    Quesadilla Pirata

These pics were actually from two different occasions, within about a week from each other. After having an entire fresh guac to myself, I decided to bring someone else who likes it to also try it. The fresh guac was sooo good, my only suggestion, if you are going to make it "hot", actually incorporate it into the guac. Them making it hot was adding "Serrano" (which I found out after the second visit) on top. Second time ordering it, I asked for the Serrano to be mixed in plus having some additional on the side. I actually thought it was jalapeño until I tried to order some extra with my quesadilla and they brought me out the wrong pepper. My other negative was the fact that they charged extra to bring out the extra heat when I asked for more peppers in my quesadilla. It came with pickled serrano, but when I asked for the fresh, they charged me extra. Wasn't too happy about that. They simply could've asked me if I wanted fresh or pickled since it came with it and not charge me. For my meal on the first day I got a Carne taco and a breaded shrimp taco. I actually enjoyed the shrimp taco better I stated I also tried the quesadilla pirata, which I got on my second visit and very much enjoyed. Again, I would've preferred fresh serrano instead of pickled to add to the dish. Staff was great although going during lunch I'm at service was a bit slower. The restaurant itself while a bit cramped in some areas offered enough space for a great meal.

This is def great location with a beautiful atmosphere. Love the outdoor seating area which will be great in spring & summer as well as the indoor decore. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and sat on the bar side of the restaurant. Since there not the kind of Mexican restaurant that offer complementary chips and salsa, We decided to order their Queso and Chips the menu options appear very artisanal. Very unfamiliar with this kind of chips, though tasty they were a bit heavy handed on the Tajin and it's a lot of effort to break the chips into pieces would probably prefer regular tortilla chips. . We noticed they had a great drink selection. We opted not to drink that day but look forward to trying some in the future. For our mains we got the shrimp chimichanga and brisket chimichanga. They were a hit perfect flavorful the shrimp tasted so fresh the brisket wasn't dry . Great first impression with those dishes. Service was good a bit disjointed though Our waiter definitely had his hands full as bartender and server . He did his best but I think he might have been better focusing on the bar side than almost every where he seemed to be bussin the outdoor seating area and bartending and serving. . But it was pretty early in the day so maybe that's what needed to be done for coverage.

3/20/23 2nd visit No brainer .. the quality & taste of the food is phenomenal. 5 stars! Deduction Critique: A chicken & cheese quesadilla is $9.95 (A-la-carte! It is large but it's only chicken & cheese.) Grilled onions $1.00 Mushrooms $1.00 (I can almost understand this one) Sour cream $.50 Jalapeños Ranch Sauce $1.00 I recommend Las Flores but what about some lettuce? Chopped tomatoes? Peppers? There are no complimentary chips & salsa served here. Salsa would have been incredible on the quesadilla as it was pretty dry without. My point being the quesadilla was missing a few other things but "everything" has an up-charge. As good as this restaurant is, the necessity to nickel & dime the customer for every condiment seems unnecessary. It's almost comical. It makes me question who benefits from the "up-charge" as I would assume the server is the one who ultimately is affected. This is my second visit and both times 'Help Wanted' signs were posted. Just my humble opinion, and everyone has one, of how Great could be Greater! I'll continue to want to visit when I'm in town but if sticking to a lunch or dinner budget, it foregoes the potential greatness this restaurant could offer. An interesting note...a couple walked inside to be seated with a large dog. The entrance was right next to our table. It was several moments before the couple & dog were seated. I am unaware where they were seated but I assume or I hope on the outdoor patio. I am not a dog hater by any means, but I prefer not to have animals inside the restaurant near my table or food. For those with allergies, it would have been inevitable.

This is supposed to be chicken nachos! On what planet? Burnt American slice cheese as well.

Zero stars is more like it. What a joke, waste of time and patience. We showed up p at 4:10, it took 20 minutes to get water another 13 to get a beer after being told our server couldn't find a Pacifico. We ordered chicken nachos and the Calle steak tacos. An hour in what reminded me of Alpo dog food was presented as nachos. Burnt, sad and with an awful taste. No salsa- when we finally saw our server, who BTW couldn't care less, we asked for salsa to attempt to salvage this 12 dollar mess only to be told they don't have salsa. Only pick that we'd have to order. Sure, still trying here. Another 10 mi it's, hubby finally gets up to ask anyone to help us. Another 15- at this point I am done. I wave it off. Hubby leaves restaurant and I wait for server who ignores me of course. Hand him 20 bucks just to leave. Don't go, don't waste your time, money, patience or taste buds. We went left and on the corner is a small Mexican restaurant. No ambience but fast, friendly and great tasting. Look for that review.

