Steve did an excellent job of cleaning and replacing the roller system in my old HP laser printer first purchased in 2008. He offered advice on the phone, initially, to change the color cartridges since I was getting red streaks when printing. I had extras on hand since I knew they were getting low anyway. I work at a mid-sized hotel here in Santa Barbara and our clunky old wireless network that we installed 7 years ago just wasn't cutting it with the current processing speeds of most of our guests' laptops. Even worse, when we got a group of academics downloading fat reams of data simultaneously, I would hear words like "molasses", "glacial" and "primitive" to describe our network. After calling a few other hotels in the area, I landed on the Tek guys. They showed up promptly, and together, we variously walked and crawled our way through the architecture of our hotel to find the weak links in the network. The Tek techs were very informative and helpful through the entire process, and eventually, we found a way to make the network perform without having to replace it entirely, which in turn ended up saving us thousands of dollars. Bravo to Steve and Will and the whole crew! I would recommend them to anyone in need of anything related to computers in a business setting. Their friendly demeanor, ability to explain computers and how they work with each other, and their honesty and willingness to design a network that actually saves their patrons money are all compelling reasons to use this excellent local company. My computer was accidentally wiped of data, and I went to Steve for help. Nice as could be, and explained the possibilities clearly. He consulted a couple of gurus, who told him that it was doubtful that much could be recovered, and it would cost hundreds just to find out. When I said I wouldn't pay that much, he said he'd put it on his own program in the shop overnight, and the next morning called to tell me that it found my pst (email) files, which were the most important thing. He suggested that I buy the personal version of the find/restore program he used to restore them, rather than charging me for hours of his time. I did ($40), and he only charged me one hour for all that! Really great service, more than reasonable, and just a pleasure to do business with him. read more

Their name should be LIFESAVER!! They have been saving my a___ and the computers my family and I have for nearly twenty years. They stay late, they show up on Saturdays for a crisis, they seem to know how to fix anything and everything, especially laptops and once again they saved me on a holiday weekend from a laptop fiasco right before I had to leave the country on an extended trip. What excellent service! I had a brother fax machine that work weeks kept jamming every single fax coming through. I called tek and the nice woman said she'd have someone call me back after I provided her details of my issue. Not only did Stephen call me back within 30 minutes, he came straight to my office within an hour of me calling and had my fax machine fixed in about 5 minutes! He was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I will definitely be using TEK again for our office tech needs. Kudos to Stephen for being SO helpful and friendly. This was my first time using TEK and I was super happy with the work done on my MacBook Pro. They answered the phone right away, took my computer same day, and I had it back in a day and a half. I wasn't surprised when my Dell laptop (which is about 5 years old) crashed, I just figured that it was about time to replace it and that I'd get something basic from one of the major retailers. So, I spent a couple of weeks shopping around and listening to all the sales people explain what I need, what is available, and how much it would cost. Conscious of not wanting to create more landfill when I tossed my old computer, and to appease my curiosity, I decided to close the loop by taking my computer in to see if it could be repaired. My printer was jammed and went to Tek to get it fixed. They were super fast, helpful and would go to them anytime.

If I could give TEK Computers 6 stars I would. My company is paperless, so everything is on my computer. I was noticing something wasn't right with my laptop (granted it was nearly 9 years old) and after quickly saving everything I could to my external HD, it crashed. Bad. Steve, the owner, was my one and only call and he came to my rescue within two hours. He was able to "resuscitate' my laptop so that I could use it for as long as I could. I was then given instructions to purchase a new one immediately. Which I did. You know when the computer specialist says "you need a new computer right away," you just need to listen. Due to my needs, my computer was back-ordered and while awaiting it's arrival, my computer crashed again, but this time is was irreparable. Steve was able to get everything I needed off the HD with his fancy equipment and he assured me that getting everything onto my new computer will be smooth sailing. The best part is he made a very high-anxiety situation basically painless. I was kind of freaking out when the reality set in, but he kept telling me everything will be alright - and it was. He worked tirelessly to do everything possible to get my computer to run as long as possible so I didn't have any down time. The very next day, he even lent me a 'loaner' computer following the death of my laptop so I wasn't without a way to keep running my company. Unbelievable how he did everything humanly possible to keep me up and running. He has been my "go-to" computer expert for years - and this is why.
