids tossed the ball around. Smiles all around. We recommend. read more

Who doesn't love baseball?! Went again for Spring Training last night to enjoy it. Parking is SURELY a nightmare, no matter when you arrive, so plan accordingly. I parked towards the back by the office building, which wasn't too horrible. Inside the park, expect crowds and pricey treats. But if you weren't expecting that, here's your notice. 2 hot dogs, 2 drinks, and, 1 order of fries cost me $45!! Other than fans forgetting how to act in public, our experience at Sloan was amazing. My team didn't win but we were close to the field and saw a great game. Prices are up there, but I guess it's up there everywhere. Don't go thinking you're getting spring training prices, it's still MLB pricing. Staff was fine, much better than they were in 2017. They have mellowed and evened out since then. Restrooms were clean and well-stocked. The beer was cold and the dawgs were hot. read more

Great venue for a baseball game. Staff was excellent and the park felt much less crowded than a game at Wrigley. A mellow, sunny atmosphere. However, the pricing is obscene. The concession prices ($7 for a bottle of water, $18 for a "large" "premium" beer) are unreasonable for an exhibition game wherein the Cubs are usually missing several starters. (I understand that that's the nature of Spring Training- just don't charge me Wrigley prices). NOTE: if you're the type of fan who geeks out at getting an up close look at major leaguers doing routine baseball drills (like me!), by all means check out the practice fields in the morning, around 9 or 10. read more

I've never been to a Cubs Spring training game, but I've been here in the surrounding roads and parking lots for the Mesa Marathon. I have found that the grounds are kept in very good condition each time that I'm here. So even if I've never made it inside the park, it's still a nice venue for the finish line of a marathon and the post race celebration. read more

We recently came here for Spring Training and it was opening day. This was our first time at Sloan Park but we have been to a few other stadiums so we kind of plan to visit them all in Phoenix. Overall it's a nice stadium. Here's my take: Parking - D - It's $12 bucks to park and the lot isn't exactly nearby so there is a walk to the stadium although they have vendors in rickshaws there will pick you up for a fee, or you can pay $20 for VIP parking next to the stadium Food/Drinks - B - They go heavy on the Chicago Dogs here, so almost every food stop had one. They had some food trucks out in centerfield if the Chicago dog is not your thing. Atmosphere - A - The employees here were all friendly including the ushers and bartenders. The stadium is modern and all the seats were good seats. Most of the infield seats were in the shade during an afternoon game. We are fortunate here in Arizona to be one of two states that hosts MLB spring training games. Sloan Park has been home to the Chicago Cubs since 2014 and is the newest of all the spring training facilities in the Cactus League. It is also the largest spring training stadium in Arizona. The Cubs have been practicing in Arizona since the 1950s and have a huge fan base here in the Valley. Several popular Chicago restaurants have opened up in Arizona with a couple of them like Portillo's and Lou Malnati's being just a few miles from Sloan Park. This is one of the nicer ballparks in Arizona. Sloan Park features a red marquee sign that mimics the famous sign on the front of Wrigley Field in Chicago. The food is a variety of Chicago cuisine favorites. They serve plenty of alcohol with a couple of large bar areas in the outfields and beer vendors walking around everywhere. For me, Spring Training is all about the lawn seats. I like to grab a hot dog and a beverage and camp out on the grass and enjoy the spring weather. I love the relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to see your favorite players in a more chill environment. There is parking around the stadium. You can also park at nearby Mesa Riverview and either walk over or take the free shuttle that drops you off near the park. Sloan Park hosts Arizona Fall League games and other events like concerts and food festivals. There are plenty of places to eat near the stadium at Mesa Riverview, Tempe Marketplace or in the Asian District. Sadly spring training has become so popular that MLB has made it a cash grab by jacking up the ticket prices. Not that long ago, lawn seats use to be $5-$10 for these practice games. It was also easier to get an autograph from a ballplayer. Now players are less accessible and lawn seats will run you $30 or more. I still go because I love baseball and have been following the sport for years. But I feel for large families with kids and how much they have to pay to come to these games. Even though I am not a Cubs fan, I have many friends from Chicago here in Arizona and respect their team and its long history. I have been to Wrigley Field in Chicago and even took a tour of it. I find Cubs fans less annoying than Dodger or Yankee fans. I have caught a number of games here at Sloan Park with some of my Chicago buddies. Here is to another great season of baseball! It's a great park to see a baseball game. We saw the Savannah Bananas play the Crazy Animals. We sat on the lawn and it was a bit far away but it was easy to move around and people were in great moods. We had the yummy chocolate covered banana truck close by and also the lobster truck. There was a nice bar and bathroom right up from where we sat. It was not easy getting out of the parking lot. That was the only down fall. Love to return sometime. read more

