Horrible! Over an hour on hold just trying to speak with someone in the store to check if my order was ready! While still on hold the store closed. I finally made it through the AI and still not a single person answered the phone for over an hour. Unprofessional. I knew better than to purchase from Best Buy. It all started when I placed an order Friday, February 27 to pickup an on Saturday, February 28. I received confirmation email Friday evening, then right after, another email came in stating they thought the item was in stock but it's not and I wouldn't be able to pickup until March 6. Unacceptable! Almost a week delayed. After a run around with customer service, I was able to cancel that order and reorder a different item. However, I do not trust them so before I drove 30 minutes (one way), to the store and HOPE it's ready, I decided to call. Unfortunately no one answered their phone for over an hour. Chain stores like Best Buy are an unpredictable experience for me. But this visit, looking for a camera tripod, was most pleasant. I was greeted by a smiling staff member as soon as I walked in (about 6:30pm). When I told him what I was looking for he very kindly lead me to that section of the store. After a bit of indecision, I took my choice to the checkout only to find that I had selected an "open box" item. This meant $60 off and with a money back guarantee. We never venture to Best Buy anymore since everything can be purchased online (which we ended up doing in the end) but we needed to check out washers as ours broke. They had a good selection to look at and the staff who helped us was very nice. He gave us some feedback on certain brands and what to expect. I really appreciated that he didn't hover around us and let us do our own thing. The prices here were comparable to Home Depot and to keep things simple, we purchased ours off the Best Buy website. I took my computer to have it reviewed for repair. About 2 weeks later the service it was sent to quoted a price so high it was cheaper to replace it. The charge for sending the computer was 84.95 which I paid on my debit card. The computer was returned to me today and I was refunded 84.95 but only in a gift card. It is absurd not to refund people money that they clearly paid and the store received. The people at the Geek Squad knew what they were doing and cuter service is certainly out of their control. This Best Buy is terrible for so many reasons. Recently I tried to return something and it was slightly over their 15 DAY RETURN POLICY which they said nothing about. Their obnoxious manager pointed to a huge sign on the wall covered with tiny lettering, to say that the policy was visible to all. After that I returned something from Home Depot that I had purchased on the same day, with no problem at all. They are the worst. The selection sucks and most of their employees know nothing so don't bother asking questions. The few times I've tried they start googling to find the answer. I had a good experience here - my husband and I were leaving the next day for an overseas trip and he very suddenly needed a new cell phone. First we stopped at Costco but they don't have any phones you can walk out of the store with. All of them are shipped to you. "We could overnight it to you..." nope, we didn't have time for that. Next we went to the AT&T store since that's who our phone service is with. They had the phones there, but they were unable to sell us a phone. We could only have a phone if we did a monthly service agreement. So we left there too. Best Buy had the phone we wanted and they were perfectly happy to sell it to us!! This place is a nightmare. I went to buy an iPhone SE 3 there because T Mobile had none with 128 gb. Johnny was very nice but I ended up wasting hours and then days without being able to buy the phone because of a "system error." They put a "ticket" in because the T Mobile system couldn't interface with the Best Buy one. It made no sense. So Johnny told me on a Saturday that it might resolve later than afternoon, by which point I couldn't stomach driving back to SB and out to Goleta after three T Mobile visits in four hours. I went to LA to watch the Tonys and see Come From Away and returned Monday afternoon. Surely after 48 hours, the problem would have been resolved? NOPE. They were sympathetic but they should have been honest and told me they're totally and utterly useless and hopeless. That the corporate people don't deal with tickets in a timely fashion, and that I should just order from T Mobile and wait 72 or 96 hours. I ended up going to Apple the next day, where I continued to have issues with upgrade and couldn't finance the new phone. Apple was amazing, spending hours on my problem. I have always loathed this Best Buy. It's got a bad vibe and other than getting a 32 inch on sale Toshiba Fire TV for a hundred bucks, I will never go there again if I can help it. read more

