I love going to Stampede. There's a really fun vibe and I love watching all the talented dancers do the line dances. I also enjoy when they play easier numbers like Cotton Eyed Joe, Cupid Shuffle, the Wobble, etc. Their freestyle time is super fun too and they play more pop and hip hop music rather than country. However, they definitely have some areas they need to improve upon. Their bathrooms are atrocious--always covered with trash, the doors don't lock well, the hand dryers never all work, and last time one of the sinks was clogged. Also the last time I was there, the AC was broken or something in the women's restroom so it was really hot and humid. Certain bartenders refuse to give you a free cup of water and instead will charge you $3 for a water bottle which I find a little insulting. However, one bartender, Lisa is always very accommodating and friendly! She's our favorite! Overall Stampede is a fun place to go, and my friends and I will definitely be back! read more

My husband and i attended the music festival June 26, 2021. First day was a blast, the young lady at the front scanned our tickets off our phone and proceeded to place a VIP band on our arms. Never told us to take off or that once you tighten it it wouldn't loosen back up. After going home that evening my band was to tight on my arm so I cut the band off assuming I could receive a new one the next day. My husband and I arrive on June 27, 2021 to be treated with such disrespect from the manager and the staff. Long story short they kicked us off their property even after explaining the situation. I feel they thought we were scamming them and the manager said he trusts the employee over us because she said she had made it very clear to everyone entering to leave your band on for the following day (which she did not), We had our receipt that was in our names, friends that would back our story. There was no disrespect in the conversation till the bouncers surrounded us as if we were going to fight. No need to have been treated like that since we are two respectful individuals under no alcohol or drugs! My husband and I are local business owners and If we treated our customers like this we would go out of business. The manager left me in tears after the police got involved. We have NEVER been treated this way and I would hate for anyone else to have to go through what we did. I found out that other friends had done the same thing with their wrist bands and they gave them new ones. There is so much more to the story and I want the owners to know that we tried calling them but they wouldn't take our call. You have a lot of glitches going on within your establishment and if you care to know give me a call. This place is the worst trash bar ever. My friends and I paid to get in but we decided to venture out because we've never been to Temecula. We asked if we were able to re enter with our wristbands. They said yes so we came back around 12:30 and they accused us of being too intoxicated and refused to let us in. We were all coherent and there was no reason for us to be denied entry. Let me start off here by saying I am 39 (in two weeks) and single... and yes, I think it matters for this place :) I went with a few girlfriends last night to Stampede for an early birthday celebration... we live in mid Orange County, and even on a Saturday night there was a lot of traffic on the 91 and 15... so it took us a good hour and a half to get down there. We went early, to avoid the $10 cover charge, and only pay $5. Got up to the door, and went to hand the bouncer by money, and he said "ID". Gave him my ID, he said, "RIGHT HAND". Gave him my right hand, so he put on an over 21 bracelet. He said, "PAY TO THE RIGHT". I scooted to the right, like one does in the line at the soup nazi, and paid two very unfriendly girls my $5. The place is huge, which is awesome. We found a table in the back by a pool table and bar. We bellied up to the one bar that was open back by the front door, and the bartender pointed out happy hour was over in 1 minute, and Bacardi and Diet which I ordered was 1/2 off, and did I want 2. YES PLEASE! I love that she offered that, and for $5 I was on my way with my two drinks. She poured well, and my drinks were good. The bar where we were sitting opened at 8:30. Well, 8:40 when he was ready for us. The drinks over there tasted weird... but the bartender did make a really good Pineapple Upside Down Cake shot. The music started playing (After the dance lessons, which you have to pay for - which I really think is crazy)... and the place started filling up. It was almost impossible to talk to my friends, no one could hear anyone... and the place was EXTREMELY young. It is 18 and over, and a lot of hands had the big black X on them, for being under 21. There are a lot of service men there, which I think is great. I just dont think if you are over 23 or so, and single its the place to be. The younger crowd was having a blast, dancing with others their age. I did learn the 2 step and the 10 step and that was fun... I just think its meant for a much younger crowd - unless you are there with a date, and love to dance - and dont really care about anything else. In the end I had 6 drinks and 2 shots, and left without a buzz. It happens though, could have just been an off night, because the drinks were not watered down (In the beginning at least, the back bar served a little weaker drink it seemed) We left around 10:30 or 10:45, the front was lined with taxi cabs and there were two police officers outside watching us like hawks. We had a designated driver, so I wasnt worried about it, but it was intimidating and a little rude. Stampede is really strict on IDs and they have a lot of security walking around constantly, its good. The restrooms, could stand to have the stall a little larger... the toilet seat is pretty much right up to where the door opens so its challenging getting in and out, and a lot of the doors dont lock well. I've been a regular at this bar for almost 4 years now and I've seen their fair share of different djs....but on 07/21/2022 they brought in a new DJ and he was the ABSOLUTE WORST!!! He didn't play