Tried Tello's after not going for about two years. I don't know what happened, but they've changed. Three ribeyes were ordered and all three were barely edible. My daughter's and I basically received a plate of gristle and fat. When she finished cutting the steak to find meat, the pile of fat and gristle was basically the size of the original steak. Mine wasn't as bad as hers, but still bad. Thank God for the baked potato I had to fill me up. We didn't say anything to the waiter or manager because we just wanted to go. The other two people with us already brought up an issue with their food and drink and it was met with animosity from the manager so we didn't bother. The waiter had better customer service, but he also was the reason for the issue they had. The quality of the food is definitely not there anymore neither is the good customer service. We said this was for the kids meal and was told by the manager that you had to order the drink in the beggining. So...very dissapointing. $150 and no bueno. By now, I should know better than to trust Google and Yelp reviews but I wanted to support local business and try somewhere new. That's what I get for being so open minded. Upon arrival, the atmosphere was that of people who were there because the other restaurant was overcrowded. That's right. I don't think it was anyone theres first choice. The service staff brought two salsas, which is usually a sign of either a really good Mexican restaurant, or a really bad one. This one was the latter. The salsas were runny and non-flavorful. I ordered the chorizo queso dip and it was over salty. It was practically all I could taste. When our entrees arrived, my fajita plate was not sizzling, despite the amount of grease in the skillet and my guests entree was flat and flavorless. My fajitas had a decent amount of steak, which would have been great if it tasted like fajita steak. It tasted like unflavored beef. No salt, cumin, oregano, beef stock, nothing. My quests meal tasted line unseasoned ground beef drowned in queso. Overall, to say the least we will not be returning. On a positive note, if you need to get rid of some stray cats, order some take out from Tellos and give it to them. They will get the message. My cat wouldn't even ingest it. I have enjoyed dining at this hidden gem on many occasions. The experience has always been the same. The customer service is above the standard. The employee's are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very conducive for family dinners and gatherings. We have brought large groups and they were more than able to accommodate us. The dip was advertised as having Shrimp, chicken, and steak (all three amigos!), topped with there famous cheese dip. This dish was served topped with only chicken and the cheese dip was extremely salty. The Taco De La Calle (Carne Asada) was bland had no seasoning whatsoever. Chicken chimichanga - 2/10. they gave us a boiled chicken cutlet wrapped in a burrito with queso and some red sauce. The chicken wasn't even shredded. Chicken fajita nachos - 7/10. These were ok. Went to take my sis for a birthday lunch today on Sunday around 1 pm. We were a party of nine and had not called ahead or anything. The restaurant was quite busy and they said it might be a 45 minutes wait but a big party left and they had us seated in about 15 minutes. The drink order was taken swiftly and the drinks came out just as fast, it took a few minutes before we were able to order but then again we didn't call and I could see our waiter was working hard to take care of everyone of his tables so I didn't mind at all. Everybody at the table was very pleased with their order. I got the Juarez which is a big burrito filled with shrimp steak chicken onions and bell peppers, with rice and beans and it was delicious. The beans were creamy and delish and I usually don't like rice that much but this rice was really fluffy and tasty. My daughter in law got a loaded baked potato with all the fixin's and let me have a taste and it was delicious as well. It took a few trips to get all our food out a few minutes apart at a time but everyone was happy with their meals and we were ordering a lot of food at once. I would definitely return. They have so many menu options it's hard to choose and even have a list of items you can choose two of and make a meal which was a really good idea that comes with rice and beans. A good time was had by all and we all went home full and happy. I only wish they chips were a little softer and next time would order jalapenos with the cheese dip. No denying Wendy's 4 for 4 lunch is an economic wonder. A sandwich (admittedly small), Fries (once again small), Four Chicken nuggets with dipping sauce, and a medium drink. Well, mi amigos, I've what I believe to be a much better deal ... the Speedy Lunch at Tello's. Naturally you get the mandatory Chips and Salsa, but the Speedy also includes an overstuffed Taco, an equally overstuffed enchilada bathed in Chile con Queso, and quite possibly the best Refried Beans North of the border. I should know better by now when it comes to trusting Yelp users when it comes to good Mexican food. I went to Tellos for lunch and boy was I disappointed. I ordered the combo plate with a chicken tamale and a chili relleno, with beans and rice. The entire meal was horrible! The tamale was dry and very salty,the chili relleno was smothered in cheese sauce instead of a red sauce I am used to. I should have just given my $12.07 away instead wasting my time and gas. I drink quickly and never hold an empty cup against a server but when they keep me topped off they are doing something above the standard: Food and Price: My wife and I both got three soft beef tacos and not only was the price right, those things were monsters compared to other chains I've been too. Tonight was our first and LAST time eating here. The service was ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS ! It took 20 minutes to even get our drinks, we had to chase down the server to get any kind of refill, we were sat outside and ignored. When we asked for more chips, the woman rolled her eyes and said, "Service is coming." Now let's get to the food, the taco meat had the texture of cat food patte. The shells on the tacos and enchiladas were impossible to bite, they were like rubber. They took my nephews plate to the table, back to the kitchen for some reason, and then back to the table AFTER everyone else was done eating. You pay 2 dollars for a small cup of sour cream, which they NEVER EVEN BRING YOU, but are sure they charge you for. When we had had enough and just asked for our checks so we could leave, things took a real turn for the worse. The waiter was rolling his eyes and mumbling under his breath. My nephews check was 41 dollars but the bank notification he received stated they charged him for 49 dollars, then the manager didn't want to refund where his employee FRAUDULENTLY charged a 15 year old a tip he did not earn. This whole experience was a DISASTER and I would not recommend eating here unless you like crap service, crap food, and fraudulent charges. read more

We went to Tello's with a group of friends. There were a few families with us. The parents sat at one table; the kids sat at another table. We ordered a kid's meal for my 5-year-old son - it was a quesadilla with French fries, but we asked for beans instead of the fries. When the food came out, the guy who brought the food to the table didn't ask the adult table whose food each plate was. They just sat my son's food in front of him. Instead of bringing him beans like he ordered, they brought him fries. Instead of sending the food back, he just ate the fries. Unbeknownst to us, a child from another family had also ordered the same kid's meal with fries. When the server brought out the plate with beans, they were told that they ordered fries. He took the plate with beans back and brought another order with fries. When it was time to pay, they charged me FOUR DOLLARS for an extra order of fries. They said that, because my 5-year-old kid just ate what they gave him instead of sending the inaccurate order of fries back, they made an extra plate with beans. Because of that, they rationalized that we should pay an extra $4 for the mistake made. They didn't leave the plate with the beans. They took it back to put the same quesadilla on a plate with fries. But they charged me $4 for the trouble. We told the waiter about the mistake. He said that it was on purpose, and I would have to speak with him manager. We spoke to the manager, and she insisted that we pay for it. So they brought out a plate of food, they gave it to a 5-year-old without asking the parents if it was correct, he ate it without complaining, and their mistake caused them to waste the amount of beans they put on a kid's plate...so they charged us an extra $4 for food that they didn't even leave on the table, but for food they took back to the kitchen. We ate there twice over three days and paid over $100 for the two meals. And we were cheated out of $4. Never again. read more