I just drove over to Best Buy Goleta, CA from Summerland (30 minutes) to return an item. I didn't want to arrive after close, because that nearly happened to me in Sept in Vegas, the store closed at 8p. I check Yelp for store times and to my pleasant surprise it says 9p, I thought "must be open later on Friday" so I swing through a drive through. When I arrive at 7:15p, I find the store dark, closed. Your info on Yelp is wrong. My return(s) due today. So I Initiate the return online and race to UPs; however, I could not email the label I chose to "print"and when I try to "reprint" I get an error message and I'm SOL. Also, its confusing does the return need to be mailed or delivered by the return date. What if I mailed today, would you refuse to accept and send back?? with a note "Sorry bruh - closed" Last, I want to return (2) items I purchased at the same day/time/register, but for whatever reason only (1) item found in "my purchases" so I can't initiate that return to prove I at least attempted to be on time. Best Buy has adapted quickly by taking steps to maintain their employees and door open. While the inside of the store is not open to the public, their website is accepting online orders for curbside pick-up or home delivery. I had a $30 gift card burning a hole in my pocket and figured it is about time I spend it! I went to Best Buy's website last night to glance at what sales and deals they have going on. First, they are selling many of their "Open Box," clearance and display products at 40% off. Next, they had exactly what I was seeking out on sale: Mobile Phone Tripods. Finally, I did my due diligence to make sure I was getting the best price since Best Buy offers a Price Match Guarantee. Unfortunately I'm no longer a student but they offer further student discounts too. I received my order confirmation via email instantaneously notifying me that I will be sent another message when the order is ready for curbside pick-up. Sure enough, when the order was ready I received a follow-up email. I drove to this local Goleta Best Buy, pulled up to one of three designated parking spots, clicked on the "I'm Here" call to action button in my email, entered my car's description with what parking space number I was parked in, and left my trunk open. Look...you know what it is. Every single Best Buy on Yelp barely makes it above the 3 star overall rating. Most of the time chains like this are very busy, so trying to stop people and get help/answers like everyone else in the store is a HASSLE! You're setting yourself up for failure. Be like me and place your order online then pick your shit up from the store. So I have this canopy bed and got a bright idea to mount a tv from the frame of the bed. Watching tv without having to leave the comfort of my bed sounded heavenly...and it seemed very doable. So I went online to Best Buy's website and tried searching for a smaller sized tv that wouldn't be too large or weigh too much, and Voila! Best Buy had an AWESOME deal on a rather new store display tv that was in perfect condition. A small sized LG LED Smart TV that was like half priced because it was display. Why not? If it was junk, I'd return it. Placed my order and then got a message on the time and day to pick it up. I get to Best Buy, wait in the pick up line for barely 3 mins before it was my turn (had a weekday pickup instead of a weekend. Probably made it much faster). When it is my turn, they pull out the TV to double check it to make sure it was good AFTER they had already checked it making sure it was good. Double checks are always a plus in my book. I showed my ID, the debit/credit card used for purchase and the online order number then was on my merry way. Quick and easy. And I've been happy ever since. This is how you do Best Buy. Do your research and ordering at home and online. Pick your shit up at the store. Avoid the drama and the chore of a negative Yelp review. Don't ever consider upgrading your phone plan and/or phone at Best Buy. They misled us to believe that we'd receive a total of $1,800 to trade in 2 phones to upgrade our existing Verizon plan and 2 devices. When I went into Verizon to trade in both phones, Verizon claimed that the offer wasn't valid and only gave us $880 in credit -- less than 50% of what was included in the deal. Best Buy has pushed back and denied any responsibility or error on their part. All they offered was a worthless phone case and protective cover -- nothing close to the $920 that we're owed as a result. read more

We have had a very poor interaction with another big box store with delays of a month and a half to receivie a washer and dryer and they still couldn't get it delivered.