any country music whatsoever, didn't play any actual songs but a bunch of random remixes, didn't know any line dances or line dance songs. The food is pretty good and the service is excellent!! Lots of security and the dj (Kermi) is awesome! My only setback is when the dance instructor "Adia" is teaching on her Friday lessons. She doesn't seem to be able to read the type of dancers that come on fridays... treats it like she's got all night for three lessons. The other instructors seem to get these three lessons done by 9pm. The last time "Adia" taught she took until about 10 pm before her last lesson began. When she's teaching there in the future, my group of dancers and I will have to find another establishment to attend as we don't prefer to dance into the next day. i literally love dj kermie. he's a lot of fun and he definitely WANTS to make sure you're having a good time. he's literally the sweetest. stampede is just a whole vibe, i feel like i've become part of a family. and let me tell you i have not had a bad experience with any of the guards. there's one guard there named moe and she's a blessing. i had an issue with a guy there once and she had my back and helped me with moving to a space where i was comfortable and safe till they could remove him because he was causing issues with a couple other women. of you meet her, she's great. everyone's really nice and cool as long as you really respect them and are pretty chill. read more

I'm not too thrilled about this spot being 18 and up. Plus, there's a $10 cover? WTF? I tried getting drunk so that I could enjoy the spot but I had been drinking all day at the wineries. I know I will always be able to learn a new line dance or even get some of my favorite classic dances played. After paying $45 dollars for entrance fees and $50 dollars for drinks the bouncer then decided to come up to me and give me a problem about my expired ID when it was not a problem at the front. I didn't order drinks with this ID and was bombarded with 4 men bouncers questioning me and my ID and why I was there. It was not a problem when I came in but became one after I spent $100 on non alcoholic drink and entrance fees. I was then kicked out without a refund. I've been coming to Stampede for over 3 years now and man has it changed for the better!! They have a lot of new security who are actively engaged in making sure everybody is safe, and A new DJ who is INCREDIBLE (he plays mostly requests so anybody saying he "doesn't know his clientele" clearly doesn't know what they are talking about). The sound system and lights have been redone to really make it feel like a whole new bar. Female bathrooms were also updated! Friday nights started getting pretty slow and used to be not as much fun as a Thursday night, but now, since the new DJ started, that place is popping Thursday-Saturday!! Don't go here unless you like to be treated like shit by staff. I have been here twice and each time, we have some miserable female "security guard" who doesn't care about other girls safety. All she does is yell at girls in the bathroom who are CLEARLY trying to pee. She started banging on the stall telling me to get out for no reason and when I asked her a simple question while she was in the "kitchen" area of the bar, she yelled at me that she doesn't work in the kitchen and walked away. Instead of pointing me in the right direction, she just yelled at me instead. The girls next to me witnessed her behavior and told her their poor interactions with her as well and how she yelled at her in the bathroom for cleaning the toilet seat before sitting down. I miss how it used to be. more country than ass shaking. where everyone helped all the newcomers to learn the dances while it was going on. the calling out about people who need to go off the dance floor because they don't know the dance isn't cool because then how do they learn? its said to be a country bar. but these days the dj has taken it to more of an ass shaking club and it's not the same and it's not as fun. I love this place the Bartenders are cool..my favorite person is thier DJ KERMIE, when he is not around these others just don't prepare...his sets are amazing and he knows how to get the crowd going when he isn't there it's just not the same! The music is always on point he plays the best songs out there,great with requests and also some flashbacks from the past,he knows when to hype up the crowd at just the right time! Used to go every Thursday with a group of friends and some Saturdays. So much line dancing and fun! Went last week and saw the new look as I hadn't been in a while. "Freestyle hour" that they used to do turned into freestyle NIGHT. Hardly any line dancing songs anymore. I was there for hours and maybe did 5 line dances, and two of them were the same dance. I went with friends who have gone for years as well and the first thing we noticed was how the whole dance floor was jam packed and looked like a high school dance with people grinding all over each other. Now I'm not a prude, but this is so unfortunate because we loved the way it was before. I've seen the responses that it's a country bar until 8pm and changes after, but that means it's only line dancing for 2 hours, and then just a club after that? Really unfortunate. 95% of my friends have already said they won't waste their money there anymore. I'm only giving two stars because one of the bartenders from before the change replaced my drink for me because I noticed some guys lingering by my drink while I was dancing close by. read more

