My doctor recommended this store so I could get shoes to reduce my foot pain issues. Yes, these are pricy shoes but they are a gift for your feet. They did some analyses of my gait using their equipment to determine what size shoe and what type of insert I would need. They then sold me a multi-use pair of shoes which, after wearing them daily at work and elsewhere, have greatly improved my walking and balance. Seriously less foot pain too. At nearly $300 this is a big expense but it seems to be well worth the investment. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. I plan to save up for at least one more pair. read more

I was expecting the people at Red Wing to have much more knowledge. Went there for advice on how to clean a pair of boots. Even showed them the boots. The brush and foam cleaner worked great. Then I was sold this junk, Leather cream, and was told it would not darken the leather. Well maybe the employee there needs to start wearing glasses. It not only darkened the boot but left an unwanted sheen as well (which the product says it would not do). Thanks for nothing Red Wing, thanks for ruining a good pair of boots. This store has either changed hands or the previous manager, who most of the positive comments are about, was fired (according to the new manager). New manager is a complete incompetent _____, try your luck at the Oxnard store or Santa Maria. I bought two pairs of boots a year for the past 8 years from this store. Never had a problem with the boots but the one time I do the guy is willing to loose my business over a warranty issue. I got my boots resoled by the factory and the soles started coming off after 3 months. He told me that the factory couldn't possibly have resoled these and I was a liar. "This isn't Red Wing quality, you took them some place else." Not only did it have the Red Wing branded logo on the new sole but when I told him it should be all in the computer and to look it up...the whole transaction was there! He refused to honor the warranty because he claimed the transaction went through the previous manager and "he doesn't work here anymore". He also claimed to be the owner. read more

Red wing has been around for as long as my grandpa has been going there for his boots and my dad going in for his boots unfortunately they don't make a lot of women's size but Irish setter are my favorite I always have to order them but I am always happy with my purchase. Debra was so kind and helped me find the right pair, even going out of her way to order the size and style I needed from a different store location. She called me as soon as they arrived, gave me a discount, and recommended a product for waterproofing the boots as well. As a gal with small feet I was apprehensive about finding work boots that were both comfortable and flattering but I love the ones she helped me find and am actually looking forward to wearing them. I've never gone into this store before. My son needed steel toed boots so we decided to mosey in. Everyone has different shaped feet and it was so great to be helped by the funny and knowledgeable Steve, the store manager. He effortlessly tried one style after another and also tried them with orthotic insoles and found the perfect combination for my son's feet. We genuinely had fun in the presence of this nice knowledgeable man. My son commented afterwards while we drove away what a pleasure it was to work with a truly helpful person without a salesy bone in his body. This was just a great experience. I picked up a pair of Red Wing 875s here this morning and had a fantastic experience. Not only are the boots the most comfortable I have owned so far, they're made in the USA and the price is reasonable. I was helped by the owner (Steven?) who was knowledgeable about boots. He was able to size me, give advice on fit, and recommend how to care for my new purchase. He did not try to up-sell on insoles, products, etc. and I feel he really just wanted to get me what I actually needed. These days it's easy to buy things online, but I was really glad I took the time to shop here. They offer free oiling, free lace replacement, and repairs on the boots they sell here. One tip: look for a coupon before heading in, I saved $20 by using one. read more

Worst customer service ever. Husband and I went in to purchase work boots for both of us. Two people working, helping others, which was fine. We browsed for about 15 minutes. Neither salesperson even acknowledged our existence. One salesperson stood talking to a guy who flat out said he wasn't going to buy anything the entire time we were there. Other salesperson complained they were so busy. Uh, you are a retail store hoping to sell your products to customers, you should be thankful for the business. But, apparently not. This place gets 5 stars because they have shoes in widths. I take an 11 EE, and I can't fit an ordinary D width. They have them. No where else I tried in town does. She was sooooo rude and snobby telling me she would not even get them and let me try them on.... then i needed to leave the store for asking why.... My experience at this store has been very unpleasant. I looked up redwing shoes on the Internet and to research his store hours and it said they open at 9:30. I work swing shift so I was down there promptly and to my surprise there was a note on the door that said they have new hours that start at 10. I waited around until 10:20 and he finally came up. I explained that I was driving a good distance and that I've been waiting an hour already and he kinda squared up and gave me a bad attitude like he's having a bad day. He opened the door and started talking to some people that were there waiting for him too. He muttered something about excuse him for being late and he said he was getting hassled by me..... This guy is running a new business and can't show up on time and he closes his store early the day before His front door had ups and fedex postage stickers on he door from the day before because he closed up early... The name is legendary, but the review is for the service. No hard sell, the shoes sell themselves. Knowledgeable and very nice salesman even had a "spare" coupon for a discount. I wouldve given it another star if I could. These shoes aren't cheaply made,so don't expect a cheap price.
