Super disappointed by the lack of service I received today, which is really unfortunate considering I was wanting to use a gift card I received during the holiday. Walked into Diani was not greeted at all. I didn't take immediate offense since I understand that staff can be busy. I walked around and then was curious about the beautiful jewelry in the case. I could hear the staff member organizing sections of clothing. I never once was acknowledged or even asked if I would like assistance or if I would like to see something. Absolutely nothing. Now I have a few friends that shop there frequently and never have I been told that the service was poor and rude so I didn't have any preconceived notions. I decided to leave and when I turned around saw the staff member organizing sections and I said hello. Her reply was cold and dismissive but she did say hello. The first thing I thought of was wow, people should always treat others with respect especially in a high end store, you never ever know who has a lot of money in Santa Barbara so therefore judging is just poor etiquette! I will never go back to that store and maybe the staff member should remember that she is working for the store clearly not shopping in it. It's too bad that there is not a separate page for the clothing store and shoe store since I had two very different experiences in each. The vibe in clothing store is not welcoming. Not even a hello. Items are beautiful, service is poor. Salespeople ignored me until I picked out some items. Although there were 2 salespeople, I was not acknowledged until I had selected an armful of items and then was offered a fitting room. Never was offered help afterwards. Would have liked to try on other options but was made to feel like a bother. Only one other customer at the time. Conversely, in shoe store, I had a very friendly, welcoming experience. Christine was very helpful, attentive even though there was another customer and she was only salesperson. She was very knowledgeable, offered various suggestions. I made a shoe purchase but did not make a in-store clothing purchase. Fortunately found clothing designers' web pages online and ordered directly from designers. read more

This is the store you must see if you are visiting Santa Barbara or live here. The store has the greatest selection of the best designers including dresses, jeans, bags, hats, sweaters, tops, bottoms, shoes and so much more. And they have a phenomenal sale area. Everything I have purchased over the last 10 years still continues to be some of my favorite pieces. Leanna, the manager is wonderful and Ariella is such a great salesperson with so much style. I ordered a pair of Loeffler Randall heels from DIANI via their website; I live in New York and the heels appear to have sold out everywhere, so I was grateful to find them here. I was a little hesitant ordering from a boutique that I am unfamiliar with, but my experience with Diani was top notch. The heels shipped quickly, tracking via Fedex was immediately provided, and they arrived in the Loeffler Randall shoebox within a shipping box, taped securely. The box was even wrapped with patterned tissue paper and accompanied by a handwritten note; this kind of attention to detail speaks volumes about DIANI. My mom has been a client at Diani's for years I mean before they even had their Living and Shoes locations. So this past February my aunt gifted her Oliver Peoples sunglasses from Diani Shoes for her birthday. We took a trip to the Bahamas to celebrate her birthday and my mom brought her new sunglasses along. She wore them the first day there and the next morning noticed that one nose pad was gone. We come back from the Bahamas which was one day after the "return policy"and goes to Diani to return the glasses. She couldn't physically return them on time because we were out of the country. They told her first that there was no returns on the sunglasses, then they changed the story and said it was a seven day return policy and she went on the 8th day. Impossible to make the return on time if your not even in the country. So they then decided to take the sunglasses and contact Oliver Peoples for a repair. Two months later after no one contacted my mom she went to the store to ask what had happened. They said that Oliver Peoples couldn't do anything. So my mom asked, "well when did they tell you this because it's been two months and no one ever called to inform me?" They got nervous and said about a week ago. Unbelievable how unprofessional this was handled. Blows my mind because of all the lying from day one that she went to return/exchange/repair the glasses. They proceeded to hand her back the broken glasses as if they ever even contacted Oliver Peoples. So disappointing, we have no words. My mom was willing to prove to them she was out of the country and now she has a pair of glasses that she can't even use. And lastly we own more Oliver Peoples glasses so we know that they are of good quality and they should not be falling apart after wearing them once. Warning to all to make sure you are aware of the return policy that I guess changes in a span of seconds in a conversation. read more