Had a great experience at the ballpark today. I arrived a very shortly after the game already started and got through the gate right away. I was really impressed with the staff. Everyone was very helpful in helping me find my party location and was so engaging and friendly!! I got some Birria style tacos that were pretty impressive for stadium food. Highly recommend. I also got a cute and tasty drink in a souvenir mason jar. Our party was on the Budweiser rooftop lounge. My only complaint would be that a lot of the tables were missing umbrellas. Like they were cut off the table? Not sure what the intention is to remove them as they are super useful on hot sunny days like today. But everything else made for a great experience. read more

Sloan Park has got to be one of the nicest ballparks I've ever ever been to. This is the Cubs spring training facility. Parking is a little confusing and a lot of the streets are down to one lane there's a lot of traffic during game days. There are ways to spend $10 for parking, but you do have to drive down past the hotel complex, you will park in the grass but it's very organized and you could only pay by credit card. There are parking lots for $25 across the street but it's not worth it in my opinion for $25 because it's not a long walk from the $10 lot either. Facility wise. This is a extremely upgraded and clean park. There's plenty of lawn seating. It's very comfortable and green. There are so many food places here that you can go. Crazy eating all day. So definitely come hungry. I don't know if this is something they do All the time but there were about 6 to 7 food trucks around the perimeter of the lawn seats so you don't have to eat the expensive hotdogs you can have some unique food and save a little bit of cash too, and have a great time doing it. I did try the Birria tacos which were amazing and they were $12.99 for three of them. Highly recommended. As far as the fan shops, there's about three or four of them. There's one very large one and there will be a line to get inside. But definitely go shop for what you need first because the sizes run out really quick. They usually end up with a lot of smaller mediums by the end of the day. As far as the seats go, their standard, ballpark, stadium seats, but every seat has a great view no matter what. It's so close to the field. It makes you feel like you're in the game. And I love the fact that the players don't look like ants on the field. They look like actual people looking right at you. You can check out their face and feet features and looks like they're standing next to you because it's so close to the players. I think the staff here were super friendly everywhere from security, to the ticketing agents, to the concessions, to the store, employees, to even those that were selling the 50-50 raffle tickets. read more

What a beautiful spring training park! No bad seats in the house! What stood out the most was the employees! WOW! From the gate entrance to the food/beverage stands and carts, every single employee was so friendly and seemed genuinely happy to serve the customer. Only complaint was the burning hot seat in the sun LOL.. but I'm definitely not going to complain about that being a perfect 80 degree sunshiny day! Parking was $10 right at the field, an easy 5 min walk, or you could hop on one of the bike chariots. Such a fun way to get there instead of a bus full of people from a far away field. Some did park across the road for free and walk a bit further. We didn't make any of the other spring training fields, but I cannot imagine any being any nicer than this! read more

Hands-down, the best spring training stadium. For several reasons, this has become our go to spot to watch spring training games when visiting Arizona. First being the location, and how close it is to Tempe, which is where we prefer to stay when visiting for spring training. Second, because of the location, the drive and parking situation is really not bad, and they have it worked out pretty well. You can also Uber to and from the game. And if the parking lot is packed after the game, you can walk to the hotel, which is nearby and get a drink while you wait. The actual stadium is laid out really nice. You can do a full circle and there are fun activities at every turn. You can take a picture with the large Marquee, and get a personalized with your family's name which is a great keepsake year after year. The different team stores are a lot of fun and packed with new cactus league and Cubs branded gear every year. They also have the best selection of food. The Polish sausages, the hotdog stands, Mexican, chicken, anything you could possibly ask for. There is a full bar in the outfield, if you were trying to get some thing that other than beer. They also have a full kids station, with miniature field and wiffleball that the kids can go play and take an at bat. If you can only visit one game during spring training, I highly recommend this venue. read more

Everything is pristine since it's only ten years old. It's a Cubs stadium, so the production is impressive, as are the crowds and the prices. Sightlines are fantastic, and it's just a beautiful park and great place to see a game. If I were to deduct it would be the $20 you'll pay for parking. Have been to 4 games at Sloan over the past week. With the 100+ degree temps, I was concerned with staying hydrated and brought an empty Yeti container to fill through out games. Brought in empty to game 1 and filled as necessary throughout the game. Dispensed water was somewhat warm. Game 2 arrived with the Yeti filled with ice only. Was happy to open the Yeti when entering the park to demonstrate ice only in the container. Security rep stated I must throw the ice out. After complying but questioning the policy, another rep escorted me in the gates and provided me with ice. Very nice man! Game 3 arrived with the Yeti empty and noticed ice in a cup provided to a customer at a concession stand. Requested this also while purchasing other snacks and rep provided with a smile. Returned for game 4 today with Yeti carried in empty. Visited a concession and purchased snacks while also requesting ice. Concession rep denied the ice request. Walked away from the stand only to notice another customer with a cup of ice given to her at the other end of the same concession stand?? While this may seem petty, given the extreme weather, Sloan personnel should be given clear direction on policy. Mixed messaging makes it a challenge to prepare. And perhaps Sloan consider providing ice in 100 degree + conditions to help keep cool the thousands of $10 bottles of water they sell. You can do better Sloan including Mr R. read more