Welp... We went on a Saturday night for date night. It took 20 minutes for anyone to speak to us. No someone's said they'll be back but never did. It took another 23 minutes once we were seated to be acknowledged. I ended up waving a bus boy down who went to get a waitress who apologized and told me they were short staffed. Since it was chilly out and slow, we decided to just have a margarita and appetizer and take dinner to go. We ordered 2 Texas Margaritas, Fried Guacamole and Chicken and Shrimp Fajitas. I was sad to learn that they did not offer black beans so we opted for double rice bc I do not like the refried pinto beans and many times they are made with lard and we don't eat pork. I also paid for a side salad. By the time we got home we had meat, double beans, no rice, no tortillas, no toppings, no salad, No fajita toppings etc... So I called.... And called... And called... Finally after 11 someone answered. She apologized, took my name and placed me on hold. She said the owner or manager (I can't remember) was willing to offer me a discount on my next visit. I replied that in my eyes that was unacceptable as I paid over $80 and I only have meat. She placed me back on hold for a few minutes. Returned and said that they were not willing to refund but if I'd like I can have it remade and can pick it up After Monday bc they were closed Sunday. She told me my name would be written by the bar and blah blah blah... Welp, last night...I said oh I have a comped meal so we drove the 30 min each way out there again. 2 hrs of driving in total for both trips for this food. Well first I called, the lady who answered was very nice. She did NOT find any paper with my name on it stating I had a comped meal but she believed me and told me to come in. Again, My Husband ordered us a Margarita and we paid to get an avocado to go. So when we got home, thankfully all the food was there including more pinto beans. I stared with the Guacamole...it was okay but too many onions. I blame the Chef and not the restaurant. I know as a chef that was probably one workers heavy handiness. We ate half because the raw onions were overpowering. On to the Fajita, welp, we got 8 shrimp and chicken. The Meat was very tasty but they totally ripped us off with the chicken. It was all onions and peppers. I took a video to show. The rice is very bland but I added some of the onions and peppers. The tortillas seemed to have been heat neglected. Meaning they just wrapped them, didn't grill or warm them first. You can tell the difference. The beans went into the garbage as for the second time I told them I didn't want the beans. The fried Guacamole from the first visit was okay. It was interesting and I'm glad I tried it but I prefer cold Guaamole so I wouldn't order it again. The Margaritas were good. Will I return? No. I feel cheated and I spent over $100 and drove 2 hrs. Im Good. PS couldn't figure out how to post the video but if anyone from the Management of this Restaurant would like to see it, I'll be happy to email you

Nothing special at all about this place. The chimichanga had huge chunks of chicken instead of pulled. The little bit of cheese that was on it tasted like that velveeta cheese in a jar. A bowl of rice with corn in it is the only thing that came with it. No chips and salsa included and the waitress comeback was 'we're authentic so if you want that you can buy it separately'. I'm used to a huge plate of food when I eat at a Mexican restaurant and my chimichanga with queso all over it with enough food have me full, not here and I would not recommend

Is having a fantastic time at Las Flores.

Dishes are priced without meat then they upcharge $2 to add chicken or shrimp, or $3 to add beef.

While I prefer my chimichangas to be pan fried a bit it was absolutely delicious. I loved how fresh every was and really loved the char flavor on the beef . Also ordered a side of rice while it needed a little more flavor with salt and pepper it's complementd my meal well. Loved The queso and the salsa and chips are perfect. As someone who doesn't care for the taste of refried beans it was the first time I actually enjoyed it. When we arrived the guy at the front register was great, friendly and was surprised that he knew the nam and order just by hearing our voice saying we had an order for pick up . Especially being that it was busy and there were a few orders still needing to be picked up . Sometimes you walk into a restaurant and feel like the TO-Go service is an afterthought but not here. Definitely looking forward to Trying more from the menu and having a dine-in experience as well. Glad to say our search for good Mexican in Conyers is finally over .

The other reviews did not lie! The restaurant is located in the back of a small Mexican grocery store. There was a guy out front singing and opening the door for patrons that were going in and out, which I thought was so sweet! I walked straight to the back to the restaurant. I ordered three birria tacos and birria ramen. I also got a bottled cook. The price was $35.00. They do have tables to dine in and that was my plan but I ended up taking it to go. Hands down the BEST tacos I have ever had. I have to admit that was my first time having birria tacos and I am kicking myself because I have most definitely been missing out. Plenty of meat, the flavors, the heat from the red sauce...it did not miss. The ramen was good but I expected it have an egg and vegetables but it was meat and noodles. I don't plan on ordering the ramen again, but if I do, I will add to it. One thing I did notice is the receipt did not request a tip. Maybe that is a good thing but I would have loved to tip them for the good service and exceptional food. They did have a tip jar at the counter so if you want to leave a tip, be sure to bring cash. So if you are in the area or don't mind the drive, get the birria tacos but don't be like me and just get three, get at least 4+.