I was here sometime in January. In fact, I stayed in Temecula for a night just to come to this place. Yes, I got a hotel in this town when I could have gone to more exotic locales such as San Diego or Las Vegas specifically to come to this place. You see, I used to be a regular at line dancing clubs in the past and I had fond memories of the Stampede. I had a few spirited line dancing sessions. We did the Crank It Up with Colt Ford, shook it to the Country Girl Shake, and I even deigned to keep the early warm up going with a slow electric slide. Basically, it was setting up to be a great night. All the old classics were there. The two steps were short and the dance floor wasn't very dense - just the way I like it. We were set to do everything but the Hokey Pokey. Then, between dance sessions, as is my custom in nightclubs, I decided to talk to a few women. Yes, I do have conversations with people at nightclubs, some of them women. Scandalous, misogynistic, lascivious, prurient, salacious, OUTRAGEOUS - I know, I know, I'm a horrible, no good, very bad person. Well, not two dance sessions in, the DJ plays "Friends in Low Places" after a very short couple of line dances. "How odd!" I think. That's the song they play at the end of the night, not at the beginning. I should have known it was a trap - no DJ just plays "Friends in Low Places" out of the blue. It's a statement; it's an omen. As I was walking off the dance floor, security came up to swarm me and demanded that I surrender my ID like an angry mob out for blood. I was led out for the crucifixion, paraded like some captive bear by a procession of security personnel. Outside, I was taken to a dark spot with all the members of the security team watching me, where I was interrogated by a short man in dark clothes with a black hat obscuring his face. The boy says to me "We got a complaint. Someone said you harassed them, so we're going to remove you from this here establishment. We want you out!" "Well, what was the nature of this harassment?" "Not telling. Tee-hee. You just have to leave." "I don't consider bland conversations with women to be harassment. But all right, it's your place. Can I get a refund? I was only here for like 20 minutes and you're kicking me out for no reason." "NO REFUNDS. And this isn't your first offense, so double NO." "But I've been out of the country for 3 years. How could there be prior complaints against me?" "Uhh, Uhh..................... Are you sure?" "I think I know where I've been, bre." Now, I know there are many people out there who take a "the bouncer is always right" approach to nightclubs. And I understand you. There are some people who behave inappropriately when drunk at nightclubs. I wasn't drunk. "Well, surely you were..." Cat-calling? No. Sexual conversations? Nope. Making obscene gestures? Too complicated. Leering? Got better things to do. Behaving rudely when rejected? Plenty of fish in the sea - no need to take such unnecessary risks. Overstaying my welcome? Wouldn't dream of it. Touching? I don't even shake hands. And I caught this kid in a lie. Unless someone remembers me from a dark, stormy night three, four, or five years ago (last time I was there) reported me to him, and then he juuust missed me... Yeah, no. He's a liar. Last but not least, I posit this question for your consideration: I'm a medium-sized Mexican male who dresses in yellow or bright green and has frequented hundreds of nightclubs all over the world, dens patronized by all races and social classes, many of which are aggressive to outsiders. If I really devoted my time to harassing women, do you think I'd still be here to tell the tale? I have a love-hate relationship with this bar. When it's great, it's great. When it's not, it's really not. The DJ is different now, and they play much better music than the older one, for sure. Safety on the Dancefloor is Nonexistent I've been coming to the Stampede over five years. There are lots of reasons to go to the Stampede: the bar, darts, parties, general social stuff. But there is a really big area in there called, the dance floor. As such, most people think of it as a country 'dance' bar. Dance being the key word there. Not only that, they tout having the biggest dance floor anywhere. So, please, honor it. At every other country bar I go to (The Ranch, Montana's In Cahoots, Brandin' Iron, Renegade, and that's just local), you are politely asked to leave the dance floor if you are not actually dancing on it. You are also asked to not dance a different dance right in the middle of another dance being done by the majority. I know non-dancers or novices don't get this, but it really is basic dance etiquette 101. I have to assume the owners/shareholders of the Stampede don't dance. This is a major safety issue. Recently, a man was standing right on the dance floor drinking a beer (no one cares about drinks spilling on the floor and risking those dancing slip and fall either). My dance partner stopped, asked him to socialize on the other side of the rail off the floor and the guy freaked out, screaming there were too many rules there and to 'eff off!" he kept raising his beer at us, now refusing the leave the floor on purpose and every time we circled past him he yelled at us that we were jerks, etc. Where was security for this? Nowhere. Why did we even have to be the ones to ask this jerk to step out of the line of dance? No idea. If we had gone and asked security to do something about it they'd say it's not in their scope. Really? Stampede has been making some changes lately: some new murals, a new DJ. I'm guessing they want more revenue and are trying to step it up a bit. Here's hopeful advice: take a page from every other country dance club's playbook and have security watch both sides of the dance floor at all times, have them politely remind those not dancing to not loiter ON the dance floor and not to drink beverages on the dance floor. I'm tired of getting run into or dodging spills. Being told to eff off by some crazed, clueless jerk, with no one to stand for what is right, was the final straw. So here I am, looking for Yelp help. Seriously, please. Post signs if you're not staffed up enough. Lastly, can you please have the new DJ count off the dances? It is done EVERYWHERE ELSE. I heard it's not in his contract. Well, can you renegotiate that? Do you not notice the confusion and collisions of people not sure when to start a dance? With or without dance veterans out there, the less experienced can really mess things up. They don't mean to, but there is no dance club that does not have the DJ call out the dance. It would be extremely helpful--and safe--thank you. If safety starts to increase, I'll be inclined to change my rating. Here's to truly hoping for the best. read more