I received a gorgeous Rag & Bone blazer for Christmas from Diani. Unfortunately, it was huge - exchanged for a smaller size and it was still way too big. By the time I returned from out of town, the 7 day time period for exchanging or returning the item had passed, and I was left with a blazer that while stunning, I couldn't wear. It was on its way to charity. I'd received an email explaining that Diani's policy was its policy and there was nothing they could do. Enter Whitney Moser, the VP of e-commerce and marketing who stepped in and did what I have come to expect from the high end, client oriented places I frequent. She issued a store credit, sent me a return authorization and in the process, gained a loyal client who is delighted to recommend Diani to anyone who asks. While there are virtually limitless places to buy quality, unique clothing online and in person, there are nowhere near that number of establishments that truly understand what taking care of the customer means. I love Diani!! Whenever I'm in Santa Barbara I make a point of stopping in to see what they've got. (And I never leave empty handed) I also love that when I need a DIani fix, I can just order from their website - free shipping! Big bonus in my book! My last experience there was really wonderful. Good selection of mid range and higher end alike. The customer service is good and they often have things that truly can't be found elsewhere in SB. Like, literally. Yes, some of it is repetitive, but most of it is well-edited and unique to the local shopping scene. Never-ending rad supply of Marant and my go-to place for Velvet for Graham and Spencer. Their sales are good and the only bad thing I can say is that sometimes the shop is under-staffed and you can't get someone who can actually help you out or set you up with a room. Diani Boutique impressed me on Insta. Love the outfits styled daily. Have a tendency towards "feeling" fabric prior to purchase and hesitated purchasing online. Found a MadeWorn tee on their feed which I wanted to pair with two IRO jackets. After contacting Elena - E Commerce Sales with inquiry, she gave quick response and assisted with sizing. The package came fast and wrapped lovely - felt special. When I found some boots I was on the fence about, she took the time to take photos of them on. They didn't work for my taste, yet again the effort was appreciated. Customer service is a component that has repeat business for me. Do not shop here! I returned a pair of jeans and they were returned back to me with stains that were not there when I shipped them back. When I contacted the store, they told me the jeans were final sale, but my receipt did not say final sale, and the store had given me a return authorization and told me to ship them back. Then they told me I could ship them back again for an online credit (again, at my expense). Eventually they agreed to give me a shipping label to ship them back again, but because most of their inventory is over $300 and the credit is for $118, and none of their sale items under $118 are in my size, I would have to spend more money than I already spent in order to use the credit and get my money back. Why would anyone want to shop at a store like this? read more

I really wanted to like this shop. The pictures on Instagram are so pretty and inspiring. But, once I got onto the website and ordered, I have come to love this shop! They have brands that I've not seen elsewhere. Gorgeous and unique. Motivates you to completely redo your home. From the photos I've seen of the shop, I'm in danger should I ever get there. The displays look so compelling -- like you've got to touch each item as you look. Be aware that this business has a very stringent and unyielding policy for returns!! When I recently tried to return a gift item that I'd belatedly discovered was non-functional, I was turned away,told they have a mandatory 10 day limit for ALL returns. They would not consider that it was a gift, nor did they seem to care that it was unusable. Unfortunately, I will no longer shop at the Diani stores, as much as I like their inventory. What I'd requested was reasonable in my opinion. They will not stand behind their merchandise if the date of sale is more than 10 days. They've yet to learn what the big stores know and what my father taught me at an early age, "The customer is always right!" read more

Diani has some cute stuff. Seems to be an okay mix for young & older. For the most part, the employees are friendly & helpful. Unfortunately, a lot of their clothing is very overpriced and I don't always buy things that aren't marked down. However, being Christmas time, I wanted to shop local and help out local businesses. I purchased two sweaters as gifts and wanted to get them gift wrapped. They wanted to charge $10 each for gift wrapping after I spent over $700! I think that's absolutely ridiculous! I cannot think of a local store that charges at all for their gift wrapping. Needless to say, I took the two sweaters and wrapped them myself. However, I was pretty disappointed and I would advise Diani to rethink their gift wrapping charge, especially because I'm sure it wasn't worth $10. read more

Their online storefront is literally impossible to navigate. You need patience. A lot of it. But the store itself is absolutely charming. The selection of clothing is great - lots of euro brands and practical pieces. The owner is really nice and she has two freaking adorable dogs that I couldn't stop playing with when I was browsing. I recently placed an order online because I sadly am not in Santa Barbara anymore. The product assortment is a very "clean bohemian" and chic. The navigation process is a lot smoother for a small boutique but could definitely still use some work. Overall, great store with assortment which is available online as well. I haven't had the pleasure of visiting DIANI in-person (ordered jeans online), but my communication with Hannah on their team has been unparalleled. Such amazing customer experience & super high touch. When a sale product went out of stock that I wanted, Hannah went out of her way to coordinate getting another for me with their wholesaler, and even extended the same sale price. She followed up promptly with tracking once available and when the package arrived, I found a handwritten note as well. DIANI's team gives the kind of customer care that used to be expected of a shopping experience, but that we've since forgotten. They made me feel truly appreciated & important. I purchased something very expensive as a gift and went to return it the following week to be told "store credit only...no monetary returns". If you are going to allow me or anyone to spend $800 in your store, at least have the conscience to let us know its not returnable for cash but for store credit, as this was not for me but a gift. The person ending up not liking the gift and I've ended up not caring for Diani in the least.
